Equipment: Abby totes a satchel that is regular in just about all possible ways to haul ingredients around, as well as a standard hiking stick to help her focus her (sadly limited) magic, as well as for self-defense. Carved from oak and standing at roughly four feet tall, it's her main tool when she's gathering things out in the wilderness. Appearance: Abigail has never cared much for appearances, a natural result of living under the scourge of Ganon's armies. Her light brown hair is kept short so as to avoid getting in her way, and it is naturally wavy and at times a bit dirty. She wears very practical clothing, not too tight to breathe properly, but not loose enough to be caught on branches or the like. Her usual attire is composed of a green shirt and similarly colored shorts, as well as leather boots and of course her trusty hiking stick. Her life in the caverns has not quite made a warrior out of her, but it has, if nothing else, kept her fairly fit and able. Personality: Adventurous and insatiably curious, there's nothing that Abigail loves more than a good time exploring. However, this curiosity often gets her in trouble and it is not unknown for her to shirk most of her magic studies, despite her talent. She instead focuses on the spells that she believes will help her mess around and have a good romp through forests or such. While this natural inquisitiveness makes her quick to learn and wise beyond her years, it does not make her immune to moments when common sense seems to escape her. It is not unknown for this quality to get her into trouble or get the better of her. This is further exacerbated by her sometimes-headstrong demeanor can create a very confusing impression, in which she evidently possesses profound wisdom while at the same time being incredibly dense in other areas. Residence: Life in the western caves is hard, and as such her home is somewhat different than a northern Hylian would think of it. She has no house, of course, but in her modest living space she does have a few books that survived the destruction of Saria, as well as a bed that is at least more comfortable than the rock flooring. Aside from those she has precious little to call her own. Pet: N/A Backstory: Abigail was born just a couple of years before Ganon's invasion, and as such was among the first spirited away from the town when his mighty army laid into it. Her father was not so lucky, and was counted as one of the fatalities of the brutal assault. She and her mother managed to flee to the western caves, whereupon she grew up as normally as her new home allowed. That is to say, as soon as she became old enough she was trained in what particular herbs or animals or berries were safe to eat and how to avoid getting caught by the ghastly minions of Ganon. Needless to say, her job was to go out and collect whatever edible items she could find and bring them back. To that end, she was taught some rudimentary mobility spells to help her get around and escape if need be, mainly being taught by her mother and some of the elders. One of these elders was a middle-aged alchemist, and he and Abigail took a liking to each other. Eventually he gave her some strange sort of lens, telling her it would be helpful to her the way she kept running outside, and that it would keep her out of trouble. She started out gathering ingredients for him as thanks for his potions and the lens, but after some time it became something she did naturally. The two became fast friends, and he began to make potions for her preemptively, knowing how she runs about. She has not yet begun learning from him, but she plans to. Her life was rather uneventful, and though the community taking refuge in the caves scraped out a living, it didn't satisfy her in the least. Especially not sulking around those dark, dank caves all day. Especially not the way her mother spoke of their previous life above-ground. It was all so mystical and foreign to her now. Her mother spoke of a time when people spent all their time enjoying plentiful sunlight, of a time when the sunset was not a warning to go retreat to a cave but rather a sight to be enjoyed with loved ones, of a time when the people didn't need to dodge monsters every time they went out. No, all she knew were the caves, the caves and her job. And she loved going outside. New things constantly awaited her. A certain plant, another animal, so many wonders. The more time passed, the bolder she became. She set out farther and farther from the caverns and wanted to see more and more unexplored grounds. Her mother disapproved, but ultimately was too gentle to her daughter to stop her. She developed as a stubborn lass who dreamed of further explorations. Abigail also heard tell of another land, of hushed whispers of those attempting to discern whether or not Ganon could breach the obstacles separating them and the lands north of them. Could it be? Could there really be a possibility of an area unaffected by Ganon's charge? The thought set a fire in her heart. She wanted to see it. Even if it was only a chance of it, she wanted to see a land freely, to explore without the meddling of the monsters. The hope slowly grew, day after day, creating a new dream for the girl. She didn't know how. Or when. But she had to see Northern Hyrule. She currently throws herself into her work with renewed vigor, dreaming of the day she may be able to see it.
