    Turtle Rock

Sienna's steel-plated fist hammered into the fool's stomach with one deep, hard, grotesque sound after another. She grinned softly behind her mask, saying nothing, staring silently into the bulbin's eyes--watching him flinch and writhe, seeing him gag and choke, hearing him groan in utter agony. He had long since lost the energy to plead with her, to beg her to stop, or to frantically ask why she was even doing this to him. He tried to beat or push away at first, but his arms had long since broken. At this point the only real thought in Sienna's mind would be what would kill him first. She supposed blood loss, mostly from the numerous internal injuries he certainly now had. It didn't really matter. His consciousness was fading, and she was growing bored of him. The agony in his eyes was beginning to slowly fade into something that resembled relief.

A soft laugh came from Sienna's gullet, followed by a harsh and almost intimate whisper. "You're in so much pain death seems pleasant?" The question was purely rhetorical, as the man was seemingly too far gone at this point to so much as even nod. Callously, Sienna continued, "It's satisfying. For me. To see that. Yet I'm conflicted. Letting you leave means you suffer longer. But your death would simply be... SO... satisfying." That relief quickly washed away into fear. Perfect.

Sienna's grip on the fool ceased, and she stepped back. His twitching, bleeding body slumped to the floor. The look on his face was one of fear, confusion, and agony--as if the only thing worse than her endless beating was knowing he would be forced to bleed out here for who knows how long. It was exactly what Sienna wanted to see--before her boot smashed into that pitiful face of his, ending what remained of him with a guttural CRACK.

    ...

Silence followed, spiced only with a pleasurable sigh of a sadistic murderer. Sienna knew all too well that title--'murderer'--was far too soft for the malice and cruelty she knew she embodied. Killer. Slaughterer. Torturer. No. Nothing matched the ocean of blood that rang ominously in her mind, seeking always for more rain to fill it, for more conquest, for more death, and for endless pain. With a hand, Sienna lifted her mask. Her clean wooden face was a stark contrast to the crimson fluid splattered across her armor. Dimly glowing eyes soaked in the artwork she had created, slumped and motionless beneath her.

"Well... anyway..." The bulbin's agony was a nice way to pass the time, but she still didn't see that hylian anywhere... that weaponsmith. A normal person probably would have had a name to call him. Sienna didn't even realize she had forgotten the man's name.

For whatever reason he requested her presence here at Turtle Rock, and damn if she was going to be kept waiting much longer. With a sigh, Sienna plucked up her glaive, and looked towards the ominous hill ahead. It was clear how the hill got its name--it appeared to be a giant turtle, complete with arms and face carved out of the stone itself, with sparse moss growing upon its back to complete the optical illusion. Though it was a sizable mound, it paled in comparison to the mountains surrounding it. The valley in which Turtle Rock sat meant anyone who sought to approach it would need to come through this valley--the valley in which Sienna now waited with steadily increasing impatience. From this viewpoint it certainly would be difficult to miss a seven-foot-tall bundle of glistening armor...

Her mumble was heard by none but than a mutilated corpse. "...A few more minutes... at most."

In the distance, an enormous armored figure held a map in his hands, looking at the valley below him. If this map were still accurate, it would supposedly lead him to one of the greatest swordsmen Hyrule had ever known -- but, as mostly everyone who knew of this elusive hermit was aware, he didn't stay in one place for long.

This elusive hermit was none other than Swiftblade IV. What happened to I~III? It wasn't anyone's place to ask, as the mysterious teacher simply didn't respond to anything asked about him or his heritage.

Either way, he thought it might bear some fruit, but the suspected location... He looked down at the vaguely shaped rock in the valley before him. The Turtle Rock, as it came to be known; an eerie natural formation in the shape of a turtle. None knew how or why this place came to be; it simply was. From all Julius had managed to read about it, all recorded expeditions had ended in failure, and what had somehow survived always made explicit mentions of, as quoted from one such tome, 'hives of inexplicable monstrosities which not even the mightiest of mortal men could slay.' While Julius highly doubted this would be true... Well, it never hurt to have extra help along for the ride.

