It had been a short while since the events in the Lost Woods; Rika fingered the dull, grey shard as he walked, staring at it. For something that contained so much power, it was now seemingly nothing more than a piece of jewelry. His research back at Hyrule Castle Town proved to be utterly fruitless; while there were spells and items that caused transformations in people, he could find nothing in several libraries about a magical shard that transformed creatures into hulking, obsessed monstrosities. Rika would have grinned at the idea of a completely undiscovered artifact, if it weren't for the fact that it didn't seem to work anymore. He considered attempting to restore some of magic within it with his own, but such a feat was too deadly when he knew so little; what else was he to do, though?

He did this as he was walking, though where was he walking to? Why, to the Northern Hills to see the manliest of Gorons duke it out in a manly struggle to prove who was the rockiest Goron around. It was none other than the Goron Sumo Championships, an annual tournament held where the toughest and most skilled of Goron sumo wrestlers compete against one another, the winner taking home the fame and glory of the fans and championship belt, along with a reasonably large sum of rupees. To be honest, Rika wasn't the biggest fan of sumo wrestling; brute strength wasn't exactly his style. However, it seemed to be a spectacle of an event, and he was not too far off from the location of the event, having been in Hyrule Castle Town, so it was worth checking out.

As he dazed off, looking at the shard, suddenly, a large, rolling boulder rolled off of a nearby hill and zoomed over Rika's head, threatening to take the Kokiri's skull off if he hadn't ducked. "Hey, watch it!" Rika shouted, turning to see a Goron crashed and dazed, laying flat on the ground about a dozen feet away. The Goron certainly lacked kind manners, didn't they?
