Castus rolled out of the girl's grip and pushed himself toward the enemy as fast as the sand would allow. It seems that they had been detected after all, and other Hylians followed his example by charging with him. For once he regarded the Hylians as being better than the Gerudo, the former actually charging into battle while the latter merely sat and waited.

It mattered little thought, a few soldiers fell from the what arrows the moblins managed to fire, but most simply missed or were blocked by shields. In the ensuing fight the Hylians held a small advantage, while they were vastly outnumbered, they were generally better trained for such a fight and were actually expecting it.

Castus managed to kill many of the unaware archers and side-guard that came to their aid, saving many lives while doing so; though more than once he was saved from a nasty blow by another soldier. Hell, despite the initial attacks and the loss of surprise, they were actually faring fairly well, most of Ganon's army was held up defending the bridge as expected, unaware or uncaring of what just happened to their rear support.

That was until some moron started throwing explosives around, sure it killed a few moblins, but it starting really breaking the bridge and attracting some attention away from the front lines back into the ambush group, in addition to patrols and rear-guard joining the fray.

    ...

Castus' hands were soaked in blood, annoying and uncomfortable sensations seemed to flow throughout his body, citing multiple minor injuries. Even if he had killed innumerable moblins and Bokoblins in the last few minutes more just keep pouring into the second battle, even the sky became dominated by a single figure, teleporting and casting magic beneath him.

Lysis held her right hand, the thumb of which had been crushed between a man's foot and a rock. Not broken, but it would be sore. When she got up, she noticed she was one of a very few who had held back at the river's edge. Most of them were Gerudo. She drew her sword and told them, "Come on. They'll lose without us."

True or not, it got some of them to smirk and charge with her.

The Hylian girl leaped over the front lines, flipped, and brought Talon down on the head of a moblin in front of her. Bokoblins and the like were mixed in, and the Hylian girl swept her blade in an arc first in front of her and then twisting on her heel, behind her. The woman leaped again, landing in a small knot of well-armed bokoblins that were giving a group of the attackers a bit of trouble. She swung Talon in the double set of arcs again.

Her father's cape was proving a useful item to have.

She leaped over to a set of archers that were mostly finished off. One had notice their attacker and started firing at him. Lysis landed on his shoulders, knocking him flat. She stabbed downward, ending the threat, before waving to her comrade.

    -----

The fight continued for maybe the better part of half an hour. King Mahirid had joined the frey at some point and from what Lysis could see, was tearing through the fierce yet small remaining opposition. The Western Caves woman had trouble holding up her sword. She was near the back of the bridge's attackers.

Chimera brought her shield up, looking at the Darknut. His armor was thick... But the Gerudo had fought armored enemies in the past. She knew she could bypass it fairly easily. Unfortunately, he also looked like a trained swordsman... So the combat itself wouldn’t be easy. Chimera ran towards the knight, focussing her power towards her sword. As the knight swept his blade low, Chimera sprung up with a helm splitter, slashing at his head. The darknut raised an arm, blocking the slash, but the metal covering its forearm shattered, Chimera using shield breaker alongside the helm splitter. After she felt the metal break beneath her, she pointed her sword down, stopping in midair and dropping.

Luckily for the darknut, he kept a limb by diving out of the way, shockingly agile for a heavy enemy... It looked at its arm before lunging at Chimera, doing a vertical cut down. Chimera sidestepped and lunged for his unarmored arm, but the massive knight reached forward, grabbing her face and smashing her down on the bridge. It stepped back, bringing up its sword to smash her, but Chimera placed her shield over her, bringing massive pain to her arm and chest, but she was alive. Before it could slash again, she rolled forward beneath its legs, seeing the strings along its back, so she leapt up, cutting them and seeing his armor fall off. Now in just chainmail, the knight threw his sword at Chimera. She used helm splitter to jump over the massive blade, though she heard it impale a moblin fighting somewhere behind her. The Darknut pulled out a more standard sword, dashing quickly at her.

She blocked with her buckler, going for her own slash, though now with much higher speed, she was unable to get her sword in for a hit. It pushed her back, though Chimera eventually grew tired and frustrated. She knew she couldn’t hold up for too much longer. She had to get rid of his weapon... She leapt back, ready to swing her sword at him when he charged and indeed he did. Their blades met as he blocked her swing, and by virtue of shield breaker, his sword shattered into pieces. He was stunned, and Chimera used this shock to lunge in, stabbing her blade through his chainmail. It pierced flesh, though she knew he wasn’t down yet. With animalistic rage, she brought her buckler up, smashing him in the side of the helmet with him again and again, creating and expanding a huge dent.

Eventually Chimera could see the knight was badly stunned and pulled out her sword, jumping up a little and using plummeting blade, the extra speed from the stab piercing deeper and ending its life. With a sigh, Chimera looked up and pulled out her sword. The Gerudo were indeed pushing forward, it’d only be a matter of time before all the moblins were dead. Racing forward with the others, she started ensuring she got as many kills to herself as possible.

OOC:Alright, I'm going to do a little timeskip in this post, Hope no one minds.

