    Dungeon: Pirate's Fortress - Majora's Mask
    Players/Characters:

The Kokiri let out a groan as he slid against the cold, stone walls, falling to the ground. He was so bored, he hadn't been this bored in a while. Resting in front of him were thick looking iron bars, spread across the wide cell to keep whoever was inside, inside. As it appeared, Rika was trapped in a prison cell, but it wasn't in Castle Town or anything of the sort. He hadn't been seen stealing someone's precious treasures and eventually captured by the Hyrulean Guards- at least, not that he knew of. Instead, he was trapped in a den of Gerudo pirates, a tall fortress set in the rocky mountain shores to the east of Darunia. Rika, Nicholas, and Wollo had been in Mido together, but Rika separated from the group for a short time. He came across a band of Gerudo thieves in the middle of a heist, but there were too many for him to defeat alone, so he was captured and thrown in prison. They had taken all of his equipment and locked it somewhere else too, so he was weaponless. It was incredibly boring for him to sit in a prison cell doing nothing, and he had only been there for about an hour.

Then, Rika had a brilliant idea. These Gerudo pirates had kidnapped him, and locked him deep in their fortress; he had practically gotten a free invitation inside. If they'd dare to challenge him and lock him in a cell, it was simple what he would do; Rika would just have to steal their treasure in revenge. Rika smirked as he came up with a devious plan, which was more like an idea at this point. First, he would have to get out of this cell, which would be remarkably easy for him to do with the magic he possessed. Really, there was no reason he had to sit in the cell for an entire hour, he just didn't have a compelling reason to escape before this moment. Strangely enough, escaping the cell almost seemed to be too easy for him; there were no guards stationed to watch the prisoners, and the cell was almost entirely empty; he was the only person there. Rika pouted slightly at the lack of a challenge; what sort of stronghold was this? Though, on second though, there were other cells within the room, so it's possible they had other prisoners. Maybe he would free them and have them cause a riot to get revenge. His pout turned to a mischievous snicker as he formulated ideas on how to get revenge on the Gerudo. He was still in the cell.

Guy sighed, hands in his pockets, as he effortlessly scaled the sheer face of a cliff. Why was he getting himself into this? He was rescuing some Kokiri lad he never met, with the aid of a seemingly mad Hylian who liked to think he had a metal arm. Oh, yes, that's right: because pirates have the best loot. Why would he not raid a Pirate's Fortress?

He had little doubt he had that he could not only get out unscathed, but would make out with the majority of the haul. The Hylian and Kokiri seemed like good scapegoats if something went wrong, and he was fairly sure he could outrun both of them if it came to that. Maybe they would actually prove their worth, but, his track record with finding good companions 'by coincidence' was quite low. Abysmally low.

Guy sighed, hands still in his pockets, as he effortlessly walked up and over the top of the cliff. Why was he getting himself into this, again? He was about to incapacitate, kill, or--if he was particularly lucky--simply sneak by scores of well-trained pirates just for some ill-gotten gains. Oh, yes, that's right: because he was high as fuck when he agreed to this. Why would he not raid a Pirate's Fortress?

Speaking of which, he slipped out a bit of mushroom from his pouch and poured it down his gullet. He was going to need a little bit of a buzz for this clusterfuck. As he peered over the area, it seemed it was particularly well guarded on all sides by cliffs. Women tougher than nails patrolled the area below, and a searchlight scanned the darkness constantly. The word 'fortress' seemed to do it justice. That said, they didn't seem to think a crafty Scrub was just going to walk up a hundred-foot wall, which meant the coast was clear... for now.

Guy pulled the rope off his shoulder, and anchored it firmly in place into the rock. He tossed the other end down a hundred feet or so to the Hylian in waiting--Nicholas, he believed the lad's name was. The boy looked to be a third of Guy's age. No wonder he was so eager to get himself killed.

The young Hylian watched upward as the Deku they had encountered walked up the face of the cliff. An impressive skill, he noted, though the chances of learning it himself was probably low. It would be handy to have, that's for sure. Now, the reason Rika had been captured had passed by the warrior, but he knew he had to rescue his Kokiri companion before something bad could happen, and by the Goddess was he lucky to have run into the strange Deku Scrub who could help them break in.

