    Forest Arena (open)
The time of day is early morning, somewhat breezy, cool, and the grass still damp with last night's dew. There is a slight fog filling the air in a tightly-packed woodland composed almost entirely of deciduous trees, spanning what seems like countless miles. The trees sharing an average height of about twelve feet, and block out most of dawn's sunlight fairly well. There is little underlying fauna save unshaven grass approximately a foot high, and the occasional Deku Baba.

...as the white light faded, Claude found himself standing in a forest. The early morning breeze blew through his hair and the few rays of sunlight warmed his skin. He could see the boy in the distance, looking in his direction. Ducking behind a tree, he gritted his teeth and pulled the rapier from under his coat.

Forest...this kid was probably one of those Kokiri. Homefield advantage for him, and the element of surprise was lost. His only hope was to try to sneak up on the brat, and skewer him. He could sense something nearby, something hidden under the ground. He decided to head for it, trying to keep out of sight and in the shadow of the trees.

His head still a little sore from the collision with that rock, he headed right from where he had seen the Kokiri.

Re: TOURNEY: Eevachu/Rika vs. The Janitor/Christopher

In a flash, Rika's surroundings changed. While he was in the desert-like arena before, now he was in a vast forest. The entire area had drastically changed in a flash, and only two things remained that were familiar from the previous area; Rika and Chris. Rika saw the slightly damp grass below him, as he was stepping on a small patch. He felt a small breeze wrap over him, as small patches of sunlight broke through the trees. It was a little foggy, but for the most part it didn't really hamper vision. It was funny, it was actually fairly nice and calming. You wouldn't exactly expect a battle to be happening here, not including the fact it was probably an arena magically created by the Arena Lord, rather then an actual place.

Of course, Rika was used to traversing forests and would probably have a much easier time spotting Chris then he would Rika. Rika spotted Chris, seeing him quickly dart behind a tree. Rika grabbed his scythe, holding it in one hand. He spun the scythe two times, before spinning it in half a circle. The scythe's blade was now on the bottom, and the sharp point at the other end of the pole was on top. Although Rika could quickly sweep the blade upward if needed, he'd mostly focus on jabbing. Gripping lower down on the pole with his left hand, he kept his right hand out in case he needed to cast a spell. Of course, it was close to the pole, if needed to guard or if he needed to wield it with both hands.

Rika quickly darted in the opposite direction he was facing- Having previously faced Chris' direction-, running deeper into the forest. He ran about seven meters into the forest, where he was hidden- At least, he assumed so- from Chris in the trees. Ducking behind a tree, he kept himself ready, watching in the general direction Chris was at. Would he see him? Who knows, but Rika was prepared for the possibility.

Claude continued onwards, trying to catch a glimpse of Rika through the mass of trees. He seemed to be headed somewhat downhill, the ground ever so slightly sloping. It wasn't much, but looking in the distance he could see it got a fair bit lower than where he was now. Picking up his pace, he held close to his side. The mist of the Arena made it a little difficult to see, but it didn't affect him much.

He couldn't see the Kokiri anywhere and was starting to worry he had gone in the wrong direction. Remembering the thing he had sensed underground were he had started he decided to search out whatever it was and find out what it was. Hopefully it would be helpful somehow.

(I assume the thing in the ground is a Deku Baba, but if you had something else in mind or planned for it, just tell me and I'll edit my post, or just ignore the Baba)

Rika kept his back to the tree, waiting for Chris. He waited for a short time, but nothing seemed to come up. Would this entire fight be a game of search and destroy? Of course, Rika had a bit of an advantage there, but not completely. That could also turn into a somewhat boring fight to do or spectate, and their controlling deities- whatever those were- could also get bored and therefore make them do something crazy. Nonetheless, Rika kept his guard up, ready to either spot Chris or for a surprise attack.

Then, Rika heard the ground shake somewhat. It wasn't like the entire ground was shaking, more like something was surfacing. A vine pulled out of the ground, with a round object at the end. It appeared similar to two blue shell-like objects attached over each other, forming a nut. The blue nut-like object opened up, revealing a mouth of sorts. It had a reddish yellow tongue like attachment sticking out, and a pair of sharp teeth around the edge of both the top and bottom. It was a Deku Baba.

Rika quickly hid behind the tree, and luckily it hadn't noticed him. Getting caught by it would be troublesome, even if it wouldn't be very difficult to beat. It could leave him open to being attacked by Chris while he was grabbed, if Chris was even around.

Claude was getting fed up. Where was that kid? The forest seemed to go on forever, but he could sense...something just to his left. It seemed about the right height, but he didn't want to just charge around the trees. There were a lot of them, hopefully shielding him from view.

Trying to curb back his bloodlust, he tried as silently as he could to sit down. He had to think. He wasn't just some idiot killer...he had to think this through. What was with that kid anyway? He'd had all those weapons on him, so he'd assumed he was a melee fighter. But he'd also hit him with a wind blast, which was most definately a spell.

