Yeta looked at the group with an expression Autumn recognized as pondering while the other two gave their answers. The creature's eyes then rested on Autumn and the Guardian realized she had not answered yet. "I am Autumn. I come from the far North, from a place called the Lost Woods. I have found clues that within these ruins rest a secret I seek. It is for that reason that I wish to explore your home- if you and your husband do not oppose that, of course."

"Must wait for storm to pass, uh." Yeta shook her head. "Much too cold. Much too dangerous. Unless husband join you... Husband big. Bigger than Yeta. Can shield from storm." She got up and gestured her head to the other door in the room. "Kitchen that way, uh..."

Autumn got up. "Thank you, Yeta. I'll ask your husband." She then walked towards the kitchen, which was miraculously also fully intact, and was met with the smell of soup. "Oh..?" She had not known herself to be hungry. Next to an enormous kettle with what she assumed to be the soup, was a creature twice as big as Yeta.

"Needs more punch, uh..." He probably thought he was talking to himself, but his voice was booming and echoing through the entire room. Wolfos had followed her into the room and now stood on the crates next to the kettle, where it sniffed at the soup. "Uh?!" The beast turned around, shocked, "DOG!" He barged over, forcing Autumn to run out of the way in favour of not getting squashed, and grabbed Wolfos. The dog-like critter yelped and whined loudly, and Autumn started tugging on the bigger beast's fur. "No! Leave him alone! Wolfoses don't go into soup!"

Jayden followed Autumn over to the kitchen. It was odd that these two lived so comfortably, despite the weather and danger. He still didn’t fully trust Yeta, and he joined Autumn in diving when the creature came barreling over, grabbing Wolfos. He immediately stood up, bow in hand, pointing it at the yeti. He made his presence known immediately, strafing in front of him. “Put that thing down. I warn you once, then I need to use force.” He stated confidently, zeroing in on the important vitals mentally.

This was something he was trained often. Negotiations. He was pretty skilled at it too. Be it a hostage situation or a suicidal person, he was often rather convincing. This was just honed by the introduction of aggression into the negotiating.

Things happened rather fast when they entered the kitchen. Abigail had only enough time to detect the scent of something cooking before a large white creature, a bit bigger than Yeta, turned and, apparently lacking something better, decided that the wolfos traveling with the trio would make a delectable secret ingredient and snatched it up. This caused no small amount of distress to the smaller dog-like creature, now whining pitifully, and Autumn, who tugged at the stranger's fur. Jayden's response was... exactly the same as his response to everything else that they had seen today. Namely, to draw a weapon on it.

"Hey, wait, wait!" Abigail ran in front of the bow-armed man and put her arm in front of him, as if that would actually stop him. "Let's all calm down a minute! You," she said, addressing the large white cook, "You're Yeta's husband, aren't you? We're her friends! Friends. Can you please put the dog down?"

When Jayden fairly unsurprisingly pointed his bow at the enormous monster and Abigail ran in after him, pointing out that it was probably Yeta's husband, the yeti blinked a time or two before slowly but surely lowering Wolfos to the ground. It didn't seem impressed by Jayden's threats in the slightest. "Dog can't fall in soup, uh!" it said, pointing at Wolfos once it was on the ground. Wolfos immediately ran over to Autumn, hiding behind her legs.

Autumn calmed down after being returned her companion, and took a closer look at the yeti. ...was that a horse's saddle on its head? "Husband be careful, uh." Autumn turned around to see Yeta entering the kitchen. "Visitors fond of pet." That was a bit of an understatement, but Autumn opted not to correct the yeti.

"Yeta not walk around house!" the bigger yeti suddenly shouted, "Sick, uh! Stay at fire!"

Yeta wiggled back and forth a few times before saying: "Visitors want to see house. Husband show around, uh. Yeta stay at fire. Will be fine."

"Uh... Yeta sure?" Apparently yetis had the evil eye, for the bigger one suddenly nodded and didn't need a verbal answer from his wife. "Yeto help strangers, then." He walked over to the other side of the kitchen, while Autumn turned to Yeta.

"Thank you for your help, Yeta. I promise we will leave, rather than inconveniencing you further, once we find what we're looking for."

"No worries, uh!" She turned back around, only to jump a mile at the massive hammer Yeto held. "Yeto good guide! Yeto show you around good!"

Somehow Autumn was not so sure about this anymore.

Abigail let out a nervous breath she didn't realize she'd been holding when Yeto agreed to help. The white-coated giant hefted a huge hammer that dwarfed all of them. She sincerely hoped that it would not be needed, or that if it were she would be far, far, away from it. She also hoped that Jayden would decide to put down whatever weapons he intended to use before things became very, very bad, but she found it a prudent decision to keep these musings to herself.

