Kalvar had no idea what he was doing here. As if the fact the island was inhabited by monsters wasn't enough, it was covered in things that appeared to be wind geysers. To make matters even worse than that, the island was also super windy. The wind was strong enough to push him backwards at times, and rarely ever paused. The monsters seemed used to the strangely strong winds, but they still scrambled for cover on every large gust. They were apparently just as vulnerable to the breeze as he was, which was something to keep in mind.

He had arrived earlier this morning thanks to a local fisherman. The man's name was Phil, or Bill, or something along those lines. He didn't dare step foot on the island, but he was delighted to give him a lift. Kalvar had heard all about the dangers of the island before hand, but that didn't stop the man from warning him, repeatedly. The man was rather annoying, constantly talking about anything at all that even remotely related to the island. However, Kalvar held his tongue. The man was kind enough to give him a free ride, the least Kalvar could do was listen to his ranting.

Twas not even too long ago when a fortune teller had told him to come to his island. The lady had said "Two weeks from today, adventure and fortune await on the Island of Gust." He had no idea what to expect, but the other villagers said she was trustworthy, so hopefully something would happen soon. Besides the stupid wind, anyways.

Up on ridge, one of the monsters saw him. It was a miniblin, and it waved it's weapon at him menacingly. Without hesitation, Kalvar quickly retrieved an arrow from his quiver, and fired it straight towards the miniblin. The wind picked up, but the arrow did not stray from it's path. It struck true, directly into the chest of the monster standing above him. The miniblin clutched it's chest before it fell over the edge of the cliff down to where he was standing. Carefully, he removed his arrow from the corpse, and replaced it in his quiver.

"In a week hence, adventure and fortune await on the Island of Gust." How vague is that? Initially, Guy's only conclusion was that it was an obvious trap. He was a wanted man, after all, assuming they never bothered to drop the charges. Not to mention, a real clairvoyant wouldn't bother wasting their time with random sea travelers.

Such were the thoughts that rang through Guy's mind as he left the fortune-teller's hut. Such were the thoughts that lingered in his mind as he sailed across the sea. He continued to tell himself this as he tracked down the tiny, uninhabited isle by the name of Gust. Now that he was walking across the sands, he was still trying to tell himself to go back, using the same perfectly logical arguments he had made a week ago. Finally, he let out a groan, and pressed his hand to his wooden forehead. "This is it. This is how they get me--not with a scream or a fight, but just with the faintest whisper of treasure."

If he did die here, then at least it was under pleasant scenery. The sun was high but not too bright, and an omnipresent wind fly across the isle. He supposed that's how the isle got its name. As if that wasn't enough, there were countless contraptions that seemed to blow wind... often in short bursts, repeatedly. "Strange," he mumbled, examining them from a distance. It wasn't the first time he'd seen strange and seemingly ancient machinery, but... maybe there was something peculiar about this place after all.

He proceeded to wander aimlessly away from his boat, wasting ten to twenty minutes investigating the scenery. All the while, he steeled himself for an ambush. If this was in fact a trap, he began to believe it must've been a very poor one.

Then, abruptly, a desperate cry rang out from somewhere in the distance--before he heard a definite thick of something hitting the sand. to Guy's right was a twenty-foot wall of rock. If his ears were right, that desperate death cry came from atop it. This wasn't something he could simply ignore. Stealthily, he began to creep up the side of the wall... walking upon its surface like always, of course. Maybe, just maybe, he thought he could turn this trap around...

Height would definitely give Kalvar an advantage on this island. However, the hard part would be getting up to the top of the cliff. Kalvar figured he could attempt to climb up the rock wall, but if a large gust of wind came by, he would surely lose his grip and fall. There was no way he would take that chance. Climbing the wall without some form of assistance was a death sentence. He figured he would find some other way up, most likely the same where the miniblin got up there. Unless it did just scale the rock wall, in which case, Kalvar would have a problem.

Walking around to the left of the cliff, there appeared to be away around to the side of the cliff. However, he would have to jump over a rather wide channel of water. Normally, it wouldn't be too big of a problem. However, the wind was sure to make the jump difficult. He had no idea how deep the water was, nor did he want to risk finding out. The waves were rather choppy due to the heavy winds, and looked rather deadly. While Kalvar did enjoy swimming, now seemed an inopportune time to do so.

