    Appearance: Variable: Can be a literal pair of flippers worn on the feet, or can be any other manifestation such as a particular marking on the skin, a pendant or brooch, etc etc. Treasure is more an augmentation of a character's abilities more than it is a physical object.

    Effect Type: Passive

    Effect Description: A character with the flippers treasure has the remarkable strength and endurance to swim and remain afloat in water indefinitely, regardless of the weight of any gear he might be carrying, and regardless of the roughness and conditions of the surface of the water. The user does not become buoyant, however. At any time, the user may allow himself to sink as he wishes. Flippers merely grants the ability to tread water while bearing even extreme weight.

    With flippers, even a knight clad in full steel plate could swim across a river with ease.

    Limitations: The effect of weight negation applies only to items and equipment worn on the individual's person or kept in his inventory. This includes any clothes or armor, weapons, satchels, backpacks, etc. This also applies to any items kept in a character's adventure pouch.

    Flippers do not aid a swimmer in carrying a large, heavy object which is not, and perhaps cannot be stored away. So, flippers would not allow a character to carry, say, a heavy boulder while swimming. If the boulder could somehow fit into that character's inventory, he would be able to swim comfortably.
