Lightweight Spear - A spear made of lightweight materials, designed not to hinder flight in anyway. Stored vertically in a weapon holster on Vantul's back.

Small Backpack - A small backpack used to carry smaller objects of use on short journeys, like the spear, made to be light.

Leather Armor + Hood - Light armor made from the leather of various creatures, designed to protect against slashing weapons, but useless otherwise. The hood worn in place of a helmet is to hide the face, since Vantul is ashamed of his bird like features and would rather hide them. The arm pieces are always left off to prevent restricting flight.​

Appearance:

Standing at 6'2 and weighing 67 lbs, Vantul is around the same height and weight of most people of his race. Like the average Rito of his gender, Vantul's feathers are brown and hair white. His hair is kept shorter to keep maintenance to a minimum, and almost never styled. He is rarely seen without his brown leather armor and hood, but when he doesn't wear the two, he wears colorful clothing made from cloth, mostly consisting of the colors blue and yellow, without additional accessories. His physique is slightly larger than most of his race, primarily due to the constant training and activity from his usual schedule.​

Personality:

Vantul is a man a bit different from most people of his race. While many prefer to live calmer lives on Dragon Roost Island, worshiping their dragon deity while they live out their days in peace, he prefers the life of fame and fortune. Though this life is hard to start, since his quiet personality and overall recluse lifestyle isn't good for getting jobs or gaining fame. He is slow to open up to new people, and usually tries to keep speaking to a minimum, often replying with one word phrases to do so. But, even though he is quiet and may not verbally express his feelings, the thought of adventure excites him enough to crack a slight smile at the mention of it.​

Background:

Vantul's life was fairly average for a member of his race in the first years of his life. He lived a carefree life with his mother and father on Dragon Roost island, taking care of whatever chores or responsibilities he had before going off to explore the island or spend time with the other children.

As he came of age, he underwent the trial to earn his wings. He succeeded, and was shown more respect from his friends and family. Along with the respect came more responsibilities, meaning that he had less time to be a kid, which by the races standards, he was no longer one anyway.

Due to his natural strength, he was chosen to become one of the island's guards, and gladly accepted the position. The training was difficult, even if he was a bit stronger than the other young men his age, but he still saw the entire thing as a learning experience. After completing his training and becoming a guard, he began doing exactly what one would expect from someone of his position. Guarding.

This was awfully boring to Vantul, for he was still a bit of a kid at heart, and he wanted to explore new places. Standing in one place and watching over a certain area just wasn't the kind of thing he was expecting out of life, and he even envied the peaceful couriers of his race that got to explore other lands. If someone without a weapon could go to new worlds, why couldn't he? He had to get permission. After making this decision, his next step was to convince their Chief to relieve him of his duty and allow him to explore the world. This would be a difficult thing to do with the lack of guards on the island, but he couldn't handle such a mind numbing job for his whole life.

It took weeks to convince the chief to allow him to go, and there was no way to tell whether he gained permission because he irritated the chief enough, or it was decided to be the right thing to do, but it was time for him to go. The next trade ship that stopped at the island would be the one to take him to the new world, but little did he know, it would also change him a bit. The Hylian crew made fun of Vantul's bird like features, which made him feel a bit embarrassed and hide his face. Although it was a small thing, the jokes made caused him to feel ashamed for looking like a bird, so he tends to try and hide most of his features besides his wings.​