As the rope tumbled down to him, he glanced down to the strange Octrorok that always followed Rika. "Wollo, my friend," he said to the curious creature, "we must make haste to our companion." Staring into the blank eyes, he wasn't even sure if the little guy knew what he was saying. "So, hmm, quiet would be best for now." With that, he scooped up the squirming ally and casually tied him up as best as he could to the end of the rope. "Just... hold on... I'll make sure you don't slip... calm down," Nicholas muttered as he finished.

"Now hold on," he told him as he set the critter down and started to scale the rope as smoothly as he could. Pulling himself up was easy, his relatively good agility and enhanced strength allowing him to scale the wall in good time. Once he had reached the top, he turned and started to smoothly hoist up the wiggling creature. "See," he said, lifting the snot-nosed and teary beast, "all good. Now let's find Rika." Setting him down, the Hylian turned to their new companion.

"I'll leave it to you to lead, I feel you may have more tact then I."

With no reason to wait around any further, it was time for Rika to escape. First, he had to make a hole in the bars. Stepping back and pointing his hand forward, a glowing circle formed on the stone floor next to and under the iron bars, with most of the circle on the inside. After a couple seconds, a thick stone spire launched forward, leaving the sound of the bending and creaking of metals as the spire reformed the iron bars. The bars were bent, but there was still the spire in the way. Following this, Rika formed a small orb of water in his hand, lazily tossing it forward at the spire. Upon collision, it violently exploded, erasing the existence of the stone spire and leaving the bent bars that formed a makeshift hole. Though it was a small gap, Rika was a small person, and it was certainly something he could squeeze through.

Sliding his body through the newly created hole in the bars, Rika was now outside the cell. He stood in silence for a moment, as a couple of things stood out to Rika as strange. For one, there was no reaction from any other prisoners toward Rika's loud and aggressive display of an escape. Secondly, and more strangely, there didn't appear to be any reaction from any sort of guard. Perhaps they were running late, or they fell asleep on the job? It didn't matter much to Rika, as he had escaped his cell. Glancing down the aisles of cells, it became clear to Rika why there was no reaction from any prisoners; he was the only one here. Perhaps they didn't take prisoners very often, and simply chose him because he appeared to be a child? It would explain the lack of a guard stationed in the prison, too. The mere thought of the disrespect he had seemingly experienced from the Gerudo pirates made him angrier and angrier at them; he'd definitely steal their treasure in revenge now.

Considering they seized all of his equipment though, he would have to get back his weapons before anything could be accomplished. It hadn't been long since he was kidnapped, so it likely wasn't very far. Pausing to focus and concentrate, Rika felt the presence of a room to the south of him and a hallway leading beyond that. Heading there would likely be the best course of action, considering he didn't seem to feel any better direction to leave the room.

Slowly creaking open the door, Rika peered into the room for a moment before before immediately shoving it open and strolling in after what he had seen. It was clear to him the room was void of life, unless the Gerudo possessed the ability to turn invisible. It appeared to be a small guard station area, likely for Gerudo watching over the prison cells. There were a couple tables and chairs in the room, with a couple sacks set on the floor and a door opposite the one he had just come from; it likely lead to the hallway he saw. Spread across the table were various jars, though it was difficult for him to tell what was in each jar at a glance. They appeared to be some sort of food as far as Rika could tell, something the Gerudo would likely have eaten while stationed down here, but there was no sign of any of his equipment on the table. Perhaps it would be in one of the bags, or maybe at the very least he could find something to use as a weapon in the meantime.

    --

Wollo was missing his friend. They had been separated before, but usually it was Rika going off on his own and promising he would return soon. Never had Wollo had to experience Rika being the one in trouble, and he wasn't sure what to do. Luckily for him, he was with his powerful friend Nicholas, who could lift one hundred Wollos with a single arm. Nicholas found a plant friend to help, too, was he a friend of Nicholas? Wollo wasn't really sure who he was, but he knew one thing; all of the plant people he had met, though some very scary, were his friends. Isn't this plant person his friend too? As Nicholas spoke to the Octorok, he squeaked back, "Uhh. . . Yes. Wollo find Rika with friends," though it appeared as little more than squeaks to Nicholas. As Nicholas tied Wollo to the rope, the Octorok kicked his legs not out of defiance, but fear and panic. However, it did little to help him as he simply swam in place in the air.

