    Rupees: 96

    Equipment:
Weapons: Nicholas is currently without a weapon.

Clothing and Armor: Over top his bare chest is a loose, dark blue leather jacket, with a folded collar, cuffed sleeves, and twin tails at the back end that reach inches above the ground. It can be buttoned up, but Nicholas prefers to keep it unbuttoned. He wears tight, black leather pants held up by a black belt with a simple silver buckle. His boots are a worn leather, with large flared cuffs at the top. Hanging around his neck is an old silver chain with a feather attached to it at the tip.

Tempered Arm: The Tempered Arm he wears on his right arm is finely-folded iron reinforced with Goron Iron, making it heat-resistant and ni-unbreakable, bands that overlap and completely covers his arm up to his shoulder. The hand of the Tempered Arm ends in slightly pointed claw-like nails, and thick, dark-brown leather bands are wrapped around the wrist, elbow and upper arm to help keep the metal secure. Leather bands also stretch across his chest to under his other arm for added support for the heavy arm. Made specifically for him, Nicholas favors this arm as his shield and tends to never remove it. Generally, Nicholas keeps his jacket's sleeve covering the arm, which helps to hide most of it to draw less attention.

    Racial Perks:
    Hero's Legacy (open)
Hero's Legacy is a utility trait, and a racial perk for both Hylians and Gerudo. As such, a member of either race can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Hylian or Gerudo gains this perk as a normal treasure some point after creation, it costs 15 rupees less than normal. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

Trained to use legendary and bizarre weapon maneuvers, individuals with a Hero's Legacy have a natural proficiency for WeaponBase treasures. When determining the cost of such a treasure, treat each the user's PWC attributes as each being 1 point higher, to a maximum of 5.
    Sense (open)
Sense is a defensive trait, and a racial perk for Hylians. As such, a Hylian can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Hylian chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

Those with this ability can automatically detect the presence of and vague location of other living creatures purely by instinct, particularly those who are dangerous or intent on doing the user harm. The range of this sense is roughly five meters (or 15 feet), and penetrates all forms of barriers, even those which deflect magic.
    Spin Attack (open)
Spin Attack is an offensive technique, and a racial perk for Hylians. As such, a Hylian can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Hylian chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

After taking a second to focus their strength into their weapon, the user spins around once or twice in quick succession with their weapon outstretched. From the swung weapon is sent forth a potent wave of force in all directions around the user. The length and force of the wave depends on the weapon and the user's reach (i.e., a spear will have a longer wave, a mace will have a blunt wave, and a sword will have a slicing wave), but generally the wave doubles the effective length of the weapon. If this technique is used in mid-air, the user will be suddenly propelled upwards several feet. If multiple practitioners of this technique stand back-to-back and unleash it simultaneously, their weapon waves will combine force and stack on top of one another, extending their reach and force.

    Treasures:
    Roc's Feather (open)
When this feather is held in one's grip or worn, it makes one incredibly light, enabling them to jump twice or thrice the height they were capable of before... as well as other effects, such as being able to run a bit faster or being more easily grappled by an enemy. The Jump spell and Roc's Cape are seen as variations of this item. Nicholas wears this feather on the silver chain around his neck.
    Peril Beam (open)
When the user is in peril and on the brink of fainting or death, they can focus their instinctive will to live into their weapon. Doing so enables them to unleash a potent beam from the weapon whenever it is swung or thrust until they are no longer in peril. The beam varies widely in appearance, but shoots straight, and has roughly half the impact the weapon itself would have. It is considered a variant of the Power Beam.
    Warlock Punch (open)
Warlock Punch is an offensive spell. The user draws back his arm into a stance with both feet locked into the ground, while his voice gradually raises from a whisper to a vigorous yell. As his voice climbs, his fist quickly begins to glow with unholy might packed with both muscle and magic. This all occurs over a good two seconds, before the user's arm smashes forward with an unimaginable impact, cloaked in flames which can only sear his foes. If the user is struck or otherwise loses his concentration for this godly punch, he will immediately lose the power he was charging and be forced to begin again if he still intends to punch.

