First Quest [Closed]

    Name: First Quest (Yes, it does reference the first Zelda's 'first quest' level 1. Seemed appropriate for the first quest of HC :D )

    Description:
    Sightings of monsters have been heard of in a specific location in the Northern Hyrule Fields near Hyrule Castle and Lon Lon Ranch. Rumors tell of a massive old gnarled tree that has long been subject to rumors and superstition due to its general creepy appearance and the way it seems to have a face that laughs and mocks you. It sticks out like a sore thumb and the more superstitious believe it is the cause of odd things happening in the area. Disappearances, thefts, and caravans found inexplicably destroyed where monsters were thought to be gone.

    Rumors of treasure, monsters, and more all surround the legend of this tree and with the recent disturbances, it has become one of the popular topics for adventurers everywhere. The quest is about hearing of the quest, getting to the gnarled tree, meeting anyone else who is also going, and exploring the mystery surrounding this horrific tree and finding out why there are monsters so far from Ganon's territory.

    Players and Characters:
    Zajora Arcanum - Adad64
    Tent Emberwood - Guy (I think)
    Filan Maliran - The Janitor

    Rewards: The reward is the standard 40 rupees per person, 10 rupees per character described in the Quests & Rewards thread. Boomerangs can be recovered from certain enemies in place of the standard reward should anyone desire one. In more specific terms:
    Fire Rod - (Guy)
    Thunder (-25 rupees) - (Adad64)
    50 rupees - unless he'd like a boomerang too. (The Janitor)

    We don't have a set quest application, so I invented this. It covers the basics, if anyone wants me to change it I can. Also anyone who wants to can join the thread at any time.

    I'm changing Tent's reward to Din's Burst (learned from Zajora) for 30r, plus 20 plain rupees which I guess were looted from the Wizzrobes. Or something.

    Uuuuh. I guess this checks out...? The ending, as you guys can imagine is rather... awkward. We should have a contingency plan for when people in a thread haven't posted, and at least one person wants to just skip/move on. What we could do is split the thread, as if there were two separate timelines. For example, Tent + Zajora + Filion enter the dungeon together. Somewhere along the line, Adad/Janitor go inactive, but Guy wants to finish the quest. A separate thread could be made with just Guy where he could complete the quest by himself, leaving the original thread with just Adad/Janitor. We could explain this in context by a party being separated for some reason; for example, the three characters are walking along in a cave, when suddenly Tent falls into a hole. This is where the second thread could be created, and Guy could continue from where he left off, when Tent lands at the bottom of the hole. Adad/Janitor could continue their quest at their discretion in the first thread.

    However, since we don't have a system up for this yet, I suppose I have to give you guys your rewards nonetheless. Quality was alright overall, and Janitor seems to be learning (although, as Guy said, Filion should only be able to know what he has seen himself or what he has heard from other characters, not what they are thinking.) Adad, your writing has improved a lot since the last time I saw you RP, so good job there. Guy, nothing much to say, except the odd ending, haha.

    ...well, I guess that's over with. I might do a post explaining what happened to Filon, but the award would be the 50 rupees.

    It's an alright ending. I'm sorry I couldn't get on and post something. There were...problems at school. -_-
