    Appearance
Like most Scrubs, Tent has a large and spherical head--albeit his is a bit tall and oblong, slightly narrowed towards the tip. Beneath it is a tiny wooden body, and extending out from it are two small arms and two small legs. He is moderately toned and strong for a Deku, although compared to any other race, they still appear scrawny due to the unique composition of a plant's muscle. His eyes, like all Dekus, are orange, glowing, sorrowful in shape, and effectively frozen in place.

Extending from atop his head and along the base of his neck are a plethora of spade-shaped leaves, each three or so inches in diameter. More akin to Scrubs stemming from Lost Woods or Moruge Swamp, they are orange-red in color, only having the more typical green pigment in the stem. Some of these these leaves offer cushioning from his steel helmet, while others protrude out from the top of his chainmail tunic to cover the top brimming of it.

    Equipment & Attire

    Inferno Gauntlets
Often referred to by Tent as "Inferno One" and "Inferno Two," these twin gauntlets are the most prominent aspect of his attire. They each have a base of thick black leather which extends from the fingertips to the elbow. Within this leather are several gems attributed to Din, infused between the layers at various key points--including the fingertips, palm, and wrist--to help channel magical power. Woven into the leather on is a shimmering protective steel plate following and curving around the exterior of the arm, which breaks off at the wrist to form a second, smaller plate which covers the back of the hand. This second plate, on each gauntlet, is inscribed with the insignia of Din (though it is mirrored on the left gauntlet). Finally, the four fingers on the tip are coated on the exterior in small steel coverings designed to protect the fingers themselves, with prominent and bulky spikes on the tips of the knuckles to inflict additional damage when used in combat.

These gloves have been a sign of Tent's devotion for years, and he holds them as his most sacred possessions, even when using them in combat as his primary weapons. They are seldom removed. (As his wooden body does not perspire, they do not quickly become filthy on the interior.)

    Chainmail Goron Tunic
Imbued with the trademark fireproof veil of his armor, Tent's mail of choice consists of iron chainmail, and a Goron Tunic which lays over it. The chainmail portion wraps around his throat as a turtleneck sweater, extends out just a couple inches underneath his gauntlets, and dangles partway down his thighs. Over this lays the tunic, with sorter sleeves, a normal shirt-like color, which runs nearly as far down his thighs. Both garments are secured in place by a crimson leather belt with a golden buckle, bearing the insignia of Din.

    Barbute Helm
Worn upon his head is a solid steel helmet of the popular barbute design, rounded out to fit a Scrub's head. It possesses a nose guard that extends from the brow to the top of Tent's snout, giving the face a "Y-shape." Though it was designed without cushioning, Tent's head-leaves stuffed under it more than make up for that. His frozen-in-place orange eyes--a trademark of his race--appear somewhat impassioned and angry in shape thanks to the design of this helm.

    Boots
Below the end of his tunic are a pair of thick black leather boots, reaching up to the knees, overcoated on the shins and tops of the feet with often-polished shimmering steel plates. Their intent in design is to match that of his gauntlets.

    Personality
If there could be a single word which could describe every aspect of Test's personality, that word would be, "Din." Since childhood, he has revered the goddess of power and flames far above the others. His original reasons for doing this have gradually faded away, to the point that all that remains of his attitude towards the celestial being is unwavering devotion and limitless reverence. The only true enemies he holds are those who oppose her.

However, the sheer extent of his devotion has brought him to an almost insane state. Although he is extremely driven, Din has left behind little to no evidence of how to act in her stead. Of what has been left, he devotedly clings. But, because of the scarcity, he has come to attempt to fill in many blanks of how he can best act on her behalf. Despite being an extremely-flammable Deku Scrub, he has taken up the mantle of flames as his weapon in combat against monsters and other naysayers (whom he views as displeasing unto Din). He easily finds inspiration in what he often perceives as hidden messages from the almighty--his own dreams, virtually any natural flame formation, and often just odd-looking rocks. Thus, he will often be venturing out on insane quests on what appears to be the smallest of whims, steadfastly believing it was what Din desires of him.

