    Name: Anne Llangollen

    Age: 19

    Gender: Female

    Race: Hylian

Traits: Sense, Spin Attack, Hero's Legacy

    Place of Origin:

Anne hails from the northern lands, specifically the ancient fount of Hylian power, Castle Town. She grew up in the Noble District, to the principled and titled Llangollen family. Her prestigious lineage has been said (or at least claims) to date back to even the first recorded conflicts with the forces of darkness, and a few even stretch out into myth. In fact, her entire family tree is abundant with names belonging to famous paladins and priests of Hylia. Though, such a champion of the Goddesses has not been produced by her line for quite a number of generations, and the estate now supports itself with simple trade and politics like any other Noble family. Anne is the first and only child of Mendax and Igna’vus, the respective Patriarch and Matron of the Llangollen line. They were both rather traditional, meaning Anne’s rearing was that of an eventual bride. Rather, it would have been, if they had spent more time to oversee it. Instead, neglect paved the way for young Anne’s love of literature and language. Not to mention, such an expansive estate amongst the throngs of tightly-knight buildings within Castle Town meant Anne had plenty of opportunity to pass the time with sport.

    Equipment:

She wears simple but fine clothes, for she left her more showy dresses behind. The clothes are padded, and reinforced with an underline of studded leather. She want’s to acquire some decent armor as soon as possible, possibly with a nice floral pattern. Only three items on her person hint at her true noble bearing. One is her hood, a lavish purple, and as comfortable as it is intricately detailed. She keeps the hood drawn most of the time, it’s obscuring qualities often the only thing giving her the confidence to speak with strangers. The other two items are a shield and saber, ancient heirlooms formerly in possession of her great uncle, the last Llangollen paladin. The beautiful craftsmanship of the shield shows through, despite many scars of battle, and the straight edge of the saber remains as sharp as the day the first of her line charged into the enemy hordes. Her only other possessions of note are an ill-fitting backpack Lister ‘found’ for her, and a well kept pair of adventuring boots that her traveling companion outgrew long ago. The backpack contains all the basic things an errant heiress needs to survive on the harsh road, including makeup.

    Appearance:

The heiress is small, just a little over five feet tall, and her bone structure is deceptively attenuated. While one might assume it would take but a small breeze to knock her over, this is far from the truth. Anne’s body is suffused with muscle and sinew, and her arms are knotted with strength like the boughs of a tree. It is said a member of her line was no one else then Metah, the great scout, who cleared the fissure separating the old Gerudo lands from Hyrule in a single leap. Anne is a creature of drive matched only by her meekness. When not carefully watched, which was often, she would entertain herself by meeting and seeking new goals. First, it was to see how far she could skip a stone, then it was to see how quickly she could run the entirety of the family garden. She even decided to discover if one could shape the earth with their arms alone, as Din had before her. Years later, any stone she flung faded from sight, the garden a mere jaunt, and her own private glen sculpted to taste. One thing not found in her prestigious bloodline however, was looks. While not homely by any means, her unaltered face is scarred with freckles in a line between her eyes and mouth, running across the bridge of her nose. Her raven hair is long and waifish, ending at about her upper-chest. She prefers to keep it trussed in a set of twin braids that frame either side of their face like furled curtains. A thick set of glasses, Zora forged, rest tightly on the ridge of her small nose, hiding a set of dazzling blue eyes. It’s a necessary sin, as she is quite blind without them.

    Personality:

Anne’s psyche is best described as single delicate flower of confidence astride a sea of self-doubt, constantly gnawed at by the mites of insecurity. Her parents are probably to blame for this. What, you don’t seem to have any magical aptitude? Our line of heroes has surely come to an end. What, you can bench a small mule? Not very lady-like. What, you’ve meet with a terrible fate, haven't you? Better seclude you away from everyone while we try and understand why our daughter is so horrible. Bad parenting aside, she is naturally shy, and tries to avoid any and all unnecessary contact with others. It took poor Lister nearly a month to get the girl to look her in the eyes, not that Lister’s charming attitude did anything to help on that front. When not lost in self-doubt, Anne proves to be extraordinarily kind, always looking to ensure the happiness of others. While not quite clever, she’s unquestionably smart, which is ultimately better. Polite and well mannered, she is quite capable of social discourse when all other options have been exhausted. For some time now, the heiress has looked up to Lister as the embodiment of freedom, and trusts her implicitly. Ignorant of the world beyond her estate walls, she carries herself with a diminutive posture, and lets Lister do the talking. Her voice is quiet, and often stutters when flustered. Definitely a pacifist to the core, but is incapable of holding back in a fight. While glad to be free of the expectations of Nobel life, she does at times miss the comfort. Her upbringing was not totally wasted on Anne, and her domestic skills are quite strong, as Lister is very fond of her cooking. She used to fear dying alone.

