Weight: 70 lbs., 31.7 kg. Equipment: Inside of her delivery bag, Hekali often carries ink, a quill and parchment to write both letters to home and personal journal entries. She also possesses a pair of goggles to aid with flying in rough weather. The last thing that she has is an old grappling hook given to her just before she began her journey to the summit of Dragon Roost. It saved her life, so it’s not surprising that she couldn’t part with it even when it became obsolete. Appearance: Hekali is a shorter Rito woman with dark brown (almost black) hair which she keeps in a ponytail at about shoulder length. Her normal clothing includes a simple dark bluish-gray tunic, a leather belt, and a delivery bag, all of which are common Rito attire. She sports a pair of yellow armbands, which, curiously, are mirrored by two bands of the same color on her otherwise light gray wings. Hekali’s skin is a darker pale, similar to that of the other Rito; her eyes are crimson, which is also a typical Rito trait. The woman’s beak is slightly shorter than average, but remains a light, healthy shade of orange. Personality: ‘Curious’ can’t even begin to describe the intense interest that Hekali has in the workings of the world. Especially interested in biology and astronomy, this Rito would (and maybe even will) circumnavigate the entire planet in search of answers to her questions. Whenever she comes into contact with a race that she has never encountered before, the scientist in her really comes out - maybe to excess. Questions, examinations, dissections, you name it- these are all things that come to her mind. In the realm of the heavens, she often spends entire nights without sleeping - and then sleeps the entire next day away. Despite her enthusiastic curiosity, Hekali can be kind and thoughtful when she’s calm. When angry, however, she completely ignores others and often glares at them just for walking in her direction. Hekali always feels terrible about it afterwards. Residence: Hekali owns a small dwelling on Dragon Roost Island. Despite really being a cave, the feathery decorations that she has put up give the one-room home a cozy – if tribal – feeling. Pet: N/A Backstory: While growing up on Dragon Roost Island, Hekali marveled at the small world around her. She studied bomb flowers, seagulls, grass - even rocks, taking careful notes about each and every detail she observed. One of her proudest accomplishments was documenting the phases of the moon. Hekali often dreamed of what lay beyond her home, and always had a new theory about what kinds of creatures could be found across the ocean. Later, just before her journey into Dragon Roost Cavern, Hekali’s parents gifted her with an old grappling hook. While she didn’t think anything of the device at first, it actually saved her life; she leaped onto an unstable platform and barely grappled to safety before it crumbled. Hekali nearly abandoned the effort, but the bellowing of Valoo, who sat just above her, encouraged her to move on. After exhausting each and every resource available to study, Hekali grew restless on Dragon Roost. She looked back to her childhood, and remembered the theories and dreams of what could be; and so, when she was 28, she bid farewell to her island and took flight for mainland Hyrule.
