    Name: Halley Nash

    Age: 18

    Gender: Female

    Race: Hylian (Northern Civilian)

    Class: Defensive Caster/ Healer

    Place of Origin: Hyrule Castle-Town

    PWC: (2/5/1) (+3 to Wisdom, +1 Power)

Abilities: Magic Proficiency (Racial), Rupee Riches (Racial), Rejuvenation (15 minute cool down), Feather Fall, Spark, Fire

Treasures: Rupee (50), Cane of Byrna, Cane of Pacci, Capture Staff

    Height: 5' 9"

    Weight: 142 lbs.

Equipment: Besides her staffs Halley carries little around with her. She generally only carries a pouch filled with bandages and other rudimentary healing paraphernalia. The only other item she carries with her is a small bag of seeds, for Shy.

Appearance: Halley is somewhat tall and thin, standing at 5' 9" and weighing 127 pounds. She has thin chestnut brown hair that reaches between her shoulders. Her eyes are brown as well, but are much darker than her hair; almost black. Her mother once described them as tiny chocolates. Due to many hours spent outdoors Halley is lightly tanned. She was never capable of tanning any darker though, and rarely burns in the sun.

Halley has few outfits, and most of them are similar. She will usually be seen wearing a loose off-white shirt with a deep V-neck, and a brown skirt made of light cloth that hangs to slightly above her knees. Her feet are covered by soft, but thick cloth boots with leather soles. The boots lace from bottom to top, on the front, starting just above her foot. Holding up her skirt is a thick braided belt made of white chords, thats she made herself. Hanging from this belt, on her left hip, is a leather pouch. Spanning her chest, from her left hip to her right shoulder, and passing between her breasts, is a braided cross belt made of the same material as her other one. Hanging from this belt, on her back, is a quiver of sorts holding her various staffs. The quiver starts just below her shoulder, and goes down to the small of her back. The final piece of clothing Halley wears on a regular basis is her floppy, wide brimmed hat. It is made of dark brown cloth, that was at one point stiff, and looks much like a classic wizards hat.

Halley only wears a single piece of jewelry. It is a roughly made heart-shaped pendant, bent into shape using only a single piece of thin, dull wire. The pendant is smaller than the palm of her hand, and hangs high on her chest from a leather chord. She never takes this pendant off, and thus is never seen without it.

Residence: Halley lives with her parents in Hyrule Castle-Town's Residential District. The family home has two bedrooms on the top floor, each with a closet. Halley's room contains a small, but soft bed and a chest of drawers full of clothing. In between the bedrooms is a bathroom. The main floor contains a modest kitchen, with a tub of water, stove, and pantry filled with food, and dinning area, as well as a small sitting room. In the sitting room there are four cushioned chairs, and several stools for one to rest ones feet after a long day work. There is a small fire place in the sitting room, and a family portrait on the wall.

Pet: When Halley became an apprentice healer her mother bought a small baby mouse for her, as a gift. Once let out of the box she brought it home in, the mouse instantly ran up inside Halley's shirt sleeve, and stayed there. She instantly named it Shy. In the following years Shy became much more friendly, but still spends much if his time in Halley's shirt sleeve.

Backstory: Halley was born 18 years ago, at midnight on the third coldest day of the year. She was born at home in Castle-Town, surrounded by faces full of love and excitement. Her mother and father, Keith and Leana Nash, had just recently moved here from Nabooru. They had married the year before and decided to move to the comfort of Castle-Town when Leana found out she was pregnant. Nabooru wasn't the best place to raise a child, they had decided when moving. Keith scrapped together what money he could, and with the help of his mother, bought a small two-story house in the residential district. He quickly found a job as a scribe and book keeper. Keith was employed by a generous Hylian merchant named Gordon, who took pity on the poor family and over-payed Keith. Keith always made sure to do the best work he could for this kind man, earning every rupee he was paid. Leana stayed home to look after the baby. She was a very talented artist and carpenter, so she sold paintings and small wooden furniture, mostly chairs, from her home. The family did well for themselves.

Several months after Halley's third birthday, Ganon attacked Southern Hyrule. Fortunately for Halley's parents, neither were required to join in the war. As a scribe, Keith was made to write about the gallant fighters opposing the Evil Ganon. He was one of many writers commissioned to keep moral in the Towns up, and was barely note worthy at that task. He was used to writing down facts and figures, not stories of heroes and villains. Leana possessed few skills usable in battle, and had a small child to raise, so she was left to her life. Many of their friends and neighbours joined the Guard to fight, should Ganon reach the north, but then the Hero Link ended the horrors.

Halley lived a sheltered life, never having much interest in finding friends or exploring the town. She spent many days in her room reading books on magic. When she was 15 an opportunity arose that her parents would not let her pass up. A Hylian Magus who specialized in the arts of healing had moved into the neighbourhood, and was offering an apprenticeship to one gifted young individual. Halley joined the small crowd of hopefuls outside this Magus' door. She stood shoulder to shoulder with all different races, each knowing a little more than her. A long day of testing and questioning commenced, and by the end of it only three remained. Halley now stood next to a Zora, and a Hylian, both of which were several years older. The Magus stood before them, seeming old and bent under his light blue robe, and had asked of them a final, simple task.

"Go to yonder shelf and bring me a book." All three of the hopefuls had run to the shelf and started looking for the one book that the Magus may really want to see them bring. The Zora grabbed a book of healing spells, and smugly brought it back. The Magus laid it on the table behind him and waited. The Hylian brought him a book of Herbology and Mixology. The Magus set it on the table behind him. Halley stood in awe before the massive shelf of books. She looked and looked for near an hour, while the hopefuls grew increasingly impatient. The Magus watched her the entire time, completely expressionless. Finally, after an hour and a half, the Magus approached her. "Why haven't you picked me a book yet, child?" Halley looked at him nervously, and simply responded.

"None of them really look like a good read, to me." She looked down at her feet, a red tinge filling her face. The Magus had smiled to himself and dismissed the three hopefuls. The next morning there was a knock on the door. Halley was in her room when her mother came upstairs and asked her to come down. Standing on the threshold was the Magus, clad in a bright yellow robe. He smiled upon seeing the girl, and pulled a book out of his sleeve.

"This one is a good read, one of my favorites. I think you will enjoy it." He handed the book to a stunned Halley, and turned to leave, before pausing in the open door. "Oh, and you passed. Come see me tomorrow at noon to begin your training." Halley had smiled wide, her eyes sparkling with joy. The Magus waved a small wave and left. For the next three years Halley would train with this wonderful old hylian, learning the ways of healing and helping others. He became her close friend over those years, and taught her many things. Halley loved this old man like a grandfather, and often invited him over for dinner after their lessons. Keith and Leana welcomed this man into their family, as he had none of his own. His wife had died many years before, and he had never found another, so he had no children of his own. The family grew close to this old hylian, so when he died, shortly before Halley's 18th birthday, the house was filled with sadness. He had gotten sick earlier that year, and had gotten steadily worse ever since. A week before he passed, he graduated Halley from his training.

"You have learned well. I couldn't have asked for a better student." He had entrusted Halley with his three staffs, and told her to use them well. They buried him under a large oak tree in Hyrule Field, a short walk south of the Town. He donated his library to the Castle, but left a few select "good reads" for his apprentice of three years. She remembered his lessons of peace and love, and vowed to never harm another needlessly.

Halley still lives with her parents, and often lends her skills to the Hyrule Guard, usually following training mishaps among the new recruits. Her pet mouse still lives in her sleeve.
