To his immense relief, she woke up and she seemed fine considering her fall. Ni'Ran got up next to her, picking up the sword he had dropped when he had caught her. "Right. Stay close to me and let me know if you see or sense anything." He was first to keep descending the stairs, his eyes flitting around the tunnel for anything hostile. He would not be caught off-guard by-- "Aargh! That is-" Something had grabbed him everywhere; his shoulders, his neck, his arms, his legs- everything was suddenly grabbed and restrained. And yet there was nothing to be seen around them, not even a Keese.

"Aaaaargh- Vayrin, stand back-" He gave her a second, but then started to wildly swing his blade around. There was no real finesse to it, only raw power. And it worked- first his sword arm came loose, then his legs, and finally he ripped his free arm loose, stepping back and crouching to tear a mushroom from the ground, holding it in front of him.

Thin, sticky threads... they spanned from the ceiling to the floor and from one wall to the other. He looked at his sword, seeing the same threads dangling from it. "Is this a damn spider web?"

"Aw great..." Vayrin said in a sarcastic tone. She had witnessed Ni'Ran's struggle and pulled out her sword. "Skulltula webs...Giant spiders live in this temple..." She thought back on her studies. The giant arachnids had a hard outer skeleton, but it's soft underbelly was it's weakness. "If we encounter any, flip them over. Your sword won't do anything the Spider's outer skeleton." She said with confidence. Vayrin then crouched and ripped up a mushroom as well. She then cut the remaining threads of the web, and began slowly walking down the staircase...Expecting trouble.

Skulltulas, huh? Ni'Ran had faced a fair amount of Skulltulas over the course of his life, but he'd never fought any in the specific way Vayrin had just outlined. Still, it shouldn't be too hard to flip over what was essentially a big spider. Provided, of course, that they wouldn't get caught in another web, first. "Do you know if they're poisonous?" he asked her, serious. He'd been bitten by a poisonous species of Skulltula once; it was not something he was keen to re-experience.

As they discussed the creatures, they descended deeper into the tunnel, the only light coming from the mushrooms they were holding. Ni'Ran swished his around periodically, checking the walls for holes and branching tunnels... if he was about to be jumped by a giant, potentially poisonous spider, he wanted to be prepared for it.

"Afraid of bugs are you?" Vayrin chuckled. She then thought about his question for a moment. "Don't worry, the poison does not come until after it kills you." She smirked and continued walking...

After a couple more minutes of walking down the staircase in the tomb-like structure, they had reached flat ground. From what she could tell by the light of her mushroom, the tunnel continued to curve, but it no longer led downwards. Strange...Large patches of tall grass seemed to be scattered throughout the tunnel's mossy ground. She cautiously walked forward, hoping Ni'Ran was following her movements.

Suddenly a loud sound of a whipping vine was heard directly behind her, shortly followed by drops of liquid. Vayrin imminently knew who her assailant was, and quickly whipped her sword around. "Erng!" Vayrin's blade made contact with a stem like vine, and quickly cut it in two. Something fell over with a thump, and she quickly grabbed her mushroom and held it over the fallen foe. The vine she had cut looked to be a dangerous plant stem, with purple liquid oozing out of it. Her eyes followed the vine until they met with a large, blue, round eyeless head. It had an opening in which a long orange tongue hung out onto the ground, surrounded by venomous looking teeth... It was a Deku baba. Vayrin quickly breathed in to catch her breath, then wiped her blade on the ground. She head let her guard down once, and it was not going to happen again. After her last encounter with the monsters, she made sure of that. "Watch out for those..." She casually said to her companion. "They seem to be in this place as well..."

"Funny, aren't you?" Ni'Ran said, crossing his arms after Vayrin made fun of him. "You'd be nervous too, if you had a particularly bad reaction to poisonous ten-foot-long spiders in the past." Still, he grinned as he said it. Whatever didn't kill him would only serve to make him stronger, he was firmly convined of that. He followed behind Vayrin, making sure nothing followed them.

When Vayrin was attacked by a Deku Baba to her back, Ni'Ran was distracted by the ones snapping at him from either side. He caught the first one, jabbing the tip of his sword into the open mouth and making it reel back, slamming its head into the nearby wall and dazzling it. However, the other one managed to grab hold of his arm, needing to have its stem cut before it would let go. Ignoring the stinging in his arm, Ni'Ran then turned back to the first one, bringing down his sword and cutting the bulbous head in two.