Finally making his way to the top, the Octorok still seemed slightly frightened by being dangled roughly one hundred feet in the air, even if he was now on land. No Wollo, this was no time for fear! His friend Rika was in trouble, so he would have to be the hero and save him this time, even if there were scary monsters that would eat him waiting. Plus, he had his friend Nicholas to help, and he was almost as strong as Rika. The plant man was probably super powerful too, because all of Rika's friends were strong! That was right, they would rescue Rika and then all be together as friends. With the boost in confidence Wollo gave himself, he waddled behind Nicholas. It may not have mattered much at all, but at least Wollo stopped himself from shivering for now.

With a nod to Nicholas and... the Octorok... Guy turned back towards the fortress, considering their best options for penetration and finding a prison area of some sort. It wasn't as if some merchant just walked by selling maps of this place, and the various structures inside didn't seem to be labeled. Attempting to capture and interrogate a pirate was probably a poor idea. He guessed they didn't have time to turn back to form a better plan, either. This Rika fellow might already be on the ropes... and if he was dead, he was less likely to reward Guy for his efforts

Just as he was about to advance further, Guy glanced back over his shoulder--staring uneasily at the Octorok. If memory served, this Nicholas fellow had called it 'Wollo,' or something. He had yet to ask about it, but it seemed in... poor taste... to bring an Octorok into a fortress raid. He tried to turn himself away from it, but sighed, finally, and turned back towards Nicholas. "Alright... this... this Wollo fellow," Guy gestured towards the creature, "What is the story with him? Is it your pet or something?" It was an odd choice for a pet, especially for someone who wasn't a Deku Scrub. "I try not to judge too much by appearances... but are you sure something like that is suited to a mission like this?" Octoroks weren't exactly known for being strong, nor even stealthy. He half-expected it to just start panicking and spitting rocks at him.

...Suddenly, Guy wondered if a veterinarian could de-rock an Octorok in the same way he could de-claw a cat.

Ah! That must bee his savior! Buzzari's tiny fists pounded desperately on the glass, trying to get the attention of the boy. He seemed to be dressed rather elaborately for someone in a den of evil thieves. The lad even had green hair. Maybe he wasp one of those Kokiri kids he heard about once?

"Buzz!" Buzzari pounded and buzzed and screamed with all his might. "Buzz! Buzzari is right here! Please notice this bee!!" Though Buzzari likely didn't realize it, his jaw was difficult to notice. He was stuck between various bottled insects and even what he at first thought was a fairy... until it didn't move. There were numerous fluids as well, but they hardly looked like appetizing juices. It was a maze of jars.

The little bee only hoped this fellow would free him before those mean red-haired ladies came back to torture him again! Although... he didn't mind their attention too much... They even gave him a metal necklace and matching metal bracelets. But that was beeside the point! They still kidnapped him! He needed to bee free, like a beeautiful bee butterfly!

Nicholas glanced across the fortress, noting pathways and watching guards on patrol. He was keeping low, otherwise sticking out among his shorter party members. Before they got going though, it seemed their partner had a question concerning the octorok in the room. Glancing from Guy to Wollo, Nicholas considered it a moment. "My pet? Far be it from that, I don't think he's a pet at all," he started to explain. "Wollo here is a friend of our captured companion, Rika. Evidently they are travelling partners or some such thing." Scratching his cheek absentmindedly, he shrugged, "I don't think I've ever thought on it for long. You see strange things during your travels anyways."

Flexing his right hand, Nicholas glanced around to make sure they weren't going to be sneaked on up, then finished up his little explanation. "As for his potential, I am quite sure in a fight he won't be any help, but he is Rika's friend so I felt best to bring him. He should not be an issue for us though, he never has for me before." Patting Wollo on the head, he turned back to the task at hand, trying to consider their options. If they blindly marched along, they could likely stumble upon the jail, but that would also run them into every guard in the fortress. "My best guess is to find the first door, and gain our bearings based on that," the warrior shrugged, "but, like I mentioned before, you may have a better feel for this then I."

A small pile of weaponry had amassed itself behind the Kokiri as Rika dug through the bags, tossing items and weapons alike aside. He had found weapons, but they weren't his, and they were boring and plain; not something he was interested in. Rika's eyes lit up, a reassured 'ah' escaping the Kokiri's lips as he found something; his pair of daggers! His scythe, as far as he could tell, didn't seem to be in this room; either it was too big for these bags to contain, so they decided to store it somewhere else alongside other polearms, or a greedy Gerudo decided to claim his scythe for their own. His other small assortment of items didn't seem to be here, and they likely met similar fates. Rika grumbled at the thought of a Gerudo using his gear; she probably couldn't even wield a scythe properly, she was just going to damage it. There's no way he'd forgive them for that.