But why he chose this particular companion was something not even Julius could answer, outside of the fact that she was almost outrageously strong, and quite good at what she took joy in doing.

Julius had no desire to consciously realize what brought Sienna joy, of course; that she was more than sufficient at it was more than adequate for this occasion. He supposed that they might find any number of things; really, he wasn't concerned with whether or not the swordsman was even there, given that it was explored so rarely that should there be any materials within, they would be mostly undisturbed -- and ripe for the taking, as he almost greedily thought.

But, in reality, his smithing skills were on the decline -- and what better opportunity than coming here? Even Sienna might take some form of joy in finding the materials necessary to make some rather extraordinary mail -- but even he wasn't sure how often she partook of her apparent craft, despite wearing something wrought by her very hands.

    ...

He approached the base of the mountain, watching Sienna pummel a Bulbin to death. She put it out of its misery for what seemed uncharacteristically early -- typically, these sorts of things lasted hours, which meant that Julius could only imagine the prolonged suffering of the bandit... however much he might have deserved it.

"Hello, Sienna. How's the blade been treating you?" Those were the first words he spoke, while approaching the maw of the structure. It was impossible to say how deep it lead, but he had a sneaking suspicion that there was more to it than this... regardless of whatever prior information he may have obtained.

"Oh. You." Sienna glanced towards the man, dropping words flatly with the least bit of inflection. He had an oddly good sense of timing, showing up now.

"Ah. Yes. The sword. It has suited my purposes well." She approached him with two steps, glancing up towards him with the faintest and most subtle of expressions. Some could believe it resembled a grin. "Make me another. Sometime." That was the man's purpose, after all. It was the sole reason she bothered to answer his written message to meet here. Sure, he promised slaughter, but in this world Sienna knew she could find that almost anywhere. No, the promise of another weapon as glorious as the sword--large as her body, brutal as her malice, and yet so compact it shrinks to a toothpick when she sheathes it--that was more enticing than anything.

Sienna's gaze lingered on the man's eyes for an awkwardly long time. Most people would have looked away. Instead, she was stuck wondering why he specifically requested her--of all people--to be here. Had there been a specific reason in his message? Maybe. Maybe not. If there was, she had already forgotten it. Who really cared, anyway. Callously, Sienna rolled her eyes away, plucked up her glaive, and began stomping towards Turtle Rock. "Anyway. Let's get with the killing." Her hand moved up to pull the mask back down over her mutilated, scarred face. "I suspect more Bulbins."

An inaudible sigh escaped his lips as she mentioned the undoubted slaughter. Bulbins, she had said? Julius knew they were rather migratory, but he hadn't expected them to settle this far into the mountains.

Still, there was a rather unbecoming (or, as he now knew it, intimidating) scar he bore, which they had yet to repay.

    He would enjoy this dearly.

    Probably more than Sienna.

"Bulbins." He repeated. Once, twice, thrice -- over and over, he continued to utter the words as he traveled nearer to the maw of their apparent dwelling, climbing into it headfirst. He knew they weren't stupid, no -- how else would he have gotten this scar? No, he knew how they operated -- how he thought they operated, at least.

Julius was plainly driven into a frenzy. The bloodlust was almost something physical even Sienna may well be afraid of -- no, he wouldn't just kill them, but he would slaughter them. He blindly crawled through the short entrance, into the belly of the beast -- in the distance, you could hear vague Hylian words being shouted, the grinding of metal on stone, and a steady plink, plink... None of this mattered to Julius, however. He didn't care who they were, why there were here, or about what they were doing -- all he knew is that they deserved death. The cavern walls flew by as he glimped the dark cloth of a short creature.

    It was time.

The terror the two warrior-murderers unleashed was the stuff of nightmares. Cries of agony mixed harmoniously with the sound of blood splattering against stone. Sienna lost count of how many Bulbins she had cleaved, and how many corpses she had so artfully created. It seemed for once that Hylian bastard was actually almost keeping up with her. She wasn't sure whether to be impressed or annoyed.