"Yeah," he agreed with Vayrin, "Looks like it." As he followed behind Vayrin again, he walked a little slower, taking the time to wash his wound and wrap it with a bandage. He'd have to keep an eye on it, but it wasn't super high priority at the moment.

Vayrin began walking again, holding her mushroom up to illuminate their surroundings in one hand, her blade held steady in the other. The tunnel kept going for a while, the longer they walked, the more worried she became that she had blocked them inside this temple. On top of that she got a very odd feeling... Something about this place didn't feel right to her. Vayrin had a brief exposure to this feeling outside the structure, but she didn't have any time to dwell on it. Now they were inside though, the empty darkness of the building only made her mind draw nearer to these thoughts. They had been waying on her mind like some strange dark magic had fell over this place.

She cautiously looked behind them for a moment... Gazing into the inky blackness from whence they came. That's when she noticed Ni'Ran's arm. "Oh, your hurt." She said frowning. She set her bag down and opened it. Her hand darted inside to pull out a small red Ocarina. "I know something that can fix this." She said smiling. She stood beside the Rito and began playing a song which was known by most as the Sonata of Soothing.

"Oh, there's no need to... hmmmm." Ni'Ran began to protest, but eventually let her do as she pleased. She was right, anyway- the less this arm bothered him in the long run, the better a protector he would be. And if the Sonata of Soothing was her way to do it, then he wasn't imposing on any kind of magical reserve or finite supplies, either. With his arm fixed, they set out further, the tunnel finally letting up into a large, open room.

Ni'Ran had to suppress a gasp of awe. This room was not only large and open, but also well-lit by the blue mushrooms so they could see it in all its glory. Its ceiling was not visible, hidden by numerous thick branches growing out of it and the walls, and they were on a broad walkway in the middle of what looked to be a basin of water. Ivy grew on the walls and small, colourful fish swam around in the water. It was beautiful, but Ni'Ran had to stay focused.

For there, in the middle of the walkway, was a spider almost as big as him, and undoubtedly the creator of the web that had caught him off-guard before.

"Whoa...." Vayrin gazed at the room in total shock. She'd never seen anything like this before. She never thought a mere temple would have a room like this inside it, the basin of water was not a common sight. She looked around the room and stopped, staring at the large Spider. She glared at it, and unsheathed her sword. She stepped onto the walkway and got into a defensive stance, holding her blade steady in front of her. She looked back at Ni'Ran. "I got this." She smirked.

The spider stood dormant for a moment before it noticed it's foe. It's two front fangs clicked together and it jabbed it's legs in the air, then it started to run towards Vayrin. Though she had not faced these beasts before, she had studied them extensively, and along with her training, she knew her blade was more than a match for this creature. She imminently returned the beast's action as she ran towards it. She stood still as the Skulltula raised its front leg's to lash out at her. Vayrin swerved her body to the left, barely missing the beast's leg as it came darting downward to towards the ground. As it hid the old stone walkway, she immediately brought her sword down on it. The Spider let out a shriek as it's leg ripped off from a few strings of flesh left from her sword. She then spun herself around doing the same to the other front leg before the spider could counter. By this point the Skulltula was very angry, it raised its body with it's remaining strength to stab Vayrin with it's fangs. This was her chance. It exposed itself. "Hyya!" Vayrin plunged her sword upwards into the arachnid's soft underbelly just as it came rushing down to meet her. The spider let out another blood-curdling screech ash Vayrin struggled to keep the beast up with her sword. The Spider's fangs moved frantically as well as its back legs. Then it fell silent.

"Ergg.." Varyin then pulled with her remaining strength to get her sword out. She felt the blade come loose, and as it did Vayrin rolled backwards to dodge the Skulltula's body as it fell onto the cold stone, its blood formed a puddle under it. It was dead. Vayrin still stood there, breathing heavily staring at the beast, holding her blood soaked sword in front of her. She then slowly put the blade to the ground and leant against it. She looked back at Ni'Ran with her messy hair and swallowed. "Those things are tough...." She said then turned back and stared at the dead creature...

