They can detect the presence of and vague location of other living creatures purely by instinct, particularly those who are dangerous or intent on doing them harm. The range of this sense is roughly five meters, and penetrates all forms of barriers, even those which deflect magic. Started with. Spin Attack - Hyrule Guard, Western Cave Hylians, Eastern Cave/Ruto Hylians - After taking a moment to focus their strength into their weapon, the user spins around once or twice in quick succession with their weapon outstretched, which sends out a potent wave of force in all directions around the user. The length and force of the wave depends on the weapon and the user's reach (e.g., a spear will have a longer wave, and a mace will have a blunt wave while a sword will have a slicing wave). (This technique is technically not racial, and can be later learned by those of different origin or race.) Started with. Mirror Shield -This shield can vary widely in appearance, but always has a mystical and inexplicable reflective coating on the exterior. This coating is capable of perfectly reflecting not only light, but magical projectiles as well, and sending them back at their caster. (Magical projectiles are roughly defined as any projectile produced by a Spell, Skill, Technique, or Magical-field item (not to be confused with Magic-tier item).) - 50 rupees. Mole Mitts - These items appear as regular brown gloves with clawed fingers. When worn, however, they inexplicably give the user an unparalleled proficiency with bare-handed digging. They become capable of even digging a hole with a depth and diameter of their own height in a matter of seconds, assuming moderately soft soil. - 40 rupees. 10 Rupees left over. Height: 5'11" Weight: 164lbs. Equipment: Shell Shield- A dark tan metal shield that fits upon the back of the wielder, as if it was the shell of a turtle. It protects the back of the neck and outward to the shoulders while stopping above the wielder's tailbone. It fits upon his back with two large straps that the arms slip into. Shell Shield Metal Buckler- A single tan metal buckler that fits upon the forearm of the wielder, using two leather straps that secure it tightly to the forearm. At the widest its about 8 inches wide, while at the longest it goes from the middle of his hand to a few inches past his elbows. It is in the shape of a turtle shell, similar to his back shield. Mirror Shield Buckler- A small metal shield with a tan edge that goes around the entire shield. The surface of the shield itself is flat, but the design on the shield itself is similar to a turtle shell. At the widest its about 8 inches wide, while at the longest it goes from the middle of his hand to a few inches past his elbows. It fits upon the forearm of the wielder using two leather straps that secure it tightly. Mole Mitts- This pair of gloves fit upon Jin's hands tightly, the material of the gloves feeling like leather. The fingers of the gloves end in a point and the bottom of the gloves are tight around his wrists. They don't hinder his hand movements, and they slide under his forearm covers as well. Appearance: Jin's body is thin, trained by the warrior ways of the Gerudo, though while most choose to use offensive skills Jin had focused on defensive skills. While always on the defensive, his body not only had taken a beating, but he grew strong and brave. On his cheek Jin has a Y shaped scar from his youth, though its just one of many scars that litter his chest, upper arms, back and legs. His skin is light tan from being in caves or traveling in the desert with his skin completely hidden, though his ears are still pointy and his eyes are still piercing. He has long black hair that he prides himself in, cutting it rarely. At rest appearance. When Jin isn't traveling around or going out hunting for food or moblins, he tends to wear these basic pieces of clothing. On his left ear, Jin wears a single grey hoop earring. Upon his chest he wears a loose white shirt with sleeves that reach his elbows and a very large opening at his neck with a small cut in the middle. For his lower half he wears a pair of simple tan pants with the legs wrapped up to below his knees before tied so they don't fall down. Upon his waist he wears faint green wrap that not only serves to keep his pants up but also warm him a bit more in the colder nights. Traveling appearance without shields and face wrap. However, when he goes out hunting and traveling, he wears several different layers to protect himself not only from the desert heat, but the desert cold at night. Beneath his shirt he wears a skin tight black shirt that stops a bit below the top of his neck, at each wrist, and at his waist. Over it he wears the very same white shirt that he wears at rest, though the ends of the sleeves are pinned down by a pair of dark blue arm wraps which connect to a pair of clawed gloves. He wears a long tan vest that stops at his knees and to keep the vest from flapping all over he wears a single light tan sash at his waist. His pants have been replaced by a pair of black waist and ankle tight pants that keeps the sand off his body. His shoes consist of a pair of brown sandals that are wrapped around his caffs several times to keep them from falling off when he digs. Around his face he wears a tan wrapping that not only keeps sand out of his mouth and nose, but it also covers his hair fully and ends around his neck. He also has a small tan visor with glass over the eyes that he wears when digging to keep the sand out of his eyes. On his back sits a metal shield in the shape of a turtle shell that he wears at all times when he is away from the Eastern Caves. On his left forearm he has a Mirror shield that's the same size as the buckler on his right forearm. The design on the Mirror shield mirrors the turtle shell design of the shield on Jin's back and the buckler on his right forearm. This