Up close, his appearance is similar to that of a tiny, winged Hylian. Luscious, flowing brown hair cascades down to his shoulders, framing his chiseled, picturesque face. High cheekbones sit below his sparkling brown eyes, while a well-shaped nose, sly grin, and shaggy goatee round out his facial features. His only means of clothing is a silky, white toga, draped carefully over his well-toned body. Personality: In stark contrast to his alluring demeanor, Umber is a conniving, malicious soul. Tainted by his partner’s dark heart, Umber’s unfortunate decent was more akin to a spiral into madness. His speech is little more than mad rambling, yet beneath this broken exterior lies the mind of a true sociopath. Two-faced and vain, Umber cares little for those closest to him, manipulating, deceiving, and dismantling them until they are wholly dependent upon the Fairy. Umber’s greatest desire is power. Believing himself to deserve the rank of Great Fairy, his every thought and action revolves around claiming such a power for himself. Whether it is actually possible or not is irrelevant to one as narcissistic as Umber. No matter the price, he is willing to pay. Background: Unlike most Fairies, Umber was born special for Noelle, created specifically by The Deku Tree to protect her ragged soul. How naïve Umber had been then, believing himself to be blessed, trusted for such an honourable duty by The Deku Tree. Oh how he cringed at his former self! Umber’s first meeting with Noelle still burned bright in his mind, decades after the fact. He could remember the excitement that had filled his heart as he rushed to meet his Kokiri charge. He could also remember the sudden fear that had griped him the moment he laid eyes on her, and the horrific pain he felt the moment she touched him. And then, darkness. Darkness spreading out as far as he could see, swallowing every inch of him, suffocating him. Then, from that darkness came a realization, an understanding. He was meant for far greater. Time passed in a blur. Noelle and Umber had lived in solitude, eking out a life on the outskirts of the Kokiri Forest. All the while, Umber had molded the girl, whittling away her mind, piece by piece. The task was arduous, even for one such as him. Yet he could not give up. It had been Noelle that had freed Umber from his shackles all those years ago, and for that, he thank her. Perhaps it was why he followed her all this time, and even now, as she ventured forth from the Forest, that he followed her still. Alone, in this form, he was weak, vulnerable. She could do things he could not, as much as it pained him to admit it. But Umber could guide her, make her listen. All he had to do was show her he was right. Break her. Umber needed Noelle, she alone could help him ascend. The Fairy smiled to himself at this. There was one fundamental difference in their relationship, an upper hand he dared not squander. She needed him more.
Creepy as hell for a forest pixie. New characters aren't supposed to be aged over 100... so as long as you change that instance of 'centuries' in her backstory to 'decades,' Umber's dark ambitions will have their chance to fester. A p p r o v e d.