The ruckus seemed all too brief. Sienna closed on one fool who was wise enough to cower and quiver in a corner for almost the entire fight. Was it already over? She was at least going to get some satisfaction with this one--and he was curled up so pathetically, practically begging for abuse and torture. Sienna abruptly planted her boot on the creature's shoulder, clutched its head and her hands, and gleefully pried the creature's skull backward--cracking, groaning, and squealing, until it finally broke off with an utterly grotesque sound only Sienna herself could enjoy.

Just as she was marveling at her new trophy, Sienna felt a sudden thunk hit her armor. She twitched in slight pain, but was relieved to realize the arrow-tip barely sunk through her armor enough to pierce her bicep. It couldn't have been even an inch deep. Painful as it was, she was more annoyed with repairs then injury. With a ferocious glare, she pinpointed the sniper in question.

Smartly, he was balanced upon a pipe-like structure which hung from the ceiling. Conveniently enough, it was right above the weaponsmith. Sienna smirked at him, "A gift for you, friend." Her free hand launched towards the creature, launching a sudden pulse that blasted it back, losing balance, and falling helplessly towards the Hylian.

Before the Bulbin was even halfway down, Sienna's head away to inspect the room. The last thing she needed was another sneaky arrow in her arm. A hiss of pain seeped out of her face, as a hand moved to brace her fresh injury.

Julius inexplicably launched himself in the air, filleting the Bulbin into ribbons on its way down to the floor. It would not have mattered whether or not he actually had slain it as brutally as he had -- no, he was sure that it would fallen onto the hard, rocky floor, and broken its stupid neck. Either way, with the inexplicably blue blood of Bulbins coating his sword, he looked around the room for his next target.

But there were no other Bulbins. They had wiped them all out -- what were they doing here, anyways? It was strange, to say the least. Either way, he needed to calm himself. He had gotten too caught up ravaging and tearing through the ranks of the Bulbins to notice much around him. There was... some kind of colossal door, with what seemed to be grooves running into the door. He wasn't sure what its purpose was -- maybe some kind of intricate lock, or... Maybe some kind of sacrificial implement? He shuddered at the thought, despite the carnage he had just wrought. Without a doubt, there was more than enough blood to fuel whatever twisted device it possibly was, but... It would be better to follow those grooves, first.

He began moving a hand along the grooves, following them to the left of the door. It lead down a passageway for some time, before leading up a twisting set of stairs. What came next surprised him -- there was visible lava, though thanks to his Goron Raiment, he felt no heat. His eyes fell upon... something? He was unsure what he was looking at -- it seemed to be some kind of... workbench, or wherever an armorer like Sienna would make a suit of armor.

He looked around the room more -- there was plenty of iron, hide, and whatever else they would need. It was . . . odd, to say the least. Perhaps they would need to construct some kind of armor to pass through whatever mechanism bound the door in its place? But what kind of armor would they need to make? There had to be... blueprints, or schematics, or whatever you wanted to call them lying around in this place somewhere.

He looked around the room, taking in where the paths led. Wherever they were, it seemed like this room led four different ways; north, east, west, and south. He waited for Sienna to scale the stairs, as he silently did a better sweep of the materials in the room.

Sienna was almost disappointed there was almost nothing around her except that bastard and a pile of corpses. Usually she made a point to leave at least one alive so she could, quite literally, rub dirt in its wounds for a while. Ah well. The warmth of foreign blood slipping into the crevices of her gauntlets still felt so inherently... "Exquisite," she whispered, marveling at the heart she now held in her hand, oozing copious amounts of the crimson flood over her palm and fingertips.

This was the real ,raw blood right here--the stuff that really reeked that hideously beautiful stench. The kills may not have been quality, but goddamn if this literal bloodbath didn't make up for it in quality. The stench of raw death surrounded her, and Sienna for the moment didn't want to lose it. She simply closed her eyes, inhaling deep, as a slight shudder ran through her wooden flesh and quietly rustled her armor. After about a minute of this bizarre appreciation, she let out a sigh, and dropped the organ idly back onto a lifeless Bulbin corpse. It wouldn't be long before that delicious aroma of fresh slaughter began to rot, anyway.

