    Name: Stun-strike

    P/W/C Type: P

Appearance: No real appearance change. It’s a punch, not seeming to be anything more.

Description of Function: Upon focussing energy into their arm, the user lashes out quickly and somewhat weakly, the intent not being to break limbs or hurt the body. Upon this strike landing, the limb that is hit will go incredibly numb within a half foot of the strike. On parts like joints, this can be a massive detriment.

Limitations: Takes a second or so to charge up.

Any ideas for a different name? Stun strike feels misleading.

This... doesn't really qualify as a treasure. Mainly for this:

If I know where a nerve is on a body, then it's not too much trouble to smack it hard enough to numb it. Smack the right nerve and you've messed up movement for that limb. On top of that, the whole point of pressure points in martial arts is to disable or hinder an opponent by hitting such weaknesses.

So ultimately it doesn't need to be a treasure. You just need to know what you're doing and know your anatomy.

But isn't that the point of many treasures anyway? Could someone not say they know how a bomb works and work from there without any Bombmaker treasures? Soetimes the knowledge and experience can be gained as the treasure.

Yes, for many skills and abilities "getting the treasure" equals "learning how to do something new." However, there are some things so broad that making people buy a treasure for it seems a little much (such as a "Sword Mastery" treasure, meaning that anyone wanting to be good with swords would have to purchase that treasure). I think that what RD is saying is that this can be done by anyone with a base understanding of the CNS or PNS, and making them buy this is a little unnecessary. If someone wants to do this, they can do it without a treasure.

Would it help if this were powered up then? Disabling the limb for longer and over a wider area?

Not particularly, no. It's still the same as before, just depends on where and how you hit. See again: Pressure points.

Moving this to Unaccepted. Tsu, if you have something new you'd like to put forward, just PM a staffer. Otherwise, it looks like we're done here.