As Rika internally complained about his lack of gear while reattaching his dagger sheaths, his ears twitched to the sign of noise. Slowly looking behind, Rika couldn't see anything. It didn't seem to be a Gerudo, perhaps it was a mouse? He still heard a light rustle and tap of glass from the direction of the table, and it didn't seem to be stopping. Bringing himself to his feet, the Kokiri decided to investigate. There didn't seem to be anything interesting; bottled insects- what if they used them for torture? That'd be cool-, food preserves- what if they used THEM for torture?-, other things, and. . . something was moving. Was that. . . a bee? Did they use THAT for torture as well? The Gerudo were more interesting than he thought, maybe he'd look for their torture chambers while he was here; a few angry subjects wanting revenge would be a funny distraction for the Gerudo. It seemed like the noise was coming from the bee as well. Grabbing the jar and lifting it up to his face to examine it closely, it certainly looked like a bee. It was buzzing and yellow, and requesting for its release. Well, this wasn't the type of prisoner Rika really had in mind when he thought of freeing them, but if it was something to inconvenience the Gerudo then it was worth doing. With a firm twist of the jar, it slowly popped open, allowing Buzzari the sweet escape of freedom.

    ----

Wollo stared at Guy. Thinking about it, he was actually pretty scary, but if they were going to rescue Rika from such a spooky place, they would need someone scary. This was the right Scrub for the job.

(Since only a couple posts were made back when we started this thread--almost a year ago--I'm going retcon Guy into having the treasures he has acquired since then, including his twisted Obsidian Scrub appearance.)

Wollo's stare was met with a long, pensive glare from a pair of glowing-orange eyes. The jet-black Scrub still thought it unwise to bring an Octorok on this quest. Their cover would almost assuredly be blown. Whenever that happened, Guy assumed he would bail with whatever loot and information he had gathered thus far. It wasn't exactly difficult for someone like him to escape, or so an arrogant life-long thief would think.

"...Anyway," Guy's glare broke from Wollo, and he turned attention back to the fortress. His voice was hushed as he spoke over to Nicholas, "It looks like we can completely avoid those patrol boats... The entrance is almost directly below us."

With a gesture of his hand, Guy pointed out a patrolling Gerudo. She seemed to be standing guard out a small wooden door, so small the woman herself likely would have needed to duck to enter it. The problem--at least for some of them--was that it was almost a sheer 30 foot drop downward onto her. Furthermore, "That searchlight seems to be following a pattern... every 20 or 30 seconds, it's rolling over past this small door. I guess they aren't stupid enough to leave even so remote a door guarded by only one woman."

Guy pushed a hand into his snout, slowly and quietly spitting a Deku Nut into his palm. He handed it towards Nicholas, adding, "We have two choices, here. First, take out that searchlight--which unless you're a sniper I don't see as a great possibility." With a sigh, he added, "Second, nearly as difficult: as soon as the light flashes by us again, you hurl down that Deku Nut and I sprint down the wall to take her out. I immediately pin up her body to make it look like she's still guarding by the time the spotlight comes around a second time. Using the rope over there, you fling yourself down and dislodge the rope before the searchlight swings around a third time. Finally, we drop the body, go inside, and hope the searchlight takes as long as possible to notice the guard is missing."

His glowing gaze turned towards Nicholas, "That is, unless you have any better ideas."

    ~ ~ ~

The Kokiri went around investigating various things and jars and such, but maybe--just maybee--he would notice Buzzari! The bee buzzed desperately, as loud as he could, until finally it seemed he was noticed. With a pop, he scurried out into the open fresh air the a veritable, "Buzz!" A tiny squeak of a voice came out from an equally tiny creature. Buzzari gleefully hovered through the air, visibly dancing with joy, "Thank you very much, Mr. Kokiri friend! That lady wasp very mean to trap me in glass! But you must bee my savior--here to set Buzzari free!"

Honeystly, Buzzari wasp quite hungry and very thirsty. He immediately wanted to ask this kind gentleman if he had any food--surely even a little Kokiri crumb would bee a feast for such a little bug! Still, he thought that would bee too rude--especially after the gentleman wasp so kind as to realize Buzzari! He wanted to get off on the right foot, lest this whole situation turn around to sting him later!