All the while as Vayrin fought the Skulltula, Ni'Ran stood watching with his sword drawn, ready to jump in if things looked like they would turn sour. However, to his relief, Vayrin handled herself admirably and he walked over to her and the dead spider, holding out a hand so she could use him for support. "They are," he said sympathetically. "A lot of people think Skulltulas are easy kills, but wait till you get to the ones that actively and cleverly use their armoured forelegs to guard their faces. Those are nasty." And the subspecies that had bitten him once and left him poisoned. So not fun.

He shook his head, bringing himself back to reality. He couldn't forget they had to find a way out, and there was only one door in the room, on the far side. As he walked passed over the stone walkway, he heard scuttling above him, but didn't pay it any heed. Walltulas were all over places like this and honestly, they were pretty harmless. As he reached the door, he inspected it, seeing large chains hang from it. He gave them a rattle. "Too sturdy," he said, "No way I'm gonna be breaking those off..." There was a padlock hanging from them. It was a little rusty, but seemed to still be operational. "Looks like we'll have to find a different way," he said, looking into the water. "Either that, or a key. Vayrin, do you know how to swim?"

Vayrin peered nervously into the dark water. The only life she saw were the little fish darting from one place to another. "You seriously think we are gonna find anything in there?" She pondered curiously. Although it would make sense. Whoever locked this door obviously didn't want anyone to find the key, so they could have tossed it into the water hoping no one felt like swimming. She slowly sheathed her blade. and squinted to look deeper into the water for any indication. "I think I see something...Looks like a hole in the wall underneath the door. From this angle, I can't tell where it goes, but it looks like it's not a dead end." She said, staring at the faint, quivering outline of said hole. She looked around and saw strong vines climbing the wall out of the water. Good. She could easily climb those if she needed to come back this way.

She gazed at Ni'Ran "I'll take a look around. Just make sure that Skulltula didn't have any friends nearby." After her little dance with the dead Arachnid, she didn't feel like doing it again. Vayrin then took a couple steps back and ran off the edge of the walkway, diving into the inky depth below.

"Be careful, now!" Ni'Ran called as Vayrin dove into the water. "I'll do a sweep of the room, so come back if you find anything, alright?" He watched her swim until he was assured nothing had ambushed her in the water, and then stood straight, his eyes scanning the room once more. As he had expected, there were handfuls of Walltulas nestling in the ivy on the walls, and a few Keese on the ceiling, but it looked like the Skulltula Vayrin had killed was the only one of his kind in here. He nodded, satisfied, and walked towards the door, turning around to the Skulltula's corpse and putting his hand on the hilt of his sheathed sword as he took a ready stance.

This was a technique he'd been practising for a few weeks, and he knew he almost had it down. With Vayrin exploring and counting on him to keep the room safe as a base of operations, he now had a chance to get some more practice in. His sword rang, and Ni'Ran kicked against the ground, launching himself a few feet forwards as he drew his blade and lashed out. He didn't quite reach the Skulltula, though, so he walked back and tried again. After a few times, his sword made contact with the arachnid's corpse and sent it flying upwards. He had no time to enjoy the taste of his victory, as he immediately jumped up to follow it with follow-up strokes. After all, it would do little good to just launch himself into the enemy's arms if he could not use the advantage of the surprise.

Finally, he lashed out one last time, launching the dead spider towards the other side of the room where it landed in the water with a loud, audible splash. Oops. He hoped that wouldn't be a problem for Vayrin.

Vayrin gasped as she breached the surface. The tunnel she swam through seemed to have lead to another room. She slowly waded in the water observing her surroundings. The area of water she was in was quite small, and pretty narrow. She looked in front of her to see old stone steps rising up from the water leading up to a platform. Might as well continue, she thought. She didn't want to keep Ni'Ran waiting too long, so she paddled towards them.

Vayrin climbed up the steps to reveal a rather large room. Like the one she was in before, it was lit by mushrooms, and infested with vines and thicket. No surprise there. The temple seemed to be hundreds of years old, so nature was making an assault on it. She gazed ahead to see another long narrow walkway over a basin of water. It lead to the other side of the room, which lied a dormant old chest. Huh, what is a treasure chest doing in a place like this... Vayrin slowly unsheathed her sword and began walking towards the bridge. She was about halfway across the bridge when she heard something move on the other side. She froze and readied her sword....