The weaponsmith likely heard Sienna's heavily armored form stomping up the staircase behind him, though both her boots and her empty hand were all visibly dripping with the crimson fluid. She ascended the stairs to see a most bizarre sight--what were tools like these doing in a place like this? Why did they have materials just laying around? Had this been a forge? Perhaps. Probably. With a callous drop of her voice, Sienna offered, "I will return here."

That said, she proceeded down an eastern path. She could hardly focus on crafting when there were likely more things around here to slaughter, anyway... Through the dim lighting of torches on goldenrod-colored walls, she could see something stir on the floor ahead of her. Those dark yellow tiles began to soar into the air, spinning rapidly--no doubt about to fling forward and break against her armor. As if that wasn't enough, she could hear the tell-tale sound of something wizzarping further down the corridor. Sienna grimaced, "Din Damnit."

Well, he knew Sienna was a capable fighter. But, he also suspected that there might be more around than what she could handle. He was honestly surprised that those Bulbin had been able to -- seemingly -- make any progress into this place at all. He was expecting hordes upon hordes of monsters and all manner of wild beasts -- from octoroks to moldorms, to Stalfos and beyond.

But so far, they had just encountered what was likely a tribe of Bulbin, and slaughtered them all within about a half a minute. It was probably some kind of record; what a shame no one recorded such things.

Then again, it was Hyrule. There was probably someone -- somewhere, out there -- who did. They just hadn't found them yet.

Either way, the telltale sound of wizzwarping echoed through the corridor. Julius couldn't be sure of what it was -- it was possible for a most things to gain the ability, despite its name being tied to Wizzrobes in particular -- but he knew, at least, to proceed cautiously and calmly.

His blade slid out of its scabbard without a sound. That was good. If it really was a Wizzrobe, he had the perfect defense. What a shame that Sienna, then, lacked any such armament. Perhaps he would make something for her, later, out of the same stuff.

They neared the sound. It was indeed a Wizzrobe -- not the typical beaked kind, but the more... esoteric ones, if they could be called as such. They wore wide-brimmed hats and coloured robes; some red, some blue, some green. Usually, it reflected on what element they relied upon. It was fairly apparent as to what element each colour relied upon.

This one, however, was black. Julius had never encountered a black Wizzrobe of this sort before; by Din's hell, he had hardly ever encountered this kind of Wizzrobe before. He couldn't even think of what it might rely upon -- shadow, maybe? That would mean that the pain of its attacks would exceed the actual damage it dealt to his body.

He thought to the Shadow Gems on Sienna's cleaver. "Stick to your Wakizashi, or your glaive, or--" He didn't want to limit her, but he also didn't want her to use her Cleaver, in the event that it used that very blade to its advantage. "--whatever you do, I would advise against the cleaver." All he needed to do was get into position -- and then, maybe Sienna or himself could impale it. They were excellent spellcasters; literal naturals at the art, in fact.

However, they couldn't take a hit to save their life, and he knew this quite well.

Sienna's wakizashi slipped from its scabbard with a smooth, metallic sound. Beneath her drawn mask, she was mildly annoyed to think this idiot thought she would be stupid enough to use a shadow-element weapon on a shadow-element magician. Magic wasn't her expertise, but still. Damn thing could probably have sapped the energy right out of her sword and used it against her, she imagined.

With Sienna and Julius standing more or less adjacent in a corridor which was barely wide enough for them to fight in, the Wizzrobe must have been at least 30 meters down, and was already casting one of its damned spells. The only thought in the Deku's mind was the need to close distance--to get close enough to end its life with one strike of her blade. Damn things were tricky but fragile. Even if she could sprint up fast enough to get it before it could teleport, the tiles all along the corner were beginning to spin and levitate into the air... Whether this was by the Wizzrobe's magic or just a trap in the dungeon, she couldn't be sure.

