    Equipment:
Weapons: Sharon (Cannon), Cannonball Satchel (Dodongo Stomach Bag), Bomb Bag (Dodongo Stomach Bag), Resistance (Iron Boots)

Sharon: Steel Cannon – Length: 4' Diameter: 8” – Materials: Carbon Reinforced Steel, Iron Bindings, Flax Pull Cord – Dodongo Hide Lashings – Strap: Fine Chain Link Strap, Steel Bolt Securements

Sharon is a large steel cannon, that serves as Dogath's main weapon. His cannon is usually slung over his right shoulder, firing end pointing down, with the bulk of the cannon resting on his back. All of Dogath's weaponry was pilfered from an abandoned pirate ship, which he found deep within the sub-terrain. One of the cannons used within the ship itself, Dogath took this large weapon, and uses it both for its ranged capabilities, but on occasion as a club. In combination with his cannonball satchel, Bomb Bag, Iron Boots, and Power Bracelet, Dogath can be an imposing figure on the battlefield, essentially a walking cannon of doom. His Power Bracelet allows for him to hold his cannon, and combined with his great strength, he can wield it swiftly as well. His Iron Boots act as stabilizers, minimizing the recoil of the cannon, allowing for the rapid fire of Sharon.

The cannon is four feet in length, and has a diameter of eight inches. The only opening is on the firing end, into which Dogath loads his ammo. Controlled by a pull cord, Dogath merely has to pull on the flax cord, in order to fire off his cannonball or bomb. The cannon is not an ornate thing, having come from a pirate ship. However, it is well kept by Dogath, and as such, has a silvery appearance to it, being cleaned and shined after every use, for the most part. It has several ridges of metal pupping up at equal distances on the barrel of the cannon, and is lashed together by diagonal lengths of Dodongo Hide, creating an “x” pattern along the length of the weapon. Finally, two large bolts secure the chain-link strap on each of its ends, and are secured tightly to the cannon.

Cannonball Satchel/Bomb Bag: Materials: Dodongo Stomach Bags

Made of one of the only materials that could stand up Dogath's intense heat without burning, Dogath keeps his Cannonballs and Bombs in separate Dodongo Stomach bags. These bags are sewn into Dogath's robes near the sides of his waist; the bags act like pockets, and can be accessed from the outside of his robes. The bag-pockets also have drawstrings, that Dogath can draw, in order to keep his cannonballs and bombs securely within their respective pouches. In close quarter combat, Dogath will also use his cannonballs as bludgeoning weapons, holding one in each fist. The cannonballs are made of crude iron, and are sturdy and heavy. The cannonballs are located in his left pocket, his bombs on his right.

Resistance: Iron Boots – Materials: Lead & Iron Alloy Frame – Dodongo Hide Straps and Body, Iron Buckles

Resistance refers to Dogath's pair of Iron Boots, which can effectively count as a weapon as well. Having had nearly perfected the technique of summoning his Iron Boots in and out of existence, Dogath will normally call upon them when he is firing his cannon, if the need arises. Their weight helps minimize the recoil of the cannon, causing him to be pushed back very little with each firing. However, Dogath also uses these boots as a form of weapon in close quarters, combined with his cannonballs. Blinking them in and out of existence, Dogath is able to execute an agile kick with his legs, then summon his Iron Boots onto his feet, sending the heavy weight crashing into his opponents. Because of the weight of the boots, this sort of attack can be extremely effective, even against armored opponents.

    Clothing, Armor, and Appearance:

Being of Subrosian descent, his clothing and armor essentially form his outside appearance entirely. Like any other Subrosian, Dogath is deathly weak to even the warmest of surface temperatures, and as such, he must wear clothes that not only protect him from the surface's temperatures, but clothing that also insulates the natural heat that he produces. As such, his clothing is a mixture of thick, woven cloth, made specifically by and for Subrosians, with a thin layer of flexible metal in the cloth to insulate his body. His armor is made of thick Dodongo Hide, which further helps to trap the heat within his body, maintaining a safe body temperature.