"SNORT?" Vayrin gritted her teeth and held up her sword. Something was the other side of a pile of rubble which lied beside the chest. Then, a creature about the same height as her popped it's head out from the other side. It looked remarkably similar to the Moblin they had faced outside the temple, only smaller. It was a Bokoblin to be sure of that. "Ohhh...Crap." Vayrin took a few steps back. A creature like this was not a real threat on it's own, but they usually came in numbers. Sure enough, the creature gazed around and spotted Vayrin. She was wide open. Bokoblin's eye's widened and it rushed out from behind the rubble. Holding a giant meat cleaver looking sword. Vayrin shifted her body into her defensive stance as the creature hollered out. Uh oh. She needed to get it quick. Vayrin lunged forward, her sword in front of her as she sprinted towards the beast. The Bokoblin spotted her as soon ash she lunged out for a stab. The panicked creature barely blocked it with it's sword, causing it to lose balance as it staggered to the side. She smirked. She spun around and slashed at the staggering creature, cutting it across the chest. The Bokoblin yelled in pain and dropped its sword. Vayrin then kicked it off the platform and into the water. She spun around and to her surprise, two more Bokoblins were standing there, battle ready. Her head darted around the room to figure out where they came from. She noticed a hole in the wall about 9 feet from the ground. It looked like an old pathway which lead into the room, but the stairs had been destroyed.
The Bokoblin's didn't hesitate, as the one on the right ran at her, sword held over it's head. She managed to block it with her blade as she held it steady for a moment before the other Bokoblin came for a stab. Seeing the rushing silver of the Bokoblin's sword, she let go of the block and rolled to the side, missing the stab barley. She then parred the beasts blade as soon as she regained her footing, making it stagger backwards. She took that time as an advantage to attack the second monster. She slashed twice left and right, the monster blocked both, but left it's lower body exposed for a kick. She jabbed her foot into the stomach of the monster. It yelled and leaned over, holding it's bruised belly. Vayrin then raised her sword over her head and stabbed the Bokoblin in the back and through the chest. The beast let out a terrified yelp in pain and fell to the ground. Satisfied with it's obvious death she turned around only to be slashed by the other Bokoblin that she had temporarily made stagger. She had forgotten about it. "Agh!" Vayrin fell over, the sword the Bokoblin struck her with hit her chest plate, so she was not hurt, but the slash was strong enough to push her to the ground. During her fall, her sword slipped out of her hands and slid out of her reach. Before she had time to grab it, the monster had jumped on top of her, its sword rushed down over it's head straight towards her. Vayrin lifted both her arms up. She had caught the Bokoblin's hands as it tried to slash her. Using all her strength, she held it's weapon up as it slowly pushed it closer to her neck. The Bokoblin's breath smelled horrible...It's head was only a few centimeters away from hers as it tried pushing the blade, and it was smiling. It's jagged fangs were dripping with saliva as it's blue tongue hung out doing the same. Vayrin growled at her foe as she struggled to hold it's blade up. The saliva dripped onto her cheeks. That is when she noticed that her legs were free to move, as the Bokoblin was not on them, it was kneeling in front of them. Using all the force she could spare, Vayrin quickly curled her leg, and darted her knee towards her head, the Bokoblin's in the way. Her knee jabbed the monster's chin, forcing it to shut on it's hanging blue tongue. She felt the Bokoblin's grip falter as it bit it's tongue, using the split second to her advantaged, Vayrin yelled and pushed the blade up and over, simotainisly rolling the two over. The Bokoblin panicked as the two switched roles, and Vayrin yelled as she used her strength to force the blade down on the monster's neck.