IC:At last, the fighting was over. The whole lot of them were slaughtered, darknuts, moblins, bokoblins, and all. Lysis's left arm burned and her muscles trembled all over. Her heart beat fast and as exhausted as she felt, she was also feeling exhilarated. Less than one hundred of Mahirid's force was slain, and the bridge was now open.

The victors were now stripping their dead for a shallow burial. It was all they had time for. Lysis knew this, and so when she saw what they were doing, she started helping by pulling bodies out from under other bodies.

The first one was the worst.

The gerudo was trapped beneath two moblin corpses. She grabbed the arm and pulled. After a while of that, it started to emerge. First the shoulder, then the torso. The upper portion of clothing, the wrap that gerudo usually wore, had been torn. Lysis just tried observing objectively, but after that, the head came out.

It was barely recognizable as such. A mace had brained her.

Lysis threw up over the side of the bridge. This was going to be a looooong task.
    ----
After that night and most of the next day, the Hylian was sick of dead bodies, but the task of burying their dead was done. Falis was not among the corpses, but neither was she here, from what the western caves native could see. The Hylian hoped that she was still alive and well.

Now that the bridge was crossed and the waterskins refilled with fresh water, the small army was not walking over sand anymore, but grasses. Plains that rippled as far as the eye could see, like a sort of greenish ocean.

Lysis stood at the edge of the camp, looking southward.

Soon, sounds of swooshing and maniacal laughter accompanied by large rays or balls of magic rained down upon their forces. Friend and foe alike were split in twain by the chaotic waves of force that seemed to emanate from its very being as a twisted, masked beak appeared over the skirmishing crowds. Ganon's forces were in absolute disarray, and yet they were still immensely vicious, cunning warriors to their ends. Their forces seemed almost equal in sheer prowess, yet the desert-dwelling combatants had the advantage of strategic planning and a natural tool that seemed to drive the rampaging pigmen insane, their plunge into the depths of madness causing them to brawl amongst themselves, caring for naught but another whiff of the glorious seedlings that had so powerfully overwhelmed their senses. The infighting hogs effortlessly fell to the pikemens’ spears and glaives, their uncaringness being replaced by the hollow feeling of death. The archers attempted to stave off the incoming support the monsters seemed to have. While it was true that they held one advantage over the wandering desert folk, as their unmatched magical prowess began to shift the battle in their favor, they proved to be far less durable than the Moblins and other assorted forces that held fast through their assault. Though their archers made short work of them, disposing of them as they came, they seemed to have an endless supply of the magicians, and soon, their source became realized.

A trio of eloquently robed sorcerers drifted over the warring crowds, sending forth hazy puffs of black smoke. Monsters waded out of them by the dozens, fully armed and armored. Darknuts emerged in glistening sets of expertly crafted steel armor, Moblins walked forth clothed in ragged pants, alternating between both bow and spear as their ribbons flowed delicately amongst the air, only to fall a moment later. There were of course many variations among these disgusting creatures, Darknuts at times unveiling themselves garbed in ebony armor, wielding enormous maces coupled with immense, protective shields seemingly unable to buckle under the might of even five of their warriors. Soon enough, however, their armor would be stripped, and they would instead opt for a far more mobile approach to fighting their chosen enemies, drawing a plain sword from an otherwise unassuming scabbard.

Soon, however, the sorcerers would fall. No thanks in part to Lucian himself, of course, the expert marksman had trained their arrows well upon them, and with a magnificent flurry of twangs, the wizzrobes at first fell, crashing into the bridge like a falling star. Unfortunately enough, one of the three managed to land upon his own summon's spear, though his body soon began to burn up in a bluish fire, his remains drifting off amidst a peculiar breeze that seemed to sweep the bridge at that point. The fighting stopped comparatively soon. Ganon's forces had been routed. They had taken the bridge.

Their task was far from over, but they were a step closer to their goal. With an audible sigh, Lucian propped himself against the side of the bridge, admiring the current. His axes were free of blood, and he himself was still unclothed, his shirt being discarded along the opposite shoreline. His face was reddened with the sure signs of sunburn as the sun began to set. His entire body ached, surely enough, and he was ready for a long rest. The forces were soon to reunite, and set camp along the grassy borders of Southern Hyrule. They had made it out of the Tantari at last.

Soon enough, the bloodshed was over. Chimera had spent the entirety of the fight on the frontlines, and as such, was exhausted. Her chest heaved as she put away her scimitar, her body drenched in the blood of the moblins, and even a few Gerudo who'd died near her. It seemed that everyone was giving the desert survivor a wide berth. They knew she wasn't one of their own, and that she'd merely joined the fight out of either hatred of their enemy, or pure bloodlust. Either way, Chimera sat upon the bridge, looking at the people all setting up those strange tarp houses... It was her first look at other real civilization, even if it was nothing more than a walking army.

For now though, she sat upon a Moblin's chest, carving off some of the creature's flesh. She left it on the cleaned sword of one of the fallen Gerudo in large strips, the sun beating down upon them and heating the sword up. Of course, the only way to ensure meat survived out here was to dry it. And it had been a while since she'd last had Moblin Jerky... She found herself salivating as she took a bite of one of the dried pieces.
