So, this was my timeline from before the official translation of Hyrule Historia came out. It will be interesting to see how ALttP2 and ZeldaU change the timeline. But I figured that I would share. :P

I also want to state, I have never played MC or any of the FS games. So I can't include them in my timeline with good conscience. So here we go. It's actually going to be different than HH, and similar to what my timeline was before TP came out. I will give analysis afterwards.

SS-->OoT-->MM-->TP-->ALttP-->LA-->OoX

SS-->OoT-->WW-->PH-->ST-->LoZ-->AoL

Now I know this timeline has a lot of flaws, and there is tons of conjecture on my part, but let me preface my logic, first with the CT.

I view ALttP has to be in the CT because Hyrule is still intact in its glory. Sometime after TP, the ToP re-activates itself. I've never held to the theory that Ganondorf is dead and still don't. He is able to claim the last two triforce parts, the Imprisoning War commences, and he is sealed by HUMAN incarnations of the sages. Their descendants, as seen in ALttP, are used to try to break the seal that has been cast upon what was the Sacred Realm, now the Dark World, and Hyrule.

ALttP has to be last in the series, at least the whole "Triforce" arc, because Ganon possesses the entire Triforce and is completely destroyed in the end, according to the Essence of the Triforce. Link then wields the Triforce, makes a wish/says a prayer like in SS, and all is well.

I place LA after ALttP because I have always viewed it as a sequel. If the game is a result of Link's dreams, it makes sense. I started playing it again and the first boss is the same as the third boss in ALttP. During the final battle, one of the forms you fights is a shadow version of Ganon. It all just makes too much sense in my mind.

OoX takes place after LA because the Triforce is completely intact in Hyrule. Again, simple logic.

Now we move to the AT. Everything is pretty obvious...until we get to LoZ/AoL. Really, these games don't really have a place at all. It's extremely difficult to place. The Triforce isn't intact, so it can't take place before ALttP, and it doesn't make sense with ALttP's backstory. Again, I view ALttP to be the last game in the entire Triforce arc, and after Ganon is completely destroyed, according to the Essence of the Triforce, I cannot possibly place it after, even if could be revived. If he were revived, it would have to take place a very long time after ALttP, because Hyrule is so vastly different. So it's possible the two take place after ALttP, but I just don't like it thematically; it cheapens things. Plus, in OoX the Triforce is still complete and resides within Hyrule Castle. It makes no sense to put LoZ or AoL after ALttP.

The only problem with this placement is the "Legend of Zelda" in AoL. The Great Sea would have needed to recede to some extent for this to be possible. I still view that Ganon is not dead after WW, and if one pulls the sword out of his head, one worthy, perhaps to fight a greater threat, Ganon would rise again. The Triforce doesn't just not exist anymore; in LoZ he lead an army to take the ToP, and Zelda splits up the ToW to hide it from Ganon. Link defeats Ganon, he is obliterated. So he is gone in both timelines.

There's also the fact that Ganon in OoX looks a lot like Ganon in ALttP, although is a mindless beast.

So that is my best to try to fit everything together into two timelines without the downfall timeline. The biggest problem is AoL, and the "first" Zelda who is sleeping (not really the first Zelda we now know). Hyrule at this time isn't much of a kingdom anymore and is weak, much different than we see in ALttP, OoT, and TP. In both LoZ and AoL.

So. That's my timeline for now. It is a work in progress though. I hope to have some constructive criticism, and some assistance actually to try to fit these missing pieces together. I used to subscribe to a single timeline theory, and that the Triforce "left" Link when he left for Termina, and perhaps time passed differently in Termina and that when he returned to Hyrule it was in fact hundreds of years later. That's not the case, but it was an interesting theory. There has to be one split. But I refuse to prescribe to two splits.
