Ruairi took a step to the side as the bunny monster finally started rolling. He was actually a bit excited to see the plan in action as it picked up speed and approached the defenseless chuchu, rolling over it without any issues. What was left on the floor was a wet stain and his boomerang – now covered in slime. Even the poor bunny had a green stain on its body. Ruairi's face scrunched up as the slimy boomerang was offered to him, picking it up between two of his fingers like it was diseased – and he let out a disgusted groan when Even mentioned that it stains. Perhaps he would have liked to hear that before he touched it – but at least he was prevented from wiping it off to his clothes!

"You handle the slimes. Keep rolling that bunny and mow down anything that we come across! I can… Probably… Handle the flying ones…"

The Rito looked at his poor, slimy boomerang. Maybe it'd come off as he started to throw it around again…

    Eve responded surprisingly quickly.

"I'd like to roll him again but it's g'nnae be harder with 'em strugglin'." she gave Ruairi the once over in regards to his other statement. "Just trust yer instinct and those Keese 'll be no problem."

As a last-minute spark of inspiration Eve tried to shove some of the blocks over, but something was preventing the wall from coming apart. Without any additional hope she continued along the path with Ruairi. Their hesitancy was proven a bit silly as the blocks led to a simple corner exposing the rest of the room as the series of blocks halted.

As Ruairi had pointed out, there were a number of other ChuChus and Keese littering the open empty space. As expected of the Temple, as there had been one on the opposite side of the complex was yet another sudden drop instead of a flush wall. It was probably there to act as a barrier for intruders as something could have been unsatisfactory about a solid wall. Eve remembered all the times she attempted to skip parts of dungeons by smashing into the wall with something heavy. While the mechanism of this chasm wasn't specifically intended for her it was certainly effective at dissuading individuals like herself. She also knew of some individuals who could phase through walls but that was likely not the deciding factor of this design as much of the rest of the Temple used simple walls. That's when she remembered the outside of the Temple being protected by the portal, and it seemed likely the surrounding chasm was meant to stop intruders from coming in through the ground. Eve knew of the existence of such miners that would find digging such tunnels into Temples to be something of a welcome challenge.

"Weird cliff." is all she had to say about that entire situation. She turned her attention to some of the bumbling ChuChus.

Ruairi didn't dare to grab his boomerang properly now that it was dripping with goo, lest he stained his gloves any worse than he already surely had! That color of green was not his color! The strange blocks that, well, blocked their path and made them walk through premade corridors ended soon, and the room opened up. They weren't alone, either, as more monsters had made their way into this part of the temple as well. Open room meant there was more space to maneuver… But also less cover. The Rito took advantage of Eve and the round bunny, stepping behind them so they would take the brunt of attacks from anything that came nearby.

He didn't waste any time, either! While it still seemed like the monsters hadn't quite noticed them, Ruairi let his boomerang loose by throwing it in the air – and was unfortunately forced to grab it so he could throw it with enough strength. It spun as it flew through the air, his whistles changing its path with what at least appeared to be magic. An unaware keese was an easy target, poofing out with a high-pitched squeak as the boomerang slammed against one before returning back to the Rito's hand.

The closest ChuChu teetered around, its head bobbling like a car antenna. Eve braced herself, but she was too late. The awkward and fast wobbling of the ChuChu guided the broad side of its head directly into Eve's face. The forces at play launched the Kokiri backward and the most pain came when her head collided with the floor.

The sudden face trauma led her to let go of her rope and the Pols Voice began to wander forward on its own. The bunny like glob must have been hungry because it began to inhale through its nose, and in no time at all it sucked a full ChuChu all the way up its nose. It still looked somewhat terrified and unsatisfied as it continued to wobble away.

Dizzy as all get out, Eve thrust herself to her feet as her arm pushed back the violent ChuChu above her. The ChuChu drooled and chewed on her arm with its rubbery mouth. Eve activated her Harvest Ring and immediately combined the resulting pumpkin with the ChuChu's head. With it reeling, she thrust her dagger into its lower body and turned it instantly to ice. What resulted was an incredibly odd ice sculpture with a partially broken pumpkin for a head.

Wasting no time, Eve ran and grabbed the rope to pull the Pols Voice back.

Ruairi felt like a true monster hunter as he caught his boomerang, beaming with pride after taking down a single bat. Of course, that attack had alerted all the monsters that were now very aware of their presence, causing the masses of chuchus to start sliding towards them. There even were more keese that started to fly in their direction! The Rito ducked down as one swooped over him – and when he saw all the slimes around Eve, he backed away to make sure that he wouldn't attract their attention. He might have felt a little bad about it, but… He wouldn't be able to fight them off.

