This blade, known as the Faust Sword, is a finely crafted longsword measuring about 3'6". It has a cruciform hilt with a bronze-plated pummel and cross-guard, with a leather-wrapped handle and a piece of obsidian glass in the center of the pommel. The bronze layer on the hilt is also inlaid with gold. The steel blade of the Faust Sword is well polished, finely made steel that can hold a very sharp edge. His shield and armor are also family heirlooms. The shield, known very creatively as the Faust Shield, is a steel plated shield with a wooden core. However most of the integrity of the shield comes from thick, resilient steel plating. The shield is about three feet tall and a little more than 1'6" wide. The border is of polished steel, with a cross of black-painted steel running through the center of the shield face anchored at each border. In the center of the cross is the face of a wolf in polished silver. This wolf has its from claws grasping onto what appears to be a golden hawk of sorts, and the wolf's head, facing out along the shield face's z-axis, has its mouth slightly open, bearing its teeth and slobbering jaws. The upper half of the shield displays two bat-like wings that appear to be coming from the wolf's back. The bottom of the shield shows the wolf's two rear paws flared out, and hairs from its tail can be seen coming from "behind" the black cross. The background to all of this is red-painted steel. Damien's Faust Armor is the last bit of family relics he has in his possession. The armor amounts to a finely crafted shirt of steel mail, reaching down to mid-thigh level with full sleeves. In addition, the armor includes a fauld of steel plate, providing two segmented pieces of armor hanging on the sides of his waist, as well as another piece of flexible steel plate covering the rear of his pants (best I could do). He wears steel pauldrons for shoulder protection, as well as a full, steel cuiraiss including a breast and back plate. The breast plate displays a similar family coat-of-arms to the shield face. His armor, while well-crafted, is a bit old nowadays, and is now more of a grey than polished shine. Appearance: Damien is a madly tall person, to be sure. His large stature, combined with his stern visage can be an intimidating sight. In contrast to his dark armor, Damien has rather light blond shoulder-length hair and odd, yet piercing grey eyes. Aside from his armor, Damien wears dark, almost black leggings and leather boots, as well as a long, flowing, dark-grey cloak with a crimson lining. In addition, Damien wears dark, black leather gloves. Personality: In concert with his dark attire, Damien is a rather dark person. Not to say that he is at all negative. Quite the opposite, in fact. He is simply stern and stoic, giving the appearance of one who is nothing but glum. Though, he has some reason to be a little glum, given his dark past. Still, he is mostly stoic and difficult to get to emotionally. However, it is possible to interpret his emotions, and he does verbally show anger when provoked. Residence: Faust Manor, Nabooru Faust Manor is, by now, slightly run-down. Sitting atop a hill near the wealthy town, Faust Manor is one of the finest houses in the area. This once lavish dwelling has become a rather haunting locale in recent days, being nothing more than a memory of the former reputation of the Faust family. Also, though it is technically Damien's residence, he has not been there for some time, and so, in its current state, it is more like the ruins of what was, formerly, Faust Manor. Pet: N/A Backstory: Damien Aurelius Faust was born into a wealthy family as the son of Adrian Maximilian Faust and Olivia Faust. The Faust family was one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in Nabooru, and had a very good reputation. However, almost 20 years ago, Damien's mother was branded as a witch in a plot by a jealous citizen of Nabooru. In the end, she was burned by the angry townspeople, and Damien's father fell into a reconcilable state of sorrow and rage. Damien was also heavily distraught, but, one night, he saw his mother come to him in a dream. She told him to forgive the people of Nabooru, and love his fellow man all the same. He tried to tell his father of this dream, but Adrian would not hear it. Over the years, his anger grew more and more ferocious. He fell into corruption for some time, and then, fifteen years ago, Ganon, the great King of Evil, began his invasion of nearby Southern Hyrule. Adrian, in blind fury, saw that he could bring himself into the Dark Lord's good graces. As the war began in the south, Faust called upon Ganon in secret. Ganon, hearing a possible follower call out to him, sent a messenger in the night. The creature appeared before Adrian, and the two struck a deal. Faust offered his soul and devotion to Ganon in exchange for greater wealth and immense power. This he was granted, and Adrian Faust became a close servant of Ganon in the north, beginning to spread darkness to Northern Hyrule. First, he took his revenge on Nabooru, or at least tried to. However, Damien saw the plight of the people of Nabooru and the uselessness of his father's rage. Being the one person in all of Hyrule his father would not recklessly destroy in pursuit of revenge, Damien set out to stop his father before any harm could be done to Hyrule. He sought help from another, a man named Otto von Arnhem (father of Wilhelm von Arnhem), who was a soldier of Kakariko that happened to be in the area. This man wielded a weapon that was said to be able to break Adrian's new-found dark powers: the Strandräuber whip. Damien convinced Otto to delay returning to Kakariko for just long enough to destroy Adrian, and the two battled their way into a dark, demented Faust Manor. Aided by Otto and his mysterious whip, Damien confronted his father, who found himself hesitant to destroy his own, beloved son. Remembering love, Adrian grew weak, and in this moment of opportunity, Damien struck the final blow. Therefore, in the opening days of the war in the south, a war in the north was prevented with some reparable damage to Nabooru. Otto then made haste to Kakariko as Ganon's minions descended upon the town. Passing the Strandräuber on to his son, Wilhelm, Otto joined the battle and fought valiantly until death, while his son hid away with refugees in the Western Caves. However, Damien was grief stricken at his patricide, and cast himself out of Nabooru to live in the nearby forests for fifteen years. During the battle, as Damien struck the final blow against his father, Ganon's dark power passed a fragment of itself to Damien, giving him a small amount of demonic power dwelling within. Damien considered himself, and his whole bloodline, cursed by Ganon, and hid away in exile. However, now, he feels a familiar power growing in Hyrule. Fearful that his father might be returning, his rage not yet extinguished, Damien has awakened and returned to Faust Manor briefly to gather supplies for the journey ahead. While the power of his father's spirit still feels weak and vague, Damien is determined to find and destroy any evils in Hyrule that could house and nurture his father's dark magic, and should Adrian Faust return, Damien is decided on being able to stand in his way...