His first layer of protection is composed of strips of regular cloth, that are wrapped tightly around his forearms, his calves, and around his stomach and lower chest. These lashings are cut from Subrosian cloth, which seems near impervious to their body heat, and also acts as a great insulator for the smoldering race of subterranians. These strips of cloth are white in color, as is the majority of Dogath's clothing, the color white helping to maintain heat, as opposed to black which allows heat to escape readily. The Subrosian cloth that Dogath wears is velvety in feel, is tightly knit, double layered, and is a heavy type of cloth.

On top of these straps of cloth, Dogath wears several other articles of clothing. For one, he wears a ragged tunic, that drapes over his upper body, its sleeves extending to just below his elbows. The tunic is a dirty white in color, showing its age, along with various holes in the fabric. Next, he wears pants that are belted around his waist. The pants are trimmed in gold colored cloth, while the body of it is a pristine white. The belt holding his pants up is a simple black belt, with a brass buckle. Next, he wears cloth booties around his feet, which are well padded and are white in color. The soles are composed of hard Dodongo leather, and protect his feet well. Around his hands are soft, black Dodongo leather gloves, leather taken from the soft underside of the Dodongo, and worked until it became suede-like in feel. They fit tightly around his hands, showing his knuckles. Bound around his wrists are large wheels of steel, each with a large, square ruby set into them. These are his Power Bracelets. Fitting snugly around his wrists, these circles of metal move very little, and are impossible for Dogath to take off. Finally, around his neck and face, Dogath wears a crimson red shawl, leaving only his large, ovular, white eyes peeking out from the hood of his cloak.

Strapped tightly to his upper body, with leather belts across his back, Dogath has a blue-black cuirass for the majority of his armor. Rough in texture, with natural bumps across it, this cuirass was made from the same Dodongo that the rest of Dogath's leather products were made of. Taken from the Dodongo's back, the armor is composed of the very hard upper hide of a Dodongo. Tanned using chromium sulfate, giving it its blue hue to the very dark black of the leather itself, Dogath's cuirass went through several hardening processes. Although the hide itself was already extremely hard, by placing it in a colder lava flow, Dogath's father formed the leather into the shape of a cuirass. Once this process was finished, taking roughly a day of soaking, and a half of a day to form it properly, Dogath's father ventured deeper into Subrosia, where hotter lava could be found. Running this lava over the surface of the leather, the natural polymers within the surface of the leather melted, and formed into compact, and complex structures, giving the armor structural strength. Once cooled, the polymers hardened into something akin to plastic, but far harder. In the final process, Dogath's father studded the cuirass with the finest of ores. Although his armor may be made of leather, the cuirass is extremely durable, able to match Hylian plate-armor in the protection it affords, but at a fraction of the weight. Going through this same process, Dogath has vambraces for each of his forearms, as well as shin splints, which are belted tightly around his limbs.

His last article of clothing is his cloak, which covers his entire body in velvety protection. Made of the aforementioned Subrosian cloth, and employing thin sheets of flexible metal as insulators, his cloak draped around his shoulders, concealing his body from sight. With a large hood over his head, combined with his red shawl, the only thing visible of Dogath's are his eyes, which peek out from the darkness of his cloak. Like the rest of his clothing, this cloak is white, and despite its color, it maintains its marble-like color due to being so tightly knit, so that it naturally resists stain and soil. However, there are several things about his cloak that marks Dogath as an individual. Firstly, rather than have a simple rounded hood, Dogath's hood is slightly pointed near the back of his head. The cloak itself is trimmed in black, with gold embroidered lettering within the black itself. The letters themselves are ancient runes, symbolizing a blessing of health and protection. Unlike most Subrosians living in Subrosia, Dogath's cloak has long, voluminous sleeves. As such, Dogath's arms are usually crossed over his chest, to keep cold air from entering through his sleeves. His cloak has two large pockets at the sides of his waist, which contain his cannonballs and his bombs. Last but not least, the front of his cloak, beginning from just below his pelvis, has a slit in the fabric that extends all the way to the end of the cloak. This slit reveals his feet and armored calves, but little else is shown.

