    Name: Darukara

    Age: 20

    Gender: Male

    Race: Goron

    Place of Origin: refugee

    PWC: 5/1/2

    Treasures:

40 Rupees, Land drawn vehicle: After the attack, Darukara was left wondering the eastern mountains of Hyrule on foot. It was here he met a dodongo. Originally expecting to be attacked, Darukara was shocked to see it approach him. It continued to stay near Darukara’s area, happily eating the remains of animals Darukara hunted for it to survive. Over the next few days, Darukara bonded with the unusual creature. Eventually he named it Drake, after an old friend. Upon reaching Mido, Darukara managed to save up enough money to buy a carriage to be pulled by Drake.

40 Rupees, Cannon: Although most of his possessions were destroyed in the attack, Jack did manage to save his cannon, which he dragged through the mountains with him for days, despite it having little purpose, he kept it, if not only for memory of his old life on the sea. Upon gaining his carriage, he mounted the cannon on the back of the carriage. It still serves little purpose, but Darukara holds on to the belief that it will save his life once more, as it did a year ago.

    Height: 7’00”

    Weight: 690lb

Equipment: In the attack, Darukara lost almost all of his possessions, salvaging only his cannon and a magnificent, huge greatsword. Managing to drag the cannon with him for miles, Darukara made his way back from the small hideout to civilization. While making his way back, Darukara picked up his dodongo friend, Drake. Realizing he would need to hunt actual food for Drake, rather than just rocks, he crafted a crude bow and arrows. Although he is not particularly skilled with them, he can use them well enough to serve him well in fighting, and since then caries a quiver with arrows along with him at all times.

Appearance: Large and imposing, Darukara is thin and muscular compared to most gorons. This is due to his life on the seas preventing him from having unlimited access to food on long voyages. Darukara has a scar diagonally, though more vertical than horizontal, reaching down the right side of his head, which was carved by one of his attackers a year ago. His hands are smaller and more flexible than the average goron, allowing him to perform more delicate tasks with his hands, such as shooting an arrow, more easily. Though he wears little clothing, as most gorons tend to do, he does wear a belt which he hooks his quiver, bow, and sword.

Personality: Darukara once had a carefree, relaxed personality, but since the attack he has become much more solemn since the attack. He now talks little and rarely approaches someone unless approached first. One would comment on his startlingly drastic change of personality, if anyone who knew well enough to say so was still alive. His sense of humor has completely evaporated from his body, as if it were never there to begin with. Gravely serious, those who he speaks with often find this unnerving, but none would dare say anything about it in his presence.

Residence: Darukara has owned a small, barely furnished house in Mido for a little under 3 months. He was able to pay for a very cheap house after about 9 months of work, and despite only using it for sleep, he considers it a home. Mostly empty, Darukara has a large bed against the wall, and a space in the corner where he keeps his cannon when it’s not in use.

Drake: Drake is a large dodongo in charge of pulling Darukara’s wagon. The dodongo had been fed by a family of other gorons in Darunia before meeting Darukara and had learned to associate their kind with food, hence why he did not attack Darukara. Darukara eventually took it upon himself to try to hunt for the dodongo, and so it followed him. As it became used to him, the dodongo began to bond with Darukara, and he eventually adopted it as a friend and named it Drake, after an old friend.

Backstory: When Darukara was a young boy, Ganon attacked his home of Goron City. While his family ran, they were attacked by a group of Ganon’s monsters. Both of his parents were killed. Scared and confused, he was helped by another family of gorons who promised to bring him with them to Hyrule Castle Town. Agreeing to the plan. Darukara agreed and was aided by the family, as they had promised. A few days away from the village however, the family left him, citing the reason as not being able to spare supplies for him anymore. Alone once again, Darukara was forced to wonder lost, trying to find it.

In his wondering, Darukara was attacked by monsters. He tried to fight back, but failed. As everything went dark, Darukara heard a shout, and then, nothing. He woke up in a cave somewhere. Looking around, he saw a large ship in the water by the cave. Suddenly a man approached him. The man introduced himself as Captain Drake Farguson, and explained that he had seen him being attacked and saved him. Upon questioning Drake more, Darukara found that he was actually the captain of a small, but skilled group of pirates. The man had a powerful, but at the same time caring voice, and something about this soothed Darukara. Deciding he could trust the man, Darukara poured out his whole story to Drake.

Drake listened to the story intently, and upon hearing the end, offered him a home in his crew. Darukara still remembered his words perfectly. “So, you have no place to stay? Well that aint good, is it? I’ll tell you what, you can stay with us. But, if you can’t pull your own weight, you’re out of the crew.” Darukara promptly took a job working with demolition and explosives, working especially hard on the cannons, his favorite piece of equipment.

Darukara eventually became as trusted a member of the crew as any other, despite the awkward problem of being a goron always working near water. Darukara also came to see Drake as a father figure, ignoring the difference between races. Darukara had finally found a home where one would expect a goron to be least comfortable, the sea. That all changed 16 A.G.

Ganons forces had been given trouble by Drake’s pirates for a while, and they finally planned to get back at them. One fateful night, they had just gotten back from a long voyage, and it was the dead of night. The ship was docked in a hidden base, the same cove where Darukara had been brought to by Drake years ago. Darukara awoke to the smell of smoke. Was this… fire? Darukara grabbed his sword and ran out. There were flames everywhere, and water was pouring into the bottom of the ship. Screaming could be heard from above.

Darukara ran up the stairs and tried to open the door, but it was locked. Darukara, in a moment of brightness, ran back to his room, and brought his favorite cannon. Pulling the rope to fire it, Darukara blew a hole through the door. From there he was able to use his hands to push wood out of the way and escape through the hole. Despite its weight, Darukara decided to bring the cannon with him, in case a similar situation appeared again.

Upon reaching the deck, Darukara heard nothing but shouting, and the clashing of weapons. Amidst the fighting, he heard a voice shouting his name. Whirling around, he just managed to dodge an attack from a moblin and cut it down with his sword. From there he looked for the source of the voice, and found it. Darukara walked over to Drake, though if he hadn’t had his cannon, he would have ran, for the situation was grave. Drake was fighting off three moblins at once. He loaded his cannon and aimed, but then hesitated and changed his mind, for fear of hurting Drake.

The moblins sighted him, and one ran for him, with difficulty Darukara managed to fight it off, but not without receiving a large gash across his face, which would later scar. Darukara continued towards Drake when Drake yelled to him to leave. Darukara refused at first, but was forced to oblige when Drake ordered it as his captain. In the cloak of the darkness, Darukara escaped the ship, and left the cave.

Despite his experience at sea, Darukara still didn’t know the land very well, and was left to wonder for a week before finally coming across another traveler. The traveler gave Drake directions to the nearest village, Mido. Darukara followed the traveler’s instructions, and found himself at Mido after a few more days. Realizing he had no place to stay, Darukara got a job working manual labor, which, while boring, was enough to earn him money to rent a house. He used the money to buy a carriage which he mounted his cannon on and was pulled by Drake. After 7 more months he had saved enough money to move out of his rented home and by his own home.
