    (Quest: Winter Event: The Wyvern)

Snow thrashes about the air in seemingly every direction all at once, ice covers the ground in unimaginable depths, and the only sound one can hear is constant and deafening gusts... Two glowing, orange eyes glare out into the blinding winds, seeing little but white and a faint blue, the two mixing together to form the vague shape of a colossal tower reaching into the sky, which one Sienna believes to be the particular mountain for which she's been searching.

There, spiraling the peak on its great wings, is no doubt the reptilian monstrosity which embodies the harshness of the arctic and the ferocity of a feral beast. At least, this is what the rumors say. Her strength is peerless, her fangs slice steel, and her breath can freeze you solid.

The miniature warrior heaves a sigh into the thick cotton lining the interior of her mask, leaving words which none can hear, "Din... Why was I made this way?" She reflected upon her reasons for this journey: It was strong, therefore she must kill it in glorious battle. A chuckle followed the sigh, and the warrior clad in spikes and steel strode forth through the snow... spitting in the face of her own mortality.

For this particular journey, Sienna took extra care in lining the interior of her typical armor with thick black cotton robes... stuffing in as much of the warmth as she could. While she knew herself to be extremely hardy, she also was well aware of just how unforgiving nature could be...

"I had a hunch that the snow was coming from the north," he said as he realized how much more the snow seemed to be. It was getting hard to walk as they reached the basin of Northern Hills, they being him and his companion from Impa, Rika. The two braved the snow on a grand adventure surprisingly without any cowardice from Sec. There was something about the snow that Sexton has always enjoyed. Sec had added an extra layer to his clothing considering his scarf wasn't quite enough to warm him in such a chilly time of the year. A green hooded cloak that was fairly thick and stuffed with Cuccu feathers. It obviously cut down his mobility a bit, but it was better than getting frostbite.

The two had been on the road the majority of the time so they hadn't heard a rumor of a dragon that had been so boldly spoken of. But as they entered the hilly environment of Northern Hills they heard a strange noise get louder and louder. It was severely muffled due to the whirling blizzard that was ensuing outside of the mountain, so it could not be distinguished as a monsters growl from a cry for help. Ironically it was both, but neither had anything that the dragon wanted or needed except maybe a snack.

"Well, yeah. The people who said that it was suddenly turned into a snowy blizzard almost overnight kinda helped too. Either way, things like this don't just happen overnight. Something had to have happened, which means there might be treasure." Rika quickly responded to Sec, as they continued through the blizzard. Rika already had a decent amount of clothing, so he didn't really need to add another layer to it. However, on the way to the Northern Hills, Rika stopped by Lon Lon Ranch and got a scarf.

As Rika and Sec traversed the blizzard, they started hearing an increasingly strange noise, muffled by the snow. "What's that noise? We really have no idea where we're going, want to check it out?" Rika quickly said to Sec, looking in the direction the noise was being heard from. Little did they know, it was probably the ferocious dragon they would soon be fighting.

Before she took another step forth, Sienna threw a glance behind her. She could not hear through the deafening winds, nor could she see through the blinding snow, yet somehow there was some... presence... down there, near the base of the mountain. Would it hinder her, she wondered. Her orange eyes widened with surprise as she realized what must be happening: the harsh weather was getting to her, making her paranoid. She effortlessly wiped the thought from her consciousness, and continued her struggle upwards.

The deprivation of her senses left the Scrub bewildered as to how much time had passed, much less how much progress she's made. All that was certain was the dragon's roars becoming louder and more clear. She was making progress, and that fact was all she focused on as she continued to make more. Step after countless step, she climbed through the snow. Her gauntlets were on the verge of rusting due to the endless walls of ice she brought herself over.

Surely... the dragon would not be much further now. Yet, in the far corners of her mind, Sienna continued to ponder on the distant presence she felt earlier. Inexplicably, she could not banish it completely from her thoughts. The annoyance nagged at her, as if the creature or creatures would soon become significant...

(...and that would be my first RP post made from a cell phone. :tpr:)

Sexton pondered on the question for a moment. "I guess we are going to have to check it out," he said as they quickly pursued the sound. The problem is that they were unsure where the sound was coming from. They continued deeper into the blizzard, the only real thing that made them know they were headed the correct direction was how the snow got increasingly more intense. The only thing that Sexton could really think right now is what was causing such a blizzard, the person that spoke to them about it didn't specify what caused this sudden outburst of snow on a typically warm land.

The countryside was normally a mountainous environment but now was blanketed by a foot of snow. The snow was getting so well packed that they weren't even sinking into it which was a double edged sword. On one hand it made it easier to move. It was difficult for Sec to have to lift his legs out of a foot of snow every step, he could only imagine how hard it would have been for Rika. The only problem was that standing atop the snow didn't give them much traction, which would be fatal in such a mountainous environment.

Despite walking on the well packed ice, Rika still managed to mostly keep his traction while walking. However, it would present a major problem if he had to run, climb uphill, or quickly change directions, and he would probably end up sliding due to it. As Rika and Sec pursued the noise and got ever so closer, it became louder and louder, but still indistinguishable. Suddenly, however, it stopped. Rika and Sec continued going closer, however, as they came upon a surprising site.

It seemed to be the remnants of a destroyed carriage. However, no people were to be seen. What could have happened? Slowly walking over to investigate, Rika bent down, looking at some of the broken wooden pieces of the carriage's roof. The edges appeared to be sliced, and were not very jagged or rough like one would expect. The insides did not have very much snow on them, either. ". . . Sec, keep your guard up. This happened recently, it may have been where the sound was coming from." Glancing back up, Rika could see the mountain in closer detail; They had come very close to it while trying to follow the noise. Perhaps too close, even.
