In true Sheikah fashion, Silas is decked out with a diverse arsenal of tools and weapons, well-prepared for the many missions he receives. His main weapons are a slim dagger, about as long as his lower arm, and the needles he can conjure into his hand. The dagger is seathed on the back of his waist, along with a crossbow carried on his back for targets out of Silas' range. Besides traditional weaponry, Silas is also a talented mage, using magic to enchance his melee attacks. Recently, in an encounter with an odd trickster entity (an encounter Silas would rather banish from his mind), he has lost his left arm and gained a huge, floating metal hand in return. Coated in mirror silver, the hand is often used as shield or a particularly blunt melee weapon.

Silas is an excellent example of first impression not always being the right one. He has an intimidating posture, towering over most people with his impressive height, along with a muscular build; the result of his lifelong training. He has a sharp, angular face with high cheekbones and bright red eyes. His silvery white hair is cut short, with a straight fringe ending just above his eyes, with two longer strands hanging in front of his ears. Silas' ears are both pierced with small silver rings, as is customary for Sheikah passing into adulthood. Under his left eye, he has a small set of red markings, resembling a teardrop.

Silas dresses in the traditional style of his people, preferring flexibility over protection with a tight, dark blue bodysuit. It is reinforced with padded segments around the knees and elbows, as well as having pieces of leather sewn onto the thighs and stomach. The chest of his suit bears the eye symbol of the Sheikah in red. Having recently lost his left arm, Silas pins up his sleeve to avoid it getting in the way.

But the Sheikah is not entirely without armour. To protect his hands, he wears sturdy gloves over wrappings, the back of them plated with a lightweight but protective metal. His shins are likewise covered by simple greaves, leaving his feet free for mobility's sake.

    Personality:
While Silas keeps up a face of professionalism and stoicism to the general public, as one with his occupation should be as inconspicuous as possible, this mask breaks very quickly and very easily when dealing with people he is close with. First impressions of the Sheikah are often that of a tall, quiet, intimidating and dedicated man, those who have spend more time around him know he is far from that. Save for his devotion to the Royal Family, Silas is about the opposite. The man simply loves to chat, joke and tease. He is an easygoing and cheerful person, bordering on downright goofy when dealing with his brother or closest friends. Second impressions of Silas are thus often that of a cheery, yet slightly strange man. Which works all the better for the Sheikah to cover up the fact he is a highly competent spy and assassin in service of the Royal Family.

His service is a source of both pride and conflict for Silas. It is one of the traditional tasks given to the Sheikah clans, and as such he has been trained from birth to follow in his ancestors' footsteps. His devotion, along with his race's already impressive willpower, grants him an almost inhuman determination to see things through to the end. While he considers serving the Royal Family a great honour, and was raised to accept and carry out any task they entrust to him, Silas feels conflicted about the darker of his duties, such as taking out enemies of the crown. He feels killing, and violence in general is wrong, and often tries to find a peaceful way to solve conflicts. Death is not something to treat lightly, and one should carry out his duties with dignity. Silas keeps this conflict tightly bottled up, refusing to speak of it even with close friends or family, covering it up with his usual cheeriness.

    Backstory:
Born into a long line of Sheikah serving the Royal Family, Silas has been trained from birth to follow in his ancestors' footsteps together with his younger brother, Sirius. As per Sheikah tradition, the brothers were raised to become spies and assassins for the crown, able to carry out secret missions that would put the Royal Family in bad light if they ever came out. The missions ranged from simple reconnaissance and retrieving and sending various objects and documents to assassinating those considered a danger to the kingdom, but also to protect the Royal Family against any of those things happening to themselves.

While highly competent and a diligent student, Silas showed a strong distaste for killing and violence in general, often trying to find ways around killing his targets and opting for more peaceful solutions. Of course, this was not always an option, and Silas knew. But his wavering resolve would later have a great impact on his and his brother's life.

Besides the art of stealth, battle and killing, Silas was also taught good manners and diplomacy, skills essential for his time spend at court. While he tends to be informal with people from the outside, when at court or interacting with his masters he'll be the perfect subordinate and gentleman.

Eventually the brothers reached a point in their training where they were send out on real, dangerous missions. One of their first was to take out a confirmed enemy of the crown, whose hideout had been discovered prior. Most of the mission went according to plan, the two Sheikah had crept into the hideout unseen and located their target, with Silas ready to shoot the man. But then, he hesitated. While he had been able to suppress his reluctance to kill in training, it came back in full force when he laid eyes on his target. And a few seconds of doubt was all it took for everything to end in disaster. Their target's hound, a great black beast, had picked up the would-be assassins' scent in those precious few seconds. Not only had it alerted its master, who managed to escape in the ensuing chaos, but it also threw itself onto the brothers, with Sirius getting the worst of it. They managed to escape, with Silas dragging his wounded brother back home, but Sirius' career was over. The hound has viciously torn into his leg, permanently damaging the limb. He would not be able to continue working alongside his elder brother.