Turning back around, Kalvar walked over to the other side of the cliff and found an a much smaller cliff in front of him. This cliff was only about his height, and he could easily hoist himself to the top of it. However, once Kalvar reached the top of this smaller cliff, he found a set of stairs leading up to the top of the first cliff. Who would build stairs to the top of a cliff in the middle of nowhere? Probably the same people who built those seemingly pointless windmill things. Whatever the case, Kalvar ascended the stairs, and started to observe his surroundings.

As Guy peered up over the edge, what he saw didn't meet his expectations. It was a young Hylian lad, roughly a third of Guy's own age. He seemed to be lightly armored and barefoot--odd, for a Hylian. Near him lay a motionless miniblin, an arrow sticking out of its chest. The corpse was so fresh it almost seemed like it was still breathing. Apparently this lad had shot it, and it fell to the ground. That seemed to explain the sounds Guy heard a moment ago, anyway.

He seemed like the young, adventuring type--not really an assassin. The young adventuring type was probably the sort who would eagerly follow the bounty on a "mere" Deku Scrub's head, though. Guy sighed. He watched the man puzzling over the cliffs and stairs, before looking around. It was surprising the fellow hadn't even noticed he was being watched yet. Then, of course, the man abruptly made eye contact with Guy. Guy realized he was still standing on a wall, squatting so he could look over its edge... This probably looked weird.

Caught off guard, Guy's words were haphazardly thrown together: "Hey... What's up?" He wanted to facepalm, but restrained himself. How the lad reacted would determine if one of them was about to die--and at least one of them certainly hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Hopefully this lad came in peace. If not, Guy already had a razored edge with his name on it.

Kalvar was quite surprised to see a deku atop the cliff. He had expected to see nothing but monsters upon this island, but he had not expected to see anything at least remotely friendly. The deku was taller than most Kalvar had seen before, and it had a really long faded scarf wrapped around him. It was obviously to big for him, which confused Kalvar as to why he was wearing it. Surely it got in his way quite often.

He was shocked when it spoke to him. It didn't seem threatening at all, though it sure looked like it could be. It had several noticeable scars, and a sheathed weapon on his back. Perhaps he was an adventurer? Kalvar knew he had slowly received that title, but he rarely ran into another. Especially not on hostile islands in the middle of the ocean. Perhaps he should respond instead of standing there looking at the deku's weapon, that might cause him to be a little nervous.

Gently clearing his throat, he started to speak. "Umm.." He started to stutter. Great first impression,he thought to himself. "My name is Kalvar Darhun. And I'm still not entirely sure what I'm doing here, there was some incident with a strange fortune teller and, yeah." He was sure he looked as awkward as he felt. Not wearing shoes tended to attract quite a lot of attention when he wasn't sneaking around.

This Kalvar kid either wasn't an assassin, or the best assassin he's ever seen. Guy's stance relaxed somewhat, as he pulled himself over the ledge, and onto the same ground where the lad stood. There was still something mildly suspicious here, but the Deku tried not to show it. "I'm Guy." His eyes trailed over the Hylian kid once more. "Let me guess... she told you about 'adventure and fortune' on the 'Isle of Gust'?"

With a sigh, his shoulders slumped. "That's what I get for believing fairy tales, I guess." He began to walk in a direction perpendicular to Kalvar--making sure to keep an eye on him in his peripheral vision. Casually, he added, "I'm headed towards that structure. If that's a dead-end, then I can only assume the old bag's prophecy was a cheap hoax." It did seem odd that she would send two--or more--individuals to the same place on the same day. It seemed like a gross oversight on her part.

Guy glanced over his shoulder at Kalvar, appraising him. He was able to shoot down a Miniblin seemingly in one shot, which at least meant he was decently useful in a fight. "...I probably wouldn't mind if you wanted to check it out, too." Hopefully there wouldn't be any real loot Guy would be forced to split with this kid...

So the fortune teller told the deku the same thing she told him? Kalvar was a little apprehensive about the whole thing. This was either a really elaborate trap, or the fortune teller really was telling the future. Not willing to jump to any conclusions, Kalvar would be careful. He didn't want to fall prey to any bandits, or rather, pirates. He had already had a run in with pirates since he started exploring the seas. and was not looking forward the next time.

Guy motioned to a structure in the distance, and said he was heading towards it. Thanks to his hawkeye, Kalvar was easily able to see what it was. It appeared to be an entrance of some sort. Perhaps there was a temple or even a dungeon on this island. There would only be one way to find out, and that would be to go inside. Perhaps they could take shelter from the wind inside.

