Ruairi sat down next to Eve, though he started to eye her rather suspiciously as she shared her story. Could it all be true? That this child was actually not a child and had a past of… Smuggling, of all things. Smuggling! The Rito rubbed his forehead, careful to not smudge any of his makeup on his face. Of all the things he got involved with, why did it have to be some crimelord kid…
"Seriously? He asked, though it was hard to say if his voice was that of disbelief or just exasperation, his eyes looking at the girl beside him through his fingers,
"Should I even be here? The whole set-up got shady very fast and I don't want to be involved in anything like that," Ruairi continued, his brow furrowed. The last thing he wanted to do was to be arrested.

Not that he really had all that much time to get out before the anchor already was pulled up and the ship started to move. That motion did soften the Rito's expression, his attention pulled towards the fact that he was on a moving ship for the first time in his life. He stared at the buildings of Darunia that started to slowly but surely move further away… No, it was them that were moving, sliding further out into the open sea, leaving the land behind.

One of the sailors approached them, speaking up to get their attention. Ruairi looked the man up and down, listening to what he had to say, and inspected the relationship he and the girl seemed to have. With a sigh, he crossed his legs.
"More like she did not explain anything. I can't say I know this Captain… Surcoat or whatever, either," the Rito crossed his arms as well and gave a little wave of his hand in a nonchalant manner. He certainly was not the kind of a person anyone else usually wished would protect a friend of theirs, but… He supposed he at the very least was bigger than Eve, physically.
"I suppose our destination has been decided, then?"

Ignoring the subject of Surgate for a moment, Evelyn decided to follow up with what Ruairi was saying.

"Yeah mister where are you dropping us off?" she inquired, pointing her index finger up at the man.

"You might never actually tell me when you'll show up lass. . . but we got somethin' in mind for you two. Thing is you trashed almost every tomb on our fishin' route. That and we'll be needin' some kinda financial windfall if yer gonna put the crew through this every time. I can only think of one place." the captain grunted, pulling the brim of his hat down.

"Where?! What's the last place on the route?" Evelyn badgered, clapping one of her feet down on the deck.

"Patience miss I was getting to that. Now yer gonna want to find a new ferry to get to the rest of the sea, we can't keep doing this. We're headin' to a rough place called Molida island. It's got a full village of people. They've been cowerin' in their houses because of some 'evil spirit' in a tomb of some kind. Figured you could be like that Guardsman and find out what's wrong for the people. Benefits us since we trade with 'em." the captain droned, looking for a reason to get back to his post.

Evelyn tried not to act on her base impulse and call Ruairi "Chickydoo" like she wanted. It seemed like he was frustrated with things as they were going. She was a bit on the unhinged side, but she didn't want to call him any bird names because that seemed a bit racist. Her unique lack of etiquette seemingly didn't involve throwing people's species under the bus.

"Roo- Rui..." she began. Full stop, matter-of-fact, she just couldn't remember names at all. "Rubies." she finally stated, punctuating as she looked at the growing frustration in his face.

"If the strongest guardsman didn't care how illegal some'a this stuff is... I don't think nobody's gonna arrest you for nuthin'." she blurted out with one of the most scathing triple negatives ever concocted.

"He even put me in the guard once! I'll show my credentials to anyone who tries to stop us." she continued babbling as the ship captain had long walked away. Another piece of paper appeared from her pouch. It was just as unreadable and nonsensical as the last document. This one had a little yellow sun-like marking on it that looked like a ribbon/stamp of approval. Some kind of diploma? It was annoyingly clear that she made this herself. What kind of professional guard spent his time with a deranged character like this? In any case, it looked like the weather was gradually starting to clear up.

Ruairi looked at Eve with a raised eyebrow. He had hoped she would at the very least have some sort of idea as to where they were going – surely if she had arranged for a deal like this, she would have told the sailors where they wanted them to ferry her, right? But no, of course not. That would be too sane, wouldn't it. With a slow blink, he turned towards the bearded man, his only source of information. The Rito's posture seemed to ease up and open a bit.
"An evil spirit, huh," he mused, switching his crossed legs the other way around. Perhaps this trip wasn't as shady as he first thought, then, if they actually seemed to care about helping other people. No, listening to what the man had to say, it seemed like Eve was the weird one out, the one who had caused the most problems…

Still, he had no idea what one would even do with an evil spirit. He wasn't exactly experienced with things like that – and as destructive as Eve sounded like, he didn't know if that would be of any help against a spirit.

