It’s finally here, after a really, really long delay. The new Plot Section will host all content and updates for the plot, and if they are significant enough some of the announcements may make it here too. As many of you know, there is a skin and site update coming hopefully in the future, so the hope is to put things up on the proper site in the future. For now, though, the forums will suffice. So let me highlight some of the main points. We’re trying something slightly new with how we do it, given that in the past we’ve had middling amounts of success. This coming plot will be done through something we’ve been calling “Flavor Posts.” Flavor posts will occur, hopefully, every week with 1-2 posts per week. Flavor Posts will take an in depth look at varying places all throughout Hyrule and will be the vehicle in which we translate the plot into the rest of the forums. People can consider the content and use it to help flesh out an area or even refer to actions within their own roleplay. We’ll be paying attention to what people are roleplaying, and given the circumstances there might even be the possibility to interact with some of the major NPCs in occasions beyond just the momentous ones. We’ll be paying special attention to roleplay that runs in tandem or parallel to the advancements made in Flavor Posts, because we’re going to use them as our structure for events as well. In the past we’ve had one central event with 3 or 4 quests that connect to it, but this approach is slightly different. If, for example, something happens with the Gorons in Hyrule Castle-Town, events will pop up as the Gorons may seek aid (or to someone who doesn’t like them, to perhaps deter?). These events will be mostly open-ended and often with a unique or above-average reward. We intend to take special notice of threads we deem to be of exceeding quality. When making a quest related to a posted event, please simply indicate it at the top of your quest thread. This is really exciting for us, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what you guys do with it. Unlike past plots, this plot will continue to move regardless of how quickly or slowly other members actively participate and complete threads in regard to it. Once you start a thread, though, you’re in that time-frame, so even if a thread completes long after an event is officially done, things can still make sense. I hope to see all of you in Hyrule!
