We want as many people as possible to be Regulars. The norm for the member base shouldn't be Newcomer, it should be Regular. Newcomers are only so after registering, when they're still proving themselves decent, active RPers. Once they've been on long enough and proven that they're active, decent RPers, it's time to create a nomination thread.

Just make a new thread here, in the Regulars forum, with "Nomination: [Name]" as the title ((side-note, if I see any actually called "Nomination: [Name]" I will first lol, then delete)).

Not everyone will have RP'd with the nominee, unfortunately. Please provide a Writing Sample to showcase the member's writing; this will minimize the amount of forum-scavenging that voters will have to do. Evidence should also be provided of the member's activity levels.

While activity and skill are important, there's something even more significant to the nomination/promotion process: attitude. If someone is hostile, continually antagonistic, or just plain rotten, he should not be considered for promotion.

Keep an updated list of members' for/against votes in the first post of the nomination thread. Don't forget to include your own nomination as a vote in favor! If you're voting, make sure that you're extremely clear in which side you're choosing. Being vague can do nothing but stall the promotion process. If you vote "against," be sure to include your reasons why; even if it's personal, like bad history, it's important. Regulars' votes count as 1 each, and every Veterans' vote counts as 1.5.

If rational discussion cannot bring unity to the voters, the thread needs to come to a vote. End the debate and collect the votes, once it is clear that a consensus will not be reached. If there is a favor of 2/3 or more, a Moderator will promote the Newcomer to Regular-dom and post a "Congratulations!!!!" thread. At that time, any nomination thread regarding the member will be permanently deleted. We don't need the "against" votes causing unnecessary drama. Otherwise, the Newcomer will remain a Newcomer, and the nomination thread will be locked. A new nomination thread, however, can be created at any time.
