I suppose if I want to be proper I have to credit Darth for this idea, since it was at least partially inspired by his Priestess of Nayru.

About this post: Rather than an ‘official’ guild creation thread, this post is more to see if my rough idea for an Order of Din would pass by the mods and if there would potentially be any interest in PCs for it. I would be interested in heading it if both are the case. Nothing in this thread is set in stone- I am willing to make changes if that makes the Order more passable or attractive.

In other words, I would ask the following:
Mods: Would you give me your thoughts on whether or not I can make this idea work within the setting of Hyrule, and if not possible, are there any changes I could make to change that?
Non-mods: Would you be interested in making a PC as a member of this order, and if no, is there anything I could change to make this more interesting to you?

    Summary:
Alternatively known as the Order of Fire or the Order of Power, the Order of Din worships primarily the Goddess of Power, Fire and Earth. Although they are generally accepted as an official religious order, and their members as priests and priestesses, their activities are a little unusual for religious organisations. Rather than through prayer, they worship through ritual dance and honour their goddess through training of both mind and body.

    Members:
Members of the Order of Din are known as Acolytes, Priests or Priestesses of Din. They are all able-bodied men and women, strong of body as well as of mind, and the order encompasses both strong warriors and great mages, most of whom are aligned with either the Fire or the Earth element.

    Activities:
While some of Din's acolytes perform religious tasks, most find their prowess in combat makes them suitable for unorthodox tasks such as the routing of any monsters that show up in the North, rescue expeditions to the South, military operations and escort missions. However, all are capable of offering spiritual guidance to those of their companions that need it.

    Relation to other deities:
While the Order of Din does not deny the existence nor the greatness of the other two Golden Goddesses, and hold no disdain towards them or their followers, they are convinced that the Goddess of Power is the mightiest of them all, having created the very earth her followers and those of others walk upon, as well as graciously allowing Hyruleans to choose whether or not to worship her above her fellow Golden Goddesses.

Other patron deities such as Valoo, the Great Deku Tree, or Jabu-Jabu, on the other hand, are at best regarded as lesser deities. At worst, they are considered impostors who claim divinity in order to ascertain the loyalty of their designated race. Which end of this spectrum any given Acolyte of Din adheres to is entirely dependent on the Acolyte’s personal preference.

    Meta:
While any given PC could be an Acolyte, Priest or Priestess of Din independent of character, race, PWC orientation or Place of Origin, there are some limitations and quirks to Acolytes that must be observed.

    • An Acolyte of Din may not use any treasures of the [water], [cold] or [wind] fields. These treasures are, to the Order of Din, associated with the Goddesses of Wisdom and Courage, and no Acolyte of Din will be inclined to study or utilize such treasures.
    • An Acolyte of Din must take a Specialty or a sub-specialty in the fields [Fire], [Earth], [Weaponbase], [Fist], or [Music] upon creation or upon enlistment into the order, to represent their dedication to their chosen patron goddess.
    • When an Acolyte of Din uses a [Music] field treasure, its effects are activated through dance rather than through audial means.

Looks good to me, as a mod. There's no need for an official guild creation system atm or anywhere near the m, and everything checks out pretty well. I think it's good you're making an IC community, and this sounds pretty interesting, not only for the background and the details but also for the RP opportunities this will present, both as a guild and as the Order. I would consider joining if, you know, I was into character creation. XD

GET INTO CHARACTER CREATION THEN- *shoots self* In all seriousness though, it was mostly my intention to create an opening for characters and RPs alike, limitations for the sake of flavor aside. Some things like the activities are very rushed and thus rough, but I'll work those out in more detail if/when I get to the actual 'guild thread.'

Idly, is there some sort of guild forum on this site or is demand not high enough to create one?

I've worked up a proper thread for this guild, so this one can be locked and moved to the archives. Thanks in advance.