Ruairi looked back at the kid and sighed as she seemed to try and mangle his name. He probably shouldn't even bother anymore…
"Did he put you in the guard or did you just pretend you were a part of it?" The Rito asked, sounding rather defeated at this point. Honestly, he didn't even really care for the answer, but looking at all these stupid documents the unhinged girl had made herself… Well, he was doubting if anything actually was official. Still, for once, it seemed like the mission they were set up for was a benign one. Ruairi stood up.
"Well, I'm going to enjoy my day off vacation trip on this ship, then. It sounds there will be no time to relax once we actually get to our destination."

He did still look forward to that, after all! The Rito started to walk towards the front deck, stopping every so often to peek over the edge and into the water below. There was so much of it, crashing against the sides of the hull and sending over waves that continued behind them. It was a whole new experience that seemed to excite the young man, a smile appearing on his lips as he allowed himself to be taken in by sea travel. The wind had picked up once they started moving, blowing across his face and tossing his hair, but Ruairi just kept going to the front where he'd have the best look of the sea, even if that also meant braving the elements head on. It was impossible to understand just how large the sea was when one was stuck on land, but now an infinite amount of blue glistening and sparkling in the sun was spread ahead of him, watery mist occasionally splashing against him.

Eve wandered off and arched her head over the side of the boat. She really wished she could play around with her chain knife but the boat was still moving. She didn't really have enough chain to try fishing in the ocean with it off a large vessel like this one. The boat skirted the coast of an island, and the weather seemed to clear up even more. It seemed this island wasn't part of their route as they slowly but scenically passed its vistas. She knew the boat and its crew had to do trading runs and fish at some point, but it seemed they weren't far out enough yet.

The wind quickly chilled the girl as she stood there with a stick pretending to fish. Her childish behavior was certainly a front for something else. She stood there, knowing that talented Rito had been judging her the whole time. She wasn't just in this for the money though. She wanted to show him the challenges and struggles associated with adventuring. Sure, nobody looked at Eve and thought she was a hero, but part of being in a world full of danger and adventures meant shouldering being just another trailblazer in a sea of trailblazers. Though, thinking on it, there was a certain Gerudo woman who insisted that she was some sort of important person in the grand scheme of things. Eve knew she was wrong though, everyone who met that fortune teller knew she was a con artist.

Eve put her stick down and made her way to the front of the boat. She saw Ruairi peeking over the bow. The open sea was ahead of them once again, and a massive patch of black water teased the crew with the whispers of the abyss. The Kokiri expected some sort of sea monster to suddenly sprout out from the vast darkness. Molida Island was out in dangerous waters after all. A whole ship armed with cannons could easily drop a sea monster though, so Eve wasn't that worried.

At this point the sun was blaring on the crew. The wind hadn't died down, but the sun's crisp glow kept everyone warm.

Ruairi liked the sea. That was the conclusion he had come to after his short time of sailing on a ship on calm waters and in pleasant weather. He liked watching the waves – and sometimes he could swear he could see fish swimming close to the surface, if he looked hard enough. The water was dark and deep, so it was hard to tell – but that mystery was also a part of the charm for him. An early morning was never to his liking, but the way the sun had started to creep up in the sky was a pleasant enough feeling, allowing the Rito to bathe in its glow and warmth. He leaned against the wooden railing, his eyes closing as he just took it all in and enjoyed himself.

He could feel the gaze of someone after a moment of just listening to the sounds of the waves and the shrieks of seagulls. Ruairi wasn't alerted, just calmly opening his eyes and looking over his shoulder. It was the kid. Eve. Surprisingly quiet and calm, after everything he had witnessed. He didn't say anything at first either, just making eye contact with the girl, his expression rather neutral.