The tiny bee-looking Picori attempted to land on the boy's finger. Smiling gleefully towards him, the little lad announced, "New friend, I would bee Buzzari, the Bumblebee! Buzz! May I ask your name, kind sir?"

Nicholas listened to the explanation from the strange little Deku, accepting the Deku Nut in his right hand as Guy explained the details of his plan. The warrior had been right in trusting the skills of the stranger, as the plan took much into account and was quickly thought out. "Alright," he finally spoke, once Guy had finished. "I'm quite in agreement with this plan." Without much more prompting, Nicholas crouched close to the edge, eyeing his target as she stood in front of the door they needed. He carefully, but quickly, eyed the distance and felt the weight of the seed in his hand. Making sure Guy was ready to run, he pulled his arm back to hurl it downwards. The spotlight slid across the doorway, signalling his mark.

"Now!" he almost hissed, the Deku Nut snapping from his hand as he flung the seed down hard just in front of the Gerudo guard. The seed crashed into the ground, and Nicholas ducked his eyes aside as the nut made contact, exploding into a quick flash of light. He peaked back long enough to see the guard stunned, then turned to get ready. "Don't mind me," he whispered to Wollo as he picked the Octorok up and tucked him under his left arm. As soon as Guy had pinned the guard, and the spotlight moved past once more, he could jump.

He remained crouched by the ledge, watching the light slowly move along its path, primed for the moment it would pass the hiding Deku.

As Buzzari landed on Rika's fingertip, he brought the fingertip closer to his face, and stared at it. His expression was that of confusion, contorting to a slight bit of shock, before a realization came over him and then it fell back to mild confusion. This was not a bee. Perhaps it was a Picori, or something else maybe, but Rika knew for a fact that this was not a bee- or any other type of animal, for that matter, his Kokiri senses told him that much. So then, why was a SomethingMaybePicori trapped in a jar in a Gerudo pirate's fortress pretending to be a bee? That was a question Rika would have greatly loved to learn the answer to, but his predicament didn't allow him to sit down and hear what he expected would be a long story.

"Well Buzzari, my name is Rika." He responded as he moved his fingertip a little bit away from his mouth, mostly so not to blow the small bee away. "And I know how you feel!" Rika complained, throwing in an exaggerated groan. 'Those mean Gerudo locked me up in a cell too, and they took my stuff, to boot!" He raised his hand that didn't hold Buzzari exaggeratedly, shrugging. "Well, some of it, anyway. . . " He tacked on, before returning to his exaggerated tone and continuing. "But like, what the hell, right? So anyway, I have a plan! First, I'm gonna go find my stuff. Then, here's where the plan comes in, I'm gonna go take -their- stuff! That'll make them think twice before doing this again!" He proudly told his plan to Buzzari. "So, what do you think?"

Truth be told, Rika had only lost a few of his possessions; namely, his scythe, sack of Ignition Powder, and surprisingly, his Sand Wand. His Bunny Hood was nothing more than a silly hat when worn by the Gerudo, so they dismissed it like it was just a child's accessory, and his Hover Boots, though strange looking, were not examined closely enough to find they were magical. Rika was surprised someone took the Sand Wand, though; even he had little use for it. Perhaps they were unaware of its effects, and believed it possessed some great hidden magical ability?

    --

As Nicholas picked Wollo up, the Octorok waited anxiously for the trigger to be pulled and for him to fire like a bullet into the heart of the fortress. Truth be told Wollo didn't completely understand what was about to happen, but he steeled himself, ready for what was about to occur. . . probably.

Guy shot down the length of the wall--sprinting with wall-walking as much as he was outright falling. He would probably die if this woman didn't break his fall, really. Risking his life for such trifles, and it wasn't even a sure thing if this succeeded. The Scrub couldn't help but wonder how he even managed to live this long...

Still, both of his feet managed to slam onto the stunned Gerudo's left shoulder, echoing with a loud CRACK as he accidentally dislodged her shoulder. Oops. His body ached from the fall, but at least it worked--she was out like a light. Grasping her shoulders, he scurried back up the wall a few feet--so he could dangle her body upward to make it look like it was standing, if viewed from a distance. The plan seemed to work, as the spotlight shined over the Gerudo--barely noticing the jet-black Scrub in her shadow--and passed on.

His eyes flashed towards the Hylian with a knowing look, holding the Gerudo up for the time being so they could both hide behind her, if necessary...