"Thank you, Yeto," She said up to him. "Where will we go first?"

Once everything had been cleared up, Jayden indeed put his bow away, but still. Something that big and monsterous couldn't really be that good hearted, could it? When their 'tour' started, Jayden was still rather cold, but he mostly kept it to himself.

He was fairly sure these two creatures, Yeto and Yeta, were his targets. At this point, all he really had to do was follow along with Autumn and Abby and see if they were dark creatures or not. Yeta seemed harmless enough, it was Yeto he was more worried about. "So..." He started, wondering about the house itself. "Are there any dangers we should be alerted to before starting?"

Yeto barged out of the kitchen happily, into the living room and made himself as small as he could to get through the small door that led outside. Autumn followed at a safe distance behind him, looking at Abigail and Jayden as she went. Once outside, a harsh gust of wind almost threw her off her feet, but Yeto spread his arms out a little wider and shielded her.

"Little humans okay, uh?" He looked over his shoulder. "Yeto shield good, uh! Follow!" He led the trio to a door that, for the life of her, the Guardian of the lost woods could not open. On Yeto's advice, she walked over to the windowsill off the side of the door and pulled herself onto it, leaping through where the window had once been.

The ceiling to this room was out, but to her side, Autumn saw a ladder. However, just as she turned around and grabbed it, an ice spike came crashing down on her, impaling her through her sword shoulder.

Following her blood-curdling scream, Yeto popped his head in through the window. "Chilfos, uh..."

Re: Snowpeak Ruins (Blonde Panther, Unnamed Dude and Tsubori

Abigail was starting to think it might actually go smoothly. Yeto seemed nice enough, he had a large hammer just in case, and he even shielded them from the bitter, icy winds that buffeted them as they climbed into the windowsill.

That all went downhill the moment an impossibly sharp icicle stabbed Autumn before she could climb the nearby ladder. Abby stepped back in surprise and looked up. Yeto commented on the creatures attacking them. Chilfos. Not good. They could probably throw more ice spears at the group at their leisure.

There had to be another way up there. Climbing the ladder was tantamount to suicide, with enemies with ranged weapons at the top of it. If only it had some sort of footholds she could climb it...

A snowflake dropped gently upon her face as she looked up. That's right, this room had no ceiling... An idea came upon her. "Yeto, can you throw me up there?"

The yeti nodded. "Me strong, uh. Can do. But little girl be okay?"

Abigail cast a little Jump spell on herself. "I'll be fine. Let's go."

At her urging, Yeto picked her up and tossed her high into the air. A couple icy javelins whizzed by, but between the massive strength behind the throw and the lightened load, she was ascending too quickly for them to connect. At the apex of the jump, Abigail cast Featherfall. She needed maneuverability. She started floating down, but she saw one of them prep another icicle. She dropped the spell and the momentum let her dodge.

She rolled sloppily when she hit the ground. Even channeling the inertia into a roll, it made a fairly solid thud. Ouch... She reminded herself not to do that again if she could help it. She got up and found a trio of Chilfos before her. Yikes. Okay, now that she up here... what now?

She had to sidestep a thrust by one and duck another. She was glad Jump made her body lighter, a little faster. She spun, bringing her hiking stick to bear on them. No real damage, but good enough for now. The third and final one came at her as the other two fell backwards, and Abigail responded by jumping over him, then shoving him off of the ledge with her staff. It disappeared towards the windowsill the others were on. One down...

Another charge. Abigail cartwheeled. She smacked the chilly figure in the head with her staff. It didn't do much good. And her Jump was starting to fade. She had get rid of at least one more or she was doomed. One Chilfos stood back and hurled its spear at her. Her staff swung and smacked the frozen weapon...

But it caught it too late. It only succeeded in breaking part of it. The tip still embedded itself in Abigail's left shoulder. Not good, not good at all. She flinched, giving the other monster a chance to lunge forward. She couldn't let it hit. She couldn't.

She used another spin attack, but it was one-handed. It didn't pack enough power to quite force it off the ledge. The girl thrust the hiking stick at its chest area and finally knocked it down to the others...

But the last Chilfos rushed her. She turned to see its charge, and she was too late, and too tired, to move.

What happened next was a blur. Her abdomen exploded in pain. Pain and cold. She stumbled back and suddenly grew aware of the sensation of falling, and had the presence of mind just to cast Featherfall...