Perhaps he had been a bit harsh. True, she was annoying and possibly leading him into something much more dangerous than he ever expected. But she was a fan of his. Could someone with taste like that truly be awful?
"…Is something the matter?" The Rito asked, just in case. She had approached him herself, after all. At least, so he thought, seeing that she was just standing there nearby, not saying anything.

Teetering over to the bow where Ruairi was, Eve tilted her head up.

"No actually, uh. I'm just a bit shocked nothing has gone wrong yet." her voice oddly calm and pronounced.

Maybe it wasn't the sea they had to worry about. Maybe the calming boat trip they were having was just an ill omen for when they made landfall. Eve was almost never, ever expecting to go on an outing with someone else and not have dozens of things backfire in a row. Although, thinking back on it revealed to her that the worst things that usually happened were almost always with that Rika kid. The bad luck could have been his and not hers. She thought again about what Ruairi must be feeling. He seemed to be alright despite the pirate shenanigans. Maybe a day away from the stage was just healthy for him somehow.

"It's almost nice out, even." she added, whiffing the salt water air.

It was however, looking like time to relax and wait around until they were anywhere near the island. The truth was, in the interest of time the ship was going to dump them off and then immediately do their trading and fishing route after. Luckily, that meant the wait would most likely involve watching the island get bigger over the horizon as they drew near it. However, Eve was hoping to get some kind of real fishing in today. Maybe she could save that for the island.

Ruairi straightened his back and turned to face Eve more after her words – much faster than one would have expected, surely, considering how relaxed he had been a moment ago.
"No no no. You never say those words, no matter what. Even if it's a nice day, even if nothing is happening, even if it's – I don't even dare to say the q-word… You can't say it. The words themselves invite disaster," he lectured the girl and seemed to be completely serious in his own way, though he clearly liked spicing up his speeches with some theatrical poses and stops for drama. As a child of theater, the Rito of course grew up with many superstitions around him – and not all theater-related. Silly it may have been, but he could attest that there was truth in those words. In his mind, at least.

He did looked around, as if he was waiting for something, suspecting the worst. Nothing seemed to be happening, so it looked like Ruairi's tenseness started to melt away. Perhaps those thoughtless words weren't heard by whatever it was that made sure to cause chaos. He looked back at the girl.
    "Always remember that."

    "Always remember that."

As usual, it seemed like Eve was hung up on something else the Rito said previously. More specifically, she was wondering what the "q-word" was. As force of habit, her first guess was "qunt." That's what that word started with, right? She listened to the windy air and slowly noticed something, however.

"Yeah I dunno. Most people jus' expect me to cause trouble. I can be clumsy sometimes! Which is weird that it's kind of awfully quiet." she gestured her hand in the air. Oh, that was a q-word wasn't it? She thought about how actors and stage workers usually say "break a leg," but she had a habit of saying things like that to her enemies. Something appeared on the surface of the black water as Eve tilted her head over the bow. It kind of looked like fur.

Out of the water jumped a whole tiny school of flying fish. Their little fins looked like hair as it grazed the seafoam. That was weird, Eve was used to Eye Plants poking their heads out at this part of the sea. Their ship had the firepower to defeat one, but with the weather so nice she would rather not see one. She did notice something small on the horizon, but it was probably nothing. Most likely just birds picking at something.

Ruairi stared at the girl, just deflating as he lost his posture and his shoulders hung with great disappointment.
"And you said it," he said, his voice barely audible. He couldn't believe how fast that happened, almost in a state of disbelief – and he almost seemed defeated, in a way, like everything he could have done had been done and it wasn't good enough. Like everything was lost now. The Rito was glad that the ship didn't immediately hit something that caused it to sink. Nothing had attacked them, either, but he still glanced around him just in case he could see the incoming disaster before it struck. He was so on edge, that a splash his ears hadn't gotten used to caused Ruairi to immediately dart to look over the side, expecting the worst.

It was just fish. Lots of fish, yes, but they were small and very nonthreatening. Strange-looking, though, with their absurdly long fins and how they jumped out of the water for such a long time. Ruairi didn't know too much about fish, so he couldn't say what kind of fish they were. He was pretty sure he had never seen any of them cooked in front of him, either – surely he would have remembered those odd fins! The fish proved to be distracting enough for him to forget his worries.
    "Ah. Are those edible?"