Suddenly, the deku said he wouldn't mind if he wanted to check it out as well. As if there was anything else to do on this island! Surely the temple, or whatever it was, could shed some light on the subject. Kalvar mentally zoomed out his hawkeye and looked over at the deku. "Sure, I'll come. Not much else to do I suppose."

Judging from the reaction on the lad's face, Guy assumed the guess about that fortune-teller was correct. Maybe the kid was just too embarrassed to admit it, he couldn't be sure. In any case, this Kalvar fellow was beginning to seem more naive than menacing--which was a good thing as far as Guy was concerned. If he got himself killed on the way there, that just meant there would be another body to loot, after all. Guy prevented himself from smirking at his own wry humor.

As Kalvar accepted the offer, Guy gave a bit of a shrug. He moved in the general direction of the building--hopefully a temple or dungeon of some kind. "...Where did you get that Hawkeye, anyway?" He had to raise his voice slightly above normal to talk over the constant whirling gusts of the isle. "I feel as though I'm the only man who doesn't have one, lately."

As they walked, Guy noticed a handful of windmill-like housings along the way. It seemed as though they once served some kind of purpose, maybe ceremonial, or perhaps some kind of mechanical function. For whatever reason, he got the feeling they had outlived their use. Now that only blew impotently in the constant gusts for which this isle presumably got its name. Kalvar and Guy had a decently easy time pushing through the wind. Every once in a while a particularly strong breeze threatened to knock Guy over, however...

They managed to fell a couple wild red Chuchus without much fanfare, before arriving at the large, imposing, lime-green entrance of what Guy was now dead-certain to be a temple of some kind. A handful of Octorok-like statues were arranged carefully around it. Just as Guy was about to head in, the statues abruptly began pelting ferocious gusts of wind. "Some kind of defense?" Guy mumbled, "Did it trigger automatically, or..."

High above, on the edge of the temple's roof, he saw a pair of Miniblins glaring down at them--arrows already notched in tiny bows. With a grunt of annoyance, Guy quickly pulled up his Mirror Shield, covering himself as he ducked behind a nearby pillar. He assumed Kalvar would do the same...

As they started to walk, the deku asked him where Kalvar got his Hawkeye. Apparently a lot of other people had one, and he didn't. Kalvar frowned, he had figured his Hawkeye was rather special. "I had received it when I was rather young from an old man named Harley. I grew up in the western caves, and I had to help provide for food. Harley used to be an old hunter himself, and gave the hawkeye to me, since he was too old to hunt well. He was a friend of my fathers."

There seemed to be these strange finned pillars on the northern end of the isle caught his attention. They seemed to be used for something, though the purpose of said pillar was lost on him. Perhaps the temple, or dungeon, would shed some light on them. The pillars didn't seem to move very much, except occasionally rotate thanks to the wind..

After dispatching a few red Chuchu's quite easily, they arrived at what appeared to be an entrance of some sort. It obviously looked like a temple, and had a very regal look to it that Kalvar quite enjoyed. Before they could step inside however, Octorok shaped statues started spewing heavy gusts of wind at them, pushing Kalvar backwards.

"What the..." Kalvar started to ask, but suddenly two miniblins appeared atop the temple's roof. They were already pointing bows at them, and ready to fire. Instinctively, Kalvar ducked behind a pillar as the beasts shot arrows at them. He quickly grabbed and arrow from his quiver, and nocked it on his bow. Taking a deep breath, Kalvar leaped out from behind the pillar and fired. His arrow unaffected by the winds, flew forwards and hit the moblin in the shoulder. Kalvar quietly cursed as the beast cried out in pain. He had meant to hit the beast's chest, at least it couldn't fire it's bow anymore.

Quickly ducking behind the same pillar once more, Kalvar looked over to see how the deku was holding up.

Guy watched as the arrow flew eerily straight through the rushing winds. He swore he had seen an arrow do that once before, but couldn't place where. There was hardly time to think about it now, though. He considered letting Kalvar do all the work this fight, considering he was having such an apparently easy time with it...

    ...Nah, fuck that.

Guy bolted out from behind the pillar, running as hard as he could headlong into the winds. His body flashed yellow a split second before he abruptly shot forward with a Propel, just barely far enough to overpower the torrent and leap over the Octorok statues. Once atop them, he front-flipped onto the wall, landing boots-first and forcing himself upward using his Wall-Walking ability.