Jayden had an extreme lack of trust for Yeto when he completely ignored the knight’s question. He did, however, stay behind the yeti to stay out of the wind. When the fight erupted before he could even react, Jayden sprung to get Autumn to safety, ensuring she was in cover before continuing. He went forward, seeing the chilfoses starting to land. He took a page from when he and Autumn had met, shuffling his Pegasus boots and dashing towards it before it could get it’s bearings, kicking it at an insane speed. The creature was nowhere near as tough as the freezard, so it immediately shattered into pieces. He did the same with each she managed to knock off. He took then Abby’s distraction to go up the ladder without injury, and he drew his bow, notching an arrow. When Abby was rushed, he fired the arrow, but a little too late. The chilfos went flying away, a massive shattermark appearing. He then saw Abby falling and leapt off the edge, catching her in the air and landing on his feet to prevent her from landing on anything vital. All it would have taken was one neck injury and her life is done.

He took note of how light she had become and set her down next to Autumn. The thought passed through his mind that this may have been his first major fight with no injuries where everyone else got hurt as well, but it wasn’t the time to think about that. He reached into a small pack, taking out first aid gear and starting with Abby. An abdomen injury was much more severe than a shoulder one, though he was still worried about both girls. Once he covered up and cleaned the wound, which was rather clean already considering the weapon she was stabbed with, she moved over to Autumn. “Are you two okay?” He asked, a concerned voice evident.

Autumn clutched her shoulder as the ice pike fell to the ground in two pieces. Her body heat had melted the part of the weapon that had gone through her, causing the other halves to fall. At least that was a relief- pure ice like this was less likely to infect upon entry.

But Spirits, it hurt. She didn't know whether to clutch it or not, she couldn't tell which hurt her more. She staggered to the nearest wall, which was next to the windowsill where Yeto stuck his head through again after tossing Abigail up to the second floor, and slumped down.

Abigail and Jayden handled the Chillfoses wonderfully, much to Autumn's pleasure. Jayden then started to take care of both girls, first working on Abigail's more serious wound. "I don't know," Autumn said, Wolfos whining at her feet, "I... I didn't know about these monsters. I don't often leave the Woods..." Otherwise she would have seen this coming.

"I... I hate to admit this, but my shoulder hurts too much to use my arm. If it's not treated I will lose my accuracy with the bow... and I'll have to use my sword left-handedly." She could fight with her left hand, but the loss of her bow was devastating.

"Worry about that later, uh." She looked up. On the windowsill, there were suddenly three pots with steam coming out of them. "Yeto bring soup." Apparently while the fighting had happened, the Yeti had rushed back to his kitchen, filled these pots (possibly for lack of anything else) with the soup he had been brewing and rushed back.

"Little humans sit and eat soup. Feel better. Yeto good cook, uh."

Abigail couldn't quite understand what happened. Someone had caught her, she knew. But it was all so confusing. All she could seem to hear clearly was the sound of her own shallow, quickened breathing. She winced slightly when the wound was subjected to some sort of treatment, but overall she was so lightheaded and tired. She wasn't able to process things properly at all. All she wanted to do was sleep...

She shouldn't sleep, she mustn't sleep here, but she was just so exhausted. Her eyelids felt as though drawn down by weights. The world seemed as though she saw it, heard it, felt it through a veil. It all seemed distant to her.

Abigail vaguely recognized a question about her well-being. All she managed was a dazed, "Ah..." She felt as though she was not, but she wasn't certain. She couldn't even worry about that uncertainty, her disorientation was so great. She did know that she felt very weak and didn't want to move.

She caught some words about soup before her consciousness started to slip away from her. So drowsy...

Jayden looked incredulously at Yeto when he brought out soup for them. “What? They don't need food right now, they need medical attention. He then saw Abby pass out and let out a silent swear, picking the girl up. His bandage job should keep her alive, but she'd certainly be sore when she woke up. Probably a bit dizzy from the blood loss too... “Let's get you two inside.” He said, lending an arm to Autumn to help her up.

Jayden did have a point. It did seem madness to have soup right now... but Autumn found herself scrambling to her feet and stumbling over to the windowsill, grabbing one of the pots in two hands. Yeto helped her, picking up the weight her bad shoulder couldn't handle with one finger.

The Guardian supposed it was not a good idea to get on the nerves of their guide. Surely Jayden would not have purposefully insulted the Forest Spirits had they been in the Lost Woods, either. That, and Autumn could absolutely not handle cold. The soup in the pots was steaming hot... at least it would be something warm inside her stomach.

When she took a sip (Yeto had made small portions for his standards because they were little humans, not Yetis, but it was still far too much for her), she noticed something. "...Jayden."

She turned to the guard, pulling her clothes away from her wounded shoulder. The pain was gone and the flesh itself was knitting back together. "This soup, it's..."

"Good soup, uh." Yeto laughed, completely oblivious to his customer's wonder. The Yeti was a damn genius... that soup had the same properties as a Red Potion. Soup! She had not given the beast enough credit!

