It was as if the storm had returned, so great was the thunder rolling through the town. The earth tremors with the explosions, rock groaning as it shears away from the land men, women, and children scream, as all semblance of order and civilization is lost. Then, with a great lurching, their stomachs rising up to their mouths, Impa began to fall. It is only through quick thinking that the city is not lost; desperate chanting drones through the air, and as Impa strikes the surface of the water, a great sphere surrounds them, a barrier against imminent doom. All eyes look towards the skies, beseeching the goddesses to save them, but no aid comes. The last prayer disappears into the water, as Impa is devoured whole...

    Name: Darksea Depths

    Description:

IC: Impa has been cleaved from the landscape, dropping the new town, and its remaining denizens, into the sea. Though it sinks, through the efforts of friendly Zora mages in the area, and the mages accompanying the army, it is surrounded by protective magics, slowing its descent and enveloping the fallen city in air. But time is running out, as fatigue sets in and the spellcasters fight a losing battle. Moreover, a monstrous force hunts those still alive; screams echo in the dimly lit streets, and slithering whispers up from the sewers below. The citizens still within the city cower in their homes, while Hylian troops desperately search for their hunter. Onox leads the men, Nihil having disappeared in the explosions that separated the city from land, but the fledgling officer knows that he is not up to the task.

    OOC:

Darksea Depths is a dungeon involving high-risk, both to the players as well as the NPCs involved. However you choose to complete this dungeon, expect to see an impact from your choices; both the citizens and the troops within the city require assistance, perhaps even protection. Save one, both, or none. Moreover, conflict exists between the two groups, as each tries to do what is best for their own survival. Although the dungeon takes place beneath the water, it is not expected that the players have the Zora Tunic, or similar treasures. Friendly Zora NPCs will provide transport to the city, along with temporary items that will allow the player to breath in water. Once the players have arrived, the city is largely encompassed by air, so the aforementioned items are no longer necessary. This does not exclude the possibility of water based puzzles, or its presence; feel free to include either or both if you feel up to the task. Common enemies might be Electric ChuChus, River Zora, or enemies one might expect to find in dark places, underwater, or a sewer. Additionally, a new monster, the Agrozoate, should also appear. Information on this new foe is below.

This Dungeon will be graded similarly to a Quest, though the rewards include both 50 rupees as well as the unique dungeon item that will be obtainable only through this dungeon. Additionally, for two months after this Dungeon is released, any Darksea Depths completed will automatically be eligible to become site canon. These eligible dungeons will be graded by staff on a higher criteria based on writing skill and creativity, and one will be selected. The names of the characters in this selected dungeon will be recorded on the site's timeline as those that conquered Darksea Depths. After the two months period has passed, or the first dungeon is completed (as this may occur after two months), this dungeon will available to be run as a Classic Dungeon, albeit with reduced rewards. Darksea Depths canon is open until April 1st.

    Boss/Miniboss(es)/Monsters:

    Monster:

    Agrozoate:

Description: The Agrozoate is serpentine in shape, though its pudgy form and eyeless face might make it more akin to a leech. Rows of razor sharp teeth open at one end, spiking a circular mouth, while the other end coils to prepare for a leap. It's body is largely translucent, save for the ugly purple light it emanates from within its body; it appears to have no organs, as if it were made of Chu Chu jelly. Be cautious of its electrified body, like that of the yellow Chu Chu, and of its teeth. Whatever you do, don't let it attach itself to your head!

    Minibosses:
    Nihil, Animated Warrior:

Description: Though Nihil perished in the explosion, his body is still largely intact, but pieces of shrapnel riddle his body and armor, while burn marks obscure his once noble features. The most defining feature, though, is the Agrozoate attached firmly attached to his head. Controlling Nihil's body through forced electrical signals, this Agrozoate has turned the former general's body into nothing more than a puppet. His armor and shield make him a difficult enemy to wound, while the Agrozoate pushes Nihil's body past its normal limits, making strikes against the body generally ineffective. The Agrozoate will defend itself fiercely; this is the key to its defeat. But be wary of Nihil's longsword, which crackles with electricity.

    Boss:

    Agrozoa, Medusal Basilisk:

Description: Agrozoa has the appearance of a massive, thirty foot long, monitor lizard. However, it appears translucent, with luminous purple organs, as if it is a strangely formed jellyfish. Great anemone tentacles crown its head in a shag of hair, while more yet sprout along its spine. It is from these tentacles that the Agrozoate seem to spawn, detaching themselves once they have reached a certain length. Agrozoa's tail is disproportionately long, the end of the tail spiked with teeth like a horrendously large Agrozoate. Agrozoa is a continually expanding beast, its tail splitting and slowly filling the tunnels and pathways of the sewer from its heart. Players may at times be ambushed by its tail, if they choose to pursue Argozoa within the sewers.

As Agrozoa is continually expanding, it is no small surprise that the city is beginning to fall more quickly, and that the magic of the spellcasters is beginning to wane quickly. Agrozoa is not capable of sentient thought, as all it requires is food to continue growing, so it will not specifically hunt down these spellcasters. However, should Agrozoa grow too large, expect it to devour anything upon which it can wrap its tentacles around. Finally, Agrozoa can be fought within the sewers, especially if the players reach it quickly enough, but the stage for battle against Agrozoa is not set. It can occur in the streets of the city, or perhaps even underwater just outside the city, but whichever it is, the choice is yours.

    Reward: 50 Rupees, Storm Rod

    `Lightning Rod

    Original: WillowtheWhisp, Magic-Tier - Utility

    [Electric], [Cane], [Protect]

    No PWC Requirement

The Lightning Rod is a metal rod, usually no longer than two feet, crowned with amethyst. The Lightning Rod is capable of absorbing any single Electric-based attack with which it makes contact, and can maintain this held charge almost indefinitely. If the rod holds a charge, it may be swung again to shoot a bolt of lightning, similar in function, though weaker than, Thunder. If this bolt strikes a living creature, it may cause a small amount of damage, in addition to stunning that creature temporarily. If it strikes a metal object, that object will have magnetic properties for a short amount of time. Note that this can be used to interact with the Magnet Gloves and Magnet Boots.
