    Name: Gabrian "Gabby" Tailor
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
    Race: Hylian
    Place of Origin: Western Caves

    PWC: 1/2/4

    Racial Perks:

    Sense (open)
Sense is a defensive trait, and a racial perk for Hylians. As such, a Hylian can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Hylian chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price. Other races acquire this treasure normally.

Those with this ability can automatically detect the presence of and vague location of other living creatures purely by instinct, particularly those who are dangerous or intent on doing the user harm. The range of this sense is roughly five meters (or 15 feet), and penetrates all forms of barriers, even those which deflect magic.

    Business (open)
Business is a utility trait, and a universal racial perk. As such, any character can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. Because this treasure is a universal perk, no character may acquire it after creation.

    Bonus Treasure (open)

Of course, the character must be able to meet any prerequisites of the treasure to be gained.

    Treasures & Techniques:

    Rupees: 10r

    Tailor Lvl. 1 (open)
A tailor is often a spellcaster's best friend. Since a battle mage's power can be weakened if they wear armor, they typically make use of a tailor's fine work to protect them. A tailor can create objects out of hide (such as leather), or many kinds of different threads (such as silk and cotton). Furthermore, magical cloth can be used to protect from heat, cold, and even drowning--a feat metal or wood alone has yet to accomplish. When a tailor consumes a Material, he can craft any one piece of clothing, an entire outfit, a rope, a shield made from hide, or nearly any one object smaller than the tailor which is mostly made from thread or hide.

    Ring of Silence (open)
A Ring of Silence is a defensive magical item. Any sound made by the wearer, or any items the wearer holds, is greatly muffled. All but the loudest of sounds made by the user are practically inaudible in the presence of any background noise. Any object other than the ground that the user touches, but does not hold or wear, will still make noise normally. For instance, a chain held in the user's hand will jingle inaudibly, but tapping that chain into a wall will make noise normally.

    Communal Lens of Truth (open)
A Lens of Truth appears as a purple magnifying glass. Several red markings adorn the glass, making it appear similar to one large eye. When one holds this glass, it enables them to see through all forms of illusion, as well as not being blinded by bright visual flashes, such as those from Deku Nuts.

When activating this effect, the user can mentally designate certain illusions to not be penetrating. The user can gain the Communal augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time.

While the user is benefiting from the Lens of Truth, he or she can provide the same benefit to any creatures he mentally designates within the same general area. The affect creatures cannot control which illusions they do and do not see, unlike the user. The affected beings need not be aware of this effect, and cannot willingly negate it unless they, too, have a Lens of Truth or similar effect.

    Deku Nut Supply (open)
A Deku Nut appears as a brown nut, about the size of a Hylian's fist, with a golden slit running halfway across its exterior. Throwing one against a hard surface (or otherwise impacting it) will cause the nut to explode, and produce a blinding flash which will temporarily blind or stun almost anyone who sees it.

    Height: 5' 11"

    Weight: 120 lbs.

Equipment: Gabby wears a simple tan cloth tunic, with a simple pair of sandal/shoes, and brown cloth pants held up by a coil of rope. For the purpose of his adventure, he also wields a barrel lid with a handle that serves as a makeshift shield, a farming sickle with a hair-splitting edge, a small cooking pot for a helmet, and a crossbow, pilfered from a moblin camp.

Appearance: Besides the above mentioned, Gabby seems colorless, due to a life spent underground. His complexion is slightly darker than most of the western cave Hylians, due to his travels under the sun. His Dark Brown hair is unkempt, but is kept as clean as a cave-dweller can keep it. His blue-grey eyes have a habit of picking up minute traces of light, and reflecting them back, making his eyes seem to sparkle wherever there's light.

Personality: Gabby is a simple farm boy, not accustomed to the stresses of battle. As such, he tends to be rather cowardly, though his strong sense of adventure is usually enough for him to push on anyway. Despite his caring nature, he's somewhat naive, seeing the world as very black and white. Though he'd prefer to hide than fight, he's willing to face his fears to protect those he cares about.

Residence: Gabby lives with his family in the western caves, closest to the overground entrance.

Pet: Gabby's constant companion is a raccoon named Cody. Cody's main purpose is to provide reconnaissance for Gabby. Cody can't speak, but he's good at charades. He has a tendency to go missing, sometimes days at a time, but he always manages to return to Gabby eventually.

Backstory: It was far back in his memory, but Gabby remembered that day, and the images that haunted his dreams for the rest of his life. Not even a boy, he remembered his father carrying him out of their house as it sparked and flared and crashed to the ground around him. Outside, many of the other people, few that he knew, were running out of their own houses, being chased by the men in dark armor, some falling to the ground, all of them screaming and crying. He saw his mother running along side him and his father, and soon the village faded away behind them. He stared at that place that once was his home, watching as the fires engulfed it. Soon darkness closed around him, blocking all the light, and he fell asleep.