Although this attack can easily knockout if not kill even someone wearing a thick helmet, and tear down stone walls with ease... it's... actually almost completely useless in direct combat, as no foe is foolish enough to stand completely still while his opponent shouts and draws back his fist.

The flames produced with Warlock Punch are always flames, but the color of them can change depending upon the user's personality. Depending on the color, the flames can also gain properties of an additional field, or remain as normal orange-and-red fire. Once this decision is made, the user cannot change the color of the flames. Generally, the color matches the personality. An evil being, for example, wouldn't normally have a Light-centered Warlock Punch.

Nicholas' Warlock Punch is cloaked in a black aura with gold bordering the edges, If the flames are either purple or black, the fire burns with the evil power of Shadow.
    Titan Mitt (open)
A Power Bracelet is a utility treasure, and may be referred to as a Goron Bracelet, Power Glove, Titan Mitt, or Silver Gauntlet and may or may not come as a pair. It always appears as a glove, bracelet, or bracer. Despite its many names and appearances, its effect is always the same. So long as the item is worn, it effectively triples the weight the user can lift, carry over their head, push, or pull. It does not affect their strength in other ways, and does not enhance the damage one can deal with weapons or unarmed combat.
    Blessed Boots (open)
They appear as a run-of-the-mill pair of rugged leather boots, albeit with some faintly etched runes that cover the outsoles. While these boots are worn, the wearer is able to drop from any height without suffering pain or injury, so long as the wearer lands on the outsoles of the boots. If the wearer doesn't land properly, the boots offer no protection. Similarly, if the boots aren't worn on the feet, the boots offer no protection from impact.

As a side-effect, virtually any impact against the soles of the boots will not harm the wearer, but may still cause the wearer's body to recoil backwards as a result of the impact.
    Ignition Powder (open)
While similar in principle to the Bomb, the Ignition Powder stands out in its utility rather than its offensive power. A single charge of fine powder contained within a small bag, the Ignition Powder is designed to explode upon impact with another object. When it does so, rather than release a powerful gout of flame, the majority of its ingredients are consumed to create a powerful backdraft. By throwing the charge at one's feet to assist a jump, the effect would be similar to possessing the Jump spell, or the Roc's Feather or Cape. Combined with any of these, the jumping height of a person could be further increased. There are a myriad of uses for this treasure, though using it to increase one's jumping height is perhaps the most obvious. It should be noted that the force expelled by the charge is dispersed evenly upon impact in a spherical area around it. The possessor of this treasure should treat it like any other Supply treasure, so that they effectively have unlimited uses of it.
    Book of Mudora (open)
The Book of Mudora was once a one-of-kind, legendary tome created by an ancient and unknown scholar. Since then, it has reproduced by aspiring sages.