Vayrin breathed heavily as she lied on the ground. She had slain three Bokoblins. Her first time fighting those vile monsters and she was out of breath. She swallowed and slowly shook her head as she leaned upwards. She got up and walked towards her sword, which he had dropped during the battle. She leaned over to pick it up and put it in her sheath. This had better be worth it. She looked over at the old rusted chest. Judging by the security, it had to have something worth protecting in it. She walked towards it and knelt down. Vayrin tried to pry it open, but the chest was really old, and seemed stuck shut. She pulled out her sword and placed it in between the small crack of the chest's lid. She then pushed down on the handle (hoping it wouldn't break her blade.) Sure enough, after a few seconds of pressure, the chest's lid snapped open. She quickly looked inside. It was mostly empty, except for a small iron object. It was a key. "Yes!" Vayrin said to herself. She didn't risk her life for nothing. hopefully, this would make up for the time she was gone. It was as good as she was going to get in this room anyways. Vayrin smiled and threw the key up in the air, catching it again. It was a large key, so it looked like it may be able to open the large lock on the door they found. It had a circular handle, with little iron stubs protruding from it. She placed it in her bag, and dove back into the water.

Vayrin swam back through the hole in the wall to her surprise to see half of a Skulltula floating in the water. It's blood was mixing with it, making the water turn a dark color. After seeing this, Vayrin rushed back to the surface. and gasped for air. She was back in the large room. She gazed up at Ni'Ran who was on the walkway. "Hey!" She hollard out to him. "I think I found what we were looking for," She said. She then turned around and swam to the vines, avoiding the half dead spider in the water. A few moments later she had climbed the vines and got back on the walkway. She gazed in silence and shock at the dead spider, seeing as it's body was missing a half. What did Ni'Ran possibly do? She looked at him with awe for a couple moments but then shook the feeling. "I..Uhh...Found this," She said, holding out the key to Ni'Ran. While staring at the dead spider. "I think it's the right one," she continued. "It better be." She said angrily. "It wasn't easy to get..." She thought back to her battle with the Bokoblins...

"I can tell," Ni'Ran said, pointing at the girl's blood-stained clothes. "I take it that's not yours?" He said it with subdued concern in his voice, but he figured that if Vayrin were injured, herself, he would have been able to tell by now. He accepted the key from her, using it to open the padlock and pull the heavy chains off the door blocking their way. "I have no idea what's on the other side of this," he told her. "If it's dangerous, leave it to me. You must be tired from all that swimming and everything you've had to do to get that key."

He smiled at her as he pushed the door open, but his smile was quickly wiped from his beak when a sword was swung towards his neck, forcing him to crouch to keep his head atop his shoulders. He immediately perked, at attention, and looked at where the blade had come from. In front of them was a skeleton wielding two large, rusty swords and taking a step back, undoubtedly the culprit behind the attack. "As I said," Ni'Ran said, drawing his own sword and holding it out to signal to the skeleton that he accepted its challenge, "Leave this to me. Try to see if there's any other exits to this room in the meanwhile."

He approached the Stalfos, which gave a scream that should have been physically impossible. "Come, then!" he bellowed his own challenge, "Do you think I'm afraid of a bag of bones? Because I'm not!" With those words, he assumed a defensive stance, waited two seconds, and then launched himself forward, lashing out with his sword in an attempt to knock an arm off a shoulder. To his surprise, however, the Stalfos was faster, positioning its own sword in such a way that Ni'Ran's clanged against it harmlessly. "Oh, you think you're clever, do you?" He said, taking a step back and re-assessing the situation.

Vayrin stood staring in shock at the scene in front of her. A giant skeleton just tried to chop of Ni'Ran's head. She quickly unsheathed her sword again, but then listened to Ni'Ran's comment. She was about to tell him "No way am I leaving this fight just to you!" But then she thought otherwise very quickly. Something about him told her to listen. he obviously knew what he was doing so he didn't really need her help. She nodded at his request. She used the Skeleton's attention on Ni'Ran to sneak by into the room they had just opened. It was also rather large, bigger than the one they had been in previously. It was a large circular room, with a large looking hut-like structure situated in the center. She looked franticly for another way out when she noticed a large grate like door. Giant sharp bars locked the way through, but she then noticed that the wall above it had cracked and given away in some places, leading into the room the grate was sealing off. She ran up to the structure and peered through the bars. The room looked like it continued into a hallway, so it was not a dead end. She looked around and noticed a small red like lever beside the grate on the inside of the room. She safely assumed that was the key to getting it open. And idea started to formulate in her head. She could get through the hole in the wall above the grate, and use the lever to open it for Ni'Ran, he could the lure old rattle bones into it, and she would let go, slamming the sharp spikes on the skeleton. This could work, she told herself. Vayrin looked back at Ni'Ran and the Skeleton. "Ni'Ran! Lure him to me!" she called back. She turned not waiting for his response and took several feet back from the wall. She was about to start running towards it when a small "Whoosh!" was heard and then a "Clink!" She froze and gazed at the ground in front of her. A small stone-tipped arrow lied almost shattered in front of her. Her head spun in the direction of it's coming to see a Green looking Bokoblin, standing on a ledge several feet above the ground holding a bow, and aiming another arrow. She knew almost imminently what was going on. Vayrin quickly dove into cover of the large hut-like structure in the middle of the room, away from the green Bokoblin's arrow. She then lifted her sword up, as it began charging with a dark aura.