    Name: Lister Maupin

    Age: 26

    Gender: Female

    Race: Hylian

Traits: Bonus Treasure (Song of Healing), Magic Proficiency (Jinx), Business

    Place of Origin:

Lister knows not where she was born, perhaps the wilderness itself. Her earliest memory is of wandering the wastes of Ikana, and finding salvation in a settlement of monsters. Perhaps the denizens would have simply let her fade away, becoming another Poe among the ranks of undead, if not for her innate magic. Maybe they found her continued existence amusing, or recognized something familiar in the icy sheen of those young eyes. Regardless of their reason, she grew up as one of them, and became a fine monster in her own fashion. Ironically, her time within her adopted ‘homeland’ was the most peaceful. Her wanderlust, and an insatiable yearning for adventure, drove Lister to explore every nook and cranny of Southern Hyrule. Whist wise enough to keep from less neutral settlements, she has had a taste of every land foolish enough to indulge her appetite. Magical knowledge is scarce in the south, so the clever woman made do by learning from the land, reverse engineering her favorite curse from the Blue Bubble’s that roamed the countryside. Thus, Lister is a both a monster hunter, and a sort of scholar. One who makes her living turning a creatures tricks or curses back in on itself. In her travels, the woman has even managed to earn a nickname by those who know what little she will tell of her past, ‘Devil’ Lister.

    Treasures and Rupees:

Song of Healing - Bonus Treasure

    Jinx - Magic Proficiency

    Tendrils of Darkness - 45r

    Slow - 30r

    Profession lv2 - Business + 10r

Curse of Tied Lives - 15r

    Equipment:

She was never one for finery, and certainly not one for billowing robes. No, Lister instead much prefers to wear clothes most suited to travel and hasty retreats. Her jacket and vest are thick, but simple enough to stow in the summer, and complement her worn leggings nicely. A number of runes and symbols have been etched upon her attire, of both the legitimately magical and purely superstitious variety. Her clothes are all of a crimson or rust-colored theme, something she adopted once her nom-de-guerre of ‘Devil’ began to take off. Dyed to match her clothes, a wide-brimmed, pointed hat rests contently just above her brow. Lastly, a metal gauntlet covers her left arm to the shoulder, secured by a Lizalfos’s strap. Said strap doubles as a minor bandoleer, keeping a number of small knives and other tools close at hand. She has her own backpack, filled with many provisions and equipment to live on the road. The backpack also contains her hand-written journals on monsters and their magic. Some are diaries, but a cipher ensures that none may understand their contents. Lister has a heirloom of her own, in the form of her current pair of boots, a gift from her adoptive family. They even still smell a little of Stalfos. For self-defense, she keeps a crossbow and at least twenty bolts slung over one shoulder, along with a slingshot, should things get absolutely desperate. She's also and adept fencer, and has been known to grift rupees from the crowd by putting on demonstrations of her skill, or even the occasional illegal duel.

    Appearance:

The devilish woman has a wild appearance that lives up to her nickname. She is very tall, a clean 6 foot-and-then-some in height, a perk of her southern heritage. Despite her ethnicity and life of travel, a well balanced diet was hard to find in Ikana, so she is not quite as muscular as she ought to be. Not at all helped by her Laissez-faire attitude, her overall physique is moderately thin and lacking in raw strength. Her features are exceptionally beautiful, and shines through matted hair and sun-kissed skin. Even when in the midst of research or one of her bouts of mischievousness, she has been known to posses an alluring aura. Her hair is a blighted blond, and a lightly darker shade at the tips. It is cut very short, about to the bottom of her ears, to keep from being an issue when traveling. Her eyes shine a deep emerald green, and have been known to twinkle when deciding on an amusing next course of action. Her lips are often pressed in a wry smile, as if she finds nearly everything in the world just a little amusing, and carries herself with an aura of confidence that DEMANDS to be recognized. She’s suffered a few bruises and cuts about her body, but Lister feels that scars ought to be worn with pride.