While this book is open to a specific section, whenever words are spoken in a different language, words of the section's language will appear after a few seconds as an immediate and virtually flawless translation. (If open to the Hylian section, words spoken in Minish will be translated to Hylian script. If open to the Minish section, words spoken in Hylian will be translated to Minish.) This includes the Minish (Picori), Hylian, Twilit, and Ancient Hylian languages, among others, as well as countless others which no one can seem to identify. This does not, however, enable the user to communicate with creatures who do not use spoken languages. Since the book also acts as something of a multilingual dictionary, a skilled decipher can translate written text as well.
    Blitz (open)
Blitz is an offensive technique, which can be used at will through mere concentration of one's body energy, requiring approximately one full second of focus before activation. When activated, the user immediately launches shoulder-first in whatever direction he is facing at roughly 12 mph (or 19 km/h), roughly equal to a Hylian's sprinting speed, over a distance of 13 feet (4m), after which the user will come to an immediate stop. This effect is generally used to create a sudden and forceful tackle, but can leave the user dazed, sore, or unconscious from the sudden change in momentum if used repeatedly. Generally, it can only be used once every 30 seconds without drawback.
    Breath Seed Supply (open)
A Breath Seed has a light-blue, fluffy texture similar to cotton, and similar in size to a pea. The only significant effect of a Breath Seed occurs immediately after it is eaten, but only if it is eaten in an area of breathable air. The consumer then becomes able to breathe clean, fresh air in any environment for a period lasting nearly an hour. During this period, the user also happens to have fresh, clean-smelling breath. Another seed can be eaten immediately after this period, but again requires the eater to be an area of breathable air.
This treasure represents an ample supply of these seeds, and as such the owner always has just enough for routine use of them. These seeds are enough for practical use, but they are not pure enough to be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. For pure, individual seeds suitable for cultivation, see Breath Seed. A skilled Botanist can consume four pure seeds to produce an effective Supply.
    White Hide x1 (open)
White Hide is a material to be used by an Outfitter to craft armor or another worn garment that covers most of the torso. The hide itself appears as the fluffy, snowy fur of most White Wolfos, but usually loses its fluff when treated and tailored. The material itself is extremely resistant to cold and frost, and seems impossible to damage even with the greatest of cold. It likewise doesn't transfer cold through it, but can still transfer heat normally. This treasure represents the total hide one could expect to get from slaying and expertly skinning your typical White Wolfos, and thus makes for a slightly large blanket. The typical adventurer doesn't have a use for it other than using it as a blanket, or haphazardly trying to wrap themselves in it as some form of protection.

An Outfitter, however, can use a single supply of White Hide to craft a functional Yeti Tunic, or other clothing which has similar properties of protecting its wearer from cold. Whatever clothing is produced must cover the majority of the user's body to offer protection in the same way as a Yeti Tunic. Anything made from White Hide will not freeze solid, nor will anything directly covered by White Hide. Due to a seemingly magical nature of any garment produced with the hide, the user will be particularly comfortable even in extremely cold environments.

Notably, any clothing properly made from White Hide can negate the weakness to cold possessed by Subrosians for so long as it is worn.
    Hex (open)
Hex is a disabling offensive spell. To use it, the caster focuses momentarily to surrounds himself with a blue gaseous aura for several seconds, during which he must be able to make physical contact with any targets to be affected. Touching an object held by the target, such as a shield or sword, will cause the spell to have no effect. Once affected, the target is completely ineffective at combat by way of disorientation, ineptitude, or just plain bad luck, for ten to twenty seconds, depending on its resilience.

Normally, this spell can be used once per 3 minutes. With one level of Magic Power, it can be used once per minute. With two levels of Magic Power, it can be used once every 20 seconds. For the purposes of this spell, a user with a Dark Affinity is treated as having one more level of Magic Power than she actually does.

Physical Description: Nicholas stands at 6'1 and weighs 198 pounds. He is thin, has lightly tanned skin, well-toned muscles, and slender pointed ears. His hair is brushed back, flaring out at the back in a spiked pattern. Down the right side of his face across his cheek is a scar that reaches from the middle of his cheek to the lowest part of his jaw. Under his dark ruby eyes are dark, bruise-like markings from his lack of sleep. His right arm is inscribed with dark blue tribal tattoos that run down from the shoulder to his fingers.

Residence: Nicholas stays with his parents, Nicola and Viana Walker, at their small house in Lon Lon Ranch. It is a modest house, one story, with rough and weathered stone, wooden shutters across the windows, sturdy wooden doors, and a recently repaired roof made of wood, the old roof having suffered long-standing damages. His father is a farmer on nearby piece of land with the farmers who live next to them. His mother is a teacher in the area, tutoring the young children and is generally loved by them.

