However, he does carry a rather exotic weapon: a deadly chain whip. This whip was given to him by his father before he was sent off to flee Kakariko Village along with thousands of other refugees. This whip, called Strandräuber, meaning wrecker, is a deadly ten foot length of steel chain with a long, wooden handle, and a small yet deadly spiked, iron ball at the end. The handle is crafted rather decoratively, wrapped in strips of leather fastened on by artistic pieces of silver. In addition, Wilhelm has four small, steel throwing knives. His armor consists of two simple, steel pauldrons for shoulder protection, as well as a small, upper torso breastplate (similar to Roy as seen in Super Smash Bros. Melee, I suppose). Appearance: A proud, young Hylian, Wilhelm is of a solid, muscular build. He has shoulder-length, dark-brown hair and sharp, green eyes to go along with a full, stern face. Wilhelm also has a short, rough beard. For clothing, he wears a blue tunic with dark, brown leggings and leather boots, in addition to dark, leather gloves. At all times, he carries with him a satchel for holding rations and other small items, and two flasks for water or other drinks. Personality: Wilhelm is a proud, young Hylian intent on restoring Southern Hyrule to peace and prosperity, as well as redeem his own honor, as he feels a coward for running off from Kakariko Village during the war. As a result, he is an eager young adventurer who is always ready to join the fight, whether he can handle it or not. Despite his headstrong personality, he is a righteous man, and will go to great lengths to work for the common good. Residence: Western Caves Pet: N/A Backstory: Born to a wealthy, middle class family in Kakariko Village, Wilhelm led a normal life until Ganon's invasion of Southern Hyrule took everyone by surprise. His father was a captain in the local guard force, so he saw his father work tirelessly to contribute to the defense of the town. Indeed, the defenses held for some time, but when Ganon's Iron Knuckles began to muster for a final assault, Wilhelm and his mother were sent away with the last of the refugees that could escape. Wilhelm said his goodbyes and joined the long columns of refugees leaving the doomed township. Along with many of the other escapees, Wilhelm and his mother found themselves hiding away in the Western Caves of Southern Hyrule. Eager to do his part, the young Wilhelm threw himself into the labor force, working to make a suitable home in the caves for hundreds, even thousands of refugees. For fifteen years, he has lived in dishonor, feeling the bowels of his soul that he should have stayed behind to fight alongside his father. He was doomed to live with this anguish, watching his people toil in the inhospitable world of the caves in constant fear of an attack by Ganon's minions. By now, he has decided that enough is enough. He has become dedicated to a personal quest of redemption, in which he will strive to find a way to cleanse Southern Hyrule and allow his kinsmen to live a better life, free of such terror. Where he must go to accomplish this task, however, he is not sure. So, he has decided that the best course of action would be to consult the closest friendly power he can: the Great Deku Tree. Bidding his poor mother farewell, Wilhelm sets out from the caves, braving the wilds of Ganon's wasteland, making for the sanctuaries of the Kokiri Forest. Some days of cautious trekking take him, finally, to the edge of the woods, and to the start of a new adventure...