Jayden watched in wonder as Autumn’s wound healed, leaving no more than a small scratch. Jayden looked at the bowls, wondering exactly what kind of things he’d put in there… Now having seen the magic properties of this bizarre meal, Jayden took one of the bowls, helping to feed it to a mostly unconscious Abby. As the knight fed her more of the soup, he noted that her wound got smaller and smaller.

Humbly, Jayden nodded towards Yeto. “I misjudged your abilities. Thank you for getting that.” He then laid Abby down to briefly rest. The man turned to Autumn. “So your arm really feels better then?”

Through a thick, heavy mist obscuring her perceptions, the last thing Abigail managed to notice before completely losing consciousness was some sort of warm liquid draining into her mouth. She only barely had the presence of mind to swallow it so she could breathe again, but somehow as she felt it slide down her throat it soothed her. She let go, now.

Her shoulder and abdomen lethargically healed themselves up, knitting skin and sinew together and leaving the girl's breathing easier, her sleep that much more peaceful. Her face went from discomfort to something almost resembling content, or at least not pain.

Jayden helped Abigail take her dose of soup while Autumn flexed and rotated her arm, ensuring it worked like it was supposed to. The HAREON knight then asked her if she was sure her arm was alright, so she took her bow to hand and pulled an arrow from her quiver. Normally she'd use them sparsely, but ensuring that her bow arm was in proper order would lead to wasting less arrows further down the road if it turned out to be bad.

Opposing the ladder under which they all stood was a door with a large, rusted lock hanging from it. The keyhole on that lock was a perfect target to see if she could still shoot. "We'll see..." she said to Jayden, before turning towards the doors and pulling back her bowstring. Her arm didn't scream in pain. That was good. She wasn't shaking, either. Taking a deep breath, she mentally zoned in on the lock and released.

As it had been supposed to, her arrow zoomed through the air cleanly and made a loud 'CHING' noise as it flew into the keyhole of the lock on the other side of the passage. "...I'm fine," Autumn said, putting her bow away again. She then looked up, at Yeto who was clapping in admiration of her skills.

"Little girl good jumper, uh," he started, "Skinny girl good shooter." Autumn was confused at where he was steering at, but put one hand on her hip as he said that. She wasn't skinny. "Yeto good cook and good shield, uh." The Yeti pointed his hand down at Jayden. "Yeto think time for little man to be good at something."

Autumn could not suppress a chuckle. Jayden had had it coming, after dismissing the Yeti's soup as rudely as he had.

Jayden glared up at Yeto when he called him short. "Oh, laugh it up, fur ball. I guess you missed the part where I was shredding up those Popsicles? Even ask Autumn, I'm good at a lot of stuff." He then saw that Autumn was laughing at the joke and let out a sigh, slightly red in the cheeks. That could be excused by the cold though. Though Jayden was still oddly suspicious of the two yeti, his job seemed to be done. They certainly weren't evil... So he'd finished what he needed to do. But still, Abby and Autumn were here and with the danger so far shown, it wasn't safe to just leave them. He then checked on Abby to see if she recovering well,  giving a passing remark to Autumn. "So Autumn, what exactly are you looking for?"

Distantly, just barely, Abigail managed to hear a few soft mumbling noises. Gradually the sounds seem to draw closer, though it was still a while before her hazy, struggling mind could interpret them as words; and a bit longer, still, to realize the subjects.

"Mmn..." she said softly. Slowly her eyelids fought their way up again.

Then, sleepily, she asked, "Oh, what's going on, everyone? Did we win?"

When Jayden asked Autumn what she was looking for, she hesitated for a second. "...the Forest Spirits sent me." It was odd, to be sure. Normally the Forest Spirits weren't responsible for much of anything outside the Lost Woods, so Autumn had been surprised their clairvoyance reached all the way to Snowpeak. "They sensed evil... a different evil than Ganon. Weaker. But not less of a problem because of it."

She walked over to Abigail, helping her up. "I am here to find the source of said evil. I am to destroy it so its power doesn't reach and possibly corrupt the Lost Woods." She then looked up at Yeto. "Yeto, has anything changed recently in the manor?"

"Uh," Yeto said. Well, that surely didn't help any. How was Autumn supposed to know if that was a yes or a no? "Yeto don't know about evil, uh. Magic mirror might know though."

    "A... magic mirror?"

"Uh! Wife find mirror. Mirror magic. Mirror know things. Show to us." The Yeti pointed up, to the highest room of a tower near the back of the manor. "Mirror in bedroom, uh. We go there if want."

Autumn thought for a few seconds. "Yes, let's. I must see this... magic mirror."

With a calming pat of her head, Jayden made sure Abby was calm. “Yup. We won. Everything’s okay now. You can rest for a second if you want, Abby.” Jayden then perked up when a mirror was mentioned. Perhaps… his job here wasn’t done.