Still nearby as Ruairi was talking, Eve looked over the side at the small fish.

"Well the gulls eat those." she started, scanning the Rito. "Most Hylians and Kokiri don't eat small fish like that but I think those things are done to keep big fish sus- sustain. . . able."

Eve looked over, down the side of the ship. "That man over there has a telescope. I wanna know what he sees."

A long and tall man in a white coat with a thick yellow ruff was standing there, staring down his telescope. Eve teetered up to him, mousily looking up at the man. He was very quiet and a little intimidating. She held onto her bag strap and looked up at his face to ask him the million rupee question.

"Mister! What d'ya see out there? That cloud 'a birds." Eve asked, eyes wandering from the imposing silent man's visage.

After a short and awkward silence he spoke up. "Ho ho!!! Indeed that it is a cloud of birds! But do my eyes deceive me that they are gulls plucking at something. That something below the water is directly in our path of travel." he announced almost poetically.

"Old man. If we're heading straight for a monster. . ." Eve trailed off. Then why wasn't he telling the crew?

It was unusual, yes. But some people just liked to see big monster fights. She didn't want to think about what that meant for his concern for their safety. Eve quickly ran back to Ruairi.

"Chickydoo! We gotta tell the captain there's a monster out there." she urged the Rito. "We'll at least get in trouble if we put the ship in danger."

Ruairi raised an eyebrow at the way the girl's eyes looked at him when she mentioned seagulls – he certainly would have had a lot to say if she was going to say what he at first assumed she would say, but luckily for her, she didn't.
"I am of the impression that seagulls eat anything," he replied, before turning his gaze back at the sea. There were so many little fishes down there. With a fishing rod, it would be really annoying to catch enough of them for a meal, but if one brought down a net and caught a whole bunch at once… Surely that could would be enough.

The Rito was leaning against the railing, wistfully peering below, though he gave Eve a glance once she mentioned she wanted to go bother someone else. Off she went, and he would occasionally look back at her and the man with the telescope, but he didn't care enough to actually follow her. Ruairi didn't have to, as soon the kid ran back to him, alerting him of a monster. Immediately, he stood up, his eyes wide.
"A… Monster?" He couldn't believe what he had heard. Was this a joke of hers? Eve didn't seem like she was joking, and as he looked at the sea… Well, he couldn't see it. He did lack a telescope, however. Why a monster on his day off, of all things!
"Why… Why haven't they raised an alarm, or something!" The Rito cried out, very unaware of what one was even supposed to do on a ship in cases like these. Alerting everyone would be important, yet it was the two of them in charge of that?

Nevertheless, even if the situation confused him, he was following Eve to the captain.

"I dunno!" Eve squeaked. "Let's go to th' captain quickly."

Eve went with Ruairi and shuffled to the helm where the captain was overseeing another crew member steer the ship. The captain stood there in his regal coat and fishing overalls, centering his eyes on the two fabulous kids heading his way. He put down his map and compass into a large box of seafaring navigation gear.

"What'sa matter?" he shot at the pair as they whizzed over to him.

"Ho-ho won't tell anyone there's a sea monster ahead that's what!" Eve snapped back.

"Oh him? He's watched us turn countless monsters into skill cheese with our cannons." he replied calmly.

That didn't ease the Kokiri's mind. They could have easily spotted the ruckus ahead and went around it by now. Eve held her hand up and felt for the direction of the wind. It didn't seem like the wind speed would impede them from not going directly forward. Having been honorary first mate on pirate ships didn't make her an expert though. She was usually given special treatment because she was too small to do anything useful. Her Power Bracelets did make her a first choice for moving crates around though.

"We're all thinkin' it right? Why don't we just go around?" Eve replied immediately.

The captain had an immediate response. "Yer talkin' about a number 'a dangerous turns miss. Not ta' mention all the sharp rocks, turnin' now would be suicide when we can just shoot a monster down."