Personality: Nicholas is an insomniac, and as such usually runs at a lower output of energy, being pretty neutral twenty-four/seven. During a fight though, he picks up and really gets going, grinning and otherwise crashing into battle with little regard for self as he tries to drop as many opponents as he can, using the sudden burst of adrenaline to power him through. When bored or otherwise needing entertainment, Nicholas will read for hours at a time, usually with his nose in a steamy romance novel. He isn't ashamed by this practice, bringing such books with him while on duty and reading when all is quite. His notions of right and wrong can vary depending on how much he cares about the situation at hand, and some of his actions are similar to ideas he has picked up in his novels. Coming to the aid of women is one such practice, one he sees as his greatest attribute. He has little care for uniforms and chooses to dress in a strange but unique outfit.

Backstory: Nicholas was born and raised in the farms of Lon Lon in Northern Hyrule. Life was simple for the farm boy, helping his father in the field picking stones or scaring crows as best he could, only retreating inside when his mother called him for dinner in the evening. His work load, of what little he had to keep him occupied, became lighter as he joined the other local children in studies. They would all gather in the clearing up the hill to listen to Viana teach them from the books she had purchased from the libraries of Castle Town.

As he grew and his studies became easier for him, he was back helping his father and the other local farmers work in the fields they owned. While still young, he was older now to help plant the seeds or hoe the paths, pulling weeds and ensuring a good crop. During the winter months, he would move on to cutting lumber with his father in the nearby bush, hauling it back by sled and chopping the wood into logs fit to keep the fireplace warm. Even then, the winter months gave him more free time then he needed, so he would spend his off-hours working on his studies or playing with the other locals in their castles made of snow, attacking snow-moblins with their wooden sticks that stood in for swords.

In his early teen years, Nicholas showed prospects of becoming a soldier, much like most of the men who lived in Lon Lon. Some retired, most of them were still active members of the guard, either on leave for a short time or actively guarding wagons of supplies between the farmers and the magnificent Castle Town. His years of working in the fields with his father had given him an acceptable muscle mass, and his enthusiasm quickly got him his recommendations to join the Hylian Army as a recruit.

So, packing up and giving a hearty farewell to his parents to which he wouldn't see for quite a few years, the young farm boy climbed into one of the wagons leaving Lon Lon and soon found himself traveling to a place he had only heard of. His first sights of Castle Town were frantic, as the soldier who agreed to recommend him took no time in escort him to the training officer who was responsible for training quite a few of the young recruits.

While use to early mornings and long days of work, Nicholas was unprepared for the rigid structure and lack of freedom his choice entailed. For starters, Nicholas wasn't use to having his sleeping area scrutinized, the requirements for the organization of his bed and trunk of belongings was called into question the first day there by his training officer, who ended up taking part in a shouting match with the farm boy for a good ten minutes before he ordered young Nicholas to clean up his area and that all of the boys ,except Nicholas, in that barrack to report for cleaning duty after training.

His first day, and he had already made enemies of his fellow trainees and his commanding officer. After the grueling first day of training along with the cleaning they had to endure after, the group of young men were not happy to return to find Nicholas sprawled out on his bed, resting. The recruits took no time in moving over to him and violently pulling him from the bed and beating him black and blue. They left him bunched up on the ground, silently sobbing, and went about the rest of their evening. When he finally arose from the ground, he pulled his sheets taunt, made his bed, and then left the room.

After that day, Nicholas swore he wouldn't deal with the draconian rules imposed by his training officer simply by never using that bed again, instead taking to the common room to read books into the odd hours, sometimes drifting to sleep for the odd hour. This took a toll on the boy, causing him just as much problems as before as he lacked energy and focus, sometimes messing up training steps completely. It was during one of these unfocused mishaps that caused Nicholas to backpedal into one of the trained soldiers practicing, where he caught the edge of a shield in the jaw. The quick motion of the poorly maintained training shield sliced open the flesh from his cheek down, which would end up leaving a permanent scar.