As expected, he saw the uninjured Miniblin aiming over the edge towards Kalvar... He heard a started yelp as it noticed Guy, rapidly climbing up the side of the temple as if it was just some mildly steep slope. After flinching in surprise, it instead aimed downward--only for its arrow to be eaten by Guy's shield. By now, ten seconds had just barely managed to pass... Guy couldn't help but smirk, drawing his sword. He abruptly launched upward with startling speed, his sword bouncing off the Miniblin's chest. He caught the edge of one foot along the top of the structure, which, thanks to his hover boots, was enough for him to get all the way onto it.

The first Miniblin dropped its tiny bow, but before it could whip its pitchfork off its back, Guy had ample time to spin out a forceful roundhouse kick. Normally he didn't whip out unarmed attacks, but the Miniblin was so small even compared to him that the blow was enough to knock it clear off the ledge. He heard a scream as it soared at least two stories face-first into the ground--and was glad he wasn't looking when there came an audible SCRUNCH of its body against stone.

His shield was raised as he cautiously approached the second. Its arm was injured, and it had just seen its ally meet a horrible fate. Guy could hardly blame it as it proceeded to scurry away... He gave a momentarily glance towards Kalvar, wondering if the boy would shoot it. By now, he could've already had another arrow notched and and ready to fire.

Kalvar was visibly surprised. The deku had some tricks of his own. He seemingly shot forwards at the miniblins, and then just walked up the wall. The beast shot some arrows at him, but they only stuck into his shield. Then, the deku suddenly shot forward again and confronted the monster hand to hand. He spun around and kicked the miniblin right off the edge of the cliff.

Kalvar watched as the beast fell down, and slammed face first into the ground. Surely, a drop from that height would kill it. However, if it did somehow survive, the wind trap that was keeping them out of the temple also prevented dead bodies from getting near it seemed. The body of the monster shot forwards towards kalvar at an alarming rate. He quickly dodged out of the way, as the corpse slammed into a far cliff wall. Ugly dark blood covered the cliffside.

Looking back up, Guy was slowly walking towards the second miniblin which Kalvar had shot moments before. The beast started to turn and run, but not before Kalvar had another shot. He quickly loaded another arrow, and fired. With the winds again seemingly affecting the arrow, the arrow embedded itself deep into Kalvar's target, the back of the beasts head. The arrow had shot straight through it's head, and was protruding from the front of his head.

The beast fell forwards, and landed directly onto it's face, but not before snapping the arrow on the rock ground. Kalvar quickly loaded another arrow in case more of those wretched miniblins showed up. However, no more beasts seemed to be appearing, so he gently lowered his bow.

"That was some technique you showed there, I've never seen anyone do that before." Kalvar said, referring to his propelling ability. "Seems mighty useful in times like this."

"Hm." It seemed this Kalvar kid didn't pull punches. Guy wasn't certain if he would have killed a fleeing enemy or not, but he supposed with it dead, there likely wouldn't be any warning about two murderers invading what he was suspecting to be some kind of Miniblin hideout. With a sigh, he moved over to the nearest corpse and began riffling though the unfortunate creature's pockets... twine... a stone used to sharpen arrows, along of course with the arrows in its quiver... There was a pitchfork, but it seemed a bit too crude and a bit too small. There was some dried bread, still in good enough shape--Guy downed it without much fanfare.

He walked off the edge of the temple, and effortlessly slid down the surface. The winds were still bellowing, but Kalvar managed to yell over them. Guy groaned inaudibly--yelling was such a chore. He rummaged across the statues, before finding a peculiar switch. With a flick of it, the air returned to normal--the only audible sounds a breeze and the roll of the ocean. Finally, Guy responded, "Believe me, it wasn't an easy ability to acquire... but needless to say it's a lifesaver." That's not to mention, it was fun as hell.

Guy tilted his head at Kalvar, waiting for him to loot the second. When the lad didn't, the Deku did so himself. He found a halfway-decent knife with a sheath, which he hastily stowed away in his Pouch to see if he could later sharpen. This one had some rations as well--Guy tossed Kalvar a decently-sized loaf of bread. "I just ate," he announced with a smirk.

"Anyway," Guy took out a handkerchief, "Want to head in first?"--and proceeded to wipe the blood off his blade, before sheathing it. "Or I could go ahead. Up to you."