Ni'Ran glanced towards Vayrin when he heard her call out to him, but seeing the Bokoblin ambush her he decided to wait with executing her plan. She had the right idea, but they'd need a clear shot. In the meantime, he could try and take out the Stalfos the traditional way.

His moment of distraction was punished by a sword swing, but the Stalfos hadn't counted on the Rito's reflexes letting him parry almost without looking. Despite its different fighting style, Ni'Ran noted it was a Stalfos like any other; ruthless and strong but with very little finesse behind its swings. Predicting where it would strike was not hard, so he could parry in such a way he could limit the strain on his weapon. That was his disadvantage; although his opponent itself had no meat on its bones, its swords were big and heavy, and with enough pressure, could easily break his sword if they collided poorly.

Fortunately, Ni'Ran had been around the block a few times by now. Parries and counters were second nature to him, and he soon found himself falling into a steady rhythm of swings and jabs. If he could just take off one of the Stalfos's arms, he could use that opening to break down the rest of it as well. It didn't have a shield like some others, so it should be possible, but every time he lashed out he only struck one of the Stalfos's swords. Looked like he wasn't the only one who knew how to parry.

Seeing as Ni'Ran found her current situation, she continued to focus on the Bokoblin. Her sword began to shine with a dark aura, similar to when it did at the temple entrance. The black orb began spinning on the edge of her blade, and then she dove back out. She spun around viciously with her sword lunging in the direction of the Bokoblin. It detached itself from her blade and went flying at the monsters position. The panicked creature let it's arrow go too late, and it was enveloped by the black ball. It then struck the creature in the chest, the physical damage knocked it off balance, and it fell to it's death with a sudden "Thump" sound as it hit the cold stone. Smiling, Vayrin returned to her original plan. She turned and sprinted towards the wall. With her momentum she managed to run up a couple feet and grabbed the ledge of the hole.

A few moments later, the rusted metal of the cold steel lifted itself from the earth , revealing a way into the next room. Even if Ni'Ran could finish off that skeleton without her help, they needed a way out case things went south. She hung on the metal lever that she predicted would open the door. She reached her blade towards the ground to catch and lift a lone vine snaking on the floor. She managed to slide her sword underneath it, and flick it up in the air. She switched her hands on the lever and grabbed the vine. Satisfied with it's thickness, she began to knot it around the lever. Convinced it would hold it down, Vayrin dropped dow from it, and ran outside through the now open doorway, holding her sword in case she needed to intervene in Ni'Ran's battle. She could help him a little, from this distance she could hit the Skeleton with a shadow bolt. She pointed her sword in front of her, and the aura began to charge again, while steadily watching the battle. Her sword's tip was covered in darkness, she then spun around and lunged out toward the Skeleton, releasing the orb as it flew towards the Stalfos. She knew it could distract the monster long enough for Ni'Ran to do the rest.

Parry. Dodge. Dodge again. Parry. Counter. It was a dance Ni'Ran was familiar and comfortable with, and he became so lost in it that he didn't know how long he had been at it until he saw an opening. The Stalfos suddenly shuddered and froze, as if something had struck it, and lowered its swords ever so slightly. In retrospect, it wasn't a big opening, but Ni'Ran only needed a small opening to capitulate on. He swung his sword in over his shoulder, before swinging it back out and getting the Stalfos in a weak spot in its shoulder. It reeled back, its arm dropping to the ground. With only one sword at its disposal, it couldn't block all of Ni'Ran's strikes anymore.

