Marcus Heilari

This wasn't the first time Marcus had lost a companion, but he found that every loss cut him to the quick just the same. He hadn't seen it happen, but he'd heard Phantom Ganon's taunting testimony, and Harry had never met up with them after the ghost's vanquishing. Marcus was tired- so tired. He wanted to save people, to heal them and protect them, but was he really doing that? He wasn't protecting anyone, and he wondered whether his presence actually put people in more danger than they would be otherwise. Doubt was settling into his mind, and even though he reminded himself of his healing magic, it refused to be shaken.

In his work as a part-time school nurse at the Academy of Sages, Marcus is called upon to stop a rampaging Cryak. Together with Headmaster Clearwater, he found the elusive monster and brought it down with a combination of magic and smarts. In his talk with the professor, he also learned a new basic spell and was invited to walk in on classes during his off periods. What a day!