appearance, as well as his strategy of defense and digging, has named him the nickname Tortoise. Residence: Deep within the Eastern Caves, not to far from the large water source, Jin had found a small cavern, somewhat of an off-shoot of the main caves that the Gerudo found little use for aside from storage. He asked for it for his home, refusing larger caves or houses dug up from parts of the mountains. After getting a wooden wall with a tan sheet as a doorway, Jin put in a single hammock with a soft and thin mattress which he sleeps on. He also has a small glowing crystal which he uses to light up his room. Pet: Sasha the Mini Deku Baba. This small deku baba was found in a small area of the cave in some light. Due to the lack of minerals in the soil and only the occasional bug to munch on, it only grew to be 6 inches tall with a 2 inch wide head. Instead of killing it, Jin took the small plant and put it into small pot and kept it as a plant. Now and then, he'd feed it a small bug or two, to keep it well and a bit of water. Because of this, it doesn't attack Jin, but will still snap its mouth multiple times at other, making a small clicking sound. Jin has named this mini Deku Baba Sasha. When he goes out traveling, he keeps Sasha with him and a small bag that he wraps around his shoulders, the mini deku baba sitting in the top of the bag with its head out. When he goes digging, Jin puts Sasha into the bag and seals it up. He generally keeps the small plant with him for company, rarely having someone to talk to when he rests beneath the sands or at the occasional oasis. Backstory: Jin was born into Ruto before Ganon's forces attacked, and for the first 7 years of his life, as side from dealing with the heat of the desert. Yet he still liked it just fine, often playing in the sand and digging small holes that he would sometimes sit in and then cover with a pieces of sand colored cloth before jumping out and scaring someone. Pretty much, he had a simple and plain life with little worries. A dark shadow was approaching though, and soon his peaceful life would turn into a sandstorm of pain and rage. Ganon's forces struck and they struck hard. Only seven and he was thrust into a slaughter, running for his life, trying to find his parents, and doing anything he could to keep alive. The sands turned red and black that day, and escaping with a few cuts, including the one on his cheek, and several bruises, Jin was able to make his way to the city of Rauru. He had lost his parents that morning, though he still clutched the gift that they had given him close. A pair of strange gloves. These gloves would not only save his life from the forces of Ganon, but shape his future. When the people of Rauru left, Jin stayed and looked through all the different survivors from Ruto, hoping that he would find his family among them. Hoping that they where fine and looking for him too. However, he had stayed too long and constantly seemed to be on the run from the forces of Ganon, much to his horror. No matter how much he ran, the dust cloud that formed from the army seemed to only grow larger and larger while the tracks from the other refugees from Rauru and Ruto became fainter and fainter. Hope was becoming smaller for Jin, and one day, after eating the last of the food he had managed to bring with him he sat down on the sand and after putting on the strange gloves, began to dig. It seemed like the only thing that was familiar to him, and he dug. Jin kept digging until he was several feet below the surface, and within the cool sand, hidden from view, he slept. For a full day he slept, only waking up to everything around him shifting. Digging away from the spot, Jin found an area that seemed safe, just in time to see the tunnel he had been in before collapsing, bringing down a few moblins and burying them alive. Such an event was blamed on the sand worms that often lived in the sands, even though Jin didn't know this. He quickly grabbed what he could from the unconscious moblins and then escaped the area. He had grabbed himself a single shield, one half empty pouch of water, and a single bag of dried meat. He now waited hours for the army to go by, and after things had claimed down, he resurfaced, seeing the army in the distance. Jin followed them, far away enough that if he was seen, he'd have enough time to escape into the sand, but close enough that he didn't lose them in the wake of their progression. Finally, the army reached its destination, and while they had set up camp away from the cave entrance, Jin made his way around the army, right to the doors and begged to be let in. It was only after his face was recognized by one of the other survivors of Ruto that he was allowed in. After he rested for a few days, they began to train him, offering swords or spears or bows to fight, though he choose the shield that he had stolen from the moblin. It was a metal shield, though the metal was weak and after a while of training with it, it broke. He was given a new shield, and he used it, training with it for a few years. It soon became the shield he wears on his right forearm, the buckler a little smaller but with turtle shell designs. He was also given a larger shield for his back, and a buckler sized mirror shield for his left forearm, and using these three shields and his Mole Mitts, began to launch gorilla attacks. From the sands he'd lead a small group that would strike at a corner of a small enemy camp, stealing food and weapons while setting fire to tents before retreating back to the safety of the Caves. His defensive fighting style and the fact that often he would dig to calm himself down, he was given the nickname of Tortoise. Even though the forces of Ganon had retreated from the gates, Jin still trained and fought. At the age of 22, he is beginning to want to see more of the world, though he doesn't wish to leave his new family behind.
