    Name:
    C'hale the Wild

    Age:
    19

    Gender:
    Male

    Race:
    Northern Hylian

    Place of Origin:
    Hyrule Castle-Town

    PWC:
    Power: *
    Wisdom: *****
    Courage: **
    (1/5/2)

    Abilities:
Magic Profiency - Civilian Hylians - Due to how common a pastime it is Hylians of Castle-Town to practice magic, they've been able to pick up a few things others may not have. A Northern Hylian with 2 Wisdom will have an additional 10 special rupees to spend on any Wisdom-based treasure, alongside the regular treasures they have upon creation. A Northern Hylian with 3 Wisdom will gain an additional 20 special rupees; one with 4 Wisdom will gain an additional 35; and one with 5 Wisdom will gain an additional 50. These special Wisdom rupees can only be spent at the character's creation, and can only be used to obtain Wisdom-based treasures. If any are not used, then they will simply be wasted.

Rupee Riches - Civilian Hylians, Darunian Hylians - Due to their status as nobility and upper-class citizens, or due to their proficiency as thieves, these Hylians gain an additional 50 rupees at creation only. These rupees cannot be used to purchase treasures at creation, however.

Din's Burst - The user stands still and concentrates, forming a glowing orange-red point in space in front of them. The point then shoots forward at a steadily increasing velocity, with its exact trajectory determinable by the user. At about sixty feet (twenty meters) the point will explode in a burst of violent flames of size equivalent to the user's body mass. They can at any point cause the point to explode earlier by breaking concentration.

Feather Fall - After momentarily projecting the user's magical powers below them, they are capable of slowing down their descent to a fourth of its regular acceleration and velocity. The spell can be cast on the user or any other individuals within their range of vision simultaneously.

Fire - The user swings or thrusts forward a weapon or other instrument, and unleashed from its tip is a small and compact orb of fire comparable in size to a Goron's fist, which shoots forward with velocity comparable to a fastball and force comparable to a strong punch. This ball of fire inflames a portion of its target on impact, then immediately vanishes. The projectile can reach up to thirty feet before dissipating, and can be fired only once every thirty seconds. Its effect is almost identical to that of the Fire Rod item. The ball of fire can be fired from the palm or mouth, rather than from an instrument.

Spark - With a snap of the caster's fingers, a small and controlled fire will appear just above their index finger's tip. This flame is akin to candle light, and is completely mundane in all ways other than that it will not burn the caster's hands. The flame will continue to hover above the user's fingertip until it is extinguished, or comes into direct contact with any part of either of the caster's hands, at which point it will vanish behind a soft trail of smoke.

    Treasures:
    Rupee - 55

Cane of Somaria - A red cane with a rounded tip, about two feet in length. By pouring one's raw magic power into the cane and swinging it, a large granite cube with a meter (~three feet) in width, height, and depth will appear at the apex of the swing in a sudden poof of smoke. Swinging the rod again will cause the block to vanish, in the process shooting a Fire spell in a trajectory adjacent to each of the cube's six sides. (Alternatively, Din's Burst can be fired if the user knows it, causing a fiery explosion immediately when the block vanishes.) The spell can damage the user as well as anyone else in the area.

    Height:
    6' 2"

    Weight:
    170 lbs.

    Equipment:
C'hale used to be a pack rat, but in the last couple years was forced to sell most of his possessions to feed his habit. A few items are too sentimental or useful to sell, though, and he keeps these on his person nearly all the time.

The first item C'hale would not sell is his staff. It is a six foot tall shaft of hard wood. The shaft is perfectly straight, and is completely devoid of knots or twists in the grain. This staff has been discoloured by countless years of usage. While the staff has no magical properties whatsoever and is no more than a tall walking stick, it sentimental value is great. The staff was first carried by C'hale's great grandfather, who found it on the shores of Lake Hylia during his young days of traveling. When he grew too old to travel he passed the staff on to his son, and this continued until C'hale's uncle passed it to him on his tenth birthday. He had always thought of C'hale as a son, and a farmer has no use for a walking stick. C'hale believes this staff holds the wild spirit of his ancestors, and considers it to be good luck, although no luck granting properties exist in this chunk of wood.

