    Racial Abilities (open)

Plant Composition (Innate) - Being a plant rather than an animal, Peahats have various unique aspects of their physiology.

First, they can survive on sunlight, water, and minerals easily found in most soil or spring water. Despite this, many who have been conditioned to eat the food of other races usually crave to do so, often to the point of addiction.

Secondly, after reaching adulthood around twenty years or so, they age very slowly in comparison to most other races, often not having natural death until at least two centuries after their birth.

Third, their bodies are composed of hard wood, and their "hair" is made of leaves, and they "bleed" sap. Overall, this makes them somewhat more resilient to certain types of attacks (forceful impacts) and somewhat weaker to others (slashing cuts). Above all, they are weak to Fire-based attacks, as their bodies are extremely flammable. In addition, getting into water past their heads for more than a few seconds can be lethal, in a similar way to how eating too much too fast can be deadly for a Hylian. This weakness to fire can be overcome with Goron Armor, Fireshield Earrings, or other protective gear crafted from Dodongo Hide. The weakness to drowning can be negated with Zora Armor, a Mermaid Suit, or other protective gear crafted from Silver Scales.

Deku Leaf - A large, healthy green leaf which never decays. According to rumor, it sprouted from the Great Deku Tree itself. This leaf is a racial perk for Deku Scrubs, Skull Kids, and Koroks. As such, a member of any such race can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If that individual chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

When swung as a weapon, the Deku Leaf belts forth an oddly-powerful gust of wind which shoots forward along a long, straight trajectory. When held overhead, the leaf can function as a surprisingly potent parachute, given its size. While most races can use the parachute effect, some beings, including most Gorons, are too heavy to make use of a Deku Leaf of any size. Deku Scrubs and Koroks with the Korok Copter technique can use a Deku Leaf to fly.

Korok Copter - To use this technique, the user must have a Deku Leaf in hand. Korok and Deku Scrubs with this ability are capable of using this Deku Leaf to fly rather than simply glide. The user must hold the leaf overhead, and channel his body's energy into it. Doing so will enable the leaf to split into two separate blades, then rapidly spin, until the lift caused by the helicopter-like blades brings the user airborne. The maximum speed of this method of travel is rather slow without the aid of wind, generally preventing the user from moving any faster than he or she would be able to jog. Once the technique is no longer in use, the Deku Leaf will return to its normal form.

Language of Flora - Due to their unique physiology, and origin as servants of the Great Deku Tree, both Koroks and some Great Fairies are capable of communicating with all forms of plants--from simpleminded grass blades and algae, to wise oaks hundreds of years in age. This is done through a silent method of communication not unlike telepathy, and can be done over maximum distance of about a 12 feet (or 4 meters). It takes a Korok or Fairy only a few moments to establish a link to a plant, whereas any other race requires at least a minute of meditation. Once the caster has established a link with this spell, the plant can communicate back in the same fashion so long as the caster mentally maintains the channel and stays within distance. The caster can also function as a line between two plants otherwise unable to communicate.

Generally, most plants given communication by this spell cannot articulately express themselves, only offering images or approximate senses, though an observant caster can still make use of these. Older and larger plants may be able to communicate more articulately, particularly age-old trees. Creatures already capable or nearly capable of speech, such as Deku Scrubs or other Koroks, can of course articulate their thoughts extremely well.

    Treasures (open)

Scent Seed Supply - A Scent Seed appears as a spherical orange fruit, with small protruding spikes or burs. When a Scent Seed is cracked open, it releases a strange and pleasant scent that strongly attracts many feral animals and monsters. The burs protruding from the seed make for particularly effective slingshot ammunition. Do to these burs, Scent Seeds have a tendency to get caught on clothing or fur.

This treasure represents an ample supply of these seeds, and as such the owner always has just enough for routine use of them. These seeds are enough for practical use, but they are not pure enough to be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. For pure, individual seeds suitable for cultivation, see Scent Seed. A skilled Botanist can consume four pure seeds to produce an effective Supply.

Ember Seed Supply - An Ember Seed appears as a small fruit, with a color and shape which resembles a flame. When an Ember Seed is struck against a hard surface, it bursts open in a fiery spark that can damage those near it. These seeds work effectively as a means of igniting a flammable object or as slingshot ammunition.

This treasure represents an ample supply of these seeds, and as such the owner always has just enough for routine use of them. These seeds are enough for practical use, but they are not pure enough to be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. For pure, individual seeds suitable for cultivation, see Ember Seed. A skilled Botanist can consume four pure seeds to produce an effective Supply.

Glow Seed Supply - A Glow Seed appears as a small fruit, yellowish-white in color. When a Glow Seed is struck against a hard surface, or otherwise broken open, it bursts open with a brightly glowing powder which clings to nearby objects. The dust can light up a small room, or mark a veiled subject to visibly track its location. The dust has a tendency to rub off on what it touches, so a person walking through it will typically leave numerous footprints behind. Finally, any creature aligned with darkness--such as an undead monster or a being with a Dark Affinity--comes into contact with the glowing dust, they will find it extremely itchy, hot, or otherwise irritating. This irritation doesn't cause lasting damage, but will distract the afflicted being from casting spells, or ward off its approach. The glowing dust, and all of its effects, will end after several minutes' time.

This treasure represents an ample supply of these seeds, and as such the owner always has just enough for routine use of them. These seeds are enough for practical use, but they are not pure enough to be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. For pure, individual seeds suitable for cultivation, see Glow Seed. A skilled Botanist can consume four pure seeds to produce an effective Supply.