"Th-The bunny is escaping!" He suddenly called out, when he saw the large monster's leash falling out of Eve's hand in the middle of the fight, and it clearly wanted to try to make an attempt at freedom – though not before it literally inhaled one of the slimes into it. Ruairi had no idea they ate chuchus… And he didn't know if he should be impressed or disgusted.

But he had to pry his eyes away from that monster and focus on the ones coming for his face. This time, the Rito was ready, throwing his boomerang right at a bat that was swooping in closer.

Eve was finally having a better time as she noticed Ruairi providing cover fire from the Keese. They were becoming the biggest hazard, too. Luckily for the trio of companions, the Keese were flying in a pack and not just approaching one by one. If they had rushed over while the ChuChus were a threat the group would have been overrun.

Eve dug around in her pouch for something to help Ruairi fend off the approaching small cloud of Keese. She pulled out her Ghastly Doll, then stared at it knowing full well it did not have the ability to fly. She continued to dig around and found herself unable to grab anything useful.

"I need a bow or a slingshot or a boomerang like all the other 'venturers 'ave." she complained.

She tossed her dagger into the crowd and held tight to its chain. The small weapon had no trouble knocking out a Keese in the tight grouping. There were still at least five more fluttering around and they were already in biting range. Eve grabbed her Book of Mudora and slammed it through the air. Her hefty tome swing knocked three of them painfully to the ground.

"ARRH They're on me!" she scourged as her arms flailed at the menacing Keese.

By now, the bats that had been rather easy pickings had turned into an angry swarm that came at the duo dangerously fast. Ruairi threw his boomerang at them again, but try as he might, he really wasn't all that good about hitting more than one at a time! By the time he managed to steer his boomerang in the air, the bats had moved somewhere else – and in this case, much, much closer! He grabbed this boomerang and prepared to throw it again before they were overrun, but he made the mistake of looking over to Eve as she continued digging through her pouch. She had a knife she could use, so Ruairi was quite certain that she was looking for some kind of an ultimate weapon that would fix the situation in a heartbeat.

What came out instead was a book. It could have been a book of spells or something, but no – the Rito did recognize it after a moment, confusion taking over. His mind only hurt more as he watched the small Kokiri… Bash the swarm of bats with the book. It actually was somewhat effective with the bats being slammed against the ground and looking very disoriented if not broken, but the mere idea of using a book to just hit enemies was too much.

Ruairi had just stood there, ready to throw, but unable to. Luckily for him, Eve had provided to be quite the magnet for monsters, giving him plenty of time as the keese kept flying swooping in and biting her. But what could he really do when he risked throwing the boomerang into the girl? There was no simple answer. Ruairi just awkwardly hobbled over and gave a look at his boomerang, still stained with the occasional glob of slime. His fingers wrapped around it as tight as they could as the Rito let out a battlecry and started whacking in the general direction of Eve and the keese. Obviously, he was trying to hit the bats, but the girl was flailing and moving about so much, there was bound to be collateral damage.

It was quite inevitable. Ruairi's boomerang dropped and clipped Eve's elbow. Before she could let out so much as a yelp she tumbled down, her arm bending almost the wrong way. Ruairi's flailing boomerang did swat down a couple Keese. Thankfully, the flock was now thin enough to not be a threat. The last one or two Keese were startled by this friendly fire and actually took off as the Kokiri noisily hit the floor.

"Ssss that stings ahh." Eve whimpered as she clutched her weirdly bent arm.

The kid snapped back her elbow into place, clumsily and loudly. It seemed to be less so damaged as it was bent the wrong way. The ChuChu group had also thinned enough, whichever one was left was now being chased around by the Pols Voice. That silly creature had turned out to be useful after all.

As if by some sort of act of defiance, Eve started to storm away toward the north end of the outer room. Her bravery was well rewarded. As she scuttled to the other end of the room, a Beamos had let loose and projected its burning gaze down on her. The somewhat explosive force of the surprisingly solid beam knocked her somewhat back. She rolled to stay out of the sentinel's range.

"Shit I'm hit! Stay back there!" she yelled. It would be counterproductive to let Ruairi try to deal with a Beamos this early.

Ruairi's frantic flailing had managed to actually do something: the keese were either hit or decided to disperse, clearly intimidated by such a madman. But it wasn't just the monsters he had managed to damage: Eve too had suffered hits from his mighty boomerang swings – though luckily for her, the Rito was far from having very strong arms that could cause serious damage to most people. Still, when the Kokiri fell on the ground, that was when Ruairi realized he had to stop swinging – he hadn't even really been watching where he had flailed for a while, so the sound honestly was what tipped him off.