Test himself is quick to make decisions and easily rushes into things, obviously quite reckless. Recklessness, however, is a trait he requires to be able to run off and perform the duties of Din as he does. Towards that end, he is extremely dedicated and valiant. This recklessness compliments his capability to think on his feet, though he rarely makes plans beyond the imminent future.

When what he is hearing does not in any way rebuke the name of Din or what he believes she represents, he is quite outgoing and easy to get along with, but gullible. He is honest and trustworthy to a fault, bold to a fault, and often overconfident. He generally likes to think of himself as a good person who aspires to be a hero, and he tries to encompass kindness, benevolence, and other traits he believes the Golden Goddesses favor.

    Backstory
Almost forty years prior to this day, there was a valiant young man who gave his life in servitude to the Deku Tree and Kokiri Forest as a whole. He was but one of many of his kind who have done so, and many more have done so after he. Unlike most, however, he left behind a wife who gave birth to his first and final son mere months after his passing.

For much of his early life, Tent was an average Deku boy. He made friends with the others, was educated just as everyone else, and was always a bit of a clown.

Thirty years ago, that boy began to receive the typical training for all of his kind who were entrusted with the protection of the Deku Tree and his children. It was what his father had done, so it was what he would do. Tent at the time did not question this, and accepted it as mere fact. Over the passing years, he along with the rest of his peers became adept at defensive combat and guerrilla tactics, capable of holding his own against most foes and surviving just about anything.

Now alive for over two decades, and a well-maturing man, Tent and the rest of his squadron were assigned the first real task of their lives. According to the Great Deku Tree, an evil being known as Ganon was attempting to invade their land. Throughout the entire forest warriors would need to be dispersed, capable of laying down ambushes and decoding the foes' tactics.

Tent was confident that victory was theirs; he always was and always would be. He looked into the glowing eyes of the comrades in his squadron, those whom he had spent the past decade alongside, growing up together and training side-by-side. They were just as valiant and determined as he.

However, in his section of the forest, the monsters came much earlier than expected, a surprise attack in the dead of night. Tent encountered them first, but... he found himself filled with a fright unlike anything he had ever felt before. They were like aliens, standing at over thrice his height, decked out in armor that nothing could penetrate. He didn't even know how to begin to strike; he was not trained for these... these monstrous beings... His desperate attacks ended in failure after failure, and his comrades were not weathering the assault much better.

Eventually, the entire squadron came to be cornered in the middle of a clearing. There was nowhere to hide, nowhere to run, and surrounded by invincible beings who seemed of pure evil--Darknuts. One by one, each of the children who had grown into men alongside Tent were slaughtered...

Only when two of them remained did they finally realize the key to defeating these beasts; how to penetrate their metal hides to damage the soft and fur-covered flesh within. But it was too late. Despite the handful that had been taken out with traps, there were still countless forces surrounding them now...

"Rod!" Tent still remembers the words that came from his mouth, never able to forget them, "On my mark, execute formation EMR 3!"

EMR... Emergency Message Run. The front-lying Darknuts were temporarily blinded with a nut; Rod called to the skies, Tent handed off a scroll to Rod, and Rod stomped into Temp's waiting hands before being launched skyward. The scroll--containing previously hastily-scribbled keypoints of the Darknuts' weaknesses, written in sap--was caught by Rod's trained pigeon and shuttled straight towards the Deku Tree himself. However, as Rod fell, his entire body was impaled on the blade of one of these monsters...

...The sight of his friend's body, squirming and writhing from uncontrollable agony as sap spurt into the air... the boy's shrieks filled his ears... It was the sight from which live-long regrets could single-handedly stem.

It was perhaps at that point when Tent truly realized he would die here, tonight, in much a similar manner. There was no longer anyone to guard his back, and no one left to aid him in creating a distraction. This would be it.

"TASTE THE WRATH OF DIN!!" A tall and slender figure cloaked in flames completely diverted the Darknuts attention. Effortlessly it blasted through each and every one of them, pillars of flame tearing clean through their armor, melting it and fusing the very steel they wore into their flesh. Like insects, wave after wave of the monsters were flung away, wrapped in flames.

Finally there were only a few left, most of whom managed to successfully retreat... and the being for a moment glanced down at the timidly trembling Tent, hiding beneath a bush. Its form was concealed by the flames covering it, blinding to one who gazed upon it. "I have but one question for you: are you with us? Or against us?" The voice was at once both as beautiful as the fairest maiden, and as fierce as the most vicious demon.