Boko Baba Seed Supply - A Boko Baba Seed, or simply Baba Seed, appears as a barbed purple-and-green seed, the size of the user's fist. This single seed is pure and potent, and as such can be useful as a material to be used by a Botanist. By contrast, a Boko Baba Seed Supply is a collection of less pure seeds which retain the same practical use, but cannot be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. Using just four of these potent seeds, a skilled Botanist can cultivate a Boko Baba Seed Supply.

A Baba Seed's spikes edges make it effective ammunition for a slingshot or shooter, but unlike most mystical seeds, it triggers no special effect on impact. Instead, placing one of these seeds on suitable ground will cause it to quickly sprout and bloom into a Baba Bud, over the course of less than a minute. A Baba Bud is an exotically-colored bud, up to three feet (or a meter) across. The user or one of their allies, can step into the bud, which will cause the bud to immediately begin to "chew" on the user as if he was an insect the bud was attempting to digest. After a brief moment, the plant will realize its mistake, and violently--but consistently--spit the user straight up into the air. The distance shot varies by size and weight, but a typical Hylian will be shot to ten to twenty feet up. Heavier races like Gorons, or larger races like Lynels and Darknuts, may be unable to leap more than a couple feet.

If watered and otherwise cared for, a Baba Bud can mature into a full Boko Baba. If done manually, this will take about an hour. Spells or other effects which hasten plant growth can do so almost instantly. A Boko Baba is a violent and carnivorous, but stationary, plant monster which attacks all living beings near it in the attempt to consume and digest them in its jaw-like petals. A Boko Baba stands roughly 2 meters (or 6 feet) tall, and can lunge out a similar distance from the point where it was planted.

This treasure represents an ample supply of these seeds, and as such the owner always has just enough for routine use of them. These seeds are enough for practical use, but they are not pure enough to be grown and cultivated by a Botanist. For pure, individual seeds suitable for cultivation, see Boko Baba Seed. A skilled Botanist can consume four pure seeds to produce an effective Supply.

Bomb Seed Supply - A Bomb Seed appears as a black, cherry-like seed. A hard impact against the seed will cause it to explode with a loud bang and a bright burning flash, similar to a firecracker.

    Major Treasures (open)

    None

    Height: 3 feet

    Weight: 9 pounds

Equipment: Plant does not wear or wield any items due to not understanding the concept or needing to.

Appearance: Plant looks rather average for a Peahat with a bulbous green/brown center that contains most of it and is the closest thing to a body that it has. The ‘body’ is about two feet in circumference and a little over two feet tall. Its texture is rigid and plantlike with various thorns and bits of root sprouting from it. From these roots Plant can plant itself to get needed nutrients from the soil as well as growing the mystical seeds it was modified to grow. Out from the top of the ‘body’ sprouts four bright orange-red leaves that serve as Plant’s main mode of transportation. The leaves measure about two feet in length and a little over nine inches in width and spin in a helicopter type fashion to provide its flight ability. Random stalks with various underdeveloped seeds and berries sprout out from the same area as the leaves and serve no real function besides just being there. While Plant does not contain nerves in any capacity its body, leaves, and stalks are sensitive to outside stimuli and give the ability to feel when things touch it.

Residence: Plant has no house because it does not understand the concept of a home yet.

Personality: Plant is a very simple creature. While it does have the ability for limited thought this ability about on par with a newborn child. Except Plant has not had sentience long enough to start understanding any major concept a normal plant would not know. As such it cannot really communicate effectively with anyone and not just from lack of any way of vocalizing. Plant does not know why, but it can sense things from other plants even smart ones like Deku Scrubs and Koroks.

A possible side effect of having thought ability on par with an infant is that Plant is as curious as an infant. It will fly about aimlessly just taking things in with the relatively new sentience trying to just figure things out. This curiosity (along with the fact fear is an unknown concept to it) causes Plant to seem absolutely fearless bumping into anything that catches the interest of the Peahat. Anything that moves is especially interesting to Plant causing it to follow any moving thing it can find like a shadow unless the moving thing can out speed the Peahat.

Backstory: Plant was sprouted very similarly to all other run of the mill Peahats doing nothing more that absorbing water and minerals, flying around to catch the most sun possible, and being messed with by various flying creatures sharing the skies. However its life changed when it was gathered up along with several other Peahats by a Hylian and taken away to a weird place with sky that was not really sky. There were other plants that weren’t Peahats in the area and water came from the sky without the darkness that usually brings water.

Over a few light times Peahats were taken away from the place leaving Plant alone to try fruitlessly to fly into the sky. Finally the Hylian took it into a dark place full of hot light and other weird things. The Hylian did many things to Plant and made it sprout with various different seeds which the Hylian harvested every few light times. The Hylian let Plant fly about in the place with the false sky relatively unhindered until the big hot light happened. Plant was able to get out of the place with the false sky and was once again able to fly about freely, but it still grew the weird seeds.

One particularly bright light time one of Plant’s leaves began to get very hot and it felt a new thing. It felt a sharp agonizing feeling. Plant’s entire being was in shock at this. It could feel and it felt pain. After shedding the hot leaf it made another discovery. Plant had a thought. Hot is bad. It did not know what to do. Plant would have gone on forever with these new sensations before something brushed against its leaves. It decided to follow the thing and its road to sentience had started.
