    Skills, Spells, and Traits
    Racials
    - Magic Proficiency: Kiran is not an offensive mage by nature, but was born with certain talents that he hasn’t had to hone. Rather than in offensive magic however, these lie in prophecy.
    - Rupee Riches: With his privileged position, Kiran has always had access to slightly more resources than others. This gives him a slight head start in certain fields.

    Prophecy
    - Gift of Prophecy and Prophet’s Bargain: Unlike many Hylians of his age, Kiran has frequent and unexpected visions of the possible future, which can strike either as dreams or in the middle of the day. Kiran’s blindness is possibly a side-effect of his ability to vaguely understand these visions.
    - Sense: While he will never be able to see, Kiran has developed the ability to sense hostility within fifteen feet of him. He doesn’t know how he does this, he just becomes instinctively unsettled in the presence of hostility.
    - Tune of Echoes: A different kind of seeing different times, Kiran can use a magical series of notes to put himself up to 24 hours in the past of his current location. He still can’t see, but he can investigate the area as he would the present.

    Roleplay Information
    Residence:
Kiran resides inside the village temple, wherein he is sheltered by a small group of priests. It is all he knows and he doesn’t venture far outside of his bedroom often. He knows the entire temple by heart, though, and can navigate it without walking into anything.
    Companions:
Lowen (Pet): A white angora rabbit that Kiran has owned for a few years now. He’s very docile and quiet in nature, and Kiran’s only ‘real friend’ who expects nothing more than cuddles out of him. He’s carried around in a basket.

    Personal Information
    Height: 5 foot 4.
    Appearance:
Quite short and skinny for his age, and with very pale skin and snow-white hair, Kiran is an unusual-looking individual. His eyes in particular are startling to those who don't know him, as while the irises have a normal, reddish brown colour, his pupils appear filled with a white mist, or covered in a sort of film. There is a good reason for this, as Kiran was born totally blind; he cannot perceive light, silhouettes, or anything at all. He lives his life in darkness, but refuses to wear a blindfold and doesn't bother to hide his blindness, either.

Within the temple, Kiran was always expected to wear his hooded, cream-coloured priestly robes, and he still owns them, but he prefers to not wear them any more as they make him even more easily recognisable than his skin and hair do. Instead, he wears very simple, light brown clothing to try and fit in with the civilians he wanders amongst. Kiran uses his heightened senses of everything but sight to avoid walking into people, but they don't really help him avoid inanimate obstacles in his way, and as such he can often be seen walking into or tripping over items he didn't know to be in his path.

Kiran normally gets his visions at night, but every so often one will strike him when he is awake. Kiran has described these cases as striking him like a blow to the forehead, which explains why he tends to fall over and lose consciousness until the end of the vision when it happens. Very rarely, he will clutch onto something he can reach and keep standing stiff for the duration of the vision instead.

    Personality:
Kiran was born and raised within the Order of Light, and as such was brought up with its ideals, having grown into a patient and modest young man. He has learned to accept his blindness as part of himself, and argues that he does not miss the light as he's never been able to perceive it. Instead, there are certain scents, sounds, and textures that he loves more than others, while any other person may not have been able to tell the difference. In addition, Kiran is very mild-tempered and sociable, if deadly naive. He hopes to find the good in every person, and refuses to believe that there is none in some people. This naivety is as much inherent to him as a consequence of his sheltered upbringing.

His upbringing has also caused him to be quite ignorant of what goes on in Hyrule; he knows nothing of Ganon and the ongoing war, nor of the monsters that roam Southern Hyrule and sometimes pour into Northern Hyrule. He has only recently learnt the value of money and sometimes laments the lack of charity among the people who demand it for their goods or services. However, Kiran is by no means dumb; he in fact possesses quite good deductive skills and is rather inventive. Additionally, he has great instincts and is able to tell when he is in danger by that alone.

Despite having broken his ties with the Order of Light and his sheltered past, Kiran retains his religiousness. He takes Nayru as his patron, but prays to all three Golden Goddesses regularly and piously.

    Story
    Backstory:
It is unknown who sired Kiran, and he doesn't even know the name or face of his biological mother. He was the result of an unwanted pregnancy, and in her despair his mother came to the Temple of Light in the small village of Backwater, delivering and leaving him there. The priests and priestesses of the temple, in their kindness and generosity, took him in and raised him as one of their own. He calls the local High Priestess his mother, and all others his uncles and aunts; it's something he started when he first learnt to talk and it stuck, since they never bothered to correct him. As Kiran grew, the priests became aware of the fact that he could not see, and began to coddle and shelter him to keep him safe.

He took to the teachings of the church well and started to grow into a model acolyte at a rather early age, learning to sense the flows of magic around him even if he couldn't use them himself. In fact, while he has tried many times in the past, Kiran cannot use or learn magic. He theorises that his handicap comes from being unable to visualise the results of a cast spell, which forms an enormous blockade that needs incredible strength of thought to overcome- a strength he knows he does not possess.

His talents started to become apparent when he was about ten years of age. Most notably, sometimes Kiran would wake up sweating and screaming for someone who could write, at which point he would dictate entire pages full of sensations, sounds, and smells, as well as phenomenons that he seemed to make up on the spot but made sense to him. It soon became clear that these dreams he documented were prophetic in nature, and as he grew and became more able to interpret them, they turned out to be accurate, too. Kiran immediately became treasured for his visions, subjected to an even more protective attitude from his family.

Later, and more slowly, Kiran also realised that he could vaguely sense the intentions of people near him on instinct. A little frightened by the reaction of the priests to his power of prophecy, he decided to not tell anyone about this, but is certain that at least a few priests discovered it from his responses to people.

One day, when Kiran was seventeen, he was busy helping out at a service when he felt the characteristic slap to the forehead that heralded a mid-day vision, and caused a scene inside the temple by falling to the ground and passing out on the spot. He doesn't know what happened inside that day, as he was never scolded for the event, but woke up trembling and shaking, and did not speak to the other priests for the remainder of the day. He instead spent hours in his room praying and interpreting his vision over and over again to be certain he had not been mistaken.

No one has ever heard what Kiran experienced while he lay unconscious on the temple floor, for he has never entrusted anyone with the contents of his vision. However, when he came out and started speaking to his mother again, he immediately requested to be let out of the temple and out of the village. Concerned for his safety, she met each of his requests with refusal, and instructed the priests to keep him inside at all costs. Kiran became more and more panicky as time went on, and shortly after turning eighteen and becoming a legal adult, he decided they could no longer keep him inside against his will.

Knowing that he wouldn't be allowed out if he asked, even now that he was an adult, he instead gathered his lightweight belongings and Lowen's basket, and fled the temple in the dead of the night less than a week after his eighteenth birthday.