The cloud of seagulls was now close enough to see with the naked eye. The tides swirled underneath it as it was now abundantly clear little tentacles were poking out from the surface of the water. The tips of the tentacles rose out of the water, tapering from large to colossal in seconds. The captain shouted something incomprehensible onto the wind and a trio of sailors quickly raised and armed the forward cannon. Eve's face changed from panicked to confused and then to terrified in seconds. She had fought monsters before but right now they were heading toward this thing at almost full speed.

Ruairi rushed over to the captain, of course convinced that this was now a very serious and dangerous situation for them all to be in. It had been enough of a shock for his breath to grow ragged, forced to catch it once they stopped. He had expected the bearded man to react in a similar way and be worried, but… No. He was calm, just like the rest of the ship – and he thought that was only happening because the rest didn't know! Perhaps they did know. Perhaps they weren't worried. The captain looked so certain, with no hint of hesitation or even the slightest smallest thought that perhaps they couldn't do it. The Rito's chest heaved in a more noticeable manner until the took a big inhale to stabilize his breathing, his gaze looking towards the sea and the seagulls. It almost seemed like there were tentacles rising from the water.

A smile appeared on Ruairi's lips as he stood up straight, looking awfully confident himself as well. He had been silly rushing after Eve – she was a weirdo! Literally everyone else on the ship was completely fine, so obviously, it was going to be safe. If anything, it started to seem like he was getting quite excited, his eyes sparkling as he looked back.
"Well then! That sounds like a show that should not be missed," his smile was now showing white teeth, a flash of light in the middle of his darker feathers,
"Where should I sit? Close to the front? That would be exciting! But perhaps I could be hit by a splash of water that would ruin my hair – or worse, some monster spillage! That would be horrid, that won't do," Ruairi pondered, perhaps thinking out loud to himself towards the end. Still, he felt it to be important that he could see the spectacle in all its glory.
    "Full speed ahead, Captain!"

"No, no!" Eve bungled. "Slow down!" But it was too late, the ship's momentum was already at maximum and nobody was going to listen to her. The Kokiri was thinking about a scale model of a ship falling and crashing into an Eye Plant and then into a million pieces at once like some kind of flimsy toy. If only her fairy were here to comfort her with one of her intense and long-winded conspiracy-prophecy-theories.

Just then, what appeared to be an actual Eye Plant surfaced from the swirling water. Evelyn watched the sailors cheer as the manageable threat made its appearance. The main cannon was armed and ready to blast its poor swollen head off. Something odd was happening, however. Next to the Eye Plant were a pair of massive, almost fleshy looking flowers poking out of the water. Eve pulled on her own hair, forcibly frowning as she knew something was up. With her luck, at least, she figured it wasn't just a regular monster.

The cannon blasted away at the swaying, almost dead looking Eye Plant. That was stranger still, as it flopped around like a limp noodle. The waves churned as tentacles came up in every direction. The Eye Plant lurched upward as something beneath it caused waves to erupt. Out from below the Eye Plant rose a mountain-sized head of what looked like a Big Octo with deceptively decorative tropical flowers poking off the sides of its head. It was using the lifeless plant as some sort of angler-fish like decoy to draw prey closer. Their ship was heading straight towards the gargantuan cephalopod.

"Shit! Shit!" Eve threw her hands in the air.

The Octo turned around and started to swim away, shoving the boat about like a huge bath toy. The waves shook the crew, but they were harmlessly avoided by the monster. It was incredibly smart, it seemed. Even something that huge would be inconvenienced by the injury that would result from a ship exploding into its face. The ship bounced up and down, bringing most of the crewmates to the floor.

The massive Octo swished around on the waves and laid its body against a small, rocky island. It was apparently getting ready to sunbathe. How fitting for a vacation adventure. Molida island was also starting to appear in the distance, and it looked like they were getting pretty close.

By now, Ruairi had pushed all of Eve's protests aside, just growing more and more excited with the rest of the crew as they cheered and hollered. With such a cheery atmosphere, he couldn't feel scared or even a little worried, finding himself a good place nearby so he could peer to the front of the ship and see all the action and cheer everyone on. He almost felt like a young child again, his eyes sparkling with wonder as he waited with bated breath. He could see some kind of strange… Eye-thing flopping on the surface of the water, looking like it could easily be taken down by just ramming the ship into it. But no, the crew had something better in mind, Ruairi grinning when he saw the cannon being readied.