    ~ ~ ~

The beecori raised his hand in greeting with a warm smile, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Rika! Buzz!"

The Kokiri--yes he must bee a Kokiri, thought Buzzari, beecause he is talking about many things Buzzari did not really understand, and usually little smol Hylians only talked about things Buzzari could understand--laid out his plan. Though Buzzari did his very best to listen to the nice fellow's plan, he did not fully understand how taking stuff would prevent Rika from having his stuff taken. There was also the matter Buzzari wasp very hungry and thirsty, and so had a hard time really paying much attention. Still, his ears perked up when asked what he thought. "Mm, I'm not sure!" He tried to be polite, "But it must bee a good plan, yes!"

Suddenly, a little rumbling sound buzzed out of Buzzari's little belly. "Honeystly, though, Hi've never been hungrier... Buzz." The bee's ears visibly drooped, frowning slightly. However, there wasp a glimmer of hope in his tiny eyes as he asked, "Do you have a crumb, Mr. Rika? Maybee a little food for a little bee?"

The warrior watched with bated breath as the the small body darted along the wall and crashed into his dazed target. He efficiently neutralized his foe and using his spider-like abilities propped the Gerudo up, hiding in the shadows cast by the spotlight. Even before the light had completely passed the guard, Nicholas had already pulled himself over the ledge. He hurtled down the side of the wall, landing on the ground a few feet away from the door with a heavy thud. He stood from his landing crouch, and quickly shouldered the door open with his right arm. The door splinted a little by the handle as the latch snapped loose.

Glancing around the room, he saw it was empty besides two doors on either side. He grabbed the door and held it for Guy to get inside before quickly shutting it again. As soon as they were in and could breath, he could put the wiggling Wollo down. "Impressive work," the Hylian noted to the Deku companion in a congratulatory tone. "Now we just need to navigate the indoors with the same efficiency." It would likely come down to who got the jump on whom in these tight quarters, especially if they wanted to prevent any alarms from being raised by other guards just yet.

"Hmm, I don't have food, but. . ." Rika responded, as he moved over to the table to examine it. "Well, unless you want to eat something here, which is probably a particularly appetizing idea, there isn't anything!" Rika called out, before an idea quickly came to mind, his face grinning. "The Gerudo certainly have food somewhere though, so we could find where they store their consumables and take some of their food too! Excellent idea, Buzzari!" He complimented the bee, though he would open a jar if Buzzari really wanted something from this stomach-wrenching selection. Thinking about it, the food preserves here were probably what they fed prisoners, so in a way, it was actually for torture! With that out of the way, Rika turned to face the door. "Well, there's no point in standing around anymore, so let's start the plan."

Creeping closely to the door, Rika held an ear close to listen in on any sign of activity on the other side. He remembered that this door was at the dead end of a long hallway that reached out into a wide, open area within that acted as a sort of hub for the fortress, as you theoretically possessed access to any location within the fortress, were you able to traverse the ladders and bridges without being caught by the many Gerudo watch-guards stationed across the encampment. The Kokiri wasn't entirely sure where to go for his items, the Gerudo's treasure, or food, though more than likely they weren't all in the same location. Rika's ears didn't catch wind of any noise or motions from beyond the door, though it was likely if there was someone there, they would have heard Rika ruffling through the goods inside and speaking to Buzzari, as he wasn't exactly being quiet about it.

With the knowledge he had gained, the Kokiri slowly slid the door open, peering out into the long hallway. Nothing. Pushing the door all the way open and stepping in, Rika couldn't help but feel upset and a little disappointed. Sure, he was the only prisoner they had, barring Buzzari, but to not station -any- guards whatsoever for him? Did he seem like such a defenseless little kid? Though, it wasn't like they knew of his capabilities with magic, so without his weapons he likely did appear defenseless. It was possible there were traps set up within the hallway to dissuade any escapees, but Rika didn't notice any when he was being transported, plus he didn't particularly care regardless.

The Octorok held his breath as he went plummeting to the ground. He was going to go splat, like a massive egg, then the Gerudo would feast on him for breakfast the next morning after he spent the remainder of the day roasting in the sun. He really was Humpty Dumpty. As Nicholas landed, however, Wollo did not feel any sort of squish or pain; in fact, he felt nothing at all. Did he just fall and come out completely unharmed? Man, Nicholas truly was an amazing friend! The Deku friend seemed to fall and come out completely unharmed as well, they sure were amazing.