But it was something she'd seen before--too many times. The huge stone tiles were about to fling towards Julius or Sienna with enough force to knock over a horse. Rather than rush ahead, Sienna began to steadily approach. When the first tile shot towards her, her blade smashed into it with a blinding flash of white light. The tile fell behind her in two halves, with the severed edges of each piece still faintly glowing from the smiting brilliance of her sword.

"...Do you not have a bow, or something?" She wasn't going to outright ask for help, but the man was a tool for her to use. If he had something that would hit an obnoxiously elusive enemy a hundred feet away, it was damn well going to be used. Even as she spoke, Sienna cleaved a second spinning tile out of the air, and braced for a third--while carefully advancing down the hall, wary of what spell was about to be cast.

I should have put some Mirror Silver on that thing, is what he thought as he smashed through tiles in a similar way. That way, she would at least be able to reflect its spells away from her. She couldn't be too agile in her enormous armor, at least.

A swarm of tiles began to raise around them. Julius prepared a Spin Attack, and crushed them with little effort. He turned back to the task at hand: the Wizzrobe. It had finished casting whatever spell it was preparing; it appeared as a jet-black hole of... the best words Julius could use to describe it would be nothingness, or perhaps that would be incorrect. He wasn't the most well-versed in magical terminology, but he wasn't sure what this spell was exactly capable of. It was slow moving-- maybe it would detonate, or something similar.

You never quite knew what your opponent might be capable of, especially when it came to the more skilled ones, like Wizzrobes or Darknuts.

Regardless of what Julius was preparing for, the orb soon stopped in place. Gradually, rocks, sand, and all manner of debris began to drift into the vortex. It didn't take Julius long to see what was happening-- he was sure that if that spell was given enough time to progress, it would eventually consume the entire tunnel.

"I'll cover you," he said as he smashed down several more tiles. "You need to reach that thing before its spell collapses this entire tunnel." He looked around for a moment. He didn't necessarily have a bow, but... Well, he at least had his Hookshot. He quietly handed it to Sienna as tiles slammed into his shield.

The orb was perplexing--an attack Sienna did not see often, if ever. Soon she realized its nature, gradually sucking everything around--and seemingly growing in strength. She could feel the tip of her leaf ponytail tugging towards it, and expected at this rate her entire body would soon be sucked into that abyss. Caution could no longer be afforded: either she had to charge or flee, and damn if she was going to run from a single, obnoxious, emo-lookin' Wizzrobe.

Like a cannon from a barrel, Sienna shot forward with wild abandon. A tile crashed across her armored shoulder, summoning a grunt of pain--but her momentum kept her pushing through. The tiles soon couldn't keep up. Sienna thought she was simply running too fast--but in actuality that gravity hole was simply sucking them away before they could reach her. Soon she was upon the obnoxious creature--and her blade cleaved through the air with such immense force she swore she could have cleaved a tree clean in half with that one strike. A hiss of annoyance crept out of her mask, as the wizzrobe vanished into black smoke to evade her strike. "Cowards, as usual," she grunted.

Glancing back down towards the corridor, Sienna glared at the gravity hole--and that Hylian beyond it. For a moment, there was no sound aside from the steadily-rising hum of the ever-strengthening gravity orb. Her eyes searched for the black smoke, or anything that might hint at the damn magician's cowardly form. They needed to kill it... she assumed... to stop that damn spell. Her eyes narrowed, before bellowing out to her companion, "Behind you, idiot!"

Sienna's words never even reached the man --already, his ears had registered the faint 'hiss' as he manifested behind Julius; already, had his senses confirmed that the mage was out for blood. Julius wasted no time; his blade was already drawn, his arms already extended into the familiar form of a Spin Attack.

In another instant, a silver circle enveloped him and the black-clothed Wizzrobe. The wave of energy sliced cleanly through the Wizzrobe-- or at least it appeared to do so, for a moment. Before Julius knew it, the Wizzrobe he thought he had just sliced in half went up in smoke, and the real one appeared dead ahead of him. He knew what he had to do.

He was in his feet, moving quickly-- faster than he had any right to, at least. He approached the Wizzrobe with deafening footfalls. He was sprinting, now-- and even then, it felt like he was much too slow to make it to the wizard before his opponent vanished again. Or was it another illusion? He didn't have time to think-- there was only now, the present, in which he could do one of two things: stop, and consider possibilities, or act.

