    Name: Ciska, the Dragon Slayer

    Race: Rito

    Age: 23

    Gender: Female

Place of Origin: Dragon Roost Island

    PWC: 3/1/3
    Power: ***
    Wisdom: *
    Courage: ***

    Treasures:
    Roc's Feather
    Winged Flight
    Helm Splitter
    Plummeting Blade

    Rupees: 0

    Profession: Monster Ethologist, level 2

Equipment: Ciska carries a brown satchel bag that rests around her waist. Inside it are several encyclopedias and bestiaries based on the many monsters and fiends that populate Hyrule. She also keeps a blue leather writing journal, a feathered pen, and large round pair of glasses that were custom made to fit over Rito beaks. The only weapon she carries with her is a long forked bident with a silver bladed edge that stays strapped to her back while not in use.

For protection, she wears a specially crafted royal purple and blue breastplate that is decorated with ornate wyvern-like designs, and built specifically for Rito warriors. The armor is also very light, and was built with a downward slope towards the navel to prevent drag during flight. As it is a breastplate, it only covers the front portion of her body. In order to lessen the weight of the armor, her backplate is purposefully missing, leaving it completely exposed. To compensate, she wears a black leather tunic underneath her armor that reaches up like a turtleneck, and a semi-sheer blue shawl to drape down her back and make her vulnerability appear less visible.

Below that, she wears a plain leather belt to hold up a black pair of slacks, as well as a wide loin cloth with traditional Rito designs sewn on to hang below it. Finally, adorning her arms and hands are a pair of dark brown leather bracers.

    Pet: N/A

Appearance: Ciska has a very traditional and modest appearance. Like most Rito, she has smooth brown skin that's heavily contrasted by her long, white hair. Beyond the short bangs covering her forehead, her hair is tied up into a single, long, three-strand braided ponytail that hangs down her back, stopping just below her waist. Her bright green eyes seem to light up in delight with every new discovery, and her short, curved beak sits below them.

The long feathers that hang off her arms are brown with white mottled tips. While in flight, you may notice more speckles of white sprinkled throughout her large wings, with the lower plumage also being white. Though she stands at 5’6, She carries herself with a surprisingly fit body. Slender and lean, perfect for flying, while still muscular enough to carry herself and her armor over long distances. Her body is just as important a tool as her brain, after all.

The only noticeable accessories she wears are a pair of wide, circular glasses that sit over her beak, and a large silver hairpin that’s shaped like a dragon’s wing, which always stays clipped directly above her right ear.

Personality: Ciska is a surprisingly lively and energetic person. With her sights focused ahead, she's always on the move to her next big discovery. If she doesn't have anything to actively stimulate her mind or body, she'll often become very anxious and fidgety. This may cause her to appear as a flighty or impatient individual to the average person, but nothing could be further from the truth. As someone who constantly has her mind set in motion, standing still can often be a hard feat to accomplish.

She is always very focused on her work. After finding a creature or subject that really piques her interest, she has a tendency of becoming totally engrossed in that subject. Often, she becomes so consumed by her research that she tunes out her surroundings. Sometimes even forgetting to eat, or sleep. She is a researcher after all, and the prospect of new discovery excites her to no end.

Her fast and energetic demeanor is also easily observed through her unique fighting style. She never stands still in one place for longer than a few moments. She's constantly on the move, always circling her opponent and studying them for any possible weak point to strike. This made the spear her obvious weapon of choice. While swords and hand-axes may traditionally be swifter to swing, or stronger to strike, neither of them pack the same range and versatility as the pole-arm. With her trusty bident in hand, she is able to trip her opponent's, jab them from afar, or pin them between the pointed spear heads. Most commonly though, she uses it to help assist in vaulting in and out of danger with ease. Whether it's leaping over her enemies with the helm splitter, or crashing down with plummeting blade. With the aid of her Roc's Feather, her jumps are always deadly.

Socially, Ciska loves being around people and observing their different cultures and lifestyles. She’s naturally inquisitive, so she has a tendency of bothering people with her many prying questions. Unfortunately, Ciska’s prowess at reading social cues isn't nearly as advanced as her normal reading skills. Things like sarcasm, flirtations and innuendos typically go right over the girl’s head, and her lack of ‘street smarts’ often causes her to come off seeming a bit gullible. In spite of this, she’s still almost always eager to help those in need. So long as it doesn't take her too far away from her research.

Background: Ciska was your average, curious child. She was always energetic and bubbly, very social, and constantly got herself into trouble for poking her beak where it didn’t belong. She was the very last kid you would probably expect who's favorite activity would be reading. She wasn't interested in children's fairytales or adventure books either. No, her favorite books were the bestiaries and encyclopedias that adorned her mother’s library. Books written about the REAL monsters and beasts that lived in the far western lands of Hyrule. These tomes fascinated her young mind. How was it possible for fantastical creatures like these to even exist? Of course Dragon Roost was native to its own fair share of monsters, but the ChuChu’s and Keese that lurked in Valoo’s cavern couldn’t hold a candle to anything as spectacular sounding as King Dodongo.

She was just eight years old when word of Ganon's atrocities reached Dragon Roost. The evil king's demonic beasts finally overtook the Goron City, but what was most shocking to her, was that he was aided by a dragon named Volvagia. Being born on Dragon Roost, she was raised to believe that all dragons were supposed to be kind, and great protectors. Benevolent and mighty creatures that were to be respected and revered like the great guardian Valoo. To know now that there were other dragons that still exist? That they were dark and ferocious fiends? True monsters? It changed everything. In the coming years, she researched information about dragons almost exclusively. This of course became easier and easier as more of these beasts started appearing.

The Hidden Serpent, Barba. The Twilit Dragon, Argorok. The Horned Titan, Aquamentus. Everywhere in Hyrule, it seemed as though there were new stories of dragons appearing almost every day. Soon Ciska understood her calling. No longer will she sit idly by as these fearsome creatures terrorize the world and tarnished Valoo's name. She would take her knowledge, and her father’s spear, and put an end to these monsters once and for all.

Seems legit. I rather like her backstory and profession, having not seen that before.

It's a trifle, but, 5'3" doesn't seem like it'd be the "average height" for a Rito. Most of the adult Rito in The Wind Waker were taller than adult Hylians in the same game. But anyway...

Accepted! *ker-stamp* Took you over two years, man, but I'm glad it happened.

Just made some small edits. Cleaned up a few typos, added a residency, gave her a sarashi to wear under her armor, and increased her height by 2 inches.

Hey there! I'm coming back, so I figured a return to the RP warranted an update to my character's profile. x) I didn't change all that much, just made the writing flow better, changed some personality aspects, updated her armor's appearance, and adjusted her height. (Again, apparently. o_o)