Gabby had been two years old then, and now he was seventeen. Back then, he didn't know what had happened, but he knew now. That day was the day that Kakariko Village fell. The Western Caves were his home now, where he lived with his mother, his father, and his fourteen year old sister, Lucy Tailor. They were a farming family mostly, With Gabby and his father keeping a garden near the surface, and Lucy and their mother hunting game above.

Gabby was happy to be a farmer, and he was quite good at the trade, his prized sickle practically glued to his hip. Not to say he couldn’t hunt, he had gone hunting once before, and he showed promise. He couldn’t draw a bow like his mother or Lucy, but he could bait a trap just as well. A shiny bead in a cage had caught him a greedy racoon, perfect for a hat and a meal. The small creature looked up at Gabby with pleading eyes, backed in a corner and whimpering. The sight was enough to break Gabby’s heart. He couldn’t kill a poor creature like this. He opened the cage door, and the grateful beast ran full sprint into the distance.

Gabby returned home, having caught nothing else in any of his traps. He walked slowly, getting his stories together, for letting dinner go free was probably worse than having not caught anything at all. So invested in his thoughts was he, he didn’t notice the savage miniblin rushing towards him until it had knocked him to the ground and had its sharp, tiny hands wrapped around Gabby’s neck. He struggled to pry the imp off of him, but Gabby was only a young boy then, and the miniblin was battle-hardened and hungry. He struggled to breathe, his vision blurring as it kicked and clawed at him. Then, almost as suddenly as it had appeared, the miniblin was gone, and Gabby gasped for air. Turning to look, Gabby found his salvation had appeared in the form of a large mound of fur, hissing and scratching at the miniblin’s eyes. The imp squealed in pain, ripping the animal off its face and tossing it aside before blindly running off. Gabby, after his breath returned, picked up the small raccoon. The little animal had a tear on it’s stomach. Gabby quickly returned to the Caverns with the racoon in tow. It only took about a week for Cody(as Gabby had decided to name him.) to recover, and when he did, he refused to leave Gabby’s side. The two were now sworn friends. Despite the joy of having a new companion, Gabby was still shaking from such a personal encounter with the evil that lived on the surface, and though the other children of the Western Caverns would make fun of him for it, he swore that he would never return to the surface unless it was absolutely necessary.

One such necessity was maintaining the farm. A trading wagon often passed by the Caverns, and it was the duty of Gabby and his sister to negotiate trade with him. It was mutual benefit: The trader would set camp a distance away, as not to draw attention to the caves, and he would trade tools and supplies for produce, which he’d then trade to the desert communities to the east at a profit. However, during the dry seasons, they still needed supplies, but had less to trade, such as they did now. Lucy had in her possession a magic ring. Gabby was never sure how she came by it, as whenever he asked, she always changed her story. Now, however, she was arguing with the trader over the value of the ring, trying to get more out of him for it than was certainly necessary. Gabby sighed, dreading having to carry the load all the way back to the caves. But then something felt wrong. Since the day he had been ambushed by the miniblin, he had developed his natural Hylian sense to detect danger, and right now, it was reacting violently. On instinct, he jumped into one of the trader’s empty barrels. From his hiding spot, Gabby watched in horror as a gang of Bokoblin jumped and raided the wagon. Lucy attempted to run, but she was almost instantly captured and restrained. She struggled, cutting into two of them with her dagger before one Bokoblin took a club to her head, knocking her unconscious. They dragged her off to the north, and Gabby sat cowering in the barrel. He didn't know what to do.

When he felt that everything was safe, he climbed out of the barrel to find the trader holding his knees and weeping. When he saw Gabby, he jumped up in surprise. He apparently had thought Gabby had been kidnapped as well. “You can save your sister!” he exclaimed, rummaging through a chest in the front of the wagon. Before Gabby could protest, the trader pushed what looked like a magnifying glass with strange markings into his hand. “It’s dangerous to go alone,” the trader explained, “so take this! It will help you see through illusions. You’re the only one who can save Lucy!” The realization of the statement flowed through Gabby’s mind, and in a burst of courage, he grabbed the lid off of the nearest barrel. This would be his shield. He grabbed a cooking pot from the back of the wagon and placed it on his head for a helmet and grabbed his sickle from his side. With his makeshift armor and weapons, and Cody hopping to his side, he was ready to set out after his sister. But before he set a foot in front of him, he saw a glistening on the ground in front of him. Lucy's ring. She had dropped it when the Bokoblins had attacked. Slipping it on his little finger, he set off across the southern plains, following the footsteps of the Bokoblin horde.