Eve managed to get up just fine, though, so it couldn't have been too bad! She was just fine. Until she peeked behind a corner and ended up being shot with something that sounded explosive – and it definitely had enough power to force her to be pushed back!
"Y-You don't have to tell me twice!" Ruairi yelled back at her warning. No way was he going to try going in that direction and get blasted with something like that, too! It would most definitely ruin either his makeup or hair!
    "What even is that!"

"Augh shite shitt shitte." Eve babbled as she scrambled like a spider monkey over to Ruairi.

"That's Beam. . .O. Beamos? Sounds plural but there's only one ri-nnow." she gestured, poking her gloved arms through the air in some sort of sign language.

"'S like a tower w'innae eye on it. It goes booom booom beeeee---! Shoots a big line of light like BAM POW. It can kill ye in seconds." she waved her arms around.

Eve looked Ruairi all the way up and down. If he had some sort of buckler or shield he could block it. Out of her Adventure Pouch, Eve yanked out a pocket mirror for doing her makeup with.

"We're in pig shit." she announced as she started walking toward the Beamos with the pocket mirror. She waved the mirror as she entered its range. The beam started to come out, and her arm waved around quickly to try to catch the beam. From Ruairi's position, he would hear a very loud pop, like the sound of a million balloons being caught on a cactus. The beam caught Eve in the side, she blocked the beam with the mirror and it instantly exploded.

At this point, the eccentric Kokiri ran over to the tower-like enemy and clung to its blind spot. The shredded mirror seemed to have ripped up her glove on her right hand. She was also absolutely bleeding and burned in several places. She'd have to be somewhat shocked if this sort of thing wasn't an everyday occurrence for her. She started wrapping some sort of off-brand bandage onto her arm. She would have looked dumber than usual if she wasn't trying to tend to her own wounds. The beam above her was jutting around in every which direction. The Beamos knew she was below it but not exactly where.

With her hand wrapped up, Eve grabbed the tower and tried to lift it. There was a slight budge, and the Beamos tilted as one would tilt any heavy column. With its sudden loss of balance the entire thing tipped over and fell on its eye-like head. The beam continued to blaze against the wall in many directions but eventually powered off.

"Coast is clear we can go through!" she yelled over. Her face was locked on the awkwardly trembling device.

Ruairi frowned as Eve scuttled back, parts of her burned as she explained about some creature he really didn't want to come face to face with. That sounded deadly, and he was not looking to die yet when he wasn't as famous as he wanted! Ruairi already started to look around for another route they could take to not have to deal with the murder machine, before Eve bounced back behind the corner to do… Something to the thing blocking their way. The Rito flinched as there were strange pops and creaks and high pitched droning sounds and what certainly must have been explosions. The air was filled with the smell of burning cloth and flesh, and the burning smell of whatever else he didn't want to know the source of. After a crash of metal, there was… Relative silence. Something was still gyrating against the floor, and Eve was giving the all clear sign…

The Rito did manage to see the bunny monster sneaking off again, now that the chuchus were taken care of. With a few quick steps, he grabbed the rope to stop it in its tracks as best as he could, digging his heels in.
"Not – oof – so fast!" He called out to the monster as he started to drag and pull it to the best of his ability, clearly doing a much worse job at it than Eve had. He was far from a monster wrangler, and the stupid bunny wasn't really looking forward to cooperating. Still, somehow, Ruairi managed to drag the dang thing past the corner, huffing and sweating the whole way.

Eve hobbled over to Ruairi. She looked at the back of her hand, wrenched out a piece of glass and let it drop to the floor. She swiped the rope and pulled at the Pols Voice. Her Power Bracelets gleamed a little as she tugged the creature across the floor.

"Guess we go deeper." she mentioned, turning her head to the hallway.

She didn't take any breaks and pulled the lumpy creature over the fallen Beamos. When the darkness went away, there was an open chasm. While the walls on each side were lined with very visible torch sconces, the foggy depths went straight down to blackness. There appeared to be something written on the wall in the hallway. The Pols Voice looked kind of dizzy and exhausted from struggling against the rope. Eve let go for now and examined her Book of Mudora.

"Looks like it says Barve." she noted, flipping the pages. "No. it says 'Brave.'" she corrected herself, her cut hand smudging the pages.

Ruairi was happy to relinquish the rope, deflating as he let out a heavy sigh. Who knew such a soft-looking creature would be so heavy, when it just looked like it was made of pure fluff? Seemed to be made of pure flub, instead. After gathering himself for a moment, the Rito straightened his back and gave a quick brush to his clothes – and a quick shake to the boomerang to try to dislodge as much goop from it as he could before he put it into its holster.

