    Thump!
The noise was louder now, and every time it beat, its vibrations shook through the heart.
    Thump!
Valoo's shouts played chorus, his tail beating along with the maddening cadence.
    Thump!
Veran looked up towards the sky, great gouts of flame following her gaze into the clouds. Something had to be done. Already, Valoo was beginning to lose his grasp on reality, and they were no closer to finding the source of his pain. The only clue they had was the mysterious vibrations, sending shivers throughout the island.
    Thump!
She cannot do this on her own. Veran knelt, praying to the Goddesses, praying that even just one hero might arrive.

When you arrive on the island, it is quite clearly deserted, all but the most devoted still remaining. Those few that have stayed look at you with hope in their eyes, hoping that perhaps you will be their salvation. With hushed murmurs, you are led to Veran, the one who has taken charge of the situation at hand. She looks at you, appraising your worth. Then, she speaks.

"If you are here to help, then you have my gratitude. If not, then I suggest you leave." She looks tired, and her terse behavior indicates that she has no time to mince words. She motions for you to follow her, and you do, walking with her until you reach a small opening in the ground, a tunnel wide enough to walk through single-file. A blue film closes off the entrance, the barrier crackling with magic. "This is the only entrance we have found. Should you decide to enter, the magic I have woven will protect you from the brunt of the dangers down there. I cannot go in myself, as this, and other magic, require all the strength I can muster just to maintain."

With a sigh, she turns to leave. "The choice is yours."

    Name: Lavaclaw Dungeon

    Description:

IC: Beneath the island that the Rito call home, on which Valoo resides, lies a once dormant volcano. Vents, caverns, and tunnels formed from years of activity, but forgotten during the volcano's dormancy, have once again revealed themselves. Fresh magma pours forth from cracks in the earth like blood seeping from a wound. Deep within the volcano, somewhere in all the winding corridors and titanic caverns, is the source of Valoo's madness. Somewhere between spouting magma jets, poisonous gases, and crumbling earth, is where you must go.

OOC: Lavaclaw Dungeon is a dungeon heavily based on mobility through unstable and dangerous terrain and puzzles involving movement of both the self and other objects. While the dungeon itself is placed in an incredibly environment, treasures that grant heat resilience are not required, as it is automatically provided upon entering, the the equivalent of a Goron Tunic. Treasures that will be useful in this dungeon include ice based treasures and mvoement based treasures, such as any of the Hookshot-line or Jump. Enemies found in this dungeon will be creatures one would expect in a fire-based dungeon, such as Dodongo and Fire Keese, though the number and varieties that appear are up to you. Similarly, all puzzle designs, as long as some involve the dungeon treasure and follow the general theme, are up to writer discretion. Lastly, there will be a mandatory dungeon hazard; every so often, Valoo will throw a tantrum, causing tremors to shake the dungeon, possibly changing its layout. How you get inside the dungeon is up to you; those involved are free to write how their characters made it to the entrance, but may omit that entirely.

This Dungeon will be graded similarly to a Quest, though the rewards include both 50 rupees as well as the unique dungeon item that will be obtainable only through this dungeon. Additionally, for two months after this Dungeon is released, any Lavaclaw Dungeon completed will automatically be eligible to become site canon. These eligible dungeons will be graded by staff on a higher criteria based on writing skill and creativity, and one will be selected. The names of the characters in this selected dungeon will be recorded on the site's timeline as those that conquered Lavaclaw Dungeon. After the two months period has passed, or the first dungeon is completed (as this may occur after two months), this dungeon will available to be run as a Classic Dungeon, albeit with reduced rewards. Lavaclaw Dungeon canon is open until November 30th.

    Boss/Miniboss(es):

Minibosses: Unlike Skyreach Dungeon, Lavaclaw does not have a miniboss. While the dungeon may not have a miniboss, traversing the area itself is an arduous task and should not be taken lightly.

    Boss:

    Magmape, Smoldering Primate:

Description: Magmape has three phases. During his first phase, he appears as an overgrown, nearly titanic, primate. Standing at 15” tall and weighing several tons, this monkey appears to be made of ash and rock, with burning red eyes beneath his deep set brow. During this phase, he fights like a brawler, attempting to catch intruders within its crushing grasp. This failing, he will beat upon the ground, sending shockwaves out to knock any close by down to the floor, and disorient any further away. Ice treasures are very effective at dealing damage to Magmape, though more mundane ways of causing harm can still be used effectively.

In his second phase, once he has become significantly enraged, cracks upon his skin will begin to form, revealing shifting magma just below the surface. A mane of fire will sprout around his neck, while tufts of similar fire will form around his ankles and wrists. At this point, his pounding upon the ground will have caused the floor of the area to begin breaking apart, revealing lava in between in the cracks. His tactics will be similar to before, except he will periodically grab handfuls of lava pooling on the floor, and will proceed to fling them at any of the characters. His pound upon the ground has an increased strength, and will cause the floor to break further apart.

In his final form, what is left of his ash skin will fall off, revealing a body that appears to be made entirely of lava. The incessant beating upon the floor, combined with Valoo's own shaking, will cause for the ceiling of the area to begin to collapse. The floor should now be entirely unstable, the only safe areas being large chunks of the former floor floating freely in lava. During this phase, Magmape will begin jumping onto the wall to continue throwing lava at the player characters. If significantly enraged, he will jump from the wall and into the lava, creating a great wave of magma that will radiate outwards from where he jumped in.

Reward: 50 Rupees, Fist of Pacci

    `Fist of Pacci

    Original: WillowtheWhisp, Magic-Tier - Utility

    [Claw, [Projectile], [Travel], [Wrist]

    No PWC Requirement

The Fist of Pacci is a large metal gauntlet capable of moving surrounding objects, not unlike the Hookshot, Switchhook, or Cane of Pacci. The gauntlet has a firing mechanism that, when activated, may have one of two effects. Should the object be too heavy or otherwise adequately grounded, the Fist of Pacci will merely propel its wearer toward the object, similar to how a Hookshot functions and with comparable range. If the object is movable, though, both objects will be lifted off the ground. With the middle point of the distance between the user and attached object acting as the center, the user may spin himself and the object around in a circle. However, the length between the origin point and the center may not be changed, and the user must remain opposite the attached object at all times. This effect may be cancelled at any time.

    ----
Example: The user is 20 feet away from a chair, which is the object the Fist of Pacci is attached to. Both the object and user are lifted into the air. The center point is 10 feet away from the user, directly in the middle of the user and object. Likewise, the center point is 10 feet away from the object, directly in the middle of the user and object. The user may spin himself and the object in a circle, but must remain 10 feet away from the center at all times, and the object will always remain opposite himself. However, he may end this effect at any time, dropping both himself and the object.