He leapt. His blade smashed into the head of the wizard; blood and gore practically exploded forth from the spellslinger's cranium, with bits of archaic knowledge and flowing crimson decorating the pitch-black plates of Julius' mail.

The gravity well disappeared almost instantly. The debris settled, almost harmlessly, along the floor of the tunnel. He looked towards Sienna and began moving the way the caster had come from, but not before checking the body of his opponent. Nothing useful had been found.

"Good riddance," Sienna grunted. With that damn thing dead, it gave her the necessary moment to catch her breath. Strong as she was, sprinting around in several layers of solid metal was not an easy feat. After sheathing her blade and recovering her glaive, the woman approached the fresh corpse--standing at the side of the weaponsmith.

A swift death was too good for such a contemptuous, cowardly creature in her mind. With a slight sigh, she reached her boot over its already-mangled skull, and brought it down with a sickening, gore-spewing crunch. It wasn't very satisfying, its body limply twitching from the impact. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she had hoped it would come back alive, somehow, just so she could inflict more pain on it. Oh well. Her helmet tilted to the side and up, meeting her companion. The man wasn't a complete fool, but still, she explained away her violence with, "...Sorcerers have survived worse."

The woman would never admit this to anyone, but she nonetheless realized it: she might not have survived that fight if it wasn't for this Hylian. Not only that, but bestowed her with what has become one of her favorite weapons in all her 50-plus years. Perhaps because of this, she at least wanted to know something about him. Through her cold eyes, it was a rare privilege to even ask this question, "...Why are you here, again?" Indeed, if he had even told her, she had already forgotten--or not cared enough to listen in the first place. To this day, she had yet to meet anyone else who routinely wandered into dungeons and camps for the pure adrenaline-fueled pleasure of slaughter--and thus she assumed the man had some nobler reason than herself.

"That is a fair point." He looked upon its robed corpse again. It could have been many things, he realized. Perhaps -- if such a thing were possible -- it could have been an exact body double, complete with all the gore that had fountained from his unguarded head. Honestly, with how ill-prepared the sorcerer was, it had to have been a fool to come here completely alone.

Or perhaps it simply wasn't expecting such resistance.

Either way, a folly. "As for why I am here..." He looked at Sienna's whole ensemble once more. "Please, stop me if I'm getting too verbose for your tastes." A genuine remark. He already knew how much Sienna disliked words and hearing about her compatriots, so he at least attempted to state his reasons with at least some brevity.

"Alright. I came here primarily to explore and record whatever findings I could. To that end, I similarly came prepared to harvest any ores or materials we might find here as well; you're a damn fine armorsmith as well, if the raiment I'm wearing right now is any indication. I'd like it if you could make me more gear. I know that armorsmithing isn't exactly something you do full time," he paused searching himself for the next part of his statement, "and I know I'd be lying if I said I thought I could handle this place on my own. Supposedly, it's teeming with all sorts of foul creatures the further you go in, and you were the first person I could think of that would be interested in something like this. There is, if my sources are correct, nothing to exactly plunder... So I doubt Guy would be interested. Just as well, most of my other contacts lack the breadth of combat experiences that you and I share."

He could go on about his reasons for hours. In the interest of time, however, he decided to cut what had been days of planning into a bit less than a minute of speech. "So, I guess if I wasn't exactly as concise as I planned, I came here to explore and possibly find useful materials."

He could only guess as to why Sienna had accepted his invitation to come along. "So, what about my vague request made you desire to come along?" He could have made a guess at the usual slaughter and bloodshed, but... Maybe, just maybe, Sienna wasn't exactly the gore-obsessed, slaughter-driven war machine he thought her to be.

Sienna's response was initially little more than a sigh. Just as the man had finished his explanation, she was already striding deeper into this place. Her mind was already considering the layout. There were already paths the two had avoided. Would she bother returning to them? Perhaps the cretins therein would be fortunate enough to avoid Sienna's scourge, she imagined, if only because exploring every nook and cranny of this place seemed like a hassle to her.

