Equipment: Large Sack: A plain and sturdy bag that is often worn as a rudimentary backpack and dwarfs its owner in size, containing nearly everything needed for her business. Appearance: A tiny two feet tall and ten pounds, Lily could be accurately described as mostly flowers. A mane made of layered rings of flowers extends from around her neck and drapes across her body, the overall effect similar to as if she was wearing a poncho. These flowers are also her namesake, as they resemble lilies and their arrangement resembles numerous oversized leis. Her actual body is slender and small, comparable to a doll in size and shape. Her head is by far the largest part of her, a perfectly round sphere that sits atop her neck. Because of how stubby her arms are and how big her head is, she cannot actually reach directly above her. She has a cute, unassuming face that is nearly permanently in an approximation of a smile. Her snout is on the dainty side, seeming small for how large her head is. By contrast, her softly glowing and completely red eyes are very large and take up the majority of her face. The leaves atop her head given an impression of pigtails hanging down either side, little lily like flowers dangling on the ends. Atop her head she wears a conical hat, which is always slanted to one side due to her short reach. The hat is decorated with leaves on its tip and is a light orange and yellow color, with a pattern of horizontal rings, and vaguely resembles a palm tree. Her flowers vary in color, but each 'ring' is the same consistent one. First and closest to her head is red, then the second is orange, third is yellow, fourth is green, fifth is blue, sixth is indigo, and lastly the seventh is violet. Though mostly visible in her head thanks to her flowers, her bark is a mix of light and dark brown with a smooth texture and pattern similar to a walnut tree. Personality: To nearly everyone she meets, Lily comes across as an enthusiastic and eager little kid trying to get a head start on their own business. Adorable and a little bit foolish, most believe her to be clearly too young and innocent to understand where she makes mistakes. In truth, this image is purposefully invoked and meant to prey on those who give children a lot of extra leeway. She often resorts to crocodile tears and other emotional appeals to get her way, usually to 'force' people to buy her products or to get out of trouble. When that fails, she can become extremely petulant and rude and this display of frustration is not part of the act. If even that doesn't accomplish what she wants, she will quickly run away and abandon all responsibility for her actions. Despite these traits, she is considered mature enough by Deku Scrub standards and in many ways her behavior isn't outside the norm for them. She is extremely possessive of what is hers, be it a spot to sell things, a particular customer, or her precious rupees. This possessiveness often lead to outright paranoia, and a miserly obsession with hoarding but never spending money. As a result she has a very spartan lifestyle, unwilling to spend money on comforts and prone to haggling over the most minor of expenses. Due to her nature as a plant, for the most part this suits her just fine and doesn't seem all that different from any other Deku Scrub. However, thanks to often being offered sugary snacks by Hylian grandmothers, she has a very strong sweet-tooth so to speak. She loves all things sugar, and will go to great lengths to obtain it. Her obsession with it is to the point that she will attempt to swindle someone out of a single piece of candy, and failing that outright try to purchase it for absurd prices. Unfortunately, once the sugar high wears down, she always finds herself regretting any excessive spending her desperation for sugar might have incurred. While her affection for confections and other treats is a matter of addiction, she has a genuine love for money. Any opportunity to make money, no matter what it is, will instantly catch her attention and offering her money is the best way to get her to cooperate with someone. Such offers usually are followed by her trying to haggle for more, but the risk of losing it entirely puts her at a disadvantage in such dealings. Even though her business practices are shady, she does actually understand the basics of running one. She does her best to only cut as many corners as she can get away with, and there is virtually no corner she isn't willing to cut if it means she'll make a profit. This can be a struggle at times, as her greed can lead to careless mistakes that result in having to change locations to avoid a bad reputation. While she does enjoy sweets and the company of those she can get something out of, Lily lacks any real friends or hobbies. She believes that time is money, and anything that uses up time but doesn't make her money is a waste. Although her membership with the Business Scrub Association is as suspect as her products, she desires to become The Richest Business Scrub Ever one day. Background: Born in the Lost Woods, Lily spent the first few years of her life defending her Deku Flower. This part of her life was fairly ordinary and actually quite peaceful, as she mostly fended off minor forest creatures and other things that posed little actual threat. Her interest in money actually came to light during this time, before she had even grown arms. Finding stray rupees isn't particularly difficult to do, but the very first time she saw one she was mesmerized by it. At the time she kept it simply because it was pretty, and keeping an eye out for more helped to pass the time. It was only when a traveling business scrub happened upon her flower that she learned of their value. The concept of money, and of being rich, fascinated the young scrub. Though the business scrub was mainly interested in selling something to her, he indulged her many questions about how to make money and what business even was. Of course, not for free, as he insisted she buy something for every question. So she scampered about collecting what rupees she could find in order to fund her curiosity. In a way an act of kindness on the Business Scrub's part, one of the things he sold her was a Deku Leaf and instruction on how to make use of the Korok Copter technique. Before he eventually departed to take his business elsewhere, he sold her a pair of Harvest Rings. These rings would become instrumental in her own plans, as after learning from the scrub she wished to become a Business Scrub as well and to obtain as much money as she could. To that end, she came up with the idea of selling pumpkins without having to spend any more of her own money to do so. Having learned of nearby towns outside the lost woods, and with few customers in the woods themselves, she ventured out on her own. At first she tried selling individual pumpkins as large as she could make them, but her stubby little arms made that still quite small as far as pumpkin sizes were concerned. Even so, she did manage to make a little bit of profit here and there as she learned to play up her status as a 'cute little girl' and account for the limitations of the Harvest Rings. With practice and traveling to new locations, she refined her money making scheme. Having learned of Pumpkin Soup and it's popularity, as well as the concern various vain Hylian's in the more well-off areas had with their waistlines, she found a way to make the downside to her Harvest Ring created pumpkins into a plus. So it was that Lily Leis' Diet Pumpkin Soup came to be. Still new to the life of a Business Scrub, Lily goes from populated town to populated town selling her product. She has taken to proclaiming herself a member of the Business Scrub Association, and has even made herself a hat akin to the one Business Scrubs seem to always wear. With no sense of ethics or empathy for her customers, she continues to make tweaks and improvements to her scams.