He walked past the weird mechanical tower thing carefully, eyeing it as it trembled and let out the occasional creak or buzz. He didn't like it one bit, but he pressed onwards after the girl, heading deeper into the temple's hallways. But what they found was a dead end, a chasm that led down into dark depths. Ruairi inched to the edge, peering over – he couldn't even see the bottom! He glanced over his shoulder as Eve deciphered a message.
"Brave, huh," he hummed as he looked back into the chasm,
"What, they want us to jump in?"

Before the two could even solve the puzzle, and as the very words were leaving Ruairi's lips, the Pols Voice started moving. It used its outrageously acute hearing to figure out that the chasm was actually solid ground and began to flop around on the invisible bridge. Eve sighed heavily and continued wrapping her arms in cheap bandages.

"'S not how it used ta be." she lamented, continuously grabbing at the rope.

She followed the long eared creature across the transparent expanse. The opening on the other side led into a roomy chamber. Looking feverishly, Eve noticed a shut door on her left when entering the room. There was a somewhat open chamber with a circle of stones in the middle. Within the flat circle of floor was a simple pair of ordinary bows with an array of scattered arrows.

"Oi maties! It's be a Fairy™ bow!" she cheered in delight.

Her head tilted down and she didn't pay much mind to whatever else the room contained.

Ruairi glanced over his shoulder as he felt the movement from the bunny monster, its girth causing every thump it took to send small tremors along the ground. Seemed like the thing wanted to hog all the glory, hopping along until it came to the edge, and… Not stopping. But it didn't fall, no – there was a pathway there, it just was very difficult to see. But after seeing that, Ruairi took a step onto the path as well, noticing that there was a faint layer of dust that did make it visible if one squinted – and there was a difference in air currents when he placed his hand over areas that were open into the depth below.

"Showoff," the Rito huffed as he walked after the bunny, taking note of the path they had to take based on his previous notes. It still felt strange to be standing on top of what looked like nothing, above an endless chasm – was this how it would be to fly?

The path conveniently took them over without any issues – no hidden traps where it was suddenly cut off, causing poor adventurers to plummet into their doom. Then again, that would be a slap in the face of the message this path was trying to give them. The room they found was luckily free of monsters, but there was something of interest in the middle. Ruairi allowed Eve to take a look there as he circled over to what seemed to be a blocked door, reaching out to it. Was this where they had to go next?
"Can you even shoot a bow?" He asked, when the Kokiri mentioned the bows lying around.

His sudden question was benign in nature.

But his taunt would change the course of their whole adventure.

"COURSE I CAN shoot the bow!" Eve yelled. She snatched a fairy bow off the ground.

Eve pulled the string tight with an arrow notched, then aimed it straight up and pulled as hard as she could. She spotted a navy colored Moldorm clinging to the wall up near the foggy heights of the ceiling. As she caught eyes on the monster, her arm pulled all the way back. The bow snapped loudly, sending a quaking feeling throughout the chamber. Wood flecks powdered the air and the bow fell uselessly in two large pieces to the floor.

A second Moldorm entered the corner of her eye. Eve sprung back, getting ready to fight. Her knife appeared in her hand.

"Aw look what happened! Ah! Crawlies!" she snapped as everything happened in sequence.

The Moldorms honestly took their time preparing their attack. They sort of had to crawl all the way down the wall. Eve waved her dagger around, somewhat anxiously expecting the monsters to come down eventually. She teased her own brain trying to think of ways Ruairi made her break the bow. She couldn't blame the poor guy, and if anything she sort of pictured sparkles and sick mood lighting around him as she looked at the Rito.

"It's not yer fault Chickydoo you were just curious. We gotta fight these!"

Ruairi hadn't expected such an explosive reaction, turning around as the Kokiri snatched one of the bows and tried to shoot with it. And it snapped. In half. The wood was old and hadn't been taken care of in ages, no longer flexible enough to handle the tension of being pulled taut. It was loud, in the silence of the temple, and feeling like it echoed for a much longer time than it should.

But there were monsters in the ceiling. Eve had at least managed to see them as she tried to shoot them, but the sound seemed to have made them take notice and start their movement towards the intruders. Now those were some big… Centipedes? Something like that! It seemed like they might have had a hard carapace covering them. Ruairi looked at Eve and then to himself. Would a small knife like that get through? His boomerang probably wouldn't.

