"The goddess has blessed your blade, and the Master Sword has at last achieved its ultimate form! The sword is now imbued with the mythical power to drive back demons, and only Link may wield it!"

~ Master Sword's description after the blessing of SS Zelda/Mortal Hylia

The Blessing of the Goddess and its Effects on the Master Sword

SS Zelda along Ss Link, moments before she blessed the Master Sword.

In Skyward Sword, Link forges the Master Sword from the Goddess Sword by using the 3 Sacred Flames. Though this did not got the sword to its maximum power, the sword was still missing something, the Blessing of the Goddess Hylia. When we activate the Gate of Time and go to the past, and after "tell-all speech" Zelda blesses the Master Sword, bringing the sword to its ultimate form. Though this blessing did not only got the Master Sword to its ultimate form, but it also made it so that only Link could use the sword. Sure, this is not much problem, since the Spirit of the Hero, is linked to the eternal reincarnation cycle of the Demon King and its tribe. Though even if this occur, there is still a factor that its reincarnation may not have, and that is his age. They maybe the same spirit, but not the same age, so even though they are the same person in spirit, they still are missing the age of the original Link, which was 17 and a half. This would bring some consequences in the future, which we will discuss now.

    SS Link's Age:

The Effects of the Blessing in the Era of the Hero of Time

Link pulls the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, and is put in a 7 year slumber, so that he reaches a certain age to claim the title of Hero of Time and wield the Master Sword.

The effects of the blessing Zelda gaved the sword are not seen again till the Era of the Hero of Time, when Link pulls out the Master Sword from its pedestal. When Link awakens in the Chamber of the Sages, Rauru receives him and in the things he tells him is this:

The bolded part being the most important. He says that only one worthy of the HoT title can pull out the holy blade out of its pedestal. Now going back to the times of SS, this fits quite nicely, with the statement that only Link can use the Master Sword. Link bearing the Spirit of the Hero, the same as SS Link, was able to pull out the sword, but he was too young to wield, even if he was the same as Ss Link, he still didn't had his age. So he was putted into his 7 year slumber, so that he could age and be able to wield the sword, and be able to claim the title of HoT. Though this brought its consequences on Hyrule, it was necessary, thanks to SS Zelda's blessing on the sword. The Master Sword then became a ship, which helped Link travel along the currents of the river of time.

With this we know that OoT Link was putted in the slumber because even if he had the Spirit of the Hero/was worthy of being the Hot, he still wasn't the same as SS Link, since he still wasn't old enough, and this occurs thanks to SS Zelda's blessing. But there is still a question, why doesn't this happen in ALttP, TP and WW. Lets go with that now.

Why doesn't the Master Sword, comatoses the other Links, who still haven't gotten to the age of the original.

The Master Sword, the sword of evil's bane

Lets begin with why doesn't this occur in WW:

The Master Sword no longer holds the blessing of Hylia, and it have returned to the form it onced had, before the blessing.

In WW, the Link of this era, is noticeable to be around the same age of OoT Link when he begun his adventure. This Link also pulls out the Master Sword from its pedestal, but this time this Link is not comatosed. The reason for this is unknown. But lets look at what we have said in the past. What cause Link's 7 year growth slumber, was Hylia's Blessing. Now back in WW, we see the sword is with its "wings" closed and the gem a pitch black. Now where have we seen this before? This was seen before in Skyward Sword, before the sword got Hylia's Blessing. Only difference is that the SS Master Sword, still had a glimmer in the crystal.

Now with this mine, we can see that the sword have lost the blessing, which was the thing that made the sword only usable by Link. So like this is no longer in place, because Hylia's Blessing on the sword is now gone, WW Link was able to pull out the sword after passing the trial in the Tower of the Gods.

Though not worked on much this time, I worked with a theory based around why the blessing was lost in WW, how was it recovered and more. The link is below:

Blessings of the Master Sword 2.0

    Now we go with TP:

This time around it could be simpler to find a answer. Since TP Link is pretty much the same age or is around the age of SS Link, so there would be no problem with him pulling out the sword. Since he surely bears the Spirit of the Hero, and is quite close to SS Link's age. Though it may also be attributed to a small lost of Hylia's Blessing, since the crystal is a darker tone of orange, but this could be attributed to the game artstyle. Something to note here is, that the Master Sword still bears, its time travelling abilities, though they are mixed up a bit, instead of it being activated when putting the sword in the pedestal, and instantly happening, this time Link have to go through the "Time Door" to go to another era, in this case the past Temple of Time, or seeing how the Master Sword is the last key to the SR, then the temple could very well be the Temple of Light, though that is something for another time.

    Now we finish with ALttP:

This time their is no noticeable example of the losement of Hylia's Blessing. Though the Master Sword have deteriorated, since OoT, and may be rusted, from what is seen from its appearance. Though the real damage the sword holds is not seen clearly, till it is tempered by the blacksmiths

The damaged the sword have gotten, quite the damage by the ages, something not seen, in other timelines, where the Master Sword have been in the same conditions (TP), this deterioration may have been caused by the losement of Hylia's Blessing, which also made it lose the abilities that it showed in OoT. Something interesting to note here, is that the main thing needed to destroy Ganon this time around is the Silver Arrows, along the help of the Master Sword. But for some reason a second way to defeat Ganon was created, the most probably is that the Master Sword lost Hylia's Blessing. Though there is almost none evidence, it may be the reason for this.

With that the theory comes to a end.

    Opinions?