Although his cloak hides it, and his height is not in concurrence with it, Dogath has an immense strength. Trained to be a warrior from a young age, Dogath's body is well-muscled, and is extremely heavy for one of his size and race. Standing at three inches off of five feet, Dogath is still fairly tall for a Subrosian, and could even pass as one of the smaller races, such as a Kokiri or even a small Hylian, at a distance. Because he is so well insulated, very little heat escapes from his cloak. Standing by him, within a foot's distance, one would only think that Dogath suffered from some feverish malady.

    Personality:

Dogath's personality is gruff at best. As a mercenary, Dogath has very little refinement in his language or actions. He has a particular distaste for surface dwellers; not because he truly dislikes them, or harbors any true thoughts of racism, but because he cannot understand their way of life. Having spent several years upon the surface, Dogath still cannot comprehend a “surfacer's” want to live in such frigid conditions, or value of things such as rupees. Being of Subrosia, Dogath is well-indoctrinated with the belief that hot environments are the only way to live, and that rupees are worthless, ores being the currency of Subrosia. Taking work on any side of the spectrum of life, Dogath finds the only use for rupees is his continued survival on the surface. Power is a different story entirely.

Dogath is a violent personality. He doesn't find pleasure in killing, are in the burning of villages and the slaughtering of women in children; his true lust is for battle. He imagines that battle is the only true test of someone's strength and worth, and that power is the only measure of a person's quality of life. This is the sole reason that Dogath finds himself on the battlefield time and again, embroiled deep within intrigue or warfare between political parties. He cares not for the reason for battle, or of the moral implications of the side on which he fights; all he cares about is the sound of clashing steel, the coursing of fire through his veins. Because of his skill in combat, which he has honed over the years, Dogath is never in need of work of this sort. Using his brute strength to wield Sharon, Dogath's baritone voice can often be heard, cackling through the battlefield like rolling thunder.

However, Dogaths' intelligence is belayed by his brutish nature. Almost a match for his great strength, Dogath's mind is focused on the battlefield as a tactian; not only in the large scale, but in the small as well. Using his knowledge of war and the arcane, Dogath is a fierce fighter, that combines magic with the strength of his fists. When fighting, little else concerns his mind, aside from the destruction of his opponent, be it systematically or through brute force. As an opponent, Dogath will talk very little, finding that true intentions are revealed when blades are met.

Although Dogath may be a mercenary, his allegiance only to himself, this does not mean that Dogath does not have his own, personal moral code. Honor is a surfacer concept that Dogath has actually taken a liking to, though he has perverted it in his own way. Dogath will not prey upon the weak, nor will he kill those he does not find worthy of dying, unless they make some attempt to kill him. Dogath will protect the weak in some cases as well, as he believes that those with strength should not waste their blade on them. He also shares strong camaraderie with those he sees as fellow warriors, and will follow every command of anyone he finds stronger than himself.

    Backstory:

Born in a small village, deep within Subrosia, Dogath was born of the Helkite family, the eldest son of two. Large for his size as a child, Dogath quickly displayed his strength as a child. As such, he quickly began training as a warrior at the age of five. Living within the barracks, Dogath was only permitted to see his family ever few days; however, he quickly became used to routine. Beginning with morning calisthenics, his training as a child began with his education as a Subrosian; he was taught the Subrosian language, as well as a tactical language not spoken, but signed with one's hands. Trained in physical fitness, as well as mental sharpness, Dogath was one of the few Subrosian children, of his age group, that was sent on to continue being trained as a soldier at the age of ten.

It was then that Dogath was almost entirely cut off from his family, afforded a visit to them roughly once a month. Still living in the barracks, Dogath's lessons quickly became oriented towards battle and war, as a means of survival, not only against nature's beasts, but other villages in Subrosia. Learning of battle tactics, and putting them into practice, became a daily experience for Dogath. He proved himself in the training grounds as a capable warrior, defeating those even in older age groups, using wit and strength to conquer larger, more experienced foes. Time passed quickly, then, eased along by sweat and blood.