The loud boom was surprising enough for him to flinch and close his eyes, despite having readied himself for it. The scent of gunpowder mixed with the smell of the sea. Ruairi forced his eyes open, having missed the exact moment of the cannonball shooting out, but luckily he had been fast enough to see the hit! He too cheered, feeling so powerful as he watched the weird eye-plant thing flop around lifelessly in the air.

But if it was dead, shouldn't it be falling into the–

That was as far as the Rito's thoughts got, before something rose from the sea. Something much, much larger, with an odd body and… What seemed like a large mouth. There were eyes too, he believed? He didn't manage to get a very good look. Ruairi's own mouth had opened by now as well, though no sound managed to escape until the waves started to crash against the ship, causing it to be thrown rather violently into so many directions. Up and down, side to side, he was forced to grab onto the first thing he could to try to keep his balance… But even that wasn't enough and he eventually found himself against the deck with a surprised squeal, the impact hard enough to force the air out of his lungs.

It almost felt like the monster had gotten the ship, grabbing it and throwing it around. Perhaps hitting it with something and causing them damage? Ruairi couldn't get up as the ship shook, sliding and rolling where the force of the momentum pushed him. He couldn't see what was happening, of course assuming that they were under attack as he heard the crewmates yell, the ship creak and groan, and the water splash onto the deck over the edges, but it didn't take long until the movements started to wind down, growing slower and more gentle. Almost like… Like they weren't in danger anymore. Calming silence.

The Rito was still lying on the deck face down, a bit confused about which way was up at the moment.

"You awright Chicky?" Eve asked rhetorically. It looked like everyone was alive and well.

She wiped a drizzle of blood off her nose with a small cloth. She then got up and tossed it somewhere safe. It would be unfortunate if her usually-irrelevant toxic blood put a sailor in the hospital. Speaking of sailors, she spotted a certain lad running up the stairs to see what had just happened. He was wearing a really poofy shirt and had a plainly coquettish face.

At this point, many of the sailors were relaying stories to each other about what happened to try to line up stories and figure out what it was. As the cacophony of stories went back and forth, everyone had eventually agreed that the monster was scared of their might and fled in terror. It was close enough a story to what occurred in any case. Evelyn went out over to the bow again, fully prepared to just wait to land after all of that nonsense.

The shining beaches of the island were starting to sparkle as they got closer. It appeared at least to be an ordinary village along the beach and the island was otherwise small. It was by all means perfect for what Eve had planned. Her plans this time were strange as usual but not at all malicious.

"Ugh," came a response from the Rito still sprawled on the deck, slowly stirring but not yet getting up. His head was spinning, and even when he finally managed to sit up, he wasn't entirely sure if he really was sitting or still lying down. Ruairi rubbed his face, slowly opening his eyes to give them some time to get used to seeing again – but it did help a bit in him starting to get his bearings again, staring at the wooden railing of the ship.
    "What even… Happened."

Ruairi started to slowly get up, propping himself onto his feet with the aid of his hands. Finally, he could see the sea again – and there was no sign of the strange monster they had just run into a moment earlier. The sailors were talking loudly, perhaps just as confused, but it became quite obvious that there was no danger at the moment. Surely, if the hull had suffered some sort of a hit that had caused a hole, everyone would be a lot more worried right about now.

And his hair had come undone, too. The Rito frowned once he saw the loose locks on his shoulders, forced to go through them with his fingers to try to roll and stuff them back into form. It was such a difficult thing to do without a mirror, too! He was pouting as he started to walk towards the stairs, pushing aside some frou-frou sailor on the way down with an annoyed not today, as he strode towards the bow of the ship, still fixing his hair.

