On the end of the staff is carved the name Aren in simple letters, the way Rozalyn confirms that the staff was the property of her brother. On each end of the staff is iron originally so Aren could hit people who assaulted him. The staff had been treated so that it would last a long time, but it does seem to be on the verge of falling apart even still. The book Rozalyn inherited is bound with leather dyed blacked and ornate sigils decorated with gold encrusted into it. 5 inches thick and full of page edge worn from constant use and the pages themselves discolored.
