Pet: Rat, Piquee (unseen taker) Piquee is a large male rat with brown and black fur. Piquee is stealthy, quick, and fearless, all qualities valued by his kind. He is also dedicated to Feru since she saved his life. He follows her everywhere, obeys any requests where he will defy others, and if anyone threatens her he will not hesitate to fight. Feru often has to calm him and prevent him from doing anything rash. Piquee sometimes challenges himself to steal things without being detected, in fact it is his favorite pastime for which he was named. Feru usually returns the object to it's original owner since Piquee is just happy to best the giant-folk.

    Height: 3'10"
    Weight: 61 lbs.
Appearance: Feru appears as a young Hylian girl of approximately 11 years. However, her long, light green, wavy hair identifies her as a Kokiri to those familiar with the race. She is small, even for a Kokiri, with a very petite build and delicate, elfin features. Despite her weak appearance Feru has lived a hard life mostly alone in the forest. She has an impressive amount of stamina and reflexes, though not beyond the limits of her size. Her skin is lightly tanned and her eyes are dark green. She wears a plain green tunic but it is ragged and has been repeatedly patched and sewn back together. She has few possessions and lives mostly off the land, but a primitive knife is worn plainly on her belt. She also possesses a large Deku leaf that, when not being used as a weapon or glider, serves as a substitute cloak.

Personality: Feru is very calm, very pleasant, and says very little. In fact despite her friendly attitude there is an eeriness to how calm she is, even when facing horrific monsters, almost all of which are much larger and stronger than she. It is almost as if she does not fear death, and in fact she does not. And though she rarely ever speaks aloud a perceptive person may notice she is constantly 'speaking' through subtle body language and expressions.

Seemingly fearless Feru is uncomfortable around civilized folk and their cities but she hides any signs of anxiety as best she can. Feru is used to the company of animals who, even when she is not speaking directly to their minds, are generally very honest in their body language. The other races, by comparison, use many unnecessary, complicated words that frequently do not match what their body or face says. She finds most people confusing and untrustworthy at best in light of this. Though she is friend to animals wherever she goes, Feru is also lonely. This commonly drives her to go on errands to civilized places and try to get to know others.

Feru loves life and strives to preserve it when she can, but she also has a curious appreciation of death as well. Having outlived countless animal companions Feru noticed that death fed and renewed itself. She understands as well that sometimes killing another is how one form of life survives, be it to sustain themselves or survive an attack. Ultimately she has found peace in this natural cycle and has let go of much of the negativity she held onto as a young Kokiri. Feru avoids killing whenever she can but if there is no alternative she can do so with no hesitation and frightening efficiency.

Background: Feru has lived a very long time, all of it without a fairy companion and most of it alone save for the local wildlife. At first the other Kokiri did not much mind her, as sometimes a Kokiri simply did not have a fairy right away. Fairies did have free will after all. But as the years went by it seemed clear Feru, who went by Tari at the time, was never going to have a fairy. She began to notice a subtle and gradual shift in the other Kokiri's attitude towards her. So called friends stopped speaking with her or spending time with her. Those that had never fully accepted her became more openly disdainful of her. Sadly, the feeling of being isolated and unwanted drove her to leave the village. She was still young and depression plagued her for a long time as she wandered alone, having to learn how to survive via trial by fire. Then came bitter resentment and she even toyed with the idea of causing trouble for the village for how they had made her feel. But she discarded the idea reasoning that this was the Great Deku Tree's realm and His people. Though she had come to resent the others she still loved the Deku Tree; she could not bring herself to harm the guardian deity, even indirectly. It was perhaps the only sentient intelligent being left that still cared about her, after all.

So she lived in solitude, only the forest and its creatures for company. In time she learned to communicate more directly with the beasts of the forest, finding a deeper connection with them than any she had known in the village. Their village. They were completely apart now and Feru, thus named by the wolves, preferred it stay that way.

At one point she tried to integrate herself into Hylian society driven by lingering ill feelings and loneliness. She found humble work as a servant in the military district and then later at a semi-legal underground fight club. She learned quickly that she did not belong and longed for the forest and her true friends. However, during this time she also learned something she otherwise would not have: how to fight and, if need be, kill. Feru did not enjoy the violence itself whatsoever but she accepted it as a necessary evil. And at least now she would know what to do if it came down to kill or be killed, not just in the face of common predators but intelligent or cruel men, too.

In time Feru found she could not fully integrate into civilized culture and returned to her part of the forest, intending to live there for the rest of her days. Even so she often found herself making excuses to travel abroad from time to time, making up one errand or another. During Ganon's relatively recent activities Feru found plenty such excuses though not the kind she preferred.