Least of all because now that he knew his adversary to be vulnerable, Ni'Ran went on the offense rather than the defense. The tempo of his dance increased at once, the Rito slashing and jabbing at the Stalfos from unpredictable angles and with varying strength, as much to throw his opponent off as to actually damage it. Stalfos didn't bleed, obviously, so he knew this could take much, much longer than he cared for if he were to try and defeat it the traditional way. Fortunately, he had seen Vayrin carry out her part of the plan, and was not trying to hurt the Stalfos. Rather, he drove it back, first turning their duel so the other's back faced the entrance the girl had opened, and then slowly but surely taking steps forward, forcing the Stalfos to take steps backward.

It took patience, that much was for certain, but finally, Ni'Ran stopped walking and switched back to the defensive to keep the Stalfos in place. "Vayrin!" he said, "Now!" Normally, he'd cut the vine himself, but he needed two hands to wield his sword against a fellow sword-wielder easily as tall as him.

Vayrin had observed the two fighting, getting ready to rush in at any moment. Although it seemed her distraction worked to some extent, Ni'Ran cut off one of the Stalfos's arms. Every little bit helps she thought. She immediately got into position when she saw Ni'Ran trying to push the Monster into her trap. She unsheathed her blade and waited for the moment.

The Rito yelled at her to execute the plan, and she followed through without a second thought. The Stalfos was in the perfect position, directly under the large spiked gate. Vayrin let out a yell as she attacked the vine, and with a quick snap it whipped apart. The cold iron shook, and then fell towards the ground, directly on top of the Stalfos. The impact was so much, the large monster dropped to the ground, it's body cut in two by the gate. With a large bang like sound, it locked itself into it's previously closed position.

Vayrin gave a sigh in relief. "Well," She said to Ni'Ran as she stared at the fallen skeleton "That was exciting" she continued, smiling.

"Yeah," Ni'Ran agreed, sheathing his sword. "Great job, kid." Vayrin was something else, that much he'd figured out by now. She'd not only come up with an executable plan in a very short timespan, but she'd accounted for both his abilities and her own in executing it. That was impressive, and he felt himself relaxing a little. Clearly, he could let up a little bit and count on the girl to take care of herself if he looked away for a few minutes. "Now, then..." he said, looking around, "That door is the way we got in here." He pointed at it. "This gateway is now inaccessible..." he pointed his thumb over his shoulder at the dead Stalfos, "So... I would say the only way to go is up?"

He looked up, hands on his hips as he gauged the ceiling. It was high, which was no surprise considering how deep they had gone into the tunnels before getting here. Branches, vines, and canopies littered the ceiling, sticking out of the walls, and would no doubt be easily traversable to people of their agility, as long as they managed to make it there in the first place. He grinned. Fortunately, if there was one thing that was absolutely no problem to him, it was vertical movement. He turned back to Vayrin. "Hop on my back. I'll fly us up there." As if to illustrate his point, he extended his pinions, covering his arms in large black wings.

Vayrin sheathed her weapon as Ni'Ran explained their current situation. If they could find a way out of this place, she was glad to have him as her unexpected companion. Clearly strong enough to hold off an overgrown skeleton the same size as him was no ordinary feat.

"Wait...Up?" Vayrin replied to Ni'Ran's suggestion. She followed his gaze to thick canopy that sheltered the ceiling above them. It was worth a shot she guessed, since it was overgrown with nature, there could be something up there, but getting up was the only problem. She looked back at him. "And how do you suppose we ge-" Ni'Ran had extended two large black feathered wings from his back. Something Vayrin had completely forgotten he had, as he had yet to show them since they met. "Oh, right. You're a Rito." She said watching the two large wings with a face of awe. He was actually the first Rito she had met. Gorons and Hylians were the only species she had seen before, so seeing these wings was an interesting sight to her.

"You want me to get on your back?" She said worryingly and gazed up back at the ceiling. She had no doubt he could carry her, seeing how strong he was. She only felt it awkward to hold on to him as he flew upwards. She decided to put the awkwardness aside, for the sake of them finding a way out of here. It was her doing after all. "Al-alright." Vayrin said as she slowly wrapped her arms around his back, and prepared for his next move.