Kalvar frowned it slight disgust as the Deku tossed him the Miniblins bread. Was he expected to eat this? There was absolutely no way he was going to eat something made by the beast they just killed. Not only were they not sanitary in the least, but who knows what also could be in the bread? What kind of lifestyle did the Deku have that he would eat their bread anyways? "Thanks..." Kalvar said to the deku, trying to hide his disgust. Placing it in his pouch, he moved forwards towards the entrance.

The deku had deactivated the wind trap on his way down, and Kalvar easily walked past the statues. The entrance was rather dark, and hard to see inside, at least for Kalvar anyways. Hopefully there would be torches, or other light sources inside. While he was pretty sure Deku's could see in the dark, Kalvar could not.

"I think it might be best for you to head in first." Kalvar said, in response to Guy's question. "If I'm not mistaken, Deku's have night vision. Plus, my bow is better at longer distances. If you wouldn't mind heading first." Kalvar's logic was sound, at least to him anyways. While a bow up close could be extremely powerful, it was also extremely dangerous. He could easily be attacked, and have no defense. Someone who specialized in melee combat was more suited to taking the lead. It only made logical sense, though he was unsure that a deku who ate Miniblin bread had good common sense...

Guy's face sneered. If there was any time to eat a light meal, it was definitely before a physically-demanding excursion--which he assumed they both knew this was likely going to be. Then, it hit him like a brick wall: oh, right, Kalvar is a Hylian. Hylians so often think they're too good for anything related to Moblins, or often even anything related to Deku Scrubs. Kalvar might even expect Guy to feel lucky he wasn't outright being attacked, as if he was some kind of Mad Scrub. So many Hylians were so foolish, so closed-minded... At least they weren't all like that, he thought with a sigh. Maybe he was just over analyzing the situation, or so he told himself.

Feeling the need to educate Kalvar about his kind, he mentioned in passing, "Most of us can, yes. Thankfully I happen to be in that majority." He suspected that Kalvar would want to go in second, but offered him the choice nonetheless. He nodded, then pushed in ahead... At the immediate other side of the entrance, the two delved down a staircase, and Guy soon found himself creeping open a large, imposing pair of pale yellow doors.

Darkness sank over him, yet he could will himself to peer through it, as if looking through tinted glasses. There came a steady, loud source of white noise from somewhere deeper in the temple, which Guy could not see. It seemed to be more of those wind-spewing Octoroks, or so he guessed. The almost complete lack of light made it difficult even for him to make out finer details, but thankfully that meant there likely weren't any Miniblins here--it was abnormal for them to have Nightvision, if memory served.

He crept forward steadily across stone tile--the ground beneath his boots was littered with sand, presumably dragged in from outside. The room stretched on like a long corridor, roughly 20 feet across. It seemed to reach on so deep that Guy couldn't tell where it ended. He did, thankfully, notice that there were a couple small pits here and there. With a whisper, he ordered Kalvar to, "Stay put." He didn't need the kid falling into a chute just yet.

Advancing about a dozen paces inward, Guy reached for an unlit torch--it seemed all the pillars had a sconce for holding one. He felt its tip--it was faintly damp. Someone had extinguished it fairly recently. Whether it was Miniblin or something else, someone definitely made their home here. Hopefully it wasn't so damp that he couldn't still light it, however. He took a minute to take a crude match out of his pouch, and striking it aflame. After holding it to the torch for a moment, it gradually began to crackle into flame.

...Almost as soon as the torch was fully burning, high-pitched screeches filled the room. Guy glanced up to see what must've been two dozen yellow beady eyes glaring down at them, tiny black wings flapping furiously. He barked, "Leave it to friggin' Keese to go unnoticed!" Guy quickly shoved the torch back into the sconce, before whipping out his blade and tearing it through whatever Keese dare come too close to him.

As the deku led Kalvar deeper into the temple, it only got darker and darker. Kalvar was essentially walking blind, following in the footsteps of a strange deku scrub. If anything could go wrong, it would happen now. He could hardly shoot his bow when he can't see. Hopefully there would be torches, or some other form of ambient light later in the temple. If he had known he would be exploring a temple, he would have brought torches. However, Kalvar felt rather unprepared for an underground trek.

After a while, the deku told him to stay put. Trusting the deku blindly was not the brightest idea, so while Kalvar stayed put, he drew his long sword from the sheath on his hip. He would at least be able to defend himself if something happened.