"I-I'm with you! I'm with you!!" The words came out uncontrollably, but apparently they managed to satisfy the beast that stood before him. In a flash, it seemed to have vanished... although unknown to Tent, it had simply wizzwarped elsewhere nearby.

In complete shock from the events that just occurred, Tent remained as he was--collapsed on the ground beneath a bush--for several minutes. Eventually, the minutes became hours. He was completely lost as to what to do. The message he sent back had heralded his death... and his entire squadron... everyone he had come to know and trust since the passing of his mother... they were completely gone. What was left for him? What reason did he have to go back? Duty...?

Duty... was the word he thought upon. He could have done this ten thousand times more, but this would still be the only one where he decided--just like that--to leave it all behind. He wanted to know of Din, of the one who saved him, and of the seldom-mentioned world outside the forest.

Though he would never know it, the message Rod sacrificed everything to save would help to turn the tide in the war. It ended up being one of the key reasons Ganon was never able to truly penetrate the forest, and Tent's entire legion was remembered among their kind as noble heroes.

Through a series of unlikely and fortunate events over the next few days, the uncharacteristically wayward Tent made his way up along the west coast of Southern Hyrule--bypassing the bulk of Ganon's forces and scurrying away from the others with defensive tactics he has learned well--before weaving his way through various mountains and caves to end up in a town he would soon know as Nabooru.

Though at the time it was abuzz with the happenings of an army of monsters in the south, it is here where Tent would first find a temple which enshrined the three goddesses. It is here that he would first discover Din. Here is where all the answers--and questions--he needed in life were found properly.

At first taken in through the generosity of a then-aging Hylian sage, the young and clueless foreigner would soon find himself learning the ways of this man... who he was... what he believed, what he taught... where his duties lied. Over the next several years, Tent ended up following a path laid out in part by his teachings. His life became devoted to the divine being of power, Din, who would forever remain enigmatic unto him.

Simultaneously, the Gorons who had fled from Death Mountain--as well as the Hylians who feared their doom--would turn towards a guide that would give them faith in their time of need. As was always the case in times of fear, the people turned towards the goddesses. They turned towards the temple; towards the sage. For several years since the invasion, the wise old man would provide comfort in the followers of Din... but... it could not last. Though he lived a respectable life filled with wisdom and generosity, even he could not escape the wrath of death forever.

On his deathbed, the sage requested that although Tent was young and inexperienced, he was ready to take his place--to place faith and hope in the hearts of those who needed it. Above all, he was ready to serve Din. The man of the goddesses would die peacefully in his slumber later that night, simply with too many years behind him, he was too tired to go on.

For the next few years, Tent would do as his mentor requested. Although he was no suitable replacement, he did the best he could and provided soothing for the tired, faith for the meek, and valor for the brave. In time, however, there would come again a sensation of peace. The fear would subside when Ganon's advance had halted and no more word had come down from the mountain. There were now other, more experienced sages who had come to assist and eventually relieve Tent of his duties.

The time was prime to do so, as Tent himself had for months felt an urge... an urge to go on a pilgrimage in the name of Din, to see the world his parents and his comrades never could. It would be years before he would ever return to Nabooru... He would take on the world, with Din guiding his path.

Pro-tip: Characters important to the protagonist must die in every backstory.

    Residence: Nabooru
Although he has no owned property, he does have a place he considers to be his residence. It is a quaint and not terribly elaborate, but respectable temple devoted solely to Din, located in the midst of Nabooru. It is where he became the man he is today, and whenever he is in town, he always pays it a visit and listens to at least one preaching of a fellow sage.

Thanks to an odd experience in the clusterfuck that was Fire Temple, Tent has learned the Light-based variant of Warlock Punch (which only costs 35 rupees thanks to his Fire specialty).

He gains another 5 rupees from the dungeon itself, and 20 more rupees from his Lv4 Profession, bringing his total from 9 to 34.

Tent's profile is now a Google Doc.

Treasures haven't changed. Looks and gear were tweaked only slightly. His personality was rewritten to hopefully be more like how I actually play him. His backstory is almost completely different.