It had only been a day’s travel from the caves to the Moblin outpost. The journey there was fairly simple, but that was barely half the challenge. There was no chance of Gabby clearing out a small room of Moblins, let alone a whole camp of them. However, Lucy’s ring would make it possible for him to at least sneak inside. With his muffled footsteps, distracting the Moblin guards and sneaking past them was surprisingly easy, as was traversing the rest of the camp. It wasn’t long until he found the cage Lucy was being kept in. When she saw Gabby, she was ecstatic, throwing his arms around him through the bars. She told him that if he could get the keys to the cage, they could escape, and pointed him to where he could find them. The keys were hanging from a simple metal hook on a simple wooden pole, completely unguarded, which struck Gabby as odd. His suspicions were immediately confirmed, for as his foot landed on the seal around the base of the pole, a jolt of electric magic surged through his body. He hit the ground with a thud, just as his vision started to fade into darkness.

When Gabby woke up, he found himself in the same cage as Lucy. He had apparently been unconscious for a little over an hour. When he had stepped on the magical trap and passed out, the Moblins had thrown him in the cage as well, ruining a perfectly good escape attempt. Or so Gabby thought. A barely audible click was heard, and the cage door swung open, Cody hanging onto the lock with key in hand. Lucy pulled Gabby by the wrist as Cody jumped from the cage door onto Gabby’s shoulders. The second jail break had begun. Hiding behind behind a pile of crates, they discussed a plan of escape. Gabby had sneaked out a longbow, a crossbow, and some arrows and bolts from a weapons tent using the ring(and an incredible amount of luck), which they would use to kill the two Bokoblin archers guarding the rear gate. From there, it would be a mad dash back to the Western Caverns. It was the perfect plan in theory, except while Lucy, using the longbow, hit her mark perfectly, it took Gabby three crossbow bolts to hit his, giving the Bokoblin enough time to sound the alarm. They sprinted out the gate, most of the camp hot on their heels. Arrows and boomerangs wizzed around them, some hitting the ground harmlessly, others striking the barrel lid shield on Gabby’s back. If Lucy had not of known her way around the plains, it’s quite possible that the Moblins would have never stopped chasing them.

They arrived back home early the next morning, having traveled the entire night. They were met with family and friends rushing up to them, holding them, crying with joy over their return, and other joyous reactions. Having slept at home for the first time in two days, Gabby didn’t wake up until about noon the following day. Lucy had apparently woken up before him, and told nearly everyone they knew in the caverns of how he had saved her from the depths of a moblin fortress, slaying all the forces of Ganon that stood in his way. It was obviously highly exaggerated, but Gabby honestly didn’t have the energy to correct her story. Plus, being called a hero felt kind of good.

He shouldn’t have been surprised when, only a few days later, a family friend came to him, asking him to deliver a package to their relatives in Northern Hyrule. Gabby wanted to protest, say he couldn’t possibly handle such a journey, but he realized that he didn’t really have much of a choice, things like this were expected of heros, and he kind of liked the thrill of adventure. So he agreed to deliver the letter, and with Cody at his side, and his equipment at hand(Lucy refused to take back her ring, and the trader had long since gone away after providing farm supplies to the family as an apology for letting their children be kidnapped.), he set out across the plains once more, far beyond anywhere he had ever been.

About three days later, Gabby managed to find passage on a cargo ship crossing Hyrule Bay on its way to Impa. He didn’t have much in the way of passage fare, so he ended up joining the crew, offering services as a tailor in exchange. It wasn’t a lie, he knew how to sew from patching up burlap sacks back home. The voyage only took about a week, in which time Gabby must have sewn everyone’s shirt on the ship twice, and Cody suffered from crippling seasickness. From Impa, it took two days by wagon to reach Castle Town. When he arrived, Gabby stood in awe, just taking in the city around him. People in fine dress seemingly danced across the town, and the sight of the castle in the distance was almost too much for a young farm boy to take in. He eventually pulled himself together and found the house he needed to deliver the package to. They thanked him for making the journey just for them, and they paid him a larger sum of rupees than he had ever seen in his life.(which honestly wasn’t much to begin with.) He spent the rest of the day exploring the town, having a fine meal, buying a few souvenirs for his family and friends back home, and just over-all enjoying himself. The family he had made the delivery to allowed him to stay the night with them, and in the morning, they saw him off. Gabby wasn’t quite sure what to do at this point. He wanted to return home, but at the same time, he had the overwhelming urge to explore this strange new land. For all extents and purposes, the world was his oyster. All he had to do now was decide how to use it.

(I hope you don't mind me remaking him. It's been almost 3 years now.)

Well, the Treasures add up. Good good.

The character is very, well: "His blue-grey eyes have a habit of picking up minute traces of light, and reflecting them back, making his eyes seem to sparkle wherever there's light."

    But I like it.

Unless someone else has a problem with it though, it doesn't really hurt much (and I've made much worse) so I'd say passed.
