So, all racial abilities should be added to the Library as regular abilities, and members of a race should will be able to know some of these abilities automatically depending on their origin, but can still learn the others with effort like any regular abilities. When a character becomes another race (e.g., Transformation Mask), they do not immediately have any racial abilities and temporarily lose their original race's abilities. However, they can gain their second race's racials and use them while in that form. So then, as for the actual abilities... my personal suggestions: Hylians +1W - Residents of Castle-Town, Lon Lon, Nabooru, or Mido +1P - Hyrulean Guards +1C - Thieves of Darunia and Lost Woods +1C - Refugee of Western Caves +1P - Refugee of Eastern Caves / Ruto Resident Rupee Riches - Resident, Thief - Due to their status as nobility and upper-class citizens, or due to their proficiency as thieves, these Hylians gain an additional 50 rupees at creation only. These rupees cannot be used to purchase treasures at creation, however. Sense - Guard, Thief, Western Refugee, Eastern Refugee - Hylians who haven't been completely spoiled with riches are particularly in tune with the world around them, and have developed a sixth sense of sorts. They can detect the presence of and vague location of other living creatures purely by instinct, particularly those who are dangerous or intent on doing them harm. The range of this sense is roughly five meters, and penetrates all forms of barriers. (Ever notice how the music changes when an enemy draws near Link in the 3D games?) Spin Attack - Guard, Western Refugee, Eastern Refugee, - The green-clad hero of legend made this technique popular, and it has since become common amongst all Hylians proficient in combat. Magic Proficiency - Castle-Town - Due to how common a pastime it is for consumers to practice magic, they've been able to pick up a few things others may not have. In determining the Wisdom-rupees one starts with, these Hylians gain a more level higher than they normally would. If they already have a Wisdom of 5, then they start with 150 Wisdom rupees instead of 100. (And yes, I realize this can give them 300 rupees to spend at creation, but compared to other races, Hylians' abilities are actually rather sub-par.) Gorons +1P - Goron Slums of Castle-Town +1P - Darunia +1 Goron Treasure PWC - Slums, Darunia Stone Skin - Slums, Darunia - Most adult Gorons have developed a skin akin to stone, capable of withstanding hefty blows, searing heat, chilling cold, and takes from them the need to breathe entirely. However, it also renders them incredibly heavy and weighs them done greatly, cutting down on their running speed and preventing them from swimming at all. Goron Punch - Slums - It's actually already in the library. Goron Roll - Darunia - Go play Majora's Mask. Zora +1W - Lake Hylia +1C - Moruge Swamp (River Zora) +1P - Eastern Sea +1 Zora Treasure PWC - Hylia, Moruge, Eastern Amphibious - Hylia, Morugue, Eastern Boomerang Fins - Eastern, Moruge Electric Aura - Hylia, Eastern Fire - Moruge, Hylia Deku +1W or +1C - Kokiri Forest +1W or +1C - Lost Woods +1C - Moruge Swamp (Mad Scrub) +1 Deku Treasures PWC - Kokiri Forest, Lost Woods, Moruge Swamp Deku Nut Production - Kokiri Forest, Lost Woods, Moruge Plant Defects - Kokiri, Lost Woods, Moruge Water Hop - Moruge, Lost Woods Bubble Shot - Moruge, Kokiri Deku Leap - Kokiri, Lost Woods Kokiri +1 Wisdom Eternal Youth Language of Land Fairy Companion Gerudo +1 Power Warrior's Training - Just as those with a high Wisdom score get extra rupees to spend on treasures, Gerudo get the same for high Power and Courage scores. Wall-Kick - Gerudo have been trained in agility as well as power, and possess the nigh-superhuman ability to jump-kick off walls with ease. Rito +1 Courage Winged Flight Gale Aura - ...You know, like a variant of Zora's aura, since they evolved from the same being? Is that too much? Korok +1 Wisdom Deku Leaf Korok Copter - Notably fly much slower than Rito. Language of Flora - Basically the Kokiri's Language of Land ability, but it only applies to plants, including Deku Scrubs and fellow Koroks. Potioncraft - +1 PWC in regards to treasures with the Potion field This seems like the only thing we need to get done before role-playing starts. So, those are my thoughts. What are yours? .-.
I liked the abilities, made the races more dynamic and unique. Are we adding those into the rules or forgetting about them? Currently the races have different backstories and PWC bonuses, but I think a little something should be added to make them a bit more different to play.
We might as well consider this official. Bitoko pretty much just "forgot" to add racial abilities to the Character Creation thread. Someone--probably myself--will have to edit those in tonight or tomorrow.
Well, perhaps not the exact ones. I think the consensus was Mad Scrubs, Business Scrubs, and River Zora will become Regular-exclusive races. Eh, I'll just edit them in after I finish my first character's backstory.