It was only about halfway through this line of thought she realized the hylian asked her a question in return. Oh. Yes, she recalled this was how conversations usually went... With mild hesitance, she stopped and turned back towards him. In a flat, deep voice, she only offered the words, "My desires are simple."

In her own mind, this challenge was not one with which she needed assistance. Bulbins were poor fighters, and rarely clever enough to make good traps. She had on at least one occasion leaped off a mountain to warlock-punch a dragon into the ocean, while being unarmed and almost completely nude. Even this place seemed a trifle by comparison. Again, she repeated to herself, she did not require assistance.

In truth, Sienna did not want to admit even to herself why she accepted the man's request. The woman disdains conversation, is mildly annoyed with other creatures for even being alive, and fantasizes regularly about how she will torture her next victim out of thousands. Yet, even a murderous blood-bathing sadist like her cannot remain isolated forever. There is a subtle need for contact with other beings--and it is companionship. It is why her brother and this man yet live. She draws from them the need to interact with other human beings on less-than-murderous terms, and they are allowed to direct a portion of her slaughter. It is a necessary exchange.

After a long pause, she simply repeats, "...My desires are simple." Turning away from him, she added a few more words--with the slightest of disdain. "I will consider crafting more mail for your use."

"Consider," he said to himself. She already knew that she could be compensated, if not with rupees, then weapons. But he supposed there were more pressing issues to turn to; namely, the exploration of this Goddess-forsaken place. There was hardly a corner where either of them could look, and not be inhabited by some kind of... creature. Whether that began at a Keese and ended at a Dodongo, or something even more fierce than that, didn't necessarily matter.

After all, what could stand up to a combination of two of the strongest warriors Hyrule had to offer? Well, there were lots of things that you couldn't brute force, but even then, neither of them were exactly stupid.

They made their way through the various corridors of this place with a nearly practiced ease. Keese here, Dodongos there... Then they came to a halt. Something was burning; Julius could smell it. He approached the smell of flames on the air of the cavern, briefly, before turning to Sienna. "Probably... If I had to guess, Dinofols would make the most sense."

Sienna gave him a slightly quizzical look. Dinolfos, she assumed is what he meant. Still, what gave him causation to suspect one? Regardless, she assumed he was most likely correct, and such a beast--or something similar--awaited them around the umpteenth corner of beige bricks.

If she wanted the advantage of surprise in combat, stealth was not an option--her fortress of mail was a tumultuous shambling of noise in an otherwise quiet environment. No, caution was not their ally. Swiftly, she motioned for Julius to follow, then--as if launched from a cannon--Sienna's body shot around the corner, glaive outstretched. Her eyes narrowed on the only living being here--and her charge adjusted towards it accordingly.

Chains rattled, a squeal of pain pierced the air. The glaive tore high into the air, splashing a spray of coarse green liquid freshly ripped from a Bulbin's gullet--her weapon stabbed clean through its neck. Before anyone seemed to realize it, Sienna found herself surrounded by six Bulbins--well, five, now--who were leading a muzzled, elephant-sized Dodongo on six leashes made of steel chains.

"Din's--" Sienna barely had time to curse, before both arms sprang up at once, struggling to parry two different warriors' axes with the thick armor of her gauntlets. A spear pierced several layers of the armor covering her abdomen, summoning a grunt of pain from her gullet. Before the next attack could strike, she clutched her Backshift Cape--and abruptly sprang back a safe distance, leaving the weapons stabbing and slashing through the air she occupied a moment ago.

Sienna's hand clutched the wound at her side momentarily. Her weapon of choice was forfeited from her grasp, now lodged in the still-twitching corpse... and the remaining five Bulbins seemed appropriately pissed about it.

Julius followed Sienna, clutching his sword and shield opposite each other, parrying strikes from roughly hewn axes and clubs alike. He lashed out at one Bulbin to his right, slicing deep into its chest, before withdrawing his blade and positioning himself again in an instant.