Suddenly, light flooded Kalvar's eyes. He quickly covered them, but wasn't blinded for very long.. Guy had just lit a torch on the wall. Well he sure took long enough lighting one. He could have used one a while back. Kalvar took a quick look around the area he was in. It was a really long corridor, with the occasional pit in the ground. The torch wasn't lit very long however, until a familiar screech was heard.

"Keese!" Kalvar yelled, practically the same time Guy did. The keese flew towards them at an alarming rate. It appeared the sudden light had spooked them quite badly. He swung his furiously at any Keese that got too close, and even successfully cut one in half. Though they seemed more interested in fleeing the light than the intruders. Most keese that weren't cut by either of the two adventurers swords flew directly towards the entrance of the temple. Only a few seconds later, the swarm was gone, except for a single straggler with an injured wing.

"Huh. It seems unlike Keese to just... run away." Guy watched them, a bewildered and almmost disappointed look on his face look on his face. "Despite their size, they always seem extremely aggressive, especially in numbers. Maybe those were... Aches, or something. It's hard to tell." Kalvar might or might not have known the difference, he wasn't sure. Guy offered a shrug towards Kalvar, then sighed. Looking down, he noticed the straggler. It didn't seem to be making much noise, and wasn't in their way, so Guy left it to die on its own.

With the Keese out of the way, the room was more fully lit for Kalvar to see. As if on cue, several rows of giant Octorok statues on either side of the hall started blowing ferocious gusts in an unsteady rhythm. Anyone attempting to just walk down the hallway would surely get blown into one of the chasms Guy had noticed earlier...

"So. Good luck with that." He double-jumped with a backflip, soaring high enough to latch his feet onto the ceiling. Once his boots made impact, he locked himself in place with his wall-walking ability.

"Too bad you can't walk on ceilings. It would make it much easier to get to the other side." He managed to subdue an arrogant smirk before it could appear on his face. "You're too heavy for me to carry, but... let me know if you need help otherwise."

It was strange behavior for keese. They always attacked first, and rarely ever fled. When the deku suggested Aches, Kalvar looked over at the straggler. "That probably is an Ache, there were tons of those in the western caves, didn't really bother most people" Kalvar mercifully put it out of it's misery. No sense letting a creature die slowly and painfully when he could do something about it.

Suddenly, similar statues to the ones outside started gushing wind and blocked the path. Kalvar would be a fool to try and cross it now. He would surely be launched deep into the chasms on either side of the walkway. Looking over at the deku, Guy launched himself to the ceiling, and started walking on the ceiling, but not before wishing Kalvar good luck. While the deku offered to help if he could, it was painfully obvious he couldn't carry him across like that, nor did Kalvar want to try.

Kalvar tried to look at the other side of the walkway, but it was too far away. Equipping his hawkeye, Kalvar saw something that immediately caught his eye. An eye switch was placed right above the doorway at the other side of path. Kalvar almost laughed at how simple it was. While most people's arrows would be flung into oblivion by the wind, Kalvar's arrows would not, which made this much easier than it should have been. Kalvar pulled out his bow, and aimed at the eye switch. The arrow flew directly through the wind gusts with no trouble, and struck the eye dead in the center.

The eye closed, and the gusts immediately ceased. Kalvar had to struggle keeping a straight face, barely containing a smirk. "That's taken care of" Kalvar said as he started walking down the hallway.

Through the doorway on the other side, was a stairway upwards. Kalvar followed the stairs upwards, and into a fairly empty room, with strange holes on the walls. The moment that both the adventurers had stepped foot into the room, the stairwell immediately closed off behind them. Purples Ropes started to slither out from the many holes in the walls. Kalvar quickly unsheathed his sword, and slashed at one that got too close.

(Considering how long I've let this dungeon hang, I don't blame you if you don't want to continue it. Just in case you do, though, here's a post. :rpt: )

At the far side of the corridor, Guy flipped off the ceiling, landing with a soft thwump. Seeing Kalvar's shot, he whistled as if impressed. Guy wasn't particularly good with archery, but it seemed particularly difficult with those winds blowing...

A stairway and a door-slam later, Guy and Kalvar were being bombarded with Ropes. As if Keese weren't annoying enough. Guy shifted away from Kalvar, to a safe fighting distance. The last thing either of them needed was to accidentally slash each other.