Silas was wrecked with guilt; not only had he failed his mission, he had failed to protect his younger brotheras well. And was that not what an elder sibling was supposed to do? Feeling like he had failed at everything that ever mattered, Silas nearly quit the job. Only his parents, telling him that this was his duty as one of the Sheikah; to be a weapon for those who could not wield one openly, changed his mind. They knew of his doubts, but told him that one's own emotions did not matter in this line of work. Nonetheless, it took a long time for Silas to come to terms with what happened, and even longer before he dared to face his brother again.

When he finally did, Sirius had taken up a job as a trainee teacher at the prestigious Academy of Sages, putting his knowledge of magic to use for the education of Hyrule's inhabitants. As an attempt at reconciliation, Silas brought a small present with him. It was no secret to him that after the incident Sirius had gotten uncomfortable around dogs. And lonely too, now both the brothers had gone their own way, with Silas often away on missions to every corner of Hyrule. The present was a small puppy, of the same breed as the hound that had ended Sirius' career. Silas reasoned that perhaps if his younger brother spend time with it, he would overcome his fear of dogs before it evolved into an outright phobia, not to mention it could also keep him company. And didn't it just have adorable eyes?

While not… entirely thrilled with the pup, Sirius decided to keep it. Reluctantly. And after a lot of pestering and pleading from Silas.

Silas resumed his duties at court, travelling far and wide in Hyrule, wherever his masters needed him to be. He never let doubt get in his way again, as he had seen what would happen if it did, though it ate at him whenever he found himself alone with his thoughts. He hides these feelings deep inside, covering them up with a cheery smile and light-hearted jokes, refusing to let himself be consumed by it.

    Roleplaying History:
The Sunken City: On the king's orders, Silas ventured into the sinking city of Impa to put an end to the evil lurking there. Alongside his brother, Sirius, he fought the dangers waiting beneath the waves, culminating in a battle against a monstrous lizard threatening to devour everyone in the city. Although he emerged victorious, and is now hailed as a hero along the coast, Silas' arm was gravely wounded. How well it will heal remains to be seen.

Pirates' Fortress: After a mission to wipe out a band of pirates took a turn for the worst, Silas ran into (or rather got tossed in a cell with) the Zora Sigmund. The two had similar goals, as Sigmund wanted to infiltrate the fortress to retrieve a clutch of Zora eggs, and Silas needed to work his way up to take out the captain. But with his arm still incapacitated from the battle at Impa, this proved to be a stiff challenge.

Encounter with the Twister: Against his better judgement, Silas sacrificed his wounded arm, along with some of his skills. The Twister took what he offered in a particular gruesome fashion, an experience that still haunts the Sheikah to this day. But in return Silas was bestowed a new limb, one devoid of pain, a hand fashioned of a strange metal. The hand floats at his side and is capable of repairing any damage it sustains. While relieved at the lack of pain, Silas is ashamed that he gave in to his despair and the trickster entity, opting to cover up the hand when he can.

The Spirits' Playground: Another threat to Hyrule, another mission for Silas. Along with Julius, captain of the guard, and Horus and Luna, a lost pair of Hylians, he ventured deep into Moruge Swamp where a portal to a mysterious dimension had opened; the Starsend Fragment. Inside, they found scattered asteroids amidst a thousand stars, infested with undead, all leading to the center of the very dimension, where a monstrous tree slowly ate at the life of all that entered. During an intense battle against its pure evil, Silas was pulled under by the undead horde, only surviving due to a timely rescue. Although bruised and battered, the group prevailed through sheer willpower, defeating body and spirit alike; even their very own.

Days of our Lives: A week later, the wounds on his body had started to heal, but those on his mind remained as fresh and raw as ever. While on a walk to clear his mind, Silas ran into Julius again. The two spent their day together, bonding over their shared experiences, hobbies and lunch. For just a little while, the horrors of Starsend seemed just a little further away.

Holiday Moblin (2019/2020): Out of curiosity, Silas decided to partake in the Hylian tradition of the Holiday Moblin, writing a heartfelt wish to the fierce fiend in the sky. He received... something in return? A ring, to put on someone. Hmm...