He sailed over the head of a Bulbin, carving through its skull and knocking its spasming corpse at least two meters from where it used to stand. As his feet touched the ground, he looked over to where the group had been grasping the chains on the Dodongo. They had scattered for cover, now-- a safe bet. Not that it meant a whole lot. He could find them; easily, in fact. Sienna, though, would most likely relish the thought of murdering these... things.

But there was at least one other threat that remained in their immediate area: the Dodongo. It was larger than some that he had seen, but it was not as gigantic as, say, a King Dodongo... Still large enough to devour one of those fools in a bite, which lead him to question just how the hell did they manage to capture that beast? Maybe there had been more to their group, and the rest were simply slain by the creature. That was the most likely answer.

And the beast itself was something to worry about; even with his Dodongo Hide, it didn't cover his face... But he figured it shouldn't be able to reach his face with its gale of flames. He sensed around his surroundings. It was...

He leapt back, watching the ceiling. It, of course, had managed to meander onto the cave walls, positioning itself onto the rocky outcroppings above him. It dropped and was nearly on him as he managed to evade its surprisingly well-thought plan.

He grabbed a nearby corpse, dropping his shield in favor of the cadaver. The Dodongo inhaled, an obvious cue. Julius was already prepared, and threw the body into the maw of the creature. He knew that, while he could take the blast and be fine, it would likely be better to evade, so he did.

He looked around his surroundings as flames washed over the Bulbin's body, scorching its flesh. Where was Sienna?

Though Sienna wouldn't admit it, Julius' abrupt entrance over a fresh Bulbin corpse gave her a much-needed moment to regain her focus after suffering that injury. The spear pierced her mail, and she was oozing sap. Her best guess suggested a vital wasn't pierced, but this battle would need to end before she could stop the liquid slowly oozing from her side... There was never one of them damn Nayru-loving spell-slingers around when you could actually tolerate their unending praise of that haughty bitch.

In moments, Julius had leaped over the enemy forces, and drawn away the Dodongo. What remains of the Bulbins--four, maybe?--were attempting to flee. Still clutching her wound with one hand, Sienna let out a bemused cackle. Her other hand outstretched, bellowing out a deep "HA!"--as a wave of invisible force shot out from her palm. The pulse struck the calf of a fleeing coward, and as it desperately struggled to its feet, Sienna was already high in the air.

...Two heavy boots plummeted down from unnatural height, striking through bone and flesh with a catastrophic, gut-rending CRUNCH. Even if the fool's death was quick, at least it was satisfying. Sienna's eyes quickly scanned the room. Two or perhaps three of the cowards were now hiding behind rubble in the far corners of the room, prepping bows--as Julius literally fed a corpse to the Dodongo. (Heh. At least he had style, sometimes.)

"Archers!" Sienna warned. As she raised her guard to both arrows, the two Bulbins took aim towards the distracted Hylian instead. Both iron-tipped arrows flew at once with a sudden hiss--a sudden wave from Sienna's Magnet Glove knocked one from its course, but Julius would need to handle the other shot on his own...

The arrow sang through the air. He turned, hoping to deflect it with his shield -- a moment too late, it seemed, a the arrow pierced into his shield arm.

He looked at his surroundings. There was the Dodongo. Sienna was hunting the two Bulbin archers, leaving the Dodongo for himself.

He dived out the way of another blast of fire, ignoring the pain shooting through his arm. Looking at his wound behind a pile of rubble, he realized what would be necessary... if only he had brought a potion, or a healing fairy, or something similar. Even water from a healing fountain would have sufficed, but... There was no telling how much longer they would be in this dungeon. If they didn't get through here quickly...

He didn't want to think about that. Tightening his grasp on his sword, he moved from behind the pile of stone and faced the salamander yet again. Avoiding a third burst of flame, Julius leapt into action, sailing over the length of the creature, settling near its most vulnerable point: its tail. Three swipes of his blade made the creature go into a sort of berserk frenzy; fire was frothing at its gums, its fangs shining an odd yellow color.

He moved back to where Sienna was, snapping off the shaft of the arrow in the process. "Would you like to do the honors?"
