Rupees: 100 starting -15 for his equipment, no treasures=85 rupees. Name: Acern Maliran Age: 32 Gender: Male Race: Hylian Place of Origin: Castle-Town, Hylian Guard PWC: 2/1/4 Treasures: None Height: 6 feet Weight: 189 pounds Equipment: Longsword: Acern's sword is not as thick in the blade as is usual, closer to a rapier than a true longsword. The edges are still kept sharp, and the blade is usually worn on his side on a worn leather belt. Leather Armor: Acern wears hard leather armor, covering his torso and arms. The armor itself is a dark black color, with a raised collar. Appearance: Acern is a tall, wide person. He was once a Hylian Guard, and he still looks quite formidable. However, years of drink have ruined his once formidable strength, and some of his well earned physique has vanished. His hair is darker than his brother's, almost black. A notable feature are his impressive sideburns. His hair and face are unkept, and his armor and outfit, all dark and leathery, is starting to fade. He smells of tree sap and beer. Residence: Though he rarely visits, he technically owns the family house. The house is small, and found in the Residential District. The bottom floor houses the kitchen and the parent's bedroom, plus a small foyer. At the top of the stairs is where the boys used to sleep, and a small washroom. Backstory: Acern is the second son of Marion and Aldron Maliran. He spent most of his younger days playing around with his older brother Rolan and fighting. He was not gifted magically or intelligently, but he was the champion at fighting games. When he was sixteen, his mother died in a accident with a runaway horse, and his father died soon after. Rolan and Acern soon drifted apart, Rolan bitter at Acern for getting a job assisting the Hylian Guard while he had his dreams of being a Knight torn from him in the accident that took his arm. Acern became a Guard, distancing himself even more from his brothers. He trained hard, and three years later he was returning from one of his patrols when he recieved word that Rolan had left Castle-Town on a mad quest to liberate Southern Hyrule. Worried, he stayed on the beach waiting for his return. Two months later, he and a group of fisherman pulled in the boat to find only Filon had survived. Devastated by what had happened, Acern left the Guard. He took to drinking to ease his pain, and spent most of his time getting drunk and picking fights. He has only seen Filon twice since that day on the shore, and he can't bring himself to talk to his once close brother. Recently, Acern has started trying to kick his drinking habit, and has taken to chewing tree sap like gum to try to distract himself. He's not sure what he wants to do, but his relationship with his brother worries him.