    Personality:

While her childhood was rather pleasant, it was only because she had the wit to make it so. Lister has never been given anything for free, nor does she expect to. Every single comfort or triumph in her life has been earned through guile, patience, bargaining, and bitter resolve. Upon leaving the sanctuary of her home, and returning to more civilized lands, she learned quickly what true monsters were. Thus, she tends to keep others at an arm’s length, her boisterous attitude and mischievous ways a deeply ingrained method of self-defense. Growing up an ‘only child’ so to speak, she rarely puts others well being above her own. She enjoys it when people take an interest in her, and endeavors to keep said attention. In both physical and social conflicts, Lister is not averse to fighting dirty. While Lister would never admit it, she is very loving at heart, especially to those she’d call family. Not particularly book-smart, but she is quick to learn. Highly adaptable, and capable of understanding even complex magical theory by instinct alone, of which she has years of experience under her belt. She speaks clearly and with command, only losing her cool when caught off guard. Literally raised by pigs, she lacks most domestic skills. In her travels, she’s picked up singing as a hobby, even doing a few minor stints at a local opera. Deep down, she is lonely, and enjoys the thought of someone depending on her. Coincidentally, the Devil has come to value Anne’s faith, but tries her best to hide it.

    Background (Both) :

It’s fair to say these two lived very different lives before meeting, lives that had no reason to ever intersect. Lister would no doubt continue to learn and perfect her arts. That is, unless her luck finally ran out, and met with a terrible fate. Ann would simply go on to wed whomever the Llangollens needed her to wed, and lived a perfectly safe and domestic existence. Miserable, but safe. That all changed when Anne met with a terrible fate of her own, in the form of a great curse. She began to manifest great amounts of entropic energy, destroying everything nearby with the slightest movement. Through sheer will alone, Anne managed to bring the effect to heel. Yet, leaving the malignant maelstrom contained was slowly destroying her body.

Through a few connections, and a smidgen of kidnapping, Lister was found and brought to the estate. Upon being so hastily... appropriated, the Devil was unable to bring her journals. Thus, she was denied all the spells they contained. Cross, and with half a mind to simply murder the heads of family in their sleep, she was surprisingly quick to take on Anne’s case. Perhaps it was her academic curiosity, perhaps the shy women’s good heart gave Lister pause, or perhaps she’s simply tsun. Regardless, the woman began looking for a way to cure the affliction, even without the aid of her journals. While their relationship was very clinical at first, especially given Lister’s callus first impression, the duo inevitably began to learn more about one another as the weeks turned to months. Lister was something wild and new to the young heiress, and the first person concerned only with her wellbeing (even if it was under duress). Whilst the monster-raised Hylian was surprised to find someone who treated her as an equal. While not quite friends, the two got along rather well during their time at the estate. To aid with looking for a cure, Lister taught Anne a few techniques to help channel the curse, alleviating some of the self-harm it caused.

While the curse proved more stubborn than anything Lister had ever seen, it did not account for the fact Lister was just as stubborn, and twice as rash. In a last ditch effort, Lister attempted to draw the curse into herself, and seal it. In a way, she succeeded, but would go on to theorize that the curse ‘allowed’ for the eventual outcome. Anne was no longer at constant risk, but the curse itself was now extended to Lister, binding their lives together. They now hurt when the other hurts, heal when the other heals, and each and every day feel as if the lines between their souls are becoming frayed. Not soon after, a certain eavesdropping Devil discovered the heads of house knew more about the curse than they pretended.

Lister has yet to reveal exactly what this new context is, but merely described it as “pure selfishness” when Anne continued to pry. She was only halfway through planning her escape, when an assassin tried to smother Lister during sleep. Without the spells in her journals, Lister has little use in a fight. She would have died, had Anne not felt the suffocation, and come to her aid. Worried, and unsure who to trust, Anne made a snap decision, and fled with an unconscious Lister. Many a cousin and distant relative were both shocked, and knocked prone, by this turn of events. The older woman was proper cross when she awoke and discovered the details, but there was no going back now. Besides, the two were still bound to one another. Now fugitives, and Lister officially branded a kidnapper, they must make their way back to the Devil’s old haunts, recover her journals (should they even remain), and hopefully find a way to sever the curse for good. Oh, and perhaps getting caught up in a side quest/adventure or two along the way.

*Curse of Tied Lives -- Whenever one dies, the other dies as well, and it goes the same for wounds or other physical damage. What it also means, however, is that whenever one of them is healed, it affects the other in the exact same way. This effect extends to any treasure of the [Heal] field, as well, in case that isn't clear, and damage done by any source -- whether a treasure or something more common -- is shared between the two as well.

I've heard from Cloud that he already approved the 'Curse of Tied Lives' as a treasure, so that checks out.

Two characters in one is certainly usual. That said, I don't see any jarring reason why these characters should be held back. Approved.~

Oh, right. I had talked with Cloud for a good while to work out the character mechanics. Sorry, I should have made a footnote to cite my sources XP. Either way, thanks for the approval!