The slight mist rolled down the slight incline, cooling his face. Suddenly his eyes shot open. If he could time this just right...he might have a chance. Looking upwards, he could see some slightly thicker mist drifting his way. Holding out his rapier, he got ready. He had to see what was going on over there, but he couldn't risk being seen.

Just as the mist covered him, he looked around the tree trunk. He saw a flash of red before ducking back, panting. The brat was there. Running as silently as possible, he charged towards the Kokiri boy. The mist covered him for a bit, but he knew it wouldn't last. As the mist cleared somewhat, he stabbed at the boy's arm. He hit something, but suddenly his leg was clamped between a set of jaws. The Deku Baba, unnoticed by him, had managed to catch him. As the monsterous plant chewed on his leg, he turned towards the Kokiri. He tried to hold his rapier in defense of the attack he knew would come, but it was difficult to focus as the Deku Baba thrashed him around.

Rika leaned against the tree, trying to hide his red. It was somewhat of a disadvantage of his, to be surrounded by green and brown but covered in red. It made him stand out, making it easy to spot him even for those who weren't used to being in forests. Of course, Chris had an ability given to some Hylians that Rika didn't know about; It was Sense. It was the ability to detect hostile forces in the immediate area, which would be very helpful for Chris, who probably wasn't used to forests. Rika had no such ability, so in a way, they were evened out.

Rika could hear the Deku Baba bite at the air and look around, as if looking for something to eat. It'd probably snap at the first thing it saw, no matter what it was. As Rika looked for Chris, he saw a somewhat thick blanket of mist wrapping around. Rika couldn't really see through it, so he kept his guard up. As the mist started to disperse, Chris jumped out of it, jabbing his rapier at Rika. It stabbed Rika in his right arm, the pain sweeping through Rika's body. However, there were two good things. It happened to have been his right arm, and his scythe was being held in his left arm. Along with that, Chris was being grabbed by the Deku Baba, mostly immobilizing him.

Rika gripped his scythe tightly. Chris had jabbed at Rika, but in doing so, essentially left himself open for an attack. He was close, a little more up and it probably would've killed Rika. Of course, Rika's shoulder was an easier target to hit than his head, as his head was somewhat hidden behind the tree. Nonetheless, Rika took the opportunity. His hand- and the scythe- lunged forward. The pointed end of the scythe jabbed forward at Chris, the blade lingering behind in the back.

Rika didn't have an intended target to hit on Chris, mostly just to impale him with the scythe. Upon doing so, Chris would more then likely be down for the count, even if the hit didn't kill him.

Claude tried desperately to release himself from the plant, but its jaws were like an iron trap and he could pull his leg out. Suddenly, a sharp and searing pain filled him as Rika's weapon stabbed into his chest. His breathing became more difficult, and blood began to leak out of the wound.

For whatever reason, the Deku plant released him, at least momentarily. His lung was punctured, and his vision was begining to fade. He had moments left, but he had to...had to do something. He couldn't let this Kokiri brat kill him...

Suddenly, the Deku Baba resumed the attack, this time aiming for what was closer: Claude's head. Claude had just enough time to smirk at the Kokiri before the iron jaws smashed his neck.

As Rika impaled Chris' chest, it seemed to hit it's mark. Chris kind of staggered back- At least, in Rika's point of view-, before falling to the ground. The Deku Baba had strangely let go of his leg, but who knows. He saw Chris give an amazingly arrogant smirk at Rika, before the Deku Baba bit off his head. Snap. As the head was bit off, blood spurted out of Chris' neck, somewhat coating the Deku Baba in blood. Not that it minded, though, as it had Chris' head. Following the somewhat gory display, Rika clenched his arm slightly. Chris hadn't stabbed very deeply, as it was somewhat of a blind shot. However, it still hurt, and if the battle wasn't over it would be somewhat difficult to use his right arm. It would've put him at a disadvantage, although he'd most likely only use that arm for spell casting anyway.

"This didn't last very long. . ." Rika said, sighing. It was quite a short fight; Not that Rika was really complaining. He looked at Chris' dead body for a few moments, before walking over. Rika slowly and carefully slid his scythe out of Chris' chest, careful not to let any blood spurt on him. After Rika pulled it out, he looked around at the forest. ". . . Now how do I get out of here?"

He contemplated how to leave for a second, before he noticed his body start glowing. He wasn't really that shocked, and kind of assumed something like that would happen. His glowing body attracted the attention of the Deku Baba, as it looked up in curiosity, while chewing on the head of Chris. Rika was glowing for a second or two, before he vanished, along with his inventory. The Deku Baba simply went back to gnawing on Chris' head.

(This fight is now complete, and grading may commence)