The second mentionable item C'hale owns is his pendant. It is a plain dark leather strap with five small, bone fragments carved into rough squares handing on the front. On each of these bones there is a letter carved, and dyed black. The letters spell out "Megan". C'hale refuses to remove this pendant, and has gotten into many a fight over it.

The final mentionable item in C'hale's possession is a small leather pouch, carried on his left hip. The contents of this pouch are a secret to everyone, as they contain a large amount of a dried herb, and a bundle of small rectangular paper. This herb is a frowned upon substance that, when dried and ingested, alters ones mind.

    Appearance:
C'hale is tall and skinny, standing at 6' 2" and weighing 165 pounds. He has shaggy brown hair, that falls to his shoulders on the back and sides. His bangs are quite long as well, and frequently fall over his eyes. His brown eyes are somewhat sunken into his gaunt face, but sparkle with a mischievous light. While his face is gaunt, it is usually brightened by a small smile, that makes him seem approachable and friendly. His skin is smooth, and without defect, but is considerably pale.

C'hale usually wears a red, black trimmed, Magus robe that falls to just above the top of his feet. The sleeves are long, and extend to his wrists, flaring at the end. The collar is circular, and loosely hugs his throat. His waist is adorned with a thick black leather belt, which is fairly useless other than carrying a few small pouches and his Cane.

On his back C'hale wears a voluminous cloak. The outside of the cloak is made of a heavy black cloth, while the inside is a softer red cloth. This cloak is secured on the front of C'hale's right shoulder by a heavy metal clasp. The cloak drapes across his chest, just under his neck, and hangs over his left shoulder. This cloak extends down his back to about mid-calf, and is large enough to wrap oneself in completely. Fortunately the cloak has some weight to it, and does not blow around excessively on windy days. This cloak has a hood, but C'hale rarely wears it up.

On his hands C'hale wears some modified leather gloves. He removed the index and middle finger of each hand, as well as a large portion of the palm of his right glove. This allows him full usage of his hands, and the capability to cast his fire spell without removing the gloves.

His feet are covered simply by tall leather boots. They reach up to just under his knees, and are secured with buckles on the outside and front of each boot. Each boot has six buckles, the first being just above the foot, and the last being just below the top of the boot.

    Residence:
C'hale currently lives in a small abandoned house in the Goron Slums. This house had been condemned, due to its decrepit nature, and the owner never goes near it. The front door is boarded up, so C'hale uses a broken window in the back as an entrance. The first floor is messy; covered in broken boards and discarded furniture. The second floor is completely unusable. The floor boards are rotted out, and full of holes. Many parts of the floor have fallen through to the first floor. The roof is secure over most of the house, but contains many holes and leaks. Every time it rains puddles of water form in various parts of the house. C'hale has a makeshift home in the back corner of the house, in the only large area without a single leak or puddle spot. A single straw-filled mattress lays in the corner, covered by a pile of ratty sheets. The bed is surprisingly clean, considering the state of the house. C'hale is not a messy person, he is just unwilling to pay for a better residence. Besides, many people wouldn't allow him to live with them, or in their buildings, due to his habit. His kind is considered financially untrustworthy.

    Backstory:
Twenty years ago, 22 year old Natalia Donadek was walking home from work. She worked as a cook at a bar in the Goron Slums, and had gotten off late on this night. A large party of travelers had shown up an hour before closing, and Nat had to cook for all of them. She was only a half hour late, but it had already gotten dark. As she hurried through the slums, someone pressed their hand over her mouth and threw her to the ground. Nine months later her son was born. She named him C'hale. Since Nat couldn't look after this child on her own she moved in with her brother, who owned some land in Lon Lon Ranch.