It was where Eve had gone, too. She was a fast one, that much was certain. It was rather strange how she had been the only one objecting to ramming the monster, but… Well, surely that was nothing! They had survived, so it wasn't a bad idea, or anything! Ruairi's gaze did eventually find the shore that was peeking over the horizon, his mood instantly lifted as he rushed the rest of the way, stopped only by the railing.
"Are we going there?" He asked, clearly excited as he stared towards land so eagerly. It seemed like a quaint little village with such wonderful beaches…

"Should be landin' there! 'S gotta be Molida. It's uh... a lot smaller than I imagined." Eve retorted.

Meanwhile, on the island. . .

A tall Rito stood with a spiked-up black and white hairdo, peering out on the water with his thick goggles. He sported several necklaces made of artisan colored beads as well as bone and tooth ornaments. His defining characteristic however was his long wing-sleeves which flowed off his arms like a long cape. He twisted his fingers on his goggles to adjust the focus. That boat was the one he was waiting for. After receiving correspondence from his bulbous-headed Zora counterpart, he had found the evidence required to track the Kokiri. With that Hylian guard, the two of them had foiled their mysterious plans revolving around a Zora settlement, its inhabitants, and Jabu-Jabu. It was unclear whether he expected the Hylian to be on the boat as well, or if he had more plans for his Kokiri subordinate. Either way, the foreboding Rito had to make his move.

It was at this point the ship was preparing to dock at Molida. Sailors swirled around the decks preparing barrels and crates of goods to trade with the islanders as soon as they docked. The ship rocked and thundered as it jostled against the pier, the sailors preparing the ropes to secure to the dock. Eve was filled with joy, anticipating the fun she was going to have on the beach and the mystery of meeting the island inhabitants. Thanks to their early departure, the sun was still somewhat high in the sky as well. The sailor with the poofy shirt appeared once again to rig the ropes to the dock, it looked like he wasn't so high ranking on the boat.

The captain showed his face once more. "Get a move on lass, I don't think yer bad luck but I'm not takin' any chances." he gruffly ushered the girl off the ship.

Ruairi tilted his head, looking at the village that was approaching them, slowly but surely. A small place, perhaps, he could admit that. But was that even a bad thing? It would be quiet. There wouldn't be too many people around. Perhaps he could have the whole beach to himself! Now that would be something – especially if there was a place for good food and drinks nearby! He couldn't help but smile widely at such thoughts.

As excited as he had been about the ocean trip, the Rito seemed to be quite happy once the ship started its docking preparations, clearly looking forward to getting back on land. Perhaps it had been the appearance of the monster that made sailing less fun… Or perhaps he was just interested in the new experience dangled in front of him. As soon as the ship had come to a stop and the gangplank connected the ship with the docks, Ruairi already leaped onto it with impressive speed and the agility of a cat, enjoying the feel of the bounce underneath his feet. He took another big inhale of the new island smell, his eyes closing for a moment as he felt the pleasant warmth of the sun… Yes, this would be a good little vacation.

Though he started to feel like he had forgotten something. Something… Important…

"…Was there supposed to be a dungeon here?"

"It's on the island somewhere." Eve replied right away. "Let me just go on vacation for a second."

Reaching the end of the pier, Eve twirled around in a flash of light while tugging her skirt like a square dancer. Out of the bright light came the doppelganger from her Transform Ego spell. It was her in most ways, but was wearing a very covering one-piece swimsuit with a lot of unnecessary frills on it. Eve forced a parasol onto the copy and gave her a small shove to send her on her way. Something that stood out right away were a number of purplish scars with stitch marks on her arms and legs.

"Extra Eve is going to hang out on the beach." she added almost off-handedly.

The copy walked casually over to a number of wood and straw lounge chairs on the beach. Putting down the parasol, the copy laid back on the chair with the shade blocking the harsh rays completely. From what Ruairi saw of her so far, he probably expected her to make sand castles or something rather than lounge around like a grown adult.

At around this time, a tall Rito with long wings brushed past them. "Pardon me." he excused himself. He worked his way down the pier toward the boat. He quickly took off as if the pier was a runway. As he took flight with his massive wings, then fired off a spell immediately. His powerful Spire spell broke out from the sand underwater and immediately pierced the hull of the boat. The boat started to take on water immediately as the shady Rito flew away into the distance.
