Piers shivered as he fumbled through the stormy night, looking for some sort of shelter from the rain. The weather had changed faster then he had ever expected, it must of been due to being so close to the mountains he figured. It wasn't terrain he was used to predicting weather in. He didn't even have time to set up a shelter, the little Kokiri's only plan was to keep moving in hope of finding a cave or a really big tree. His travel cloak was already soaked through, it was fortunate that it was a warm rain instead of something icy cold.

With no light to go by, Piers was effectively stumbling around blind. Because of that it was little surprise to him when he crashed head first into something. It knocked him to the ground with a bump on his head to show for it. He let out a long groan in response, half in pain and half in frustration. Before standing up though, Piers decided to figure out what he bumped into.

It was wooden at the very least, even if it didn't have bark. Maybe an old dead tree that was still standing. Although...it was awfully flat to be a tree. Piers ceased to care about that though when he realized that the rain wasn't hitting him anymore. It must of been a big tree then, it's branches were protecting him from the downpour. Without bothering to stand up, the Kokiri pulled himself into a ball in front of the object and steeled himself to wait out the rest of the storm. Hopefully it'd be over soon and he could get a fire started.

It was a quiet and stormy evening in the town of Nabooru, and in this quiet and peaceful place on the edge of town sat a small log home. A warm light could be seen from its windows as the flickers of fire cascaded along the walls, and a steady stream of smoke emanated from its chimney. Inside this little home lived a man named Dargus. A man of "queer sorts" as his neighbors would call him, very much of a social misfit and oblivious sort, though Dargus was happy, and that was all that really mattered anyway wasn't it? The sound of rain hitting his roof had always been a sound that soothed Dargus, and tonight would be no different. He was in his usual spot, sitting in a large tattered armchair next to the window and near his roaring fire. There he would sit, letting hours pass as he carved away on little blocks of pine he collected from the forest, humming to tunes the crackle of the fire and patter of rain conducted to him.

His house was unorganized, severely cluttered even, but he liked it this way. This was home. He never had visitors over, for who would want to visit Dargus? The man never seemed to bathe, his beard would always be covered in disgusting leftover food, or sticky with dried whiskey, and his breath... it is said that a swine smelt fairer. No, he didn't need to keep his home clean for anyone.

As he hummed the shape of a small little chipmunk began to take shape in the wood he carved away on. Dargus's walls were covered in shelves of his little carvings, most of them little animals whom he called his friends. After finishing them, he would give them a name and give them their own little space on a shelf. "Chomper," he muttered. Yes, that would be a good name. He eyed the chipmunk for a few moments, making sure that it was indeed finished, and once he felt satisfied with it he brushed it off and stood up. "Here ya go, Chomper," Dargus said, setting him on the shelf. It was then that a large thumping noise sounded at Dargus's door.

Startled yet very surprised, Dargus excitedly made his way to his door. The last time anyone had come knocking was when a group of Business Deku from Woodfall had come asking if they could set up shop on his land. Dargus would have happily obliged however the Deku were appalled at the man's odor and foul appearance and ended up setting up shop at a neighbors. Stumbling over some firewood left on the floor, Dargus made it to the door. Clearing his throat he turned the doorknob and opened it. At his feet was what looked like a slumped over little child clad in green. It was peculiar, he had never seen this child around Nabooru before.

"Hey there, little fella," said Dargus. "What you doing here?"

Piers shielded his eyes as light flooded his vision. It was so bright compared to the utter darkness that it stunned him for a moment, his only movement being falling on his back in surprise. The distraction prevented him from hearing what was said, but going off of tone of voice alone the Kokiri could tell the person speaking was not disturbed by their discovery of him.

"H-hi!" Piers managed a cheerful greeting regardless of being cold and taken off guard. "I g-got a little l-lost in the storm-m, I g-guess I thought-t your door w-was a big tree! S-sorry about that."

As his eyes adjusted to the light, Piers started to make out who he was talking to. He was a larger person then most Hylians, both in height and width. His clothing and hair looked like what every Kokiri looked like when they've spent the day playing around in the forest, it made Piers wonder if he was a lumberjack or something. And while his face was very rough looking, Piers could see the softness in it. How easily the smile formed on his face, how his eyes shined with an inner kindness, just the way the guy carried himself told Piers he was a friendly guy. Although a strange taste in his mouth told him he should probably be glad his nose was stuffed up from being cold.
