    Height:
    3’2’’

    Weight:
    46 pounds

    Equipment:
Ignis wields a simple staff, composed of a one foot long Fire Rod fused to a two foot long cherry wood pole of almost identical color. The Fire Rod is simple and plain, ending with a darker colored, larger circle upon which a diamond shaped, blood red jewel is attached. The shaft of the staff is worn, covered in scratches and burn marks. Ignis will protect the staff at all costs, having been known for killing men for merely picking up the weapon.

    Appearance:

Ignis’ egg-shaped body is covered from head to toe in a cloak a similar color to his staff. The cloak is essentially a tunic with a hood-like covering for Ignis’ head. The hood completely covers the Deku’s head, save for his topaz eyes, frozen in a perpetual frown, and a narrow slip that his funnel like mouth emerges through. The Deku’s feet are covered by large, thick boots, while his hands are tucked away in thick leather gloves. Other than his mouth, no “skin” is shown by the Deku, leaving most passersby incredibly curious and incredibly puzzled by this Deku. Beneath the cloak, Ignis’ body is badly scarred and charred in multiple places, prominently around his neck and chest. The leaf like hair that adorns the head’s of most Deku is missing on Ignis, effectively leaving him bald. To any who have been lucky enough to catch the Deku without his cloak, it appears that recently Ignis was caught in some kind of devastating blaze, though none have been brave enough to ask.

    Personality:

If there was one word to describe Ignis, it would most likely be unstable. Rather unstable, to be honest. And extremely, extremely pyromaniacal. He is the kind of person that could be laughing at a joke you just told one minute, and then lighting you on fire the next, screaming that he doesn’t appreciate people laughing at his misfortunes. Whether it was the accident, the years he spent alone, or just that something snapped in his mind long ago, any being that deals with Ignis learn quickly that his small size belies the sheer amount of anger held with him, an anger he will readily take out on those that underestimate him. In his twisted little mind however, he is wholly justified in his actions, and he has little room in his heart for remorse. However, this isn’t to say he is completely unsociable. Quite a few have found his personality to their liking, and he is always formable in a fight. Of these allies, the only one that has been able to last by Ignis side is Balder Zane. The two will often travel together for weeks at a time, each going off separately when the needs arise. Balder has been the only ally Ignis hasn’t torched. Yet.

    Residence:
    Ignis is currently nomadic.

    Pet:
    None.

    Backstory:

Ignis was once a normal, content Deku. He had small family, the children all in their mid-twenties. They were a tight nit group, always open and truth with one another. They lived outside of the Deku Palace, happy for the wide open forests and lack of nosy neighbors. Though the family had moved outside the Palace grounds, Ignis still continued his job as a guard of the Palace grounds. It had been his thirty-eighth year as a guard, having just celebrated his fifty-eighth birthday earlier that year. While he lacked the youth the other guards have, Ignis has the spirit and the passion that none could beat.

The day of the fire is something that is still burned into Ignis’ mind, even after the countless years of seclusion and madness. Outside, the light sound of ran could be heard upon the tree leaves, with peals of thunder in the distance. Ignis had just arrived home from his evening shift, ready the burrow into his flower and get some well earned sleep. It had been a long day, and the Deku had barely enough energy to walk. However, just as he was about to turn in, Ignis hear a sound of something, or someone creeping around outside. Ignis knew the forest was home to a whole host of creatures, yet something about this sound didn’t feel right to the Deku. As he turned to grab his sword, a deafening explosion knocked Ignis right off his feet. It was the loudest lightning Ignis had ever heard. As he shook his head, the Deku realized his entire house was suddenly on fire and that a portion of the ceiling had collapsed– right on top of his sleeping family. Ignis rushed forward, desperate to save his family. He knew that the Palace guards would have heard the explosion, but it would be too late by the time they arrived. Try as he might, the Deku had little strength compared to the weight of the wooden ceiling. As well, he had failed to notice the creeping fire that had silently surrounded him. Even now, pieces of his body were beginning to burn and crack, his hair singed. None of that matter right now though. All that mattered was saving his family.

When the Deku Guard finally arrived, all they found was the charred foundation of the house, and what looked to be a badly burned Deku. The fire had stripped off the top layer of bark, and his leaf hair was completely gone. They would have left him for dead had he not still been breathing.

When Ignis finally came to, he was in the most excruciating pain of his life. Every inch of him screamed out in pain, his bark cracking under every movement, every breath. He held his hands up in front of his face. They were charred and disfigured, a mirror look at the rest of his body. The Deku wailed and screamed, begging to die. The medic appeared beside him, startled at Ignis’ outburst. Fast as lightning, Ignis grabbed the medic by the hair, demanding an explanation. The Deku explained what had happened, how they had found Ignis, charred, but still alive, and how there was nothing left of his family to save. This final point froze Ignis, his eyes wide with realization. Then suddenly, he slammed the medics head against the table upon which he lay, knocking the Deku unconscious. He continued to beat the medics face over and over again, until he noticed his hands were singeing the Deku’s hair. Ignis realized he must have absorbed some of the magic from the fire, meaning it wasn’t a natural blaze. And so, with a fire burning in his eyes, Ignis hoisted himself up, leaving the medic smoldering and dying on the floor, and left.

It took Ignis two years to find the mystery arsonist. Over those two years, the once proud soldiers mind deteriorated; haunted by the fate he had escaped. Classic survivor’s guilt. Ignis had tracked the arson to a town outside the Lost Woods, known as Darunia. The “killer,” as Ignis labeled him, was a Thief of the Lost Woods by the name of Ceala. It had been Ceala’s initiation into the guild, proof that he could kill without question, and without detection. The thief had used a bomb for the initial explosion, what Ignis had taken for thunder, and then had followed up with his treasured Fire Rod to engulf the place in flame. As he watched the Hylian, Ignis realized he knew exactly how he was going to deal with Ceala.

That night, Ceala turned in for bed early at the tavern. He had a long ride back tomorrow to the Fortress of Thieves. He had barely closed his eyes when he heard a soft scuttling sound across his floor. As he raised his head groggily, he felt an agonizing pain in his hands. Looking down, he saw that both hands had been nailed into the sides of his bed. As he breathed in the scream, fist caught him right in the jaw. Dazed, the man could do nothing but struggle as the tiny hand reached into his mouth and grabbed hold of his tongue. With a swing of his blade, Ignis hewed the tongue right from the man’s mouth. If Ceala could have screamed, he would have, but the pain was just too great. “I’m in control now. Oh!” Ignis whispered, reaching for the man’s Fire Rod, “What do we have here? A Fire Rod! What an impressive toy!” The Deku stepped back and pointed the rod at the man’s feet. A ball of flame shot forth and blazed to life, burning the sheets as fuel. Ceala struggled and moaned, the fire searing his legs. With mock surprise, the Deku regard the struggling man. “Oh my! It seems you aren’t fire proof either!” Ignis’ face darkened into malice, his mouth curled into a sneer. “I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you’ll be okay.”

The whole tavern burned to the ground as Ignis returned to the forest. With the Fire Rod he took from Ceala, the Deku was in control of fire now. And as he learned that night, he quite enjoyed watching his enemies burn.
    And they would all burn.
    Every one of them.

    Yay, crazy Deku :U

But seriously, he's crazy. But he might enjoy Tent Emberwood's company (Guy's fire using deku). Anyways, I would highly suggest that you get yourself a Goron Tunic for this guy, but other than that, this checks out :V