C'hale grew up a reject. Throughout his childhood he was rejected by most of his peers. They called him the Son of None. Only one hylian his own age would accept him. This was a young girl named Megan. They became fast friends, and we're rarely seen apart. C'hale's friendship with Megan was all that kept him in Lon Lon Ranch. Neither of them were schooled, but both instead worked on C'hale's uncles farm. They spent much of their free time working with the horses; riding and grooming them. They had a good life in Lon Lon for ten years.

One day, the duo was out in the field, having lunch in the sun. They were just sitting there, on an old blanket talking, when suddenly Megan leaned over and kissed C'hale. He was completely surprised, as he had only seen this girl as a friend before today. He had run home later that day and excitedly told his mother all about it. She was happy, as she knew Megan and her family. They spent the next week wrapped in the warmth of young love. C'hale was truly happy for the first time in his life.

But then the unthinkable happened. They were out riding their favorite horses, still oblivious to the world, when suddenly C'hale's horse spooked. It bolted, and he clung to it's back. C'hale was a good rider, but was nothing next to Megan. She spurred her mount into a gallop and rode alongside the spooked animal. She shouted words of comfort to the terrified boy. Then, his horse swerved. The animals collided, and fell to the ground in a tangle of legs and saddles. C'hale managed to crawl away, his arm badly broken. The horses untangled themselves and stood up, only to take off running towards the barn. C'hale blacked out.

When he came around, he was laying on his back on the ground. Beside him lay his friend. She had a horrible gash on her head, and her cloths were soaked in blood. From what he could tell, she had crawled over to him before passing out. C'hale got to his feet, and even in his weakened state, managed through force of will to lift Megan off the ground, and carry her with one arm back to the farm. It was morning by the time he got home. His mother and uncle rushed out and took the small girl off his arms. C'hale blacked out once again. He awoke this time in a clean bed, his broken bone set and wrapped. His mother was standing over him, heavy dark circles under her eyes. He had been out cold for two days, and his mother had been by his side the entire time. he opened his mouth and managed to choke out three words.

"Where is Megan?" Those words set off a waterfall in his mothers eyes. C'hale's chest tightened as his uncle walked in. "Take me to her." His uncle looked at Nat, who nodded. His uncle lifted C'hale up and carried him out the door. They walked next door to Megan's family's house. The her mother broke into tears upon seeing the broken boy.

"She's gone." C'hale would never forget those words. Her mother handed him a wrapped package. Inside was Megan's bone necklace.

As soon as his arm healed C'hale left the Ranch. The ten year old Hylian boy hid on a farmers wagon heading for Castle-Town, and was soon living off the streets in the Slums. He lived off stealing for almost six months; something he was not very good at. One day a young Zora Magus was walking through the Slums, and saw a skinny, starved Hylian laying on the road. He took the boy in, and fed him until he was strong. C'hale would barely talk, and spent most if his time laying on the bed given to him by the nice Zora. The Magus took him in as an apprentice. C'hale trained for five years with this Zora, but soon left. He didn't feel at home there, and was very restless. C'hale and the Zora got into many arguments in the year before he left. And then he was back on the streets.

C'hale was sitting in an alleyway one day when a dark skinned hylian man approached him. After a quick talk, the man walked off with a few rupees, and C'hale was floating in the clouds. The man had sold him a pouch of dried herbs, and C'hale had promptly lit up. This was the first day of a dependency that would plague him for the next four years. He soon after set up residence in a decrepit house, and made it his home. Since his Herb was so difficult to come by, as soon as he could, C'hale bought a small supply of seeds, and began to grow it in a hole in the floor of his house. Having such easy access only worsened his dependency, but C'hale has said many times that it kept him alive.

For the last four years C'hale has lived in the Slums, living off a meager income from preforming tricks with fire in the market. He trained his magic skills ever chance he got, and has never gone home. He hasn't spoken to his mother since he left nine years ago, not because of something she did, but out of fear of her finding out who he had become.

And interesting character. Of particular awesomeness is his, what I assume to be, opium addiction. Either that, or it's tobacco, but that's not nearly as addictive as opium.

Anyways, aside from a few grammar/spelling things, this is great. Accepted :V