It was then, at the age of twenty, as Ganon's Invasion raged on in the siege of Death Mountain on the surface, that Dogath was presented with a choice, as all others are, at his age of coming. His task was thus; to venture out into the subterrain and hunt down a Dodongo, as his rites of passage. He would be allowed two weeks in the wild, but would be given no provisions, no equipment, allowed only the clothes on his back. Utterly consumed by war, even at such a young age, Dogath could only reply with a yes. This was his chance to prove himself as a warrior, and to bring honor to his family.

Venturing out into the molten world of Subrosia, Dogath searched for his quarry for days. He spent those days trying to ready himself for his task ahead, both mentally and physically. The journey would be arduous in itself, even without his task. He lived off Fire Keese, slew them using large rocks balled in his fists. Always excelling within martial combat, he did not mind his cruel, unrefined method. Crossing rives and lakes of lava, and long stretches of hardened, glowing rock, Dogath made his way closer to the surface, where he would find his quarry.

Stumbling upon a heard of Dodongos, Dogath stalked his prey, circled around the group, hiding between boulders. His eyes were instantly drawn to the largest of the group, the dominant male. It was no King Dodongo, but to bring the head of such a large beast back, that was easily three times his size in itself, would be to carve his name forever into the history of his village. As he trembled with excitement behind a boulder, Dogath couldn't help but look at his hands, and back to the beast. How small they seemed, now that he was presented with a true enemy. The rocks that he'd been using would do nothing against the Dodongo.

How am I to kill such a proud beast? he asked himself as he stood there. He could not defeat it as he was now, a mere child against a monster wise and strong in its age. He had to find something, anything, that would give him the strength to triumph. Stalking away quietly, Dogath wandered aimlessly for hours. Just as he was about to give up, an answer came from the heavens, bringing renewed strength to his exhausted body.

It was a sign from the Fire Goddess herself, as if Din was granting him this boon, and was watching over him. Peering over a cliff, he saw a ruined ship, laying on its side in a ravine. Climbing down from his perch, gingerly placing his hands and feet upon the cliff, he slowly made his way towards the ship, which was lodged deep within the gorge. Setting his feet upon its hull, which was made of a strange brown substance, he walked towards an opening in the ship's side. He squeezed through the hull, landed on a wall of the ship. Stepping gingerly on the walls, he made sure that the ship would not splinter where he stepped, as it had in other places. Making his way towards the front of the ship, he climbed through an open door, into a small room.

There, emblazoned by a beam of lava-light, was a ruined corpse, draped across great splinters of the ship's hull. He must have fallen on them, as ship fell into the gorge... Dogath thought to himself, walking up to the body. It was a small subrosian, adorned heavily in shining ores and fine metals. Draped in black, the figure wore a large hat, with a skull and crossbones on it. “Pirate...” Dogath breathed out, having heard of them from village myth. It was said that these Subrosian pirates rode in enchanted ships, made of magical wood impervious to heat, that took them to the surface. It was there, that the pirates sailed across the sands. Taking a book from the dead man's hand, Dogath delved into the deceased's adventures, reading of daring raids and swashbuckling escapades.

Hours later, Dogath closed the book, its words forever engrained into his mind. This was the life he had always wanted, a life of continual battle, where one began where another ended. It was then that Dogath knew that he had to travel to the surface, if he was to ever fulfill this dream. Taking the pirate's bracelets, and strapping them around his wrists, Dogath felt strength that he had never felt before. He knew that these were Power Bracelet's from the pirate's book, knew that they would give him greater strength. Placing the pirate's boots on as well, known as Iron Boots, Dogath attempted to move, was halted in place by their weight. He could hear the wood crackling and creaking beneath him, knew that he didn't have much time. Concentrating, feeling energy swell up inside of him, the boots disappeared, just as the book said they had. Remembering that feeling, so that he could call the boots back to him, Dogath made his way towards the side of the ship.