Whenever these damn things made eye contact, they rushed forward at blinding speed. Guy's wrist launched forward, using a throwing knife to cleave clean through one of their slimy bodies. As a second snake shot towards him, the knife slung forward, only to narrowly miss the tiny slithering target. Guy drew his sword proper, beheading the accursed pest as soon as it grew close.

"I have a feeling--we won't be rid of these things anytime soon." After cleaving another Rope apart, Guy spied the holes lining the walls. More and more Ropes poured forth, faster than they could be killed. Who knows how many more were waiting to come out. He shouted over the hissing throng of serpents, "I don't suppose you have a means of covering those somehow, eh, Kalvar?!"

Guy's boot stomped onto the head of another Rope, only for fangs to sink into his exposed ankle. A groan of pain shot out of Guy's face. He immediately launched skyward with a propel, clambering onto the ceiling while trying to nurse his fresh wound. One bite wasn't venomous enough to worry about, but it still hurt like hell. He couldn't just abandon Kalvar on the ground, though. He drew forth a knife into each hand, slinging them down into the crowd--though it seemed to be a wasted effort.

While Kalvar was thankful for his longsword, he cursed himself for not practicing more with swordplay. His archery, impeccable. His swordplay, extremely lacking. Not that he didn't have practice, but he rarely ever used his sword, so he found it almost redundant. Situations like this however, he was incredibly thankful. Trying to hit a Rope with an arrow when they were not even 5 feet from you, rather difficult.

As Guy jumped away from him, he gripped his sword tightly and slashed at a Rope that rushed towards him. He just managed to slice the front of its face off when another Rope charged forward to his bare feet. Eyes wide, Kalvar jumped back as far as he could from it. Just when the Rope was about to get too close, a knife, seemingly from the ceiling was shot down and stabbed the creature.

Risking a few precious seconds, he looked upwards to see Guy standing on the ceiling. Kalvar was just about to ask just how he was able to do that, when in the back of his head, he realized the Deku had asked him a question a short bit ago. Cursing his horrible attention, he spoke while slashing towards another beast.

"I don't. Unless you count that filthy bread. That might fill up a single hole." He would have chuckled at his horrible joke, if the situation wasn't this bad. He counted three, no four more ropes pouring out a few of the holes. and that was just in front of him.

A horrible hissing sound came from almost his head height, and Kalvar jerked backwards. There was a hole in the wall up to his height, and a Rope had just managed to slice his ear with one of its fangs before he got out of the way.. Quickly, he sliced his sword and cut that particular snake right in half. His ear hurt immensely, especially being on such a sensitive part of his body. "Quick question, about how many bites till their poison kills you?" He said, half joking, but also half serious.

"Got any crowd control up there besides knives? You look magic, some spells might be ni..." Kalvar's question was interrupted by a loud yell. A Rope had bit his bare foot while he was distracted, and it felt like it was practically on fire. After severing the Rope's head from its body, he quickly decided to get some new boots after all this.

"I'm not an expert on Hylian physiology," Guy quipped. He expected they could handle a fairly good amount--at least Deku Scrubs could, if personal experience was to be trusted. The bigger problem was how long Kalvar could keep slashing at those thing while screaming in agony. Even one bite to his own ankle was agonizing, let alone what that kid was no doubt experiencing.

With a look of frustration, Guy quickly dug both hands into his satchel--while wrestling to keep gravity from spilling its contents all over a floor full of snakes. He was sure he had something that could take care of this situation, better than bread anyway, if he could just find--"Aha!"

Guy dramatically heaved forth a cane of violet-colored wood, and brandished it high above his head. "The Cane of Echoes!" With a heavy-handed swing, he tore the cane through the air and towards the center of the crowded corridor. As he swung, a huge deafening boom blasted throughout the room, and an invisible wave of force flattened a large array of the carnivorous biters... Thankfully they were so fragile even this cane's echo could crush them.

"Here," Guy called over to Kalvar--hopefully his ears weren't ringing too badly, "Use this!" The cane soared through the air towards the Hylian. With the kid tucked into a corner of the room, he could potentially blast away almost every single one lining the corridor with a single swing.

...Normally Guy wouldn't have entrusted the cane to some random kid, but, he barely cared considering ropes couldn't climb walls and Kalvar was slowly dying before his eyes. It only occurred to him after the cane was thrown that if Kalvar died, through no fault of Guy's, he could have just taken that swag bow from the boy's corpse. Oh well. Maybe later.