"O-Of course it's not my fault!" He called back – why was she even trying to place fault on anyone because a pair of bugs had made their homes in some musty old temple? Nor had he done anything to the bows to make them brittle!
"Think fast!" The Rito continued, as he shot out his boomerang at one of the monsters. They were still much too far for close combat and it seemed like it would take a while for them to crawl down – which meant that speed and range were on their side, if his plan worked. The boomerang soared through the air, making a wide turn… And hitting one of the Moldorms from the side. It didn't seem like it would damage the creature, but hitting its legs had made it lose its grip as it came crashing down with a much louder thump than one would expect.

But it was on the floor now, and looked a bit dazed as it tried to flip back to its feet.

"Whoa great shot!" Eve jumped again as the centipede thing bounced on the floor.

She ran over to the bulbous red segment on the end of the unnerving creature and lodged her dagger into the surprisingly soft flesh. She knew this was how to do it, somehow. Watching it rile made her nervous as its legs swung and came awfully close to cutting at her.

"These things. Not sure if I saw one in person yet but rumor is you hit them here." she gasped, explaining frantically.

Odds were she had seen them, probably one of their more common yellow, hairy varieties. Moldorms were a rupee a dozen in mainland Hyrule. Being big centipedes, it was more likely to be a sight you'd never forget. Eve's arm came up and then crashed down again. They weren't convenient to take out when they took so many hits. Eve's friends would probably make fighting these look like child's play.

"Regardsless! Try taking the other one out. 'S not too bad if ya flip it over again." Eve recommended. "Or try out that other bow and arrow. Can you hit small targets?"

Ruairi basked in the glory of praise, but was unable to accept it with bows as he grabbed his boomerang on its return trip. His little trick had done what he had wanted it to, and now the bug thing was stuck on the floor, squirming and helpless as Eve wailed on its… Tail bit. The carapace of the monster did indeed seem tough, even on its belly, but the reddish part on the tip of the tail looked softer. Despite that, the thing didn't seem like it was dying despite the Kokiri's frantic flailing! Was this honestly going to work?

"I don't know where you're from, but bow training isn't exactly part of my upbringing!" He called back to Eve, commenting on her bow suggestion. Ruairi hoped it would be obvious enough that no, he could not hit a small target, and he most likely would injure himself trying. Weapons and fighting were far from his repertoire!

But one thing was, and it had shown to work once already. The Rito threw his boomerang into the air, and directed it towards the remaining centipede in the ceiling before it had the chance to crawl to them. It too was hit at an angle that caused it to lose its grip and cause it to crash down on the floor, its multiple legs squirming and wiggling. Ruairi approached, but was hit by disgust the closer he got. Now that was one big creepy crawly he didn't want all over his hair, for sure. He tried throwing the boomerang at it a few times, easy and quick task when he was close enough to his target, but he wasn't really sure if it was working…

(((OoC congratulations to us on 100 posts. This is basically a superdungeon now. Let's keep going and see what happens.)))

Eve watched Ruairi wailing on the Moldorm. It was actually working. For every couple misses as he threw his weapon, a few of them hit and sent the creature rolling. It had already hit the floor and was wriggling around. Eve grabbed the other bow, since it didn't look like Ruairi was interested. She was guessing he was from one of the Rito communities where they specialize in grappling hook training. That would explain why he didn't have his wings yet, it was an ancient covenant with Valoo or something along those lines. Biology. . . even science and math in general were not Eve's strong suits. Her short attention span paired with the fact that she had never been to school ensured this.

"Th' wood is snappy but my muscle thing is also breaking it. I've never really had to control it before." she admitted, adjusting the glistening ornament on her head.

Grabbing another arrow, she snapped the string facing the already over-stabbed Moldorm she was lording above. It turned out firing a bow required different aiming skills than she was using to toss her dagger around. She missed the creature entirely, and her timing was really off to boot. It was hard to balance trying not to snap the bow with getting a good lock on a target. She would probably need some sort of magical aid moving forward if she even wanted to hit anything consistently.

Eve launched another arrow, barely hitting the bulbous segment and putting the monster over its limit. The bug lost all color and curled up before shriveling up dead. She definitely needed to invest in something like a reinforced bow if she wanted to keep this up. Word on the street was that Lynels made a bow with equal toughness and precision. Eve really didn't want her money going to Ganon's army though, she'd probably settle on stealing one if she had to.

She wrapped the bow over her shoulder for safe keeping. . . it was a better option than throwing it on the floor. The gremlin scooted over to the Moldorm Ruairi was beating up. She plunged her extremely sharp splinter crystal blade into the weak point over and over. It seemed like they had finally done it.