Grabbing a Bomg Bag, and a satchel of cannonballs, he tied them tightly around his waist. Looking finally to a cannon, Dogath readied himself mentally, for the test of his strength. Inching towards the cannon, as if he were shy, he touched it with his hands. His fear was dispelled; he grabbed the cannon in one hand, hoisted it up and under his right arm. His hardest task, now, was to make it back up the cliff. Climbing out the opening he had come in, he gingerly made his way to the cliff from the ship's hull, and slowly began to climb up the cliff, using one hand and his two feet, the other hand holding onto the cannon. His greater ability to lift things applied to his own body as well, it seemed, his journey up the cliff far quicker than he expected. Reaching the top of the gorge, Dogath took his newfound weapons, began to head towards the group of Dodongo once again.

Watching the herd, waiting for the hours to pass, his eyes snapped open as he heard the Dodongos begin to shift their momentous weight. The herd began to leave, the only Dodongo not moving the leader of the pack. It seemed it was not finished with its meal of rough ore, which littered the ground. Now's my chance! Dogath thought to himself, realizing that it was now his time to attack. Loading a cannonball into his cannon, he summoned his Iron Boots onto his feet, firmly planting them on the ground. Pulling hard onto the cord of the cannon, the iron ball split the air, hit the side of the Dodongo, sending it staggering to the side. Yet the ball did not penetrate its thick hide, though it had most likely broken a bone or two.

The Dodongo let out an ear piercing roar, but the rest of its herd was long gone. Shaking in rage, the massive beast began to charge towards Dogath, its massive mouth open and ready to devour the Subrosian. However, Dogath did not cower in the face of the beast. Instead, he unsummoned his Iron Boots and climbed on top of a boulder as quickly as possible. Hoisting himself to the top, He jumped down from his perch towards the Dodongo's opened mouth. Raising the cannon over his head, he grasped it with both hands on its open end, swung it down like a club, the cannon hit the top of the Dodongo's skull with a crack, sending its head careening into the ground. Landing atop its back, Dogath began to run down its spine, jumping off its tail and landing behind it.

Getting up in a daze, the Dodongo turned around, shaking its head from the blow. Swinging its tail as it turned, it attempted to squash the insolent Subrosian that dared to defy it. Dogath held his cannon, blocked the tail, but was still swept to the side, into a boulder. Letting out a ground, he fell to the ground, steaming blood escaping from his lips. Kneeling, he looked up at the angry eyes of the Dodongo, smiled. He would be triumphant on this day. Letting out a cry, just as fierce as the Dodongo's as it let out its own, he grasped a bomb from his bomb bag, threw it into the approaching jaws of the Dodongo. Leaping to the side, the Dodongo's face crashed into the boulder, closing its jaws and sealing its face. The bomb exploded in its throat, ending the Dodongo's life instantly.

Picking himself up off of the ground, Dogath walked over to the Dodongo corpse, sat down and leaned against it. Breathing heavily, he stayed their and rested for hours, thinking of his battle, and remembering the pirate in his delirium. Waking up the next day, Dogath was glad to see that the Dodongo's had not returned to their feeding area quite yet. Grabbing his belongings, he made his way towards the tail of the Dodongo, grabbed it and began to drag it, slowly, towards his village. It took him a full week to reach his village; however, he was greeted with a celebration befitting of a true warrior. His father, a skilled leather worker, took the Dodongo's hide and fashioned it into armor and clothing for Dogath, his gift to his son. Dogath told no one of the pirate's book he had read, only of the items that he had brought with them.

Forever enchanted by the book, Dogath stole away from his village that night, when the villagers were asleep. Telling only his parents, and bidding them farewell, Dogath began his journey towards the surface. After a month of travel, he finally emerged near Death Mountain, in Northern Hyrule. This was just about when the siege of Death Mountain ended, with Ganon's arrival. Travelling north into the world, it has been ten years since he first left Subrosia...
