The storm has passed, but it is not gone. As predicted, it passed over Dragon Roost Island, then the port town of Impa. The dark clouds fled south then, passing over Death Mountain and finally ending its journey above the Kokiri Forest. But it was not the storm that was predicted. It was not earth shaking, the heavens did not tremor, and whatever catastrophe that had been predicted never happened. All that remained was an eerie sense that the storm had been something more, that it would bring greater destruction than had been imagined.

Sensing that something is amiss, Veran, on a ship following the storm and on its way to Hyrule, instead changes her course to Dragon Roost Island. Upon setting foot upon its sandy beaches, she already knows that something has changed: the ground quakes rhythmically, and though it's nothing more than a minuscule vibration, it feels as if the dormant volcano is beginning to whisper. Finding Medli, Veran sends her to Castle Town with a petition to help Dragon Roost Island. Valoo, too, has sent for heroes across Hyrule, the postmen spreading across both northern and southern Hyrule for aid.

In Impa, General Nihil remains grounded. Though the town itself went unharmed during the storm, several ships had taken severe damage. But the damage does not seem to have been the work of the inclement weather. Burn marks were found at the edges of the gaping holes on the sides of the ships, from explosives that must have been set off during the storm. A search warrant has gone out, for those in the town to find the ones responsible for the damage.

In the Kokiri Forest, a strange fog has not lifted, still remaining from the storm. Moreover, a plague has appeared at the northern edge. It devours any non-sentient plant life it comes into contact with, the fluids from their body drained completely, leaving nothing but a dry husk behind. The forest is quickly becoming nothing but a land of tinder wood. Knowing that this is nothing from the mundane world, the Great Deku Tree has begun to gather forces to find the source of this mysterious disease.