Given little time to recover from that day, Nicholas was put back into training but his commanding officer didn't expect him to stick around much longer. Determined to see through what he had started though, Nicholas began to use his near-sleepless nights to study forms and techniques from the instructional books the soldiers kept around. He would sit, snacking on whatever food he could swipe from the mess hall to help distract him from his tired state, and poured over book after book, determined to prove himself on the training grounds. He slowly worked up his own schedule and extra training, using the extra time to exercise and practice behind closed doors, slowly seeing an improvement in his actual training.

Despite his increasingly defiant attitude and haunty appearance, his training officer couldn't deny he was improving at a steady and impressive rate, and after years of training he was finally assigned to the local guard, beginning from the bottom of yet another chain of command but finally with an outlet to prove his strengths. He kept up his nightly training for a few years longer while under the guard, along with the experience gleamed from working the streets and practicing drills with the squads, but after a while Nicholas found he no longer had the vigor for it, and took back to simply reading at the late hours.

His favorite had to be the novels that spoke of fantastic exploration and vast battles, finally narrowing down to fantasy romance novels, of daring young men fighting for the heart of a beautiful maiden. He slowly amassed a collection of such novels, sometimes resorting to reading them over and over as he was so enthralled with them. His favorite, a purple covered book bound in a golden-yellow thread titled "The Mists At Moonrise", a lovely yet explicit tale of two lovers caught in the middle of a war and fighting everything to be together. This novel Nicholas soon began to keep with him at all times, a novel read countless times and an inspiration of his. He wanted such a fantasy, a loving lady to fight any foe for, yet he had not yet found the lady of his dreams.

It was at the age of twenty that he found himself once more struggling in the grips of authority, this time arguments with his guard-captain about his habits. He had began to read during patrols and watch duties, wearing his civilian clothes instead of his uniform, breaking protocol when dealing with crimes and above all else purchasing and then refusing to take off a specially-made piece of armor meant specifically for his right arm he was training with, an idea from his favorite book. His Guard-Captain became frustrated with him, and when multiple shouting matches and threats seemed unable to phase Nicholas, he decided to reassign him away from the city and out from under his feet. Nicholas was quite glad when he found out he had been assigned for an escort position that would see him living back in Lon Lon with his parents while making the long rides between the city to protect the local travelers.

Returning home was a joyful event for the sleepless farm boy, seeing his parents after so long made his heart soar as he came to realize he had actually achieved what he set out to do. It wasn't long until his new Guard-Captain was at his throat about his uniform and strange armor, but the Captain was much older then the one in the city, and finally figured it was too much hassle, simply allowing Nicholas to continue as long as it didn't impede his work.

With a much more friendly working environment and no one breathing down his neck, Nicholas found himself enjoying his work and happily volunteered extra escorts when he could, always enjoying the times a wagon would come under attack from raiders and he would get to heroically leap into action and save lives. His parents even fashioned a gift for him, a simple silver chain that had a brown feather affixed to it. His mother had found the feather one day on a walk, and the tough yet beautiful feather had reminded her of her son. He treasures it, not only as a gift from his parents, but as a magical token from what he could tell, as he read of the mighty Roc in his stories and the feather both matched the physical and magically uplifting properties the book told him.

With strength and skill, magic and luck, Nicholas became proud of his skills and more reckless in his offensive attacks, more inclined to be heroic but also more likely to get into dangerous situations. Either way, he believed himself quite fit for the title of Hero he had strived for in the passing years, and now merely wishes to find a nice girl and see the world as only a hero can.

    Backstory Redux (open)
    Greetings Staffer,

Below you will find an updated version of the "Nicholas Walker" character profile, with minor changes to weapons and some spelling fixes. The main reason this will have to be looked at is because I took the liberty of rewriting his backstory, since I re-read what I had and was shocked at the sentence structure of a quick-and-excitedly written backstory he had when I first wrote him up for the site.

    Thank you for your time!

The retcon'd backstory seems good, so you have a staffer's approval on that as you requested.

As an aside, it actually makes the other paragraph-long sections seem lacking by comparison--slightly amusing, but not a problem.
