    Name: Mute Reiffer

    Age: 57 years

Gender: Will be treated as male, but the gender is really unknown.

    Race: Goron

Place of Origin: Mute was born and raised in Death Mountain, but currently resides in Hyrule Castle-Town.

    PWC: (5/1/2)

Treasures: Rupees (65), Ember Seed Supply

Abilities/ Skills: Goron Punch (racial), Stone Skin (racial), Crafting, General (Blacksmith lv. 2)

Height: When standing erect Mute reaches a height of 6' 11", however due to his constant slouching he generally seems only around 6' tall.

Weight: Mute weights, on average, 410 pounds. This varies with his appetite.

Equipment: Spending most of his time in his shop, Mute has little to carry around. Where ever he goes, he always carries his favorite blacksmiths hammer in a roughly made leather holder on his belt.

The only other possession Mute calls his own is a large stone war hammer. The hammer has a large stone cylinder on one end that weights close to 80 pounds. Heavy leather straps tie the head to a thick wooden shaft, the handle of which is wrapped tightly with leather bands to provide grip. This is not a fast weapon, and takes considerable strength to wield. The head is heavily scarred from countless battles, but remains strong and deadly. Mute carries this hammer in a sling on his back.

Appearance: Mute is large and heavy set, standing at about 6' 11" and weighing 410 pounds. His eyes have a dark gleam that sets many people on edge. They have often been described as looking vengeful. He is devoid of any tribal markings, except a down facing, white crescent moon on each of his biceps. Mute's defining feature is an ugly pale scar that ranges across the front of his neck, roughly 8" long and a half inch wide. His hands are also scared from battle, and exceptionally rough from years of hard labour.

Residence: Mute currently resides in the Goron Slums in Hyrule Castle-Town. He is staying on the upper floor of a small two-story building owned by a rich Hylian merchant. When he was forced to move to Castle-Town the Hylian offered him free room and board in exchange for cheap labour in his smithy. Mute was given the room above the smithy for his own, and although it was very poorly furnished Mute made himself at home.

The "bedroom" is accessed by a wide staircase on the back wall of the smithy. On the ground floor the staircase is enclosed in a small back room, closed off from the rest of the building by a wooden door. The staircase enters directly into the makeshift personal quarters. The ceiling of the second floor is 12 feet high, the same as the lower floor. On the wall opposite the staircase is a small barred window, set 8 feet above the floor. Mute has a rough straw mattress laid on the floor under the window. Next to the mattress is a strong, iron bound wooden chest, in which Mute stores his rupees and other valuables. On the left wall of the building is a large, tapped, wooden cask filled with drinking water. Beside the cask is a crate of delicious rocks. On the wall opposite the food and water leans Mutes war hammer. It sits head down on against the wall.

The lower floor is entirely dedicated to a large smithy. The back half of the room contains a stone trough of water and a large stone furnace. To the left of the furnace is a row of molds and forms, for making low end weaponry, tools and horse shoes. A large stone anvil graces the center of the room. To the right of the anvil is a rack of Mutes tools and a chest of basic materials. The front of the room is dedicated to displays of amour and racks of weapons.

Backstory: Mute was born on Death Mountain to a large, happy family. As soon as he was old enough to box Mute rose above his peers. His ability to knock out Gorons his size with ease astounded his peers, and caused them to stop boxing with him. Sumo wrestling was another story entirely. Mute was terrible at wrestling, and found himself on his back more often than not. No one knew what made him so bad at it, but it was a minor mark of shame among his friends.

When Mute turned 20 years old, he began training to craft. An elder taught him and six other young Gorons to craft with metal. Mute was not the best in this group, but his work was passable. He spent the next 22 years working on his craft. He met many travelers, and sold much of his work to them. Mute never crafted for the rupees. The joy of creation was all the reward he needed. If materials had been free Mute would have gladly given his work away for free.

Suddenly life was thrown into turmoil. Ganon appeared south of the Mountain. The land was burning, and the threat was advancing on Mutes home. Mute set down his blacksmiths hammer and picked up a massive war hammer in its stead. He began training with the militia, in preparation for Ganons armies. Two years after Ganon first attacked Southern Hyrule he sent his armies at the Mountain. Mute fought on the front lines, shoulder to shoulder with many of his friends. Attacks crumpled on the Goron lines for three years. Many brave Gorons died, but the Moblins and other horrors could not breach the Mountain. Soon before Ganon himself turned to the Mountain Mute suffered a terrible wound. A Moblin spear cut his throat while Mute was on the back swing with his hammer. The thrust was strong, and the wound was great. Life blood spilling, Mute was dragged off the field of battle. His wound was treated, but he would not forget it. The cut was so deep that he would never speak again. This brush with Death kept Mute off the front line until Ganon torn down the gates. On the retreat to Northern Hyrule, Mute fought once again with his friends and companions. They had seen Ganon coming through the mountain and ran like cowards. If they had not, they would have died with so many others.

He moved with many others to Hyrule Castle-Town. It was there he discovered his parents had been killed when Ganon stormed Death Mountain. Unable to mourn anymore than he already had, Mute moved into in the slums and kept to himself. After a few weeks he began looking for work, not for the rupees but to keep his mind at ease. He came across a rich Hylian man, who owned several shops and a few stalls in the market, who was looking for someone to man his smithy. The man offered him a free place to live, in exchange for drastically reduced pay. Mute was no fool, and understood his pay cut was much steeper than it should have been, considering the accommodations, but he was happy to be able to do work he loved. He settled into the Slums and began to live a simple life.

As content as Mute is in his new situation, he constantly hungers for a chance to pay Ganons armies back for the pain they caused his entire race.

Re: Mute Reiffer [Ready for grading]

There's some minor grammatical typos here and there, but that's negligible. The main problem is that this Goron is apparently over ten feet tall. The only Gorons in canon who reach such heights are Dangoro (maybe), Medigoron, and Biggoron... and I thought it was implied that you couldn't make a Goron that large in the same way you can't make a Hylian who's a Sheikah.

Maybe someone will disagree with me, but I believe 10 feet is a bit over the top, so I won't be accepting this. Maybe someone else will.

At the time I was unaware of the height of a Goron and referred to a wiki.

Height has been changed to a more reasonable number, based on a discussion with some people. :)
